Katherine's POV

The door was immediately pushed open , and the pain was just increasing that I couldn't seem to stand still on my feet anymore.

"Oh sh*t !" I heard Alex say before i felt his arms around me.

"Katherine !" He said palming my cheek before he lifted me up in his arms.

The pain was increasing and so was my fear , i wanted to say something but my voice came slowly as a whimper in pain , i wanted to run toward any doctor but my legs failed me.

I felt i was slowly losing my conscious.

Alex was moving quickly but I didn't know to where , he was saying something but I couldn't even hear.

He was even shouting but i don't know at whom.

But after that everything around went into oblivion as i closed my eyes and felt darkness taking me over.

I opened my eyes , but they were too heavy, so i closed them again.

My head was pounding , my thoughts were so blurry that I can't seem to remember what happened or where i am.

But then it all came back and it hit me really hard.

My baby.

I snapped my eyes open , feeling fear rushing in my veins, feeling my heart racing and my throat so dry.

The first thing i saw was a white coat moving.

After focusing my vision and trying to concentrate more , i saw a man who i suppose is the doctor.

"Can you hear me ? " he said inching closer , his hand went toward the area under my eye as he stared into my eyes.

But i ignored him as my hand frantically went toward my belly.

"Don't worry , your baby is okay." The same man said.

I let out a shaky breath , releasing the fear with it.

I closed my eyes for a brief second feeling so relieved that my baby is okay.

I almost lost my mind at the thought that something happened.

I looked beside me and that's when i noticed Alex standing there , his brows were furrowed as he looked at me and i can sense how worried he is from the look in his eyes.

"You're sure my baby is fine ?" I asked looking at the doctor again as i tried to get up and sit on the bed.

"Yeah , don't worry." The doctor said , "I think what happened is because of stress , you're probably not resting well and i can see you're not eating as you're supposed to."

"This happens to many women during pregnancy , because their body becomes so fragile to handle even small things , so you need to take care of yourself, eat well and stay away from stress as possible as can." He paused , "You should make some tests as well , so we can make sure that there is no other complications."

His words made me panic again ,"I already made some required tests." I said directly interrupting him, "They are with my doctor."

"Okay then , go check with your doctor again as soon as you can just to make sure you're perfectly okay."

"Yeah i will." I lied , because my doctor already saw the tests and he knows there is many complications and

I won't be okay.

"Okay, you can go now if you want , just get this medicine and take one pill a day for a month." He ordered then gave me the prescription paper as I tried to get out of the bed.

Alex took the paper from me and helped me get up.

"Take care of yourself." The doctor said giving me a smile which I returned then made my way out with Alex beside me.

"I was scared like sh*t." Alex said once we stepped outside the doctor's clinic.

"Do you feel better now ? " he asked looking at me.

"Yeah , much better." I said giving him a smile to assure him i am good.

"I tried to call Ashton but he wasn't answering. " Alex said, "I couldn't leave you alone , I don't know where he is."

And to that I was more than grateful, I don't want Ashton to know about what happened.

Everything's happening with him is enough. He doesn't need more problems above his head.

"Alex." I said, "Promise me you won't tell Ashton about what happened."

"What ? Why ? " he asked looking at me as if i grew another head. 

"Please just don't tell him." I said ,"There is a lot of things happening in his life now , and i am good as you can see so there is no need to busy his mind with such a small thing."

Alex didn't seem satisfied with my words but he nodded anyway.

"Oh my god ! Katherine !" When i heard Cara saying - screaming to be more precise- I turned around to see her running toward me.

"Oh my god ! Are you okay ?" She was panting from all the running , then she looked at me from up to down.

"I am fine." I said , "How did you know ?" I knitted my eyebrows in confusion.

"Alex told me." She said.

I turned my head toward Alex and glared at him.

"Don't give me that look." He said ,"Ashton wasn't picking up and i was worried like sh*t , so i called Cara."

"This is like the first time someone pass out in front of me, heck , not just in front of me ,but in my arms. I was panicking , and not to mention you are pregnant. I lost my mind ,I thought something bad happened to you." He said, his words made me smile, because he looked so worried and nervous as he muttered them.

Its true we don't know each other that long yet i can sense how he cares about me and i care about him as well.

"Thank you." I said , he smiled and placed his arm around my shoulder pulling me closer , "Don't thank me sweetheart."

Cara glared at Alex before she looked back at me , "You're sure your okay ? " She said , "And the baby is okay too ?"

"Yeah , i am fine and the baby is fine." I said , "You know , I missed you."

She smiled and inched closer then wrapped her arms around me , "I missed you too lazy a*s."

"Oh you're so cute." Alex said ," Come on kiss each other."

We pulled apart knowing exactly where Alex's imagination is going.

"You didn't miss me too ?" He asked Cara stepping closer toward her.

"No." She said glaring at him , "Stay away from me."

"Come on cupcakes , don't tell me you're still mad at me." Alex said frowning.

"Why ? What happened?" I asked.

"Well we were out and your dear friend said that she doesn't get jealous at me." Alex said ,"I wanted to prove her wrong so i went and started talking with another girl. When i was about to ask her for a drink, Cara came out if nowhere and pulled her from her hair."

I started laughing imagining Cara when she turns all scary and pulling the girls hair.

"And she still doesn't admit that she was jealous." Alex said shrugging.

"I wasn't jealous, okay." Cara said sending death glares toward me and Alex.

This girl would never change. She always try to hide her feelings.

"Keep saying that babe." Alex said , "Maybe one day you'll believe it."

"So you pulled the girl's hair ?" I asked unable to hide my laughter.

"Shut up you." She said annoyed and crossed her arms above her chest.

"She even started shouting at the poor girl." Alex said teasing her more.

"But to be honest." Alex said , "That girl was a hot piece of meat."

Cara hit him on his arm making him chuckle even more.

"Come on , admit it already." Alex wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her toward him while his other hand messed with her hair.

"Leave me alone and i am not jealous." She said freeing herself from his hold and i kept on staring at them adoringly.

They are so cute together.

"Is that a hot nurse over there ?" Alex said looking at one of the nurses standing few inches away from us.

He is trying to tease her even more .

Poor Alex , don't know what he is getting into.

He started walking toward the nurse but Cara clutched on his arm preventing him from moving.

"Where do you think you're going ?" She snapped but Alex kept on smiling.

"Or you know what , just go to her." Cara said removing her hands from him ,"I am leaving."

She started to walk away her eyes fuming with anger, but Alex's hand grabbed hers from the back and span her around.

"Oh God , i love you." Alex said , the smile on his face, he looked oblivious to his own words.

But the way Cara's eyes widened and the way his smile dropped after assured me that this is probably the first time he is saying the love word.

They are dating for a while now and they probably crossed the just liking stage but yet they're too stubborn to admit it.

"What did you say ? " Cara asked , her voice low , her eyes stretched wide open.

"I ahh .. I said that i." Alex stuttered , his hand went and rubbed the back of his neck
nervously ,"I said i love when you act like this."

He smiled after he said that , happy by the lie he just made.

Cara seemed not to buy it but she didn't argue further.

"Okay you too, lets go see where Ashton is before he gets worried and you both can love each other later." I said jerking them back. Cara glared at me but then started walking with Alex's hand around her.

"Sweetheart." Alex called me , "Yeah Alex."

"What you're gonna name your baby ?" He asked out of the blue as we were making our way toward the waiting area.

"I don't know yet." I said , my hand involuntary went toward my small baby bump.

"If its a boy , name him after his hot uncle Alex." He said , "And if its a girl also name her Alex."

I had to stop walking and glare at him for being so full with himself.

"And why i would do that exactly." I asked crossing my arms above my chest.

"Well , i may never have a child of my own , so i want someone to carry my name." He said looking so serious.

I couldn't help but chuckle at his stupid thoughts, "And why you would never have a child ?"

"Because i have a feeling Cara will kick my balls when we go home." He said looking scared at the thought.

I saw Cara smiling due to his comment but she directly covered it.

Oh stubborn girl !

She is so in love with him.

I shook my head and continued walking , that's when i saw Ashton.

Is it weird that even after everything , my heart still flutter whenever i see him.

He saw me as well and walked toward us.

"Hey, where have you been?" He asked inching closer, "I was worried."

"Ahh nothing, i was just..." I said stuttering, "We were just walking around."

I lied and I don't know if he bought it or not, but he didn't ask further.

His eyes traveled to Alex and Cara beside me.

"I am glad you're father is okay." Cara said to Ashton,and i was surprised that she was talking normally with him.

"Thank you." He replied.

Well , they're finally being civil with each others.

"I still hate you though." Cara mumbled to herself but her voice wasn't as low as it was supposed to be.

Because i heard it and Ashton did as well.

"The feeling is mutual." Ashton replied back.

"Did he just..." Cara was about to say something but Alex placed his hand above her mouth shutting her up.

I took Ashton's hand and dragged him away.

And I thought they were being civil with each others !

We walked away from them and when i stopped i looked at Ashton who was looking back at me.

"You're sure you're okay?" He asked , his hand went toward my cheek , "Yeah i am fine."

"Let's go home , you should rest." He said.

"No it's okay, lets stay at least till your father wake up so you  can see him." I said. I didn't want to leave till they both talk.

"I already did." He said, "I saw him."

"Did you talk with him ?" I asked and he nodded.

"And ?" I said , i wanted to know if things is going to get better between them.

Because they both need each other.

"I don't know." Ashton said and looked away. "I mean , i know things wont magically go back to normal but I'll try."

"We will try." He added and i smiled , "I'll give it a shot."

My smile widened and I directly wrapped my arms around him burying my face in his chest.

"I am so proud of you." I mumbled, his hands went and hugged me back.

"Actually i should thank you for that." He said and to be confused was an understatement.

I pulled away , my arms still around him as i looked at his face , "What do you mean ? I didn't do anything."

"You being beside me was enough, you gave me the strength I needed." He said giving me one of his rare genuine smiles, "You're so strong Katherine."

He said the thing that i never believed in but the way he said obliged me to.

"After everything you've went through, after everything you lost you're still so strong, you're still standing on your feet and you're still fighting."

"I envied your strength, because when the past made its way to my life again , it hit me really hard , it made the strength i thought i had drop down , it made me weak again."

"But when i looked at you , when i saw the strong person you became , i thought i can do it too." He paused for a second, "And now , i got the chance to fix the past, and i am going to take it."

"You really thinks of me like that ?" I asked with unshed tears in my eyes.

"Yeah , of course i do." He answered.

"And even though i am unsure about most things in my life." He pressed his forehead over mine and closed his eyes as he continued talking , "I am certain that i love you and i will continue to love you forever."

I love you too.

I love you too Ashton. But I can't seem to be able to tell you these words.

You see me so strong when I see myself so weak.

I am so weak that I can't even manage to tell you how much i love you.

His eyes were still closed , but mine were open as i was staring at him.

"It's scares me how I can't imagine my life without you anymore." He said and as the words left his mouth , the tears left my eyes.

I thought i broke him once before.

But i was wrong.

Because what's going to happen will break him more.

He wasn't supposed to love me this much.

A pang of guilt hit me really hard. But i have no choice.

I can't be selfish and put my life above my baby's life.

I can't do that.

Even if it would break him. I can't !

"Shush, don't cry baby." He said making me open my eyes, his hand went and tried to wipe my tears away.

"I am sick of being the reason behind your tears." He whispered , his voice pained.

"It's not because of you." I said sniffing, "This pregnancy hormones are making from me an emotional wreck."

His hand went toward my small baby bump, his touch made me heart warm up , " Is mini Katherine in there giving you a hard time ?"

I chuckled but my tears still falling, "What if it is a mini Ashton ?" I asked.

"I don't mind." He shrugged , "As long as its ours , I don't give a sh*t about anything else."

"You both are the reason i am looking forward for this life." He added , then pulled me again toward his chest.

I placed my head over it , his heartbeats soothing my pain, "Let's go home." I said.

His hold over me tightened and then he whispered,"You're my home."

Ashton my baby he is being so nice , While Alex and Cara are still figuring things out 😂
