Edmund held Athena close to him. She was the only one alright and he planned for it to stay that way.
"Daddy, where's mummy?" She asked. He smiled.
"She's with the boys, they're sick." He explained. She giggled as he kissed her cheek.
"Is dey gonna be better soon?" She questioned. He sniffed and attempted to smile at her.
"I hope so."
She smiled and slid out of his arms.
"I wanna go outside!" She exclaimed, he nodded.
"Let's go see if mummy will take you outside, it will do her some good to get her mind off things."
"Okay!"
Edmund took Athena down the hall. He opened the door Elora was reading a book silently. She looked up and smiled slightly when she saw Athena.
"Hey Athena." She whispered. Athena giggled and reached for her mother.
"Mummy!" She squealed.
Elora reached for her daughter.
"She wants to go outside. I thought you might want to take her. I'll stay with them!" He exclaimed when he saw she was about to say no.
"Okay... I guess I can." She said slowly. Edmund sat in her chair as she took Athena outside.
Edmund sat in silence before Eliazer started to stir.
"Daddy..?" He mumbled weakly. Edmund grabbed his son's hand.
"I'm here, Eliazer, I'm here." He said. Eliazer seemed to relax a little.
"I had a bad dream." Eliazer said. Edmund stroked back Eliazer's hair.
Eliazer fell back asleep. Edmund kissed his forehead softly.
"King Edmund, may I speak with you?" One of the dryad healers, Celsa, asked quietly. He nodded. She bit her lip.
"I don't have the heart to tell Queen Elora this, but I haven't seen anyone last longer from poison than they are." She motioned to the children.
Edmund felt fear arise in his heart, he forced his face to not show how afraid he really was.
"Celsa, tell General Oreius and King Peter to meet me just outside." He said. She nodded and left.
"Aslan... help us." He murmured as a few tears found their way down his cheeks.
