Chap 13: figure you out
Yoongi couldn't get to sleep last night, mind racing full of theories and suspicions. One in particular sparking paranoia and an urge to hunt down everything he could.
"Jones? Could you do me a favour and see what you can find on a man named Jungkook." Yoongi comes strolling towards their tech analyst, placing his sheriff's hat down on the free space on his desk.
The man known as Jones flickers his gaze up from his computer, pushing his glasses up he stares at his superior officer.
"I don't see why not, do you have a last name for this man?" Jones used to question when Yoongi would ask him to do something that wasn't technically on the books but he was the sheriff so ultimately he could do whatever he wanted.
"Yeah, I believe his last name is Jeon. He's married to Jeon Jimin." Yoongi picks up his hat, placing it on his head he leans down.
"Can you make sure to keep this between us? Only tell me what you find okay?" Jones automatically nods, smiling and replying of course like always.
"Good man." Yoongi pats him rather harshly on the back, jolting the slim man from the force.
Yoongi expected they probably wouldn't find anything on the man but he couldn't shake this feeling Jungkook was different. The moment he stepped into the precinct he alluded this dominating almost aggressive hue. He seemed rash, blunt and if he wasn't wrong a little demanding.
The way he stormed in acting as if he owned the place, barking orders at Jimin like he was a disobedient pet who wasn't listening. Letting Jimin leave with the man didn't sit well with him nor knowing there was a young child involved as well. He barley talked to the man but from his experience and knowing the nature of abusers Jungkook ticked every box.
And he suspected he was hiding something or more so Jimin was protecting him. Yoongi using his detective instincts deduced Jimin was being abused by Jungkook but was protecting him out of fear or sake for their child he wasn't sure.
All he gathered certainly was that Jungkook must be a violent man or at least have a bad temper with the way he acted last night. And Yoongi intended on finding out exactly what that man was hiding.
☠️
Machines peeped in the background, a steady rhythm and beat echoing through the sanitised room. Doctors and nurses in scrubs, blue gloves and protective masks.
Jungkook's fingertips flicked against the thin glass, tapping the syringe, letting a small drop of liquid squirt out before plunging the tip of the needle into the wire connected to the women's body. Jungkook presses down upon the end, inserting the liquid it held into the woman's forearm. He counts down, starting from ten then only making it to eight before she's drifting off to a blissful, drugged out sleep.
"Alright she's out, let the surgery begin. Keep an eye on her vitals doctor Jeon." He gives a peachy thumbs up, mask over his mouth sitting on his chair watching the patients vitals.
This was Jungkook's life, one of injecting needles into patients and checking their vitals to insure they stayed stable. To him it seemed pointless, in his view he'd much rather insert the sharp end of the pricking needle into their throats. Slicing their carotid artery, admiring as they bled out, helpless to their own demise.
Sometimes he would fantasied he really did it, injected to much sedative, overdosed them or stabbed them with the sharp edge of one of the medical scalpels that sliced through skin like it was a thin piece of paper.
It had to be one of the best medical inventions, those scalpels could cut through anything with precision and steadiness. He's stolen a few in his time, used them on some of his victims to see how clean they could really cut or how deep.
And the answer was cleanly and very.
He had almost cut a women's throat clean in half from how sharp the blade was. If he didn't have to get home to his husband and teething child he would've sliced her head clean off.
It had its perked working in the medical profession. It taught him things about human anatomy he might never have known if he hadn't studied it.
For example the average human can loose up to forty percent of their blood before it kills you. That's roughly two thousand millilitres or half a gallon. That gives Jungkook plenty of playing room to toy with his victims. He can keep someone just on the edge of death for hours or even days if he so pleased. He knew exactly what the human body could endure before for it became fatal enough to to kill.
Knew what limbs he could cut off and he could still keep you alive or what internal organs he could remove without actually killing you immediately. He knew it all.
Everything a serial killer should when on the prowl ready to murder. A superpower in its own right for someone like him.
A psychopath blood thirsty unable to kill no matter the death count.
"You're looking good today doctor, have you been working out?" One of the many slutty nurses in Jungkook's opinion comes up to bother him with her pointless flirting.
Jungkook doesn't even try hide his scoff or the obvious roll of his milky chocolate eyes.
"Nice to know you're observant nurse Sandy, it's such a shame you're not when it comes to helping patients. How many have died under your care again?" His lips tug into a cruel smirk, enjoying the flattening of her sparkle and frowning of her lips.
She doesn't say anything in return, stunned by the crass bluntness of the Doctor. Jungkook doesn't even bother apologising, simply walking away triumphant.
A few nurses continue to smile or linger their eyes on him for to long when he walks by. He pretends to not notice though in reality he's already thinking up their deaths and his own alibi.
Nurses had to be the worst part about the job, he hated every one of them. Always flirting, trying it on with him instead of doing their jobs. It irritated him and sickened him that they even thought they were worthy of his attention.
Clearly they were just as dumb as they were ugly that they hadn't noticed the blatant wedding ring carved around his ring finger. It sat proudly and boldly for the world to see yet none of the nurses ever seemed to notice it.
He shuns anyone who tried or attempted to engage with him. Much more interested in his phone as he called his husband to inform him he will be picking him up this evening for the little date. He was excited and giddy about the whole thing.
They hadn't been on a date probably since having Bailey. It had been frustrating at first since Jungkook liked routine and it had been disturbed when they adopted their beautiful son. But Jungkook grew to love the boy, fell head over heels for the innocent ball of sunshine. He truly was a work of art, beautiful like Jimin and just as precious.
They both meant a lot to him, very few things did but those two boys were the only thing he cared about in his spiteful life. He'd do anything for them, protect them with his own life if it came to it.
"Hey baby." Jungkook slyly provokes into the phone when the dial tone stops.
"Hi Kook, what are you calling about?" Jimin sounded strained, tired as he spoke through the phone.
"Don't you remember babe? We're going on a date tonight, I'm just calling to tell you I'm on my way to pick you up." Jungkook strolls through the emergency exit of his hospital, being welcomed by the blistering cold that stung his bare skin.
There was an abrupt moment of silence, for a second Jungkook thought he'd lost Jimin on the other line.
"Oh! You were actually serious about that? I'm not sure I can tonight I've got so much work I still need to do and who's going to look after Bailey while we're out?" There was a surprise tone to his voice, like he wasn't expecting it.
Jimin really thought what he had said this morning was a blissful whim, spur of the moment promise to try make him happy and no longer mad. He assumed Jungkook knew he was still cross with him and tried making it better with the home cooked breakfast and offer of a date. He never really thought he'd actually make good on his word.
"We're going on this date Jimin, I want to take you out. This is what couples do, go out together and spend time doing things alone. I've already asked Tae to pick up Bailey from day care and look after him for the night. It's all sorted, no need to worry about anything baby." Jungkook wasn't going to take no for an answer, he was going to take Jimin on a date and show him exactly why he married him in the first place.
A sigh escapes Jimin's lips, giving up on arguing since he knew it would go nowhere. When Jungkook had made his mind up there was no changing it.
"I'm on my way, see you soon love." Jungkook left no room for debate, ending the call and ultimately the conversation.
Jimin huffs in irritation, he really did have work he needed to finish. But now he had to go on a date with his husband who he was still very mad at and still a little paranoid he may be cheating on him. It was going to be a long night and he was already exhausted and worn out from the long day he's had.
Though he supposed a night out would be good for them, give them a chance to talk alone without the interruption of a crying baby. Least if there would be nowhere for Jungkook to run when he started asking him questions about where exactly he had been disappearing off to when he should be home with him and their son.
He needed to know he could trust his husband or otherwise he'd be living a life always questioning every small thing he did.
He was going to find out what his husband has been doing even if what he found out may destroy him.
.......
Guess whose back?🤟
Love you my honeybuns💕
