Robin McKinnon watched the view from his room. Almost at the top of the tower, the Slytherin could see the vast snowy expanse of the forest surrounding the castle. With his hands clasped behind his back, he stood straight as usual. The young wizard tried to spot the lake that Headmistress Leen Connor had mentioned during her opening speech, but he couldn't see it. It was then that he remembered the witch's words: "The lake is one of the many mysteries of Myroam. Few have managed to find it. "A half-smile appeared on his face. This was a challenge he was eager to take on. This holiday was going to be decisive. The young McKinnon had to test himself and train in order to be sure he was worthy.

His gaze was suddenly drawn to a female figure emerging from the castle through one of the towers adjoining the main entrance. He had seen her before. He didn't know her and had never seen her before, but she had been staring at them during the welcome with two other girls. Robin had not been able to determine which school she belonged to, she was not wearing a coat of arms on her jacket. This was not strange, in fact it was the holidays. The need to display one's house was not mandatory.

He did not take his eyes off her. The sun had already finished its nightly descent for a while, what was she going to do outside, all alone? Robin only saw her take a few steps forward, distracted by the violent opening of her bedroom door. He turned around, grabbing his wand as he went. There he saw a spark enter and transform into a dragon. He followed it with his eyes before it exploded.

- Pretty good, huh? asked him Enron, looking proud.

Robin ignored him and went back to the window. Of course, she had disappeared. He sighed.

- Forgive my brother, Robin, he doesn't know where his limits are, excused him Ethan as he entered.

- Oh, I know him. What are you doing here, lion? Robin gently challenged him.

Young McKinnon's room wasn't just his own. He shared it with three other Slytherins, including Regulus and Ethan. Enron, being in Gryffindor, was theoretically not supposed to be there. Only, in Myroam, the rules were a bit more flexible.

- I'm here to get my books, he replied, holding out his hands in his brother's direction.

Ethan sighed and wearily ran his hand through his hair before waving his wand at his bag.

- Accio books!

A huge pile of books flew into Enron's arms and he bent over under the weight. He gritted his teeth before straightening up.

- Too kind, really, he growled. See you tomorrow, Rob!

Robin gave him a small wave in response.

- Where's Regulus? he asked, looking at Ethan.

The dark-haired man, who was putting his suitcase away under his bed, sat up. Robin saw him hesitate, quickly looking at the door before answering evasively.

- He's dealing with something, he's coming.

Regulus and Ethan were constantly together. Robin had never seen them apart, as far as he knew. So something made him think that Ethan didn't really know what his best friend was doing. The young wizard suddenly had the strange urge to go looking for him. Not only because curfew was about to strike, but also because Regulus Black had a way of fascinating him. He couldn't quite explain it to himself, but he felt it was his duty to stay in his vicinity.

- Where are you going? Ethan stopped him as he walked towards the house.

- To look for Regulus.

Robin had answered naturally.

- No need, I'm here, they heard from the hallway.

The young Black quickly appeared before them. Both snakes shared a look as they saw the wizard's outfit. The left sleeve of his coat had been torn off and his fingertips were green.

- What happened to you? asked Ethan casually.

Regulus entered the room and removed his coat. Robin closed the door without taking his eyes off the two friends.

- Dolohov, said Regulus simply.

Dolohov. The name rang a bell. He repeated it to himself several times, hoping it would come back to him. And as he thought, he didn't listen to the two friends whispering.

- He's a Death Eater, explained Regulus finally, annoyed at hearing him repeat the name over and over.

- Antonin Dolohov! he finally understood, not noticing the wide eyes Ethan had given his best friend.

Regulus nodded before sitting down on the edge of his bed. His right hand was trying to clean the green streaks from his fingers. Ethan tossed him a bottle and received a grateful look in return. Robin watched him apply it to his fingers. The marks disappeared instantly.

- What did he want from you? he asked.

- He's watching me...

- Reg! interrupted Ethan.

- I trust Robin, justified himself.

Robin watched the two friends sparring with their eyes. He didn't really understand what was going on, but he could feel the excitement of being part of something serious.

- And what about Barty? Because he's going to get there eventually, began Ethan.

- Barty's become a Death Eater," Regulus interrupted him. He left with Dolohov.

- Barty became a Death Eater? repeated Robin, dumbfounded.

Regulus scowled at him. Robin knew he had used the wrong tone.

- You have a problem with Death Eaters?

Robin shook his head negatively. He had no problem with them. In fact, he had been seduced many times by the rhetoric of the Dark Lord and his followers. Robin had never really felt close to the Muggles. He didn't understand it. All he saw in them was arrogance and fear. The one time he had gotten close enough to a Muggle to talk about his magic, the Muggle had turned on him and beaten him up with his friends, calling him a monster. His mother must have forgotten them. Muggles were responsible for the biggest disasters that had ever happened, and in that Robin could relate.

- Good, said Regulus.

The young Black then rolled up his sleeve. Robin took a step forward. He knew what he was going to see, and yet he didn't seem to believe it. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Ethan's jaw twitch. Clearly, the latter was not in the mood for confidence. A snake's mouth appeared and then his body before Regulus' entire tattoo was revealed. The mark.

- You're one of them, gasped Robin.

- And I have a mission.

Regulus glanced at Ethan, probably in an attempt to get his support. The dark-haired man complied, sitting down on his bed and waving for him to continue. He then stood up and stood in front of him. His gaze was determined, serious...disturbing.

- But before you continue, promise me on Slytherin honour that you will not tell anyone what I am about to tell you.

Such a promise was not in vain. Robin knew that. The honour of his house meant a lot to him. He straightened up, sensing that the moment was important, and nodded. Regulus and Ethan then told him the real reason for their visit to Castle Myroam. Robin had sensed it. This holiday was much more than just a break from school.
