#7. Risk it all

Leaving the astounded girl in her room and asking Suji to take care of her, he walked towards Mrs. Lee who gave him irritable glances. Certainly, no mother would like her daughter to get involved with a criminal but then again, this man in front looked like a replica of her daughter's dead lover. Maybe, his presence can cure her.
Maybe, she can live.
With that intent in mind, she motioned him to take a seat and he respectfully bowed his head a little, taking a seat in front of her.
"I'll treat your mother but would you protect my daughter?" She questioned, straight to the point because she knew there was no point in extending the conversation. This man might be patientful but his patience had limits and there was no way he was going to back down from something he had made his mind to.
Without a word, he pulled out his silver gun, a customised gun with the symbol of the Jeon group and passed it towards the woman, making her raise her brow in apprehension. "I'll forever be indebted for your assistance towards my mother and as for Seora, this is the weapon that my father gifted to me, his only gift to be precise. If anything happens to your daughter, you can pull up the trigger and shoot me without care. I'll protect her with my everything." He replied, his voice sounding genuine and the lady's eyes widened in aghast.
What is his motive with Seora that he's ready to get killed for her? The heir to a multi-million dollar company and apparently, the most feared man in the country is giving his word? There was certainly something dangerous behind his motive.
"Why do you need her?" She questioned, unable to quench her curiosity and concern for her daughter.
"Digital Safe– that's the name of her security company, if I'm not wrong?" He counter-questioned, making her brows furrow in perplexity, "She owns an important piece of information that'll be vital for my company." He continued, not giving out much details. The older woman blankly gazed at the male, trying to register the information and wondering whether it'll be safe for her daughter or not.
"May I take her out with me tomorrow, Mrs. Lee?" He got up from his position and ceased the crease of his tailor made suit, whilst smoothly asking for permission.
The woman looked at the male in aghast, not like her permission matters in this case, she was certain her daughter might take her last breath due to shock, if her bubble of Jaechan's death burst out someday and she didn't wish for it to be happening anytime soon. If the chances of Seora's survival are increasing by the presence of this man, she's ready to take a chance.
"You may," She permitted heaving out a sigh and rubbed her temples in dismay.
"A single scratch on my daughter's body and I'll make sure your mother doesn't recover." She continued, her voice suddenly ice cold as she threatened him but he could make out the anxiousness in her tone.
Does she even know whom she was threatening? He could make her entire family disappear like a speck of dust but then again, he couldn't blame a mother's heart– she was worried about her daughter and realising that fact alone made his mind clouded with the thoughts of his mother.
With an abrupt nod, he bowed slightly in respect and made his way out of their house, his guards standing on bay looked at him with curious eyes but none of them had the audacity to question their leader, they don't want the years of their lifespan to be reduced, do they?
"Man, I thought you're going to spend your life in this chicken shit of a house!" Well, there are certain exceptions, like Jimin. He mumbled the words with nonchalance, huffing out a breath but the poor guy couldn't even decipher his next words because a tight punch landed on his face, making him turn to the other side and blood oozed out of the corner of his lips.
"Stop fucking gazing at her sister, you fucking won't be able to bear the responsibility if something happens to that girl because she was involved with you!" Jungkook raised his voice, his gaze filled with rage as held and pulled the other by his collar.
It was crazy that he was aware of the tension between Jimin and Suji because of all the things happening in the world, he was the least concerned about others' relationships. But then again, Suji is Seora's sister and just a few moments ago he gave his word to keep her happy. He can't possibly lose his deal if something happens to her sister, can he?
"Jungkook, you can't–" Taehyung tried to intervene but was cut off from speaking by the man's harsh voice. He was exhausted already by the events of the day, it takes a lot of emotional strength to deceive someone's feelings.
"Not now, Taehyung. This mother-daughter duo is going to be the death of me." He hissed, getting inside the car, followed by his men who opened the door for him and he ordered the chauffeur to drive to the mansion. He needed a drink to calm himself and plan the further steps of this entire game.
Jimin and Taehyung glanced at each other with hanging jaws as they looked at the retreating figure of their boss. Women never really affected Jeon Jungkook, on the contrary, he was the most patientful one amongst all others in the team, when it came to dealing with them.
Just what exactly transpired that the patient boss of theirs got this pissed?

The past twenty four hours were spent deciding whether to accept the proposal of the intruder– who happens to be Seora's boyfriend– or not. She searched about him on the web and the results were gobsmacking. Never in her wildest dreams did she imagine her Jaehoon to be someone leading an empire worth billions, he's a public figure now and it was difficult for her to believe in that fact. Her mother's distressed expressions and her sister's bland replies weren't helping either.
All she knew was that this wasn't the Jaechan she knew three years ago, he has changed– for better or worse, it's still yet to be decided. He asked her to marry him, that dream where she lived in her delusions for such a long time was finally happening, but nothing felt like home.
Maybe because the man she claimed to be her home was apparently, her destruction, the destruction she's unaware of.
Finally, after a tough session of trials and tribulations in her head, she decided to give it a go, soon heading towards her wardrobe which appeared as plain as ever. Fancy clothes never really fascinated her, she liked wearing comfortable clothes over the sophisticated dresses that'll make it difficult for her to even move and for a date at the bakery, a white shirt and a pair of beige baggy pants made the perfect outfit. She left her hair open, after untangling the tiny knots whilst applying a shade of lip tint.
Date.
Just the word made a marathon of memories encircle her mind with all the past events of her life, like some melodramatic movie.
"He's Jungkook now." She mumbled, as she patted her cheeks and shook her head, in an attempt to focus on something else before the memories made a tornado in her head. It'll end up giving her a terrible headache and for sure she doesn't want to look sick, even though she was suffering from inside.
Spraying a tiny amount of perfume as a cherry on top of her look, she nervously got out of her room only to witness her mother's stunned expressions.
"What h-happened, mom?" She fidgeted her fingers anxiously as he asked Mrs. Lee, her expressions on the verge of breaking down as the older looked at her daughter.
"It's been a while since I saw you like this," She caressed her cheeks and tidied her collar. "My daughter finally appears happy..." She muttered and pulled her into an endearing hug, the elder's expressions were masked with happiness and worry because she knew that her daughter might appear happy now but this joy is short lived.
What can one expect from a relationship built upon deceit?
Seora's mouth opened to speak something but the doorbell rang making their heads turn. The elder opened up the door only to witness the man of the talk standing firm with a stoic expression and a bouquet of blue orchids in his hands. He bowed respectfully in front of Mrs. Lee but when Seora came into view, his expressions stilled. He appeared awestruck.
Even though the elder woman was aware of the dangers of this relationship but if her daughter had a chance of surviving...
She was ready to risk it all.
Maybe, this man won't be that bad of a decision after all.
