Good morning beautiful people💃💃
It's Christmas Eve
Hope you're good
Merry Christmas in advance 🎅
Belated happy birthday to @RachealBenjamin5
Sorry this chapter is coming late, I wanted to update yesterday but my phone went off two days ago at 95% and I couldn't turn it on again😂 The phone na charge and use now😂. If you know, you know.
You know one funny fact about me? I probably shouldn't laugh over this but fortunately I am, I don't usually wish friends and family happy new year on the 1st because my phone usually gets spoilt on that day 😂
From nowhere!
I didn't even remember that stupid 'pattern' until when the phone went off at 95%.
This is me saying Merry Christmas and Happy new year before I will go AWOL!!!!
I'll drop another tomorrow 🤞🤞
Hopefully
Enjoy and please Vote! ⭐
Thank you🙏
Chapter 11
Unedited
Kilahi entered into her office that Tuesday morning to see her office partner sprinkling water on her side of the office with a small plastic sprinkle bottle . "Good morning Miss Didi" "Good morning." She replied feeling bad about being caught sprinkling.
"I'm sorry, it's nothing diabolic, I'm not trying to steal your destiny. It's blessed water to ward off bad luck" She said answering the question on her mind then she dropped the bottle at the foot of her desk.
"Okay. How was your night?"
"It was fine and yours"
"Great" Her gaze landed on a bouquet of rose flower on her desk. "Who left flowers on my desk?" "Moni did"
"From who?"
"I don't know. It came in this morning, check I'm sure there's a note. Check"
Kilahi lifted the flower removing a note from inside it, then she whispering it "A day is never complete without a smile, hope this puts a smile on your face. Have a blessed day" She smiled turning towards Didi, "There's no name. Are you sure it's mine?"
"They wouldn't have delivered it to your desk if it wasn't for you. Maybe he's a secret admirer, who knows?"
"From where?"
"The office or your male friend, don't you have a social life?"
Kilahi laughed, "I just started to build my social life. What if this is from a stalker? Let me check if there's a secret bomb here" She joked making Didi laugh, "You're not serious, flowers scream love and celebration not war. Yesterday Miss Temi received hers, now it's your turn"
She blushed wondering who this person might be, perhaps Manny. She lifted the flower to her nose and she sniffed the flowery scent.
Her first flower!
Amazing's word came rolling in as an assurance and tears trickled down her cheeks. She quickly wiped them off. After Didi left she called Manny to thank him for the flowers.
"What's up?"
"I saw the flowers you sent and I just want to say thank you for it"
"I'm sorry but I didn't send any flower"
"Really!" She shut her eyes in shame, "I'm sorry" "Someone sent you a flower" "Yes" "He didn't leave a note"
"He did but there was no name"
Manny was silent for a moment, "How am I sure it's mine, I'll just give it back to Mini. I don't want flower wahala" She rolled her eyes and he laughed, "Looks like you've got plenty secret admirers oh, I knew there was something I saw when I asked you out"
Kilahi laughed, "My head is swelling" "Hot cake Madam" "I prefer cold cakes, they're sweeter and that's when flavour comes out" "Oshey, cold cake Madam"
She laughed, "I hope you know I'm just trying to distract myself from the reality of burying my head in shame. I was so sure it was you!" "People usually patronize cake vendors for any kind of party, maybe he's trying to patronize you"
"Without dropping a name. I don't have a single guess, you're the only guy that has ever developed interest In me" "You ended up shenking me remember?"
Kilahi laughed, "I believe the word is friend zoned" "Why do you want to know this one so badly?" "So I can know who to to thank for getting me my first flower"
"Wow. Maybe I should have gotten you a flower"
"Get Hilary a flower"
"Ouch"
Kilahi laughed, "I'm serious, get her a flower" "As what? It doesn't work that way. Flowers sends a message of affection. I'm not planning on leading her on. We're just friends" "I wonder who my secret admirer is"
Gbadamosi got out of the bathroom, white towel wrapped across his waist while a hand towel dried the dripping water from his hair. His phone buzzed so he reached out to answer, "Morning Manny" "Good morning, who leaves a flower without a note"
"How....?"
"She called to thank me for it"
He shut his eyes in guilt, "I left a note"
"No name"
"What was I supposed to write, Pastor Gbadamosi?" "Yes. It's not hard, she would have gotten your number to call you and appreciate you and then you could have just said, hey, I'm wondering if you can be free to have dinner with me"
He shut his eyes In regret, "That actually does make sense but it's not really my style" He replied watching his Mom and Dad walk through the door. "Can I call you back?" He added ending the call.
"Good morning Dad, good morning Mom"
"Good morning Son" He replied with a smiled while his mother gave him a cold look, "Opulent didn't tell me you're both here" "I asked him not to" Mrs George snapped, "He's my security Mom, I pay him to secure the gate"
"Ema gba mi, so I'm the the criminal that barged into your house"
Gbadamosi kept quiet, applied a roll on underneath his armpit while his father took his seat on the bed in order to watch the drama unfold.
"Now you're ignoring me shey?" "When will you stop falling back to emotional blackmail, every time you come. Sometimes I just want to have a normal discussion with my mother and have her understand me and not blow things out of proportion every time"
"Because you never listen to me"
"I have a right to know who comes into the house, even though it's my mother, no offense dad"
"None taken"
"When I get married, is that how you'll be coming in every time?" He asked and her eyes lit up.
Hearing him say that managed to switch on the lights in her eyes, a smiled spread across her face. She was no longer angry. "Gbadamosi, I have never heard you make a positive sentence about marriage. Does that mean you're planning marriage"
Gbadamosi blushed, "I'm not planning, I'm just making an example" "I'm not going to insist before you'll cancel the plan. Since you like doing the opposite of all I ask for" "It's not what you think"
"It's what you think but you're blushing. Okay now!" She chuckled, "But... My son, if you're making this plan, why are you putting Brenda in the dark? Her mother called, said you haven't made a move"
"Brenda is not even in Lagos"
He wasn't even referring to Brenda!
"For now... Is it not because of you she travelled to Abuja? Because you're not giving her the right attention ehn.... Assuming you bombarded her with dates left and right, would she have left? No! Every woman needs attention. When she comes back, cause she'll be coming back for your sister's wedding. Take her on a date, spoil her a little, take her shopping, buy a ring and take things up the notch"
"Mom, I don't think it's Brenda"
"Ehn?"
"I don't feel anything for her"
"Don't even try me, don't and I'm dead serious. How do you want me to look at her parent's face. The last time, Lauretta was talking about the perfect date wedding and I was smiling. How am I suppose to look her in the face?"
Gbadamosi shrugged, "I don't know, you figure that out yourself. I'll like to change now if you don't mind" "You always do the opposite of what I want and it's not fair. Sweetheart, talk to your son"
"How are you doing Gbadamosi?"
"Great Sir"
"How the ministry Is moving stronger"
"We thank God Sir"
"More grace my dear"
"Amen"
Mrs George scoffed crossing her arm, "Sweetheart" "You said I should talk to him" He chipped laughing and Gbadamosi joined in. "This isn't funny" "Mom, I want to dress up" "Gbadamosi"
"The man wants to change, abi do you want him to change in front of you ni?" "Shebi I'm the one that gave birth to him" "Oya take your seat" He answered and she hissed leaving the room.
"You better talk to him"
Mr George rolled his eyes, "Your Mom has been going on and on about this issue" "She'll get tired eventually" "Don't you think.... Feel free to disagree but don't you think you should maybe go on a date with her and see if feelings will fly. You can't force love but you can groom it, all it takes is one spark. Even though they're twins and they have the same face, you know the one you like"
"I like someone else" He wore his trousers underneath the towel.
Mr George arranged his collar, "Let me arrange my dress for this one. Who is she?" "You don't know her" He replied throwing the towel on the bed. "Eh hen... Now you're beginning to see well, you're not longer seeing men as trees. Good, is from a good home?"
"I haven't done my investigation but I feel God Is leading me to her for a reason and I've never felt anything for anyone the way I do about her. Apart from God and the church she's the next thing that has occupied my thought"
"She took third place, even I didn't make it there"
Gbadamosi chuckled, "I'm sorry. Just that.. She makes me concerned, nervous and happy and I haven't even had any reasonable conversation with her." "Do the needful" "I'm scared she might say no"
"You think she won't feel the same way you do"
"Yes Sir"
"There's no harm done in making a move. No matter how scary your mother was, I still made my move. Of course if it's God's plan, then it has to be a perfect will"
"Don't tell mom, I don't want her troubles or her looking into Kilahi's life"
His lips curled into a smile, "Omo Benue, your mother will definitely freak out as you guys will say. As much as i don't like keeping things from her son, I always respect your decision" "Thank you Sir"
Ebonyi State
Mama Ebuka sat with nineteen years old grand daughter Chinaza in the parlor watching a movie on African Magic. "Na so! Punch am!" She commented cackling at the character who was overpowering another femal character in a fight. "I say if Mercy Johnson don dey for film, ọ bụ complete. I don know say e go sweet till the part 3"
Ossy walked in with three of his cousins, they all had a purple and white stripe uniform. Two of his cousins were living under the woman's roof while the other only stay there until her mother comes to pick her up.
His instantly turned his focus on the television; a frown formed on his face. He knew there was no way he'll be allowed to watch his cartoons on Nick toons!
Great! Just great!
His gaze shifted to Chinaza who had a awful make up on her face. How Is no one bothered about her looks??? Ossy shook his head then he remembered he had pending issues with his grandmother.
"Grandma good evening" He greeted.
"Good evening" She replied and two of the cousin sat on the floor to watch the movie while the other perched at the edge of the chair. "Grandma dey just start?"
"Since, the thing sef get part two sef. Make una go piss first"
"We don piss"
"Don't you guys have assignment to do?" Ossy asked frowning at his cousins but they ignored him as usual.
"When it becomes late, don't bring your assignment cause I'll keep you quiet too" He blurted out sincerely now turning towards his grandmother.
"Grandma, I need water color"
"O Chi m... nwata nwoke a ozokwa (Oh God! This boy again!)" She complained, "You are not a painter, instead of you being a painter, I'll take you straight to Onitsha to join your Uncle to sell spare parts."
"It's dr..dr..drawing"
"It's the same thing! You're a doctor, no child of mine will be a painter"
"Un... Uncle Ebuka is mechanic, Uncle Eze sells spare parts, Aunty Nneka"
Mama Ebuka threw a pillow at his face, "Ewu! (Goat) You have liver to be calling my children's work. You are mad! Hei God, it's like one foul Spirit is entering your body and I will remove it for you. Si n' iru m puo! (Get out from from my front!)"
"Can I have your phone?"
"kedu ihe ichoro iji ya eme? (To do what?) What do you want to use It for?"
"Assignment"
"Which assignment Is that?"
"Home economics and Cutural arts"
"How does that concern me?"
"Tha... That..that'ssss where the phone comes in" "What do you want to use the phone for?" "To browse" "You cannot use your head? Others that are using their heads, they have ten heads abi?"
"No. I don't have the textbook, I've been using people's phone but now that you've threatened the whole E... E. Ebonyi state, no one wants to give me their phone"
Mama Ebuka shook her head, "So it's me that warned the whole Ebonyi State. You this small rat, your words dey heavy and you go dey pretend like say you no know. As If I'm not doing it for your good" "Now do me a better good by giving me the phone for my assignment"
"No! You think I was given birth to yesterday okwaya, you want to call your mother abi?" "I won't, you can check the phone later"
"You that know how to operate this machine that even those that produced it. Na my head you wan use. Tupu mmechie anya mepe ma ahukwanagi n' ihu m (Before I close and open my eyes, disappear!). Rubbish!"
Tears made way down his eyes then he walked away. "One month! Good one month, you no go hear her voice, you want to be like that Anuofia!!! (Animal). That onye iberibe that killed your father. I rebuke that spirit in you, I rebuke it"
Ossy sobbed quietly in the room while solving a quantitative reasoning question on the floor. Chinaza walked in, having sympathy on him.
She noticed he was still in his uniform, "Are you not going to change up?" She asked but he ignored her.
"Fighting Grandma is not going to do you any good"
"So I'm sup... supposed to stay a month without speaking to my own mother" "You won't die, I don't even know why you're so close to a woman you didn't grow with, me that even grow up with my own, I can go four months sef"
"Your mother is not like my mother"
"My chest" Chinaza gasped and placed her hands on her chest, "That one enter but true, my mother does not care like that. Or maybe she cares but she can't deal with grandma trouble like your mother. And my step mother and my father.... story for another day. This family Is cursed"
"Can you give me your phone?"
"No. I don't want that woman's trouble"
"For my assignment,"
"You are smarter than everybody combine in this house. I don't want tricks"
"I won't trick you"
"Say God, say if I call my mother let me die tomorrow" She requested but he kept quiet, "You're wicked," He returned back to solving, "Don't just keep your phone around"
"Everyone has changed their password, I'm no longer using that pattern, I'm using password"
"Chigozie" he guessed and she gasped, "How?"
"That's your facebook password, you said I should save it for you because your brain always evaporate information. How can you use your boyfriend's name? I hear they always hack account" "I'll change it again but how will I remember? I'll have to tell you. I'll use his name and date of birth. What is his date of birth, okay... I'll use his name and my date of birth"
"Do you know your date of birth"
"Ama m ubochi amuru m, kedu ihe mere na agaghi m ama ya (I know my date of birth! Why won't I know it?) Why?"
"13 times 5"
Chinanza shrugs, "How am I supposed to know, even books don't have 13 times table" "They do." He paused in thought, "It's 65, I thought you went to primary school" "And secondary school" "What did you learn?" He asked and she pushed his head.
"I learnt your head!" She hissed then she mimicked him, "What did you learn?" She paused and exhaled. "Okwesiri ka agu na agu gi, ga rie nri (You should be hungry, go and eat)"
"kedu ihe isiri (What did they cook?)"
"The same Ofeaku, I boiled white rice"
"You must have emptied the salt jar"
"I nwere onu ojoo (You have bad mouth) Your mouth is too bad" "Please throw the soup away, it becoming salty everyday. When you put the spoon inside the pot, you hear sound of sand underneath, the soup has expired"
Chinaza laughed, "He said expired. You think I don't know? There's nothing we can do about it. Grandma will rather die than waste that soup, when Chigozie brings me food for this evening. Don't worry, I'll share with you"
Ossy nods, "Thank you"
"She snapped her fingers as though remembering something, "Hm! You know I wanted to post pictures on my Instagram page, I was waiting for you to come back so you can come and give me your honest opinion. I feel like this make up thing is my...specialization. I want the world to see me. You know all these videos of make up artiste. How do I look?"
"Like a masquerade on market day"
She paused and pursed her lip in disappointment, "So which part should I clean and change" she asked and this time he scoffed. "Everything! There are more colors on your face than there are on my drawing book. Your face looks like rainbow, what is the red thing on your cheek?"
"It's called blush"
"It looks like you got punched by someone who was trying to defend himself from a certain masquerade"
"Ewo! I used the mirror now"
"Which side, the back?"
"Me that already snap pictures to show you for posting one Instagram, I wanted you to choose because you have eyes"
"Don't let the owner of Instagram see it"
"Ewo! So the owner of Instagram can see it? What will they do with it?" "I don't know but if I created an app and someone posts a picture that looks like you look now, I'll delete the picture, delete your account and send police to arrest the person. Even television always write viewers discretion is advised before the show bad things"
Chinaza gasped. "So you just yabbed me to say, it's not good" "Yes. You wanted my honest opinion right?" "Mehn... Learning this make up Is hard, too hard. You see them using it on Instagram and you follow the step but it will not come out. I give up. They are lying, there's something they're not telling us"
"Why?"
"Be asking me! You that you're there calling me masquerade. Everything is fake!"
"You like make up"
"Yes, it's my passion but I'm not good at it, my rabbit brain cannot do anything" She pouts even more sitting on the floor with him.
"Since you don't want to go to the university, why don't you learn outside, pay and learn. People don't become car....ca.. carpenters from sitting inside their house and watching people hit nails on television. You must be an.... apprentice, besides, you look better without make up. My art teacher will always say, follow your passion"
She picked a tissue wiping the make up off, "Why does this smell like shit?" "Because Isioma and Gloria put it in their bumbum and then they started putting it on our nose as If it's funny to be smelling other people's bumbum"
"Kai!" She screamed throwing the tissue away, "I'm sure this is one that Gloria used! God forbid all of you" She hissed rolling her eyes. "Let me go and wash my face with hypo!" She screamed and he laughed at her.
Friday
Kilahi laid in bed praying and crying, she was just praying ordinarily, she had no idea where the tears came from. "I wave it off, I wave it off, I wave evil off, nothing bad will happen. I declare than we are safe in your hands, this family is safe, the estate is safe, the community is safe, the state is safe, the country is safe. Oh Nigeria, I decree we will move from glory to glory" She paused, "I don't know why this Is coming again, we will not bury again, no dead body will land on our door step. Amen" She remained there quietly.
Sewuese got out of the bathroom, "Babe... I don't want to interrupt your prayers but it's after six already" "Hen?" Kilahi asked in shock, "Jesus! How long have I....?" She pulled her phone close.
"Damn it!" She rose up rushing into the bathroom then she got out, "You didn't flush the toilet, that's not the kind of thing I want to wake up in the morning to see" "Flush it for me now, I love you"
"Why didn't you tap me?"
"You were deep in it, you were crying. I just didn't want to.... I wanted to when I heard you praying for Nigeria, I was like, did your prayer point finish?" She asked and she laughed.
"It was the leading. Sewuese, I just have a bad feeling about today, I feel like we shouldn't go anywhere. Like w should all stay put and pray will this wind passes over"
Sewuese furrowed her brow, she was completely lost. "I don't understand" "I don't know how to explain it" "What will you tell them at work?"
"I don't know. It's just really heavy on me"
"Just message Terdoo, he'll pray on our behalf. You've done your part, leave the rest for God. Nothing bad can happen, shake the thoughts off abeg! Madam, go and bathe, you're going to be late"
Word Foundation Church
Brenda walked into the church, Gbadamosi was at a corner playing the keyboard while a very young girl sang a worship song, running notes. He raised his brow in surprise on seeing her, she didn't even call before coming. She must have gotten good information.
It didn't stop him from playing though.
Just when it got to the highest part, the young girl dropped down meeting Gbadamosi's glare, "Take it up jhoor" "I can't, I ate oily food" "Is there anyday day you don't eat oily food? Every time you eat oily food." He mimicked and she laughed.
"And she's laughing"
The girl faked a tears and he laughed, "I'm regretting why I entered sef. I only came to pray. Now Papa has held me in captivity"
"Funbi, how old are you?"
"20 years"
"20 years and you can't sing"
"Papa don't talk oh, hypothetically, all Pastors wife don't know how to sing, only 1 out of ten"
Gbadamosi laughed.
Brenda knelt before the altar clasping her hands, "God, can you just do this one request for me? Let my stay in Lagos not be in vain, can you make Gbadamosi like me? That's not entirely like an impossible thing to do right?" She paused.
"Please? Amen" She rose up walking towards him, "Good afternoon to you Gbadamosi" "Good afternoon Brenda" He replied flashing a smile at her, "Good afternoon Ma" Funbi smiled, "Can you leave Gbada and I alone?"
"Yes Ma." She shrieked in excitement. "Even the lawful captive shall be delivered" She added bowing her head. "By Sir" She chipped in turning towards Brenda, "Ma, can you sing?" She asked.
"Funbi?"
She laughed running away.
Brenda folded her hands shaking her head, "You shouldn't be this close to your members, especially the females one" "I'm not close to everyone, this one is an exception" He replied still playing the keyboard and Brenda sat opposite him.
"Why?"
"Her result came out yesterday and she had two missing results on an exam she wrote."
"Shit! And she's laughing?"
"That's Funbi for you, she has cried, if you look closely, you'll know she has been crying. She only came to pray to God, I just wanted her to feel better"
"What is she going to do?"
"Wait for God to do deal with it, the lecturers said they won't do anything but God said he's going to do something" He smiled with certainty while playing, "A miracle is about to happened"
Brenda fought hard with lust not to bit her lower lips, he sounded hot just saying that. Is there anything about him that isn't sexy?
Even his spirituality is sexy!!!!
"How are you sure"
"Daniel 11:32, I know my God"
So hot!!!!! That reply was so hot is drove heat down her cores rather than her heart. Every woman loves a man with confidence but a man with confidence in his belief is way way hotter!!!
"Sometimes you have to meet the physical and spiritual need of every member"
"So what are you up to Gbadamosi"
"Nothing much Abuoluwabamise"
She rolled her eyes, "Urgh! You know I hate that name" "It's a beautiful name, it has more meaning than Brenda" "Brenda mean sword" "What are you swording? AnuoluwaBamise means, the mercy of the Lord has done it for me"
"It's a mouthful"
"There's Anu"
"I don't like the name, period!"
He laughed shaking his head, It brought back old memories. "Remember those days you'll call be AnuOluwa and I'll get really pissed off?" "I was just thinking of it"
"We such great times"
Gbadamosi stopped playing, "Why did you stop, i was enjoying it" She encouraged and he being a man that loves compliment continued playing, "Wanna sing something?"
"No. Let me hear you sing, you've always been good with your mouth and fingers" She chipped in and he took his fingers off the keyboard looking up at her.
"I didn't mean it that way"
"What way did you mean it"
"Okay I meant it that way. Do you think I haven't been thinking about it. I'm not a saint you know. You said you were going to teach me but you haven't called me for Bible study yet"
Gbadamosi shut his eyes in guilt, "I'm sorry, I've been busy. What about next week?" "Sure, everyday of the week, you're going to be seeing my face consistently next week"
"I'll be more than happy to lead you to Christ"
Whatever baby, just lead me anywhere I'll follow your ass wherever you go! She said within while flashing a smile.
💌I hope this love letter doesn't get lose in transit.💌

Sefa decided to post on whatsApp
My first and last crush.
Love you in all shades
❤💙💚💛💜
She post the update exempting her family members from seeing it, including Sewuese and Kilahi.
Teju called in almost immediately, "I just saw you post, I should be the 1st viewer" "Whaaaaat? I have like 20 views already" Sefa answered in bed, her two foot against the wall.
"Do you know how many views I usually have?"
"I miss you"
"I miss you too"
"Can you come over?"
Sefa sat up and folded her legs, "I can't come over, my sister is still angry small" "Should I come over and at least see your face? I miss you, and you know I'll be travelling out of the country for my Uncle's wedding" "If someone hears you now, they'll think it's London or Canada. They won't know it's Ghana you're talking about"
"Is Ghana not abroad? Still, I'll miss you. You know that coincidentally, ASUU's warning strike starts next week, dad says I'll spend time with him if the strike persist, to learn the art of being a mechanical engineer"
Sefa exhaled, "So we won't see till... Wow. Okay, I'll like to give you a goodbye kiss before leaving" "All I want is to see your face and have a talk with you. Hopefully ASUU will call off the strike" "So you don't want to kiss me bah"
"I do, badly but, let's not make it the basis of our meeting. I'm tired of looking at you like a stranger. I saw Aunty Sewuese the other day, she was carrying face for me"
"Let's meet at Dotun's place"
Dotun is one of Teju's colleague and friend. "Shey you said he went to island to see his parents for the weekend"
"Yes."
"And you're always with his keys. All i just have to do is come up with a story to tell Mom"
"We don't have to lie, why don't you just come over. My house Is just along the street oh and we want to take three hours journey to do what we can do here" "Dotun's place is fine and more private if you know what I mean"
"Yes but.. We've never done all night things"
"It's thrilling just thinking of" She replied biting on her lower lip.
"Meet me at the bus stop in one hour"
"What? How are you sure they'll allow you"
"Are they not my parents? Leave it to me baby"
Kilahi arrived home earlier than usual, at 3 o'clock, she was seated on the floor cutting the aso ebi material that Temi gave to her. She had less than five hours before Temi's bridal shower and she has to stay over till the following day and her clothes were still in pieces.
"Hei! If I successfully sew this thing today, i'll just kukuma call myself a miracle worker, I'll open church and be healing people" She joked and Aunty Mabel laughed standing close to her.
"You could have done It since now"
"This week has been choked up and I had to be visiting Caroline too"
"Shey you said you were let off by 12 today"
"Yes. I had to see Hilary"
"Who is Hilary?"
"A new friend"
Aunty Mabel smiled, "For someone that went through university and NYSC without having a single person you can call friend. You're having friends these days oh, oya how many friends do you have now?" "Um.... There's Miss Temi, there's Manny, Moni , she's our secretary, the gate man, turns out he's a TIV man, he just found out recently that I'm from Benue and he's been speaking TIV to me. There's Didi, my office partner, there's Joy, Memunat, she works in the foundation too, she's so considerate, Caroline my little friend, and there's Hilary my new friend. Pastor Amazing is my spiritual mother, she's a friend in a high place"
"In less than a month, this is already a miracle on it's own. What God cannot do does not exist oh"
Kilahi rushed to the sewing machine sewing the pieces together, "This machine should not even give me problem" "Toh, you could have asked me to sew It for you. It won't be like Victoria's own but at least. It will save you the stress"
Kilahi halted at the mention of her mother's name. The machine was the only asset she got from her. After her parents death, it had to be moved to Lagos because she insisted she won't leave without it.
It's more or less the only inheritance she got!
"Mehn your mother can sew that year"
"Yes she could..." Her eyes watered and Aunty Mabel knelt before her, "Sweetheart" "Aunty Mabel, I'm fine. I don't want anything slowing me down"
"I better leave you to be" She rose up and Kilahi continued peddling the machine.
Sefa walked into the sitting room hissing loudly while pressing her phone, "Will this girl just leave me alone?" "Who?" Her mother asked in interest.
"Geraldine,"
"What is it?"
"I don't want to talk about it. So she has been inviting me for this all night at her church, I told her that I can't come and I'll follow live now she's making me look like a devil because there are free buses carrying people there"
"And you don't want to go?"
Sefa exhaled, "I don't know, I don't feel like it but she's saying it will be impacful. They're blessing mantles and making impactations" She explained showing her the flyer.
The program was real though, the only fake was her intention!
"Wow, if you don't feel like going fine!"
"She's making me feel bad and if I sleep in this house, I won't sleep well so why go through that when I can just force myself and go. It's not as if I'm paying money sef"
"I'll give you offering so you can pray for our family finances and growth"
Sefa smiled staring at Kilahi, "Aunty Kilahi, will you come with me?" She asked, Of course she knew she had a wedding to attend.
Kilahi didn't answer she was busy sewing. "Aunty Kilahi?" "What? Sorry I wasn't listening" "Geraldine invited me for a church programme and I'm going" "Don't. I had a bad feeling when I woke up this morning"
"It's a church meeting oh. I'll cast and bind every bad feeling. Do you wanna come with me?"
"No! I have this bridal shower and wedding tomorrow" "Feels like yesterday that i was mocking you for not having friends. It's just amazing that you're moving from not having a social life to having something that looks like it"
"Shey?" Her mother agreed and Sefa chuckled.
"I'm happy for you Aunty Kilahi. Ehya... too bad you can't come with me" She groaned forcefully, deep down she was elated, "Let me come and ask Geraldine if the bus has moved then I'll now dress up. I hope the bus is full oh" She grumbled walking away and her mother shook her head.
"You better start liking church things, maybe finally God will give you this admission"
"Amen oh" pushing out her tongue out playfully. So easy!
Teju puts a call through to his friend Dotun, "Guy how far" "I dey jhoor...You?" His voice resounded, "Sefa and I just want catch up for your house this night,"
The guy laughed, "That kain catch up" "Shut up! I hope you're cool with it" "Dude, my house is your house, it's not like it's your first time now, why you need ask" "I needed your permission" "Mr. I need your permission, I don hear. Wait, did you say this night?"
"Yes"
"How Sefa wan do am?"
"She said she's going for Church Vigil"
His laughter resounded on the phone making Teju itch, "Stop am now" "Whoa, sorry, no vex but.... I hope say you know say that lie dey jinxed" "What lie?" "The Church lie now, there's a high possibility of something bad happening when you lie using vigils, your car might break down and you might not end up having that sex you wanted to have. Sometimes, your body go taya from pepper way God go show you, you go see the girl sef, vex no go gree make your kini stand"
"Speaking out of experience?"
"Nope, don't mind me, it's just a myth. I never use church lie before"
Teju exhaled, "I was so scared there for a moment." "You guys can use my place as you like" "Thank you" "Just don't break my bed" He teased and Teju hissed hanging up.
Gbadamosi got a call from his security man, while slicing vegetable for dinner. He answered the call putting It on loud speaker. "What's up?" "Sir, you have a visitor" "Who?" "Miss Brenda Sir"
He arced his brow in surprise, twice in a day, wow!
"Should I let her go into the house?"
"No. I'll meet her outside, thank you"
"OK Sir"
It seemed harsh but it's a very standard procedure he follows to avoid unnecessary seduction experience and crazy rumours spreading about the whole place.
Brenda rolled her eyes then she glared at opulent, do you have any idea how embarrassing this is?" "Ma, it's standard procedure, I can't let you in until Papa comes"
"Wow. Did you see my parents the other night?"
"Ma, that's not the problem at hand"
"Do you have any idea that I'm his future wife?"
"Ma, that's not the problem, at least you're inside the house and not outside"
"Don't you think it's demeaning for a woman like me to be standing her like a fucking mannequin?"
Opulent passed her his chair to sit on, "Feel free to seat Ma" he said at the chair and she gasped in shock, "This is unacceptable!"
Gbadamosi got to the gate to find her frowning with her arms crossed. "Good evening Brenda" "What's good about the evening?" She snapped and he clapped his hands.
"You just gave a typical African mother's response. Join the queue"
This forced a laughter from her, "I'm not happy, don't try to wiggle yourself out of this" "I've never really known how to wiggle" "Really Bada? Really? You're going to pretend like you didn't leave me out here for twenty minutes"
He clasped his hands apologetically, "I am sorry Brenda, it's just standard procedure" "He said the same thing" "I'm sorry. What are you doing here? We already spoke in church"
"I was preparing to meet Temi for her bridal shower and then the thought occurred to me that why not start your bible study this night. I don't know if it was God but I sure heard a voice"
Gbadamosi scratched his head, "Uh... Let's reschedule, not yet. I was cooking before..." "Oh." She pouts, "I can't come for nothing, why don't you take me on an introductory phase and then...we'll reschedule"
"Just stay by the pool, I'll meet you there" They both walked in, "I'm glad you're willing to take this serious, you'll need it to grow your relationship with God. Intimacy is key"
"Hmmm"
The only she heard was intimacy!
When Gbadamosi left her at the pool, she zipped down her gown, taking it off. She was left with a red bra and bikini. Then she sat at the edge of the pool pushing her legs in before jumping into it.
He returned back with a new bible, a copy of the devotional, a book by Kenneth Hagin titled growing up spiritualy, all in his hand. Only for him to wish he brought a towel instead. Brenda was flashing a smile at her, "While I was waiting, the thought occurred to me to take a swim"
"The same thought that told you to come here shey?" He asked feeling deceived. She didn't come for any bible study! How stupid of him to believe that!
He dropped the books on the chair returning back into the house to get a towel. By the time he got out this time, Brenda was out of the pool shivering from his cold look.
"Bada"
"Cover up, dress up and leave"
"I was just swimming"
"It wasn't just a swim and you know it! You came in here to tempt me, you wanted to know what my reaction will be when I see you. There you have it Brenda, please leave!"
"Can we just"
"Didn't you say you had Temi's bridal shower to attend?" "What am I supposed to do Gbadamosi, I like you" "Stop trying to tempt me, it doesn't speak well of you and I find it quite repulsive too. Take the books along with you"
Brenda scoffed, "Screw you and your fucking book Bada!"
Terdoo👆
7:02 pm
Sefa's picture in front of the church popped into Sewuese's phone and she sighed in relief. "At least I'm sure she's there"
Terdoo stepped into Sewuese's room, a school bag dangling from his arm. "Good evening, wonderful family of God" He said and she jumped up rushing to hug him. "Did you miss me that much?"
"Yes! All these you fellowship people are taking you away from us. Abi Is it fellowship girlfriend?" "I don't have a girlfriend, I'm a Papa in the fellowship, I have an assignment to God, I don't want to add another burden to it"
"Ouch to all the women crushing on you"
"Do you know how demanding girls can be? I can't count the number of girls that brings me food flask with different food so I can choose them. I no dey do, my time is for God and the things of God. I can't juggle the two just yet"
"Thank God, you're here, I was looking for a gist partner, I'm bored. I miss you like crazy and mad joined together"
"Abi it's because you don't have a boyfriend anymore. I'm sure you wouldn't have been home"
"Don't make me feel bad"
"Feel bad oh cause it's the feeling bad that will give you perspective in your next relationship. Do you have any idea how long I've been praying for God to do something if the relationship is only meant to waste your time. My dear sister" He held her chin up, "It tarried but God did it finally"
She laughed going back to the bed, "You all are responsible for my break up" "Abegi! Where's your other gist partner Aunty Kilahi, I haven't formally congratulated her on her job yet." "She went for a bridal shower?"
"Kilahi?"
"I'm serious"
"How? What happened to the world? Halleluyah! Kilahi is going for a social gathering. Did she even attend Durojaiye's own?"
"No"
"Wow.... This means new things are about to happen. Wow, I won't be shocked to find out she's going on dates and falling in love"
Sewuese gave him a look to confirm his guess, "It's a lie" "She went on a date though, she's not in love with the guy but I think there's another person she likes, he's a Pastor"
Terdoo danced, "I've always had that feeling, urgh!" He sat on her bed smiling, "Omo e be like say this gist plenty. I actually came here for a teens programme at Gospel faith church Ikeja branch. I'm a guest minister there"
"Oh. Our Pastor in the making"
"Where is that big head Sefa, na she carry me come too"
"She went for a church vigil in her friend's church"
Terdoo's facial expression changed, "Are you sure?"
"Yep! She sent a picture like right now"
Terdoo scoffed, "Are you sure?" "Yes" Sewuese quickly grabbed her phone and pulled up the picture, "See her now, I had my doubts at first.. but in my own case, I had a reason for it but why are you doubting? Is there something you know"
"I saw something while preparing for this teens programme, I will be talking about abstinence and sex. I was like I'll drag Sefa if I have to"
"Sefa that's claiming adulthood, will she want to attend?"
"She has to, even if she's feeling sleepy"
"What did you see?"
"Among some certain unpleasant people, my sister was in the midst, falling into a hole. I just assumed she's probably thinking of engaging. Is she having sex, the last time I asked was early December"
"She is"
"Jeez! When"
"December, during the holiday. I was pissed off too"
Terdoo exhaled and clenched his fist, "Maybe I'm getting the interpretation wrongly, it seemed like something about sin but there's a hole she'll fall into because of it. Are you sure this is a vigil cause it was a clear warning for her"
Sewuese nods, "Yes. Did Kilahi call you, she said something about having a bad feeling and I told her to call you" "She didn't" "Maybe she forgot. Our sister has been busy."
"What does this mean?"
"Let's take our minds off it, nothing bad will happen"
Sefa and Teju got out of the church and a man walked up to her smiling, "Good evening young lady" "Good evening Sir" "Are you two here for the meeting?" "Uh... Yes Sir"
"Are you sure?" He asked and She scoffed, "Excuse you?" "Why don't you stay for the programme? There are more you can receive" "I don't understand, what part of I'm here for the programme didn't you get?"
"Then where are you going to?"
"My friend...our friend, he said he's outside, that I should pay his transport. I'll be back Sir before you know it" She lied leaving the church premises with Teju, "That was wierd" He commented and she shrugged, "Probably a Pastor"
"Let's just attend the programme, Dotun said something about the church jinxed"
"What church jinx? I won't be the first to lie using church, neither will I be the last. It's the oldest lie in the book. You're putting me off seriously"
Teju exhaled, "Okay... Whatever you say. I hope this doesn't turn out to be a mistake" "It won't. You'll see"
Kilahi entered into the hotel room where the bridal shower was supposed to hold. All eyes turned to her, "Hey Kilahi" Temi screamed happily rushing to hug her. She had a peach colored robe along with her friends except those hired to take footages of the party. "I've missed you these days of taking off. How have you been?"
"Fine Ma" She paused staring at everyone in the room, from the two beautiful pregnant women, to other ladies, to a woman holding a camera and another setting the camera reflectors.
"Good evening everyone" She greeted, "Good evening!" They screamed waving at her. She seemed like the odd one out, they were really mature ladies in the room. She also didn't understand what the two pregnant women were doing there.
Isn't bridal shower supposed to be like for singles???
She was lost staring at Lota's pregnancy bump, "Eweh oh! Temi, she dey wonder why pregnant woman dey your bridal shower" Lota yelled and Temi laughed. "Not exactly...It's your business, I was just thinking of It in my mind"
"I got pregnant out of wedlock"
"Me too, are you going to judge me" The other added.
"You guys should leave my Kilahi alone abeg!" Temi yelled laughing then she returned back to sitting on a decorated chair. "Come closer dear, you're welcome. Ignore my friends, all of them are married except Dami who is my Maid of honour. I don't have much unmarried friends, not the ones I can invite for my bridal shower. They are also on my bridal train"
Lota screamed, "E go choke! Jaws go drop commot for people face, let's carry super glue cause we'll be gumming jaws literarily"
"That's right!!" Dami screamed fiddling with her phone. "Some people are going to be looking at us with bad eyes. For example your Mom who thinks you should change your train"
"I can't have strangers on my train, I added Brenda. Are they not happy enough? Where is she sef?" Temi replied staring at Kilahi who seemed out of place.
"Hey Beauries, meet Kilahi Agbo.
Dami dropped her phone and slammed her hands on the dresser table, "Upstand greet!" "Good evening Kilahi, we are happy to see you, God bless you Ma" They all chorused except the ladies behind the camera. They all busted into laughter afterwards.
Kilahi stood still in shock. What just happened?
"Nice to meet the Kilahi, you have been talking about" Lota walked up to her, "Welcome dear, don't mind us oh. We are crazy like that, the pregnancy hormones heightens it too. Do you have a boyfriend?"
"No"
"Why?"
"I don't know"
"Your robe is on the bed, you can change up"
"I'll use the toilet Ma"
"Huh?" Everyone asked, "I'll change in the toilet" "Eweh oh! What haven't we seen before oh, madam is you kpekus different from our own?" "Guys! Back off" Temi snapped, "She needs her privacy, abi Is it you guys privacy?"
"Wait... Are you a virgin?" Dami asked walking close to her, "Oh my God, this girl is a virgin, how old are you? 23, 24, 25?"
"26, this year will make me 27 though but who's counting" She shrugged.
"All hail Kilahi, damn! Your ancestors must be proud of you oh"
"Are you sure she's not the ancestor?" The other pregant woman added and everyone laughed including Kilahi. "Babe! I swear, I celebrate your resilience on a different level." Lota remarked, "May God give you a good man that will break that hymen"
"Amen" Dami quickly picked up glass of wine raising it up for dramatic effect, "Double Amen!"
"A good man that will make you feel damn good and make your legs go weak" The other pregnant woman added jumping in bed and Temi threw a pillow at her.
"Glory!!"
"What? That was how I got pregnant"
Kilahi blinked her eyes, "Oh no, I didn't just see that" "Glory see, what you've caused. Now we have to sprinkle her eyes with Holy water, shey you have seen?" Lota asked with all seriousness then she walked towards her bag, "Shoot babes, I forgot my holy water, who brought one?" She asked and everyone except Temi started checking their bags then they busted out into laughter at the same time.
Kilahi laughed shaking her head, Sewuese's craze Is small compared to these women!
Dami picked Kilahi's robe handing it to her, "Dress up baby, either in the toilet or here, you won't even see us looking at you" "It's not that, I have..... I have embarassing scars" "Is It more than the one I had during my son's delivery that they had to tear my vagina. Ask everyone, they all saw the scar" Lota chipped and everyone nodded.
"You forced me to see that thing" Dami complained.
"Well, mine are scars from an accident I had, I'm not always comfortable"
Temi nodded, "Kilahi, it's fine, you can use the bathroom" "What's fine, you na psychologist and me sef na psychologist. You can't say it's fine. What's fine about being ashame of you body, scars or not, bullshit! Fuck the scars, those scars are part of you. Start now by attacking those fears before they consume you. Madam start stripping!"
Kilahi giggled, "I feel like I'm about to be molested" She muttered and everyone laughed, "Please no one should look at me" She dropped her a school bag containing her dress and shoe for the following day.
"We won't look, just do your thing, you won't know we exist"
She unzipped the gown she wore, now taking it off. It was her first time changing in front of this number of people, she didn't even do it in NYSC orientation camp!
People usually ask how she miraculously dresses up without them noticing.
All eyes became fixed on her. Not like they all promised. She had a black bra on and a blue shorts on. "She even has small ukwu" Lota complimented and Kilahi felt ashamed shutting her eyes.
"You promised" She groaned not facing them.
Lota stood close to her holding her by the arm. "Babe, chill, let me be your mirror baby, you're beautiful, your body is beautiful, no amount of stretch mark can make my body less sexier and I have like 20 on my ass"
"You did not say 700, almost as though she fought with a tiger" Glory chipped and Lota busted into laughter, "I do fight with a tiger frequently, isn't that how I'm pregnant"
"Oohh" They all muttered playfully while laughing.
"My point Kilahi is, did i get the name right?"
"Yes Ma"
"My name is Lota, if you don't appreciate your body well enough, no man will appreciate it too. You're no different from those models on the runway, the only difference is the confidence they wear on their face. I'm sure people must walked up to you to say all sorts of shitty things about your body. Babe, if anyone ever asks you why you look this way. Look them in the face and ask them, if their mother is finer than you"
"I can't say that"
"Or tell them Fuck you, with confidence"
"I can't say that either"
"But you get my point right? It's all about the confidence. Know your worth, babe, I don't know you from Adam but I can see that you're worth more than rubies, you know how I know that? Proverbs 31:10, a good woman is hard to find, far precious than rubies. Know your worth beautiful" She advised taking her hands off
"Thank you" Kilahi smiled wearing the robe while Lota smiled watching her tie the robe. "Is it compulsory, you hold a bridal shower in a hotel?" "No one set that standard, I have family members in my house so..... We can't exactly have that privacy" Temi replied and she nods in understanding.
"Is this your first bridal shower?" Lota asked,
"Yes"
"Awww. Get my number after today, I'll like to see you on your wedding day" "You'll be waiting a long time cause.... there's no one yet" "My brother is single oh, single and hot as fuvk, doing baddest bachelor, up and down around Lagos"
Kilahi scrunched up her brow in doubt, are you sure he's not a Yahoo boy, she asked within and Lota laughed as though reading her thoughts, "Babe, chill, he's not a yahoo boy. He's just your normal handsome man just looking for the right woman to get married to"
"I know of a certain person that might have interest too" Temi added referring to Gbadamosi and Lota smiled, "Hehehe, looks like it's going to be a tug of war oh cause I'm not letting my eyes off this one"
Temi laughed rolling her eyes, Lota wasn't joking. She's definitely going to bring her brother into the picture. She rolled her eyes again, Gbadamosi better act fast!
"Let the most suitable win then" Lota added. By this time Lota had forgotten about the bridal shower, she was now pulling up pictures, advertising and marketing her brother.
Kilahi smiled on seeing the pictures. He clearly like photoshoot! But no kidding, the guy is fine sha! Lota kept on scrolling through photoshoots her brother.
"His name is Doctor Ugo, he's a doctor and forget all this fine face, he doesn't have HIV" She laughed now was handing Kilahi the 'I'm next' decoration topper to hold. "You are next in line baby"
"What about... Her?" She pointed at Dami who walked up to the bed to pick two that had, 'Maid of Honour and I'm taken card' on it, "Babe, my wedding Is next. You can have it, prophetess Lota has decided"
"I don't have a Boyfriend"
Lota gasped feeling insulted, "Look at this girl oh, wasn't I showing you your future husband a while ago" She asked with so much certitude and confidence. This forced a hearty laughter from her.
"I don't know if I will like his personality"
"Ugo is ....the guy stubborn sha but as the big sister, I'm doing my job to help him settle down. Don't worry Baby, the God that did it for all of us will and can do even more. Gather round girls, it's time to start with an opening prayer"
Brenda walked in with a bag, "Good evening everyone, I brought champagne guys." She paused staring at Kilahi, "Hey you. So.. What have I missed?"
"Nothing much. We were about to start opening prayer, let's all form a big circle like our mother's cooking pot around our pretty bride"
"Oh" She dropped the bags and They all stood in circle around Temi while the hired female photographers took pictures and video of the moment. "Kilahi pray and I'll round off the prayer" Lota chipped and she exhaled.
She wondered why she had to be handpicked but what the hell?
"Thank you Lord for this day, you said in your word for everything there is a time and a season and you definitely make all things beautiful in your time. You are the God that have seasons in your hands, you decorates and add no blemish to it," She paused and smiled in tears.
The prayer hit her hard, God decorates and add no blemish to it... Why then does she feel like she has blemishes all over? She snapped out on remembering she was praying.
"That is who are you God, we stand in awe of your greatness and we have come to say thank you for this day and thank you for Mrs Temi"
Thank you Lord
"We commit her wedding unto your hands cause we know marriage Is an institution created by you, Father have your way"
Amen
We come against every evil agenda against the union, we stand and we remove every mountains and stumbling blocks to the success of this marriage
Amen
"Tomorrow is another day Orchestrated by you and it will be marvelous in our sight. We open this bridal shower in the name of God the father, Son and Holy Spirit"
Amen
Lota opened up her eyes winking at Temi, "She's my brother's wife" She mouthed and Temi giggled. If she's insisting on this, she'll act on it.
She feared for Gbadamosi. She wanted to talk her against the idea but how will she do it in front of everyone and her?
Teju entered into the room, "All this stress for what?" "Ouch" Sefa replied slowly unbuttoning the pink gown she wore, "Why do I have a bad feeling? Like my pull out game might not go smoothly and you'll get pregnant"
"I'm safe"
"It's tricky"
"You always have a condom"
"Babe, I'm scared"
"Well.. don't be. Don't let all this scar get into your head, nothing will go wrong." She bit her lips, by this time the gown had been unbuttoned way down to her navel, revealing the strapless zebra stripe bra she wore.
"Is that new?" He asked and she nods, "Do you like? You can do me the honours of taking if off, so do you like it?" She asked biting her lowers lips and he nods smiling, "Say it out loud" "I love it" "Now tell me that it worth the stress" she ran her fingers across his lips and he smiled.
"It was worth seeing your face and standing so close to you before I leave, that is the only thing worth the stress"
"I can still take that" She kissed him. Her kiss was hot, hungry, demanding. then she pushed him down on to the bed. She knelt down unstrapping his belt and then she clawed at the zipper, yanking it down.
"I think we should firs.." He couldn't complete his word when his eyes shut in pleasure. "Oh my.. Fuck!"
In between the party and fun, Kilahi felt uneasy concerning Sefa so she went into the toilet with her phone to call her.
Sefa and Teju pulled their mouths together as her vision blurred under the onslaught of pleasure. "Oh God" She muttered. Her orgasm rolled up through her body. She shuddered, whimpered and then crashed against his chest.
After this time they were both tired, "Your phone" Teju whispered, "Leave it, who picks calls in church anyways?"
Shortly after the bridal shower, the girls had all gone to their respectively booked room. They'll reconvene the following morning to prepare for thr wedding. Temi was fast asleep in bed while Kilahi sat on the floor chatting with Sewuese.
How was your first bridal shower?
It was awesome😊
The ladies here are so nice, they treated me like family, I wasn't out
Awwwn
I'm only worried about how the wedding will go, can you come and keep me company? Temi will be busy, it's her wedding and the others will have their husbands and kids there, Manny Is practically the Best Man. I won't have anyone to talk to😩😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭. Well except Hilary but I need you there, please?
Sewuese sends a sticker
Now I'll have to start looking for which cloth to wear. What's the wedding color?
😂🤣 Are you part of the family?
No I'm not but at least I won't want to be left out especially when they're sharing souvenirs
Peach, sky blue and Onion pink
I know just what to wear
Awn, thank you! You're the best😍😍.
I know but you can say that again! 😉What time is the church wedding?
9 on the dot. Have you heard from Sefa? Called her she didn't pick
Exactly. She's not picking up her call, it makes sense because she's in church. She sent me proof in front of the church. Geraldine has posted like two videos of the church programme already so I think it's definitely legit. We have nothing to worry about
Kilahi exhaled not sure of what to type.
If you say, I'm just feeling weird. She's in church right? I guess I should stop worrying. When she comes home, just let me know okay?
Yeah, that's if she comes back before I leave
Abi. Good night Sewuese
Good night Killi😘
She heard cries from the bathroom so she walked in finding Brenda crying while taking a shower, "Sorry" she apologized for seeing her nakedness.
Brenda got out dressed in a bra and shorts then she sat close to her. "I'm sorry I walked in" "It's fine" "I heard you crying" "Yea.... Today turned shitty in ten seconds"
"I'm sorry, I hope nothing tragic happened"
"Something tragic happened"
Kilahi's heart broke, "Was any life lost?" "No! It wasn't an accident, it's my heart that broke" "Oh. I'm sorry, I really don't know much about guys so... I can't really say anything"
"How can you like someone, you see him and you just want to eat him like a piece of meat but he treats you like a piece of shit"
"Eat him?"
Brenda rolled her eyes, "I like him, a lot! I wanna have sex with him but his calling prevents him from doing that" "What calling?" "He's a Pastor" "Oh"
"Him and i, we used to hit it off together back in the days. He was not my first but we had this relationship going on, we hit it off everywhere, in the bathroom, in the room, on the floor. There was no limit to what we could do. Then I left completely and I come back to find out he's a complete different person tied to the calling of God upon his life. At first, I thought it was just a fluke, like he was pretending, like I could actually break him but then he made it clear that he wasn't promiscuous as the others. When he came back that night to apologize to me, it woke up feelings and I started to remember why I loved him then. That compassion in his eyes, Gbadamosi Is the sweetest man in the world"
"What?????" She asked in shock, "Like Pastor Gbadamosi, Pastor of Word Foundation Gospel Church abi, is it without gospel? You get my point"
"Yeah... I shouldn't be saying this tp. What am I doing?"
"I won't tell anyone"
"You know there's just something about Gbadamosi's look that gets you all weak to your knees. It's fatherly, it's brotherly, it's lover like, it's the package all wrapped in one. That concern, that guilt look, that need to satisfy people, he has always been that way"
Kilahi exhaled, she can relate sha! The guy definitely has physical charms he's using to hold women.
"He sure has that charms" Brenda added and Kilahi agreed. "I was saying the same thing too!" Kilahi smiled causing Brenda to arc her brow at her.
"You did"
"Not in that way! Personally, I've always seen him as a womanizer, but some comments about him just makes me want to reconsider"
"He's not. Take it from me, there's no seduction move I haven't tried out. The only thing I haven't done is to wait for him naked in bed"
Kilahi winced at the thought, "Isn't that desperate?" "I'm as desperate as fuck! I'm beginning to like him, for real just like I did years ago. Gbadamosi is my parent's dream husband and now my dream husband. He's so good"
"You're saying all these sweet things yet you're crying over him."
"I went over to his house, so i decided to go swimming in it with ulterior motives. I haven't done shit when he came and told me to cover up. I've never felt more embarrassed in my entire life"
Kilahi shook her head, "You were wrong on that part" "Was I suppose to swim in my full clothes? In London, in America, even in south Africa, we put on swim wears, even in some pools here in Lagos" "I think what you're not realizing is the fact you're in Nigeria and you can't just go to anybody's house and take off all you have as if it's your house."
Brenda rolled her eyes.
"Let me be sincere, that's just me. I'll tell you my mind, irrespective of how it might sound. You don't do that in anyone's house, let alone a Pastor. What If he had fallen for it?"
"Good for me and the itch in between my legs. I'm not the spiritual kind and he was supposed to guide me through it but he didn't." Tears trickled down her cheeks, "It's been just a month but it's been the most frustrating one month of my life. I think I'll leave after the wedding. I can't even read and understand the Bible, what was i thinking?"
"There's nothing impossible to do. Personally, I've been there, that nonchallance... But all it takes is commitment and submission to his will and then the rest will come with ease, praying will come that way, you'll study more. I didn't used to study the word personally but now, I make time for it, even as I go around my busy day. Whether or not I'm tired, God is there cheering me on and giving me strength to do it, just ask him"
Brenda rolled her eyes, "You say it like it's easy" "Actually, It's not but... I say this from experience, I've moved from the lowest part of the food chain in my spirituality to another point, it's not high yet but getting there. I haven't even began but I'm seeing God in a different light. You can too, I feel like I'm preaching already"
Brenda chuckles, "I get your point. You think waiting for him Is best" "I'm not talking about him, this is your spiritual life first. Before you can dream of being his wife, it's first important to build yourself first. I'm sure when he sees your growth, he'll come around"
She smiled, "I don't know how to" "I'm a learner too, Pastor AmazingGrace is teaching me, but I can teach you basics that I know. We can take WhatsApp lessons, my schedules are somewhat tight but I can squeeze in something, we can meet at my house. It's not a fancy place we can meet there and become study buddies"
"Thank you"
"For what?"
"Giving me hope. I actually thought I wasn't cut out for this. Thanks" She embraced her and Kilahi smiles, "You're welcome." She replied moving backwards, "Did you grow up in UK or something, are your accents real?"
She chuckles nodding her head, "Born and brought up, these accent are fucking real" "Wow, I thought you were one of those that will go there after secondary school and surprisingly have the accent after two years"
Brenda laughed, "No. I know of a person that was born there, grew up there, came back to Nigeria but doesn't have an accent. You won't even know" "Wow"
"I better get my beauty sleep, you should too"
5:05 am
Sefa jerks up picking up her phone to check the time, it was 4:35. "Shit!" She muttered tapping Teju, "Wake up!" "What?" He groaned and she slapped him hard on the arm.
"Jeez!" He groaned In pain turning his face at her, "What was that for now?" "Stupid question! It's 4:35" "So?" "We need to start getting ready to leave" She picked her gown from the floor.
"Why?"
"Z!"
"It's too early now"
"The church service closes by 5:30. I'm supposed to meet up with Geraldine" "Geraldine who?" He asked still sleepy.
She pushed him off the bed and he cried out in pain, "What was that for?" He sat up looking towards her, "It's still too early, there's plenty sleep in my eyes and I'm tired or will you go alone?"
"You'll leave me alone to walk this early?"
"See! Babe, Let's chill" "Chill, wow and when Mom calls, i'll be like Yes mom, I'm chilling cause I'm in my husband's house!"
Didn't you know you're not coming to your husband's house when you suggested this place, he replied within but he knew his girlfriend will pick offense.
He found a milder was to say it, "Weren't you the one who suggested this in the first place?"
"Now fun's over. Get your naked ass into some clothes and let's get the hell out of here"
5:35 am
Sefa walked outside with Teju who was busy rummaging his hands through his back and front pocket, "Shit!" I forgot my phone" "Babe, there's no time, I need to get to the church, take more pictures and we need to beat traffic"
"I can't leave without my phone now. I'll be out before you say Tejumola" "And I might be gone before you say Sefa"
"Please now" He begged rushing back in and she chuckled softly looking around the road.
Silence.
No movements...
She rolled her eyes, na wa oh! Why is no one walking around here? It's not that early now. People should be going to work abi? She thought within.
Shit, It's saturday!
But people have Saturday work too nah. Teju should do and Come jhoor!
A brown colored Sienna pulled over just in front of her, she stepped back looking around to check if there were passersby still.
There was none!
How can this road be so dry? Why is this one parking in front of me.
In seconds, two men got out and she gasped walking backwards in fear.
It was looking like real life kidnapping shit she watches in movies!
Before she could scream or say any word, they placed a smooth stone on her head and she fainted in their arm then they pulled her into the Sienna driving off.
Teju got out five minutes looking around for her, "Babe... Sefa?" He called out, "This isn't funny, are you hiding somewhere? Did you leave?" He picked the phone calling her number.
"Why this Babe dey do like this now?"
It rang the first time and second time but by the third time, the number was switched off.
"Calm down Teju... She might have hopped on the next bus home. She's fine, she's fine, nothing happened... Nothing happened"
