safe
Said she would keep me safe,
She said the bad would wash away,
The rain would take it all, one day,
And all the demons die and fall,
Just simply fall.
She reasoned all the seasons,
Tucked away all the treasons,
Lulled the nightmares in her songs,
But, now that all is gone, they just go on,
March along, simply ramble upon, and I simply stumble and fall.
Day by day, I meet so many eyes,
Not found an honest pair as bright,
Fantasies with so many lies,
Either it's all in my head or,
there are no naive belies, no ties, all butterflies.
She said she would keep me safe,
Promised me to fill all heart aches,
Tell me a story every night,
So lucky ain't I to hear her when there's no light?
Lucky ain't I to have her by my side like a butterfly.
She said time turns dust, hearts catch rust,
Night stops by every day,
I see the sun glow all the way,
It just wouldn't stop, and yes, it just hasn't stopped.
There's not been a sob, nightfalls have been robbed. Just simply robbed.
Day and day, I see her again,
She comes to me stuck in that frame,
Flutters past me like the little butterfly she has been,
I fail to catch her or my dreams,
Slip to hold on that missing piece.
Like the story of the Reaper's day,
Like the sonnet of the Reaper's face,
Said she would keep me safe,
She said the bad would wash away,
The rain would take it all, one day,
And all the demons die and fall,
Just simply fall.
