Set out from home early one day

Just got tired of the same old thing

Wanted to see what I could find

About the meaning of this thing that we call life

Saw an old man by the side of the road

Thought he looked like someone who just might know

Asked him what he thought that I should do

He whispered, "Closer, son, I'll give you a clue"

He said, "Blow it, tap it, push it in

Power on, press start to begin

Lead 'em through 'til the level's done

A to jump, and B to run"

Shrugged my shoulders and went on my way

'Til I ran into a friend from back in the day

A pastor's kid, always kept his cool

So I asked him what he thought that I should do

He said, "Just like an old school RPG

Save the world, and set it free

Grab a crew, and lend a hand

Persevere, and make a stand"

Stopped for a visit to the girl I love

To see what she thought life was made of

She gave me a hug and a kiss or two

Then I asked her what she thought that I should do

She said, "Once upon a time there was a knight from above

Who set out to save the princess he loved

He made his way to the vampire king

Slew him with a sacred whip, now wedding bells ring

I guess everyone does their best to play

The game of life in their own special way

So I thought, oh well, I'll make the most of it

Got my sack of quarters...hope they last the whole trip
