After an hour of letting himself off his usual character and enjoying the various food stalls at the carnival, the two of them were walking towards the bakery. She smiled a lot today, she appeared happy and he was silently observing all her expressions.
As they walked through the alley, he gently placed his blazer upon her shoulders as she looked at his side profile. Before she could speak something, a man passed besides her and his shoulder accidentally bunked with her, creating an impact.
"Ah!" She hissed, touching the area because that man seemed to be in a hurry, not even apologising for his rude actions.
Jungkook glared at the guy who walked ahead without a care of the world and pulled Seora beside him, only to take large strides towards the man and punch him across the face.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" He screamed as the male hit on his shoulder, dislocating it and clenched his hair making him land upon his knees.
"Be glad I didn't shoot your shoulder. Now, apologise to that woman before I make you regret coming here." He deadpanned, slowly revealing the gun placed at the back of his vest.
Seora ran up to them sensing the commotion, her mouth went agape as she looked at Jungkook's maddened expressions and he concealed his gun as soon as the woman came into view, "Jungkook, what are you doing?! Leave him!"
"I'm... I'm sorry for bumping onto you earlier. Please leave me!" The man apologised, holding for his dear life and ran away at the speed of light, as soon as the enraged male's hold loosened upon him.
Seora was left awestruck by his actions just now. She couldn't decipher what just transpired, Jaehoon would've asked the guy to apologise to her not pounce upon him like predator.
Jungkook was so close yet so miles apart.
Is he even the guy she loved? Shivers ran down her spine as she looked at that maddened gaze, this man scared him. She took a few steps away from him as her hands trembled in fear.
Sensing her distress, he took swift strides towards her only for her to walk back until there was no escape, tears lashed out of her eyes.
"You have become a lot more a-aggressive." She stuttered whilst speaking, her eyes everywhere but him. Violent people were always a big 'no' for her, she was afraid of them. What if they treated her the same way and apologized later for their actions because they were 'angry'?
It was something her father did, always, according to her mother.
To her, these are the scariest kind of men.
"Look here, Seora." Jungkook commamded, as her breath hitched. She looked at him and his gaze softened when it landed at her tearful face. He never wanted to scare her, on the contrary, his patience wore off when that man had the audacity to touch her.
No man dares to lay a finger upon her, not even he, himself.
"Are you afraid of me?" He enquired, searching for the unsaid words of terror that her eyes enunciated. Those tears were affecting him, especially if he was the one who caused them. He would kill the person who dared to make her cry but what'll he do about himself?
Probably, the person who'll be responsible for her misery will be him.
He gently brushed her hair to help calm down as he spoke further, "I swear on my dead father, I would happily choose death rather than to hurt or insult you."
She stared at him in disbelief, did he just promise her something that too, by taking an oath upon his father's name, the name he respects a lot? The weight of his words were so heavy that she couldn't help but believe him.
"Let's go." He ordered as little droplets of water fell on their shoulders followed by more, soon resulting in a heavy downpour. Jungkook tightly held her hand and they ran towards the car, safeguarding them from the heavy unexpected rain.
He made her sit inside the car as he waited outside, "I'll be back in a moment." He informed, before running towards the store which caught her attention before.
His clothes were soaked due to the rain but he cared less about it, he wanted those heels that made her delighted. If those pair of heels can stop those tears, he'll buy the entire store for her.
No, he wasn't infatuated with her, he wanted to keep her happy by all costs so that her memories could return, Heaven could be opened by her and he can finally put an end to this game.
"I wish to purchase those heels." The shop attendant looked at him with surprised expressions mostly, because of his state. He was drenched from top to bottom which honestly, made him appear like a man stepped out of a romance novel. The rain didn't foreshadow his exquisite demeanor, instead it added its own flavour to his charming looks.
"I'm afraid we can't give you those. They're sold out, that was the last pair." She informed, trying her best to sound professional.
"How much do they cost?" He asked with a bored expression.
"That'll be a thousand dollars."
He placed his black card upon the counter as he picked those heels, "Make it ten thousand and wrap these up, quick." He ordered swiftly and the attendant couldn't help but follow his orders.
Paying tenfold the amount of something already so expensive, this man was no normal person.
"Please come again, sir." The attendant happily bowed towards the male as he hurriedly walked towards the exit of the store.
Just as he got out of the store, his phone rang and he swiftly picked it up whilst walking in the rain towards his car.
"We've been calling you from so long, WHERE ARE YOU?!" Taehyung screamed at the top of his lungs and the tone of his voice meant danger. Jungkook's expressions stiffened as his hold on the device tightened, only for him to practically sprint in the rain.
"SHE IS IN DANGER, RUN!" His once smiling face vanished away in the blink of a second as he looked at his car.
He was about to sprint and open the door but a truck came at it's highest speed and crashed into the vehicle like it's some plastic toy kids play with. The impact was so high the car was carried along with the truck as it moved away after the impact.
Everything happened in such a small time frame that the male couldn't register the events of the moment. His hold on the phone loosened as his breath hitched. He stumbled in the heavy downpour to walk towards his car as the box of heels that he brought for her, fell from his hands.
"S... Seora." He mumbled, stuttering for the first time, for someone that he just met.
Seora was inside.
They just talked about so many things, she gave him a sense of peace, she was smiling joyfully, he just promised to protect her...
Marriage. Heaven. Seora.
Father. Mother. Car crash.
A loud bolt of thunderstorm struck up, enough to make any sane person shiver but this man stood there blankly, his face shown under the lightening. Something just broke inside him, he couldn't pinpoint what– his dream of Heaven or his fate with the woman?
Perhaps, his peace too.
"SEORA!" He screamed madly, as he heavily punched the window of the vehicle numerous times, making the glass break and it's shreds peirce into his whitened knuckles.
He was so astounded to even notice the presence of Taehyung and Jimin who came here just a few moments ago, they were equally shocked to witness this anxious expression on that cold and ruthless face. He was almost on the verge of having a mental breakdown, had they not pulled him back. "Fucking leave me!" And it gets serious when he cusses, he is a man of dignity and it's hard for him to break that character.
"She's not inside!" Jimin screamed, trying to make him come to his senses. His hair were sticked to his forehead and his eyes sparkled under the lightening and heavy downpour.
"Jungkook!" The voice he was dying to hear finally made its way into his ears. He turned back only to look at the horrified Seora, who stood at a distance with his army of men along with Namjoon, Yoongi, Hoseok and Jin. She was soaked in the rain too but she cared less as she hysterically ran towards the male.
"Are you crazy?! It's bleeding s-so much!" She worriedly took his right hand in her trembling ones, as tears lashed out of her eyes. But what happened next was not expected by anyone in the gang to ever happen in their wildest dreams.
Father. Mother. Car crash.
The scene of his parents' unfortunate car accident revoked in his brain and functioned like a loop. Those painful images of his parents couldn't leave his mind as he looked at the woman. Would the same have happened to her had she not gone out of the car?
Would he have failed to save her too?
Jungkook stumbled on his knees in front of the woman on the cold road and she too, instantly bent to his level, breaking down completely. He looked downwards for a moment and with shaking hands he wiped the tears off her face, his blood traced on her face as an outcome.
"I'm sorry." He apologized and placed his head at the crook of her neck, as she cried painfully and wrapped her arms around his shoulders. The rain soaking both of them who had bigger things to worry about than just a few droplets of cold water.
Apparently, he was thankful for the rain that soaked his warm tears etching by the cool surface of her neck. He couldn't bring himself to hug her back because he knew, she was concerned for Jaehoon and he wasn't him.
Heaven. He's doing everything for it but why does it felt like death itself when he assumed that something happened to her?
He's the monster of her dreams who has now vowed to protect her from her nightmares.
Heaven knows how...
Can a monster be a protector too?
