Chapter 10

Unedited

Sunday

20th Febuary, 2022

Hilary laid in bed crying about everything in her life, from her late husband to her son to her stupid ex! To her weight and her selfish and mannerless flat mate and Manny too!

The period was also doing adding jara to the heart ache! The cramps that morning was on a different level! It was as if someone was grinding pepper on her waist.  She had placed a pillow underneathe her stomach while he buttocks was in the air, waiting for the pain killers to kick in.

One month? How can she do that to her? One month of not seeing her son?

Hilary called the number knowing she and the fanily must he preparing to attend first mass since they were catholics but the sturbborn woman didn't answer the call.

"This can't be! God help me! I need a hug right now, I need my son" She exhaled, "Abi I should go to church and pray for God to melt her heart? How long have I been praying? But I can't go back to church, if I see Chris' face I'll just get mad."

She needed a quick smoke as a escape but she had to remind herself about her decision on Valentine's night.

Just then she remembered Pastor Amazing and how she had been told to stay behind after service but she couldn't because of Manny- Her other headache!

She quickly did a google searched on her.

She quickly searched Hosannah Faith Ministry and the address.

Word Foundation Church

Bimbo walked into the Media room where Lanre was busy on the system,  "Good morning" She greeted not sure whether to use brother Lanre or not, they're still in church so Brother Lanre seemed like the appropriate name.

"Brother Lanre" She added and he chuckled staring at her,  "Good morning" "Uh.... We're almost starting the workers prayer. You're the one leading it"

"Sure, I just wanted to round up something, I'll be out before you know it"

"Okay"

"You look pretty this morning"

Bimbo blushed, "Why are you lying, it's my normal usher uniform" "Really?" He gasped, "You've always looked pretty on it" "Now I'll be forced to compliment you. You don't look bad either, except that tie" She moved close to him arranging his collar and tie.

"Oya Brother Lanre jo se kia (Please, be quick)"

"Mo gbo, (I've heard). Thanks babe"

"It was nothing. My name has changed to babe, over night. Wow" She teased and he laughed watching Tega walk in. "Good morning Brother Tega"

He hissed walking to take his seat and Bimbo gasped, "You are keeping Malice since last night? How did you sleep at night? I hope you did not pray oh cause God always close his year to those kind of prayer" She snapped leaving and Lanre gave him a look.

"Not cool"

"What's not cool?"

"Ignoring her greetings now" He replied shutting down the computer. "So I'm supposed to smile and embrace, I should kukuma throw in a gift with the inscription thank you for getting me suspended"

"It wasn't her fault, you had it coming"

"Abeg! No be add her nonsense mouth join"

"Don't insult my girlfriend, I won't take any insult from you and I mean it. Make we go pray"

"I no feel like abeg! Sleep dey worry me, if no be say Papa talk say make I come early to serve punishment, I for still dey bed"

Hosannah Faith Ministry (HFM)

Hilary who was clad in a red print and baggy jumpsuit watched Amazing as she played with her children and she smiled thinking of the seven years she missed out of her son's life.

She didn't even watch him do the basics like crawling, walking, she missed his first word! All of it! There was even a point in her life she planned on relocating to Ebonyi because of him.

In between the uncertainty whether to meet Amazing or not, she finally summoned courage to meet, she knew exactly how to start the topic "You have the cutest children in the world, hello cuties!" She bends making gooey noises and Inumidun gave her a strange look.

Hilary busted out in laughter, "See her fine face, she's wondering, where did this aunty come from? Mummy come and carry her away oh"

Amazing laughed looking up at her, "I'm sorry, have we met?" "Not officially though. Good afternoon Pastor Amazing" "Good afternoon"  "My name is Hilary Nnamdi, the lady you told to see you after Valentine service"

"Oh. Yes! Why didn't you wait?"

"I...I couldn't. I saw someone I didn't want to see after service so I had to leave"

Amazing sighed in understanding,   "That kind of someone" "He's not an ex if that's what you're thinking" "Okay..." She paused turning towards Inumidun who was heading towards an another angle.

"God! This girl! How did she?" She slapped her face. "She thinks she can run faster than you like that oh?" Hilary chipped in and Amazing laughed.

"Children! Are you in a hurry to leave?"

"No ma"

"Call me Amazing please."

"Ma, don't look at my body oh, you're older than me oh, I've checked your profile"

"Um..okay, we'll go to a corner and have that talk. Let me get Estelle to take care of my kids, i'll be back"

Arguments enveloped in the living room, anyone outside will think there was a war going in, unknown to them it was just some TIV people rapping the language.

Aunty Mabel and her husband decided to use this Sunday to visit old friends from Benue. Kilahi perched on the edge of the chair listening to everyone rap in TIV, she understood the language but not as much as she understood Hausa.

This people were the typical TIV people will thick accent, the ones that interchange 'R' for 'L'.

She wanted to escape, she just didn't know how. Service ended like three hours ago! She should be at home resting or cooking.

Nepa took the light so the window blinds were lifted up to let in air. "Stupid people! That's how they'll be praying with the right"  an old man complained.

Sewuese gave Kilahi a funny look and she ended up busting into laughted. Aunty Mabel shut her a look while trying to hold back her laughter.

In no time, the front door of the house was opened too. The heat was enough to fry their brains.

"I can't wait for lain season!"

"Papa,  when lain comes we'll still complain" His wife, a 70 years old woman said walking up to Kilahi, "Madam, be eating food, you have been rike for years,  eat good food. My blother blought Tom Brown from Jos, lemind me to give you before you leave. It will give you fresh to your bones, you did not see Sewuese's body"

Sewuese was the choice for her first grandson before he got married.

"I don't want fresh?" Kilahi teased,  "Did I say flesh? Are you mocking my accent?" She slapped her arm and she laughed,  "Ouch"

"Mama, it's her body" Aunty Mabel answered, "This isn't her body,  if it's a spilitual matter, we'll take it to the mountain. Maybe someone is sucking your brood"

"No one is sucking her blood"

"They need to get married and give birth"

"They are just 26 years"

"Exactly why. I am 70 and I am great grandmother at my age because all my children married early. You need to be a glandmother too, how old are you already?"

Sewuese rolled her eyes, "We're still young" "You are not young,  once you get old, your ovalies start to get old and giving birth will be hard. Ask those that gave birth at 30, you'll hear all manner of high blood plessure issue, I know that as a letired nurse."

"We can't just rush into marriage because of peer pressure, there's more to life that marriage" Kilahi answered, "There's career too, there's ambition"

"It's ideorogies like this that's making you all single. Sefa?"

"Ma?"

"Don't be like your sisters oh"

She nods innocently, "I have plans to marry at 23" "Thank you very much but don't get pregnant. I hope you're still a virgin"

"Yes" She replied and Sewuese scowled at her.

"Good girl. Well that aside,  i want to make pounded yam for you all"

"Mama, you don't have to" Aunty Mabel declined, "We'll still go, we have other places to go to"

"Don't even reject, I don't want to hear. I know you don't like eating outside food. Don't worry, I will not poison you, It's pounded yam oh. The yam is straight from Benue, I know it's been long you've eaten Benue yam. The food will be ready soon"

Sebastine whose eyes had been on Sewuese, cleared his throat, he felt the need to talk to her,  "Sewuese, can we speak outside please?" "Okay, Sure"

Hilary sobs while Amazing handed her handkerchief to her,  "My life is crumbling down, I am not losing weight and I don't understand why he had to say that shit on air,  pardon my language"

Amazing exhaled at how sad and funny the whole thing was. Isn't this her Manny the same Manny that took Kilahi on a date the previous night. Kilahi called him an OAP.

Unless there are two different Manny. Although she had a conviction it's the same person!

"You are more than this. Do you like this Manny?"

"No, i don't like like him, I was his fan. Take note of the past tense, he's my past now. I no longer listen to his programme any longer cause I don't want to know the next person he's trolling on air. And it hurts because I miss his motivational speeches. He's damn good but he just had to ruin my trust just when I thought... Maybe all men are not all scum. He ended up proving it wrong on air"

Amazing exhales again, "Not all men are scum, there are good men out there" "Odefa my late husband is the only good man I knew, Osita; my bestie is good too but he has this way of bullying me too. Those are the only two good men I know"

"There are good men in the world, sure they are rare but if you open your eyes well enough and pray. Remember when Jesus went to pray and took Peter, James and John with him?"

"Yes"

"Sometimes things we go through is because we've decided to turn to our own will, rather than God's will. It's always what we want, what about what God wants?" "I don't understand"

"Have you tried to hear God for yourself? Have you tried knowing what he wants you to do at every point in time? You've through tribulations and you're still going to go through more if you don't let God guide the way. The first God good step you ever took was attending that programme even when you didn't want to, right?"

Hilary nods.

"Yes..how?"

"That's not important. God directed your footsteps to WFC and now he directed you here so I can tell you the next phase since you don't want to listen. He has heard your cry, he hears it but he wants you to trust him. You pray but you don't leave everything in his hands, just like you spoke about your ex fiancé. That wasn't God's will"

"The senior Pastor"

"Senior Pastor my foot! In as much as there's a place for spiritual leaders, there's a place for a personal relationship with God. You get the information first hand rather than relying on what a man tells you. Perhaps, the match-making was done because he felt like trapping the young man with a woman cause I'm sure he knows the atrocities the youth Pastor may have been committing. You were the only solution to keep his zippers locked. When he did that, you could have sought for God's opinion but no! The bible says watch and pray, lest we fall into temptations. I'm sure that special man that will love you for who you are is out there"

"Men are the least of my concern right now, I have managed to cancel marriage from my plans, if there's anything that will fill this vacuum is my son, just hearing my son's voice"

"See! What if God has marriage in his plan for you. It doesn't have to be about what you want. Build your relationship with him and he'll walk you through"

Hilary cried.

"Have you tried fighting for your son legally?"

"No but I've asked question and they say customary laws may not make me win" "How?" "They think I killed my husband, they wanted me to swear initially but I didn't. There's that possibility I might have to... "

Amazing gave a thought, "I'm not a lawyer but I'm a mother too,  I can't imagine my children been taken away from me, even if it's one of them. If it was me, I'll use my last drop of blood to make sure I get the job done. What are you going to do?"

"I'm scared, the whole clan hates me. I don't have that confidence"

"You remind of someone I think you two should meet," "Who?" "Someone, trust me,  it will be staring at yourself in the mirror." She pulled out her phone from her hand bag dialing Kilahi's number.

"Good afternoon Ma?" Her voice resounded. "Are you free?" "Yes. Church ended three hours ago but my Parents decided to use today to visit all the Benue nation indigenes living in Lagos State"

Amazing laughed, sounded like something her parents used to do! "Hopefully, you won't be too busy to come over to my house? I'll drop an address" "Are you kidding me? I've been looking for a way out. God bless you Ma, let me quickly inform them"

"Great"

Sebastine led Sewuese into the garden, away from all eyes and ears. Growing up in the city of Lagos, Sewuese considered Sebastian as a big brother since the guy was seven years older than him.

Everything became awkward after he proposed while she was dating Jamal that year! Of course he knew she was dating but he proposed anyway but she was too in love with Jamal.

"You're scaring me, is everything okay?" "No. What about that your boyfriend? Is he not going to propose?"

"Is that what you called me for?"

"You might still be pretty, but time waits for no man"

"I'm 26"

"This year will make you 27, you and Kilahi. You should be counting 27 instead" "Well, I'm not 27 until my birthday, isn't that how it works?"

"Is that boy not going to propose?"

"We broke up?"

A happy smile spread across his face, "When did this happen? You didn't tell me" "I didn't need to" "Sewuese I want you back" "What!" Her eyes popped in horror.

Did he lose her before? The last time she checked, they weren't even a thing! Is this guy in his right senses??

"Are you okay?"

"Yes! I'm completely sane, I haven't stopped loving you, not for one minute"

"You have Abigail, she's your wife, your two children, your last girl is still a baby"

"Toh, Is It not your fault? That could have been our children, the two of us if not for that stupid Jamal that wasted your time. Torkwase wam (My queen), you deserved a good man"

Sewuese scoffed, "Oh and that man is you, you're asking me out when you're married" "I'm not saying that we should cheat, i'll marry you" "And Abigail?" "You can be my second wife" "In this house you live in with all your family"

"We can move, the two of us.  Sewuese I still love you"

"I don't. I never have, if it was a different world yes, but.... I've always seen you as the big brother I never had, things just got weird when you asked me out"

Sebastian fought his tears, "Learn to love your wife" "Toh I'm trying, I'm trying,  it's not as if I'm not. It's not the same with her, with you, I don't have to try hard."

"Try harder. I'm sorry" She apologized walking away regretting why her parents made a stop here!

She bumped into Kilahi, "Where are you off to?" "Pastor Amazing's house" "Wow," "Are you okay? You look sad" "Is it not Sebastian? She was confessing again" She whispered.

"He has a wife now"

"He wants me to be a second wife"

Kilahi laughed, "Mehn, we have suffered in this life" "As in ehn!" "Do you want to come with me?" "No! Enjoy your day! Bye now" She embraced her and Kilahi exhaled.

"You'll be fine dear"

"We'll both be fine" She pulled away with a half smile. "All I need is a Prince charming to save me from my distress"

"Sebastian is there, toh somebody that wants to make you second wife"

"I'll slap you"

Kilahi laughed, "What about Sam" "Shey?" Sewuese asked biting her lips, his image flashed through her mind,  "Toh... This life has no balance. Bye jhoor before I take your time"

Hilary stared at Kilahi in surprise. After Amazing left them in the snooker room she busted into tears and Kilahi felt uncomfortable. "Do I have something on my face?"

"No. I'm sorry, when Pastor Amazing said she wants me to meet someone and it will be like looking at myself in the mirror, I thought you'll be as fat as I am"

Kilahi laughed in understanding,  "She must have said that for a reason. Do you have insecurity issues?" "Yes" "Do you lack confidence in your body?" "Yes" "Toh, have you ever done anything stupid like say commiting suicide?"

"Yes"

Kilahi hugged, "Good afternoon twinnie,  I think I just found my long lost twin sister" She joked and Hilary laughed,  "Wait... You've attempted suicide?"

"Long story, you might want to have your seat oh and grab your popcorn for this" "Eweh... This one one that I don't have popcorn, let me grab a chair now" She pushed a stool close to her.

Amazing passed by a while later hearing Hilary cackle, these two were already gisting like old friends. Then she smiled walking in,  "The kids are distracted now. How do you guys like your rice, fried or jollof?" "Let's help you out" Kilahi suggested.

"Don't bother you two should bond the more"

"I'll feel bad, two grown woman are here and you'll now be cooking, like my mother will say, I will now have mind to eat the food" Hilary added and Amazing chuckled,  "You two are my guest. Call this a therapeutic session cause you two need it" She paused waiting for a response.

"I want it fried like me" Kilahi answered and Hilary laughed, "This girl is crazy, i'll have some fried rice too, maybe I can be fried too" She replied back and they both laughed watching Amazing leave.

"Jesus" Hilary wiped her tears off,  "This girl, i thought I was sick in thoughts, now i have a twin sister of different size"

"And we also tried committing suicide the same day, is that a coincidence or coincidence?"

"I think it's the second coincidence"

"Toh to think you're the one Manny was talking about yesterday. Wow, small world"

Hilary rolled her eyes, she didn't want to dwell on the topic,  "So that was how you found out they're cousins, I would have hav died of shame" "Nice try! You're trying to change the topic. Same thing I would have done, it's like trying to steal from a thief"

"Is that one a topic?"

"Come on! Manny feels awful"

Hilary hissed,  "Awful was how I felt when I heard him say those things" "I would have felt bad too, but not like anyone knows it's you" "My co-worker does" "Anyone apart from your coworker"

"Osita, my bestie"

"Anyone apart from your bestie"

"My new twin sister" She chipped and Kilahi laughed,  "Anyone apart from me" "God.  And if you ask anyone apart from God, I go push you throway"

Kilahi chuckled.

"What's your point Kilahi?"

"My point is, I don't have a point yet but... I think you should at least give him a chance,  toh at least for not posting it on social media with your face on it."

Hilary chuckles rolling her eyes, "Hear him out, if you heard his voice when he was saying it yesterday, he was this close to crying. I think I even saw tears sef" She exaggerated with a wave of her hands and Hilary laughed.

"This one is exaggeration. Are you his hype Woman? Is he paying you?"

"I wish! Me that needs money like this, I want to fast forward the month, so I'll collect salary but my Salary isn't coming till next month " "Don't we all?" She asked and they both chuckled, "He really hurt my feelings, I don't usually tell people my problems but I told him"

"But you're telling me"

"Cause you're my twin sister now"

They both laughed and Kilahi rose up holding a snooker stick, "Talk to him, make peace" "He made me angry and I'm supposed to make peace with him, wow. Just wow. So you're like his girlfriend bah?"

"No!"

"You went on a date now"

"That did not work out, at first I was excited and thinking that maybe my luck has shine, I've finally found the one to tickle my intestine" "What's tickle your intestine? You're a mess" She chuckled shaking her head.

"We are both messes" She snapped and they both laughed. "So did he tickle your intestine?"  "He tickled but" She paused and with a click of the tongue,  she added "It didn't go beyond my throat, it didn't touch the intestine. I couldn't even kiss him. And it would have been my first kiss"

"Whoa!" Hilary gasped.

"Do you like him? Manny?"

"The next person to ask that question will be dealt with. I'm just a fan, was a fan"

"Toh, Fan they blow breeze too"

"Some fan sef dey also blow heat too! Just like the heat I received from him. Okay I like him as the handsome and wise man, who won't like him but not in that way. Look at me, do you think such a man will want a person like me?"

"We do have a lot in common"

"Don't make me more mad at him,  I thought you were patronizing me for his forgiveness"

Kilahi gasped and clasped her hand in between the stick,   "Madam, no vex. Forgive our poor Manny" "You sef forgive the poor Pastor that has done you no harm"

Kilahi laughed, "Why do you people like throwing him into every topic?" "So I'm not the first" "Sewuese, my cousin turned sister likes doing that and I don't like it" "My turn, do you like him?"

"No!" she positioned the stick on one of the balls,  "Do you play?" "For where? In my mind, I'm on a movie set like this" She hits the ball but it scattered across the board then she picked one of the balls throwing it into the hole.

"Goal!!!"

Hilary laughed shaking her head, "Goal in snooker?" She hasn't laughed this much since the day she talked to Manny, maybe she can give him a try.

Small try!

An hour and a half minutes later, while they had dinner, the door bell rang and Amazing jumped to open the door. She walked in holding on to a bouquet of rose flowers, a gift bag containing wine.

She took out the note reading it:

I miss you Babe, I can't wait for the ministers conference to me over but i miss the children more.  Don't be too jealous. I can't wait to get home to the four of you. With love from Bam Bam ❤

She bit her lips fanning herself with the note.

She tried hiding the expression on her face she she walked back to the dinning room but the blush was still very much visible.

"Awwwn, you're glowing" Hilary complimented and Amazing giggled.

"I've never received roses in my life before" Kilahi confessed admiring the roses while wiping the corner of  her lips with a serviette, "Seriously?" Hilary asked, "Yes"

"My late husband got me roses while we were together"

Amazing pulled one out handing it to Kilahi and she arced her brow in surprise,  "Ma?" "Hand her a flower, I just heard it now. It's not a coincidence this flower came in when it did. This will be a marking point for you Kilahi, from today you'll be receiving flowers so much you'll get tired of it"

"Amen" Hilary shouted, "Say Amen!"

"What?" Kilahi shrugged getting emotional, "What does it mean?" She asked and Amazing hugged her, "Congratulations Kilahi, celebration is coming"

Monday

Kilahi flipped through the devotional for that day. She read the day's devotional with Gbadamosi's voice playing in her head.

21st of Febuary 2022

Shed the weights!

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.

Hebrews 12:1
(NLT)

I remember far back as 2004 as a child learning the skills of racing. No matter how much I tried, I always lose to a friend, Sam. It wasn't until I grew up that I realize where I went wrong.  Every racer dresses light for the game, every swimmer dresses light, you'll never see a swimmer carry a fishing net into the pool.

Because of my parent's Nigerian mentality, i wear thick clothes which hindered me from winning.

The garment you wear can prevent you from running smoothly, I don't mean this literarily. The garment can be sin,  depression from consistent failure, heart breaks, it can be shame, addictions and many more.

Every believer in this race towards becoming like Christ must journey light, let go of the weights, you don't need it! it will only weigh you down. It won't make your relationship with God go smoothly as it should be.

Cast it upon the Lord.

Psalm 55:22 says, Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken.

That's his word for you, he's saying come unto me o ye heavy laden, he's saying you don't need this heavy heart because in His hands lies your rest. Don't give up hope. He's restoring all you've lost!

After praying and making the day's confession, Kilahi took pictures of the pages of  the devotional sending it to Hilary whose name was saved as Twinnie Hilary.

I was reading this and i hope it blesses your day as much as it has blessed me

Have a blessed day❤

As long as you're meeting with Manny.

Ignore me, your day Is blessed,  you're favoured on all sides

#Let's war against this depression
Don't worry, If i see suicide, I'll kill it for you😂🤣🤣
"Stay_alive

It was inside the BRT bus Hilary decided to check her message, a few messages popped in from her work group, Osita and Kilahi, she didn't have many friends so she clicked on Kilahi's own then she laughed responding to the message.

Wow, I think we need to start up this trend of social media.

Don't worry, I have my gun for when that suicidal thought comes into my head. I'll shoot it!

Amen to your prayers. I wish you same.

Kilahi typed on her phone while at work, this time she was chatting with Manny.

There's a surprise coming at your door

Is it my birthday?

Does it have to be your birthday?

I'm not home oh

You don't have to be home, I don't even know your address.  Wherever you are, the surprise will get to you

Is it a Mohammed-Mountain situation?

😂 Kinda

What's the surprise?

🤐🤐🤐😋

You're scaring me

This one you're feeling guilty, you've done a lot of bad things oh😮

S

he bumped into Aunty Abebi who instantly took off her glasses glaring at her, "Are you just clumsy or you were born an imbecile?" "None of the above Ma but I'm really sorry Ma, I wasn't looking"

"Well watch where you're going to before you cause an accident."

"Yes Ma"

"And...  will it kill your boyfriend if he waits till you get to the damn office first before replying to his chat?" She snapped walking away, "He's not my... It won't happen again Ma!" She exclaimed exhaling in relief.

"I'm sorry Aunty Abebi!"

Kilahi walked into Mrs Aisha's office with a smile on her face. "Good morning Ma" "Good morning Kilahi. Please have you seat" "Thank you Ma" She replied taking her seat,  "How was your weekend Ma?"

"Stressful, i had to visit my family in Abuja on Friday for a meeting, stayed over till yesterday."

"Wasn't it for Vacation?"

Mrs Aisha busted into Hausa, "Ba Hutu da Iyanin nan, rikichi Iya nan da chen (There's no vacation with that family, family crisis, here and there)."

"Ah duka Iyali na wa yafi masala (Oh. I'm sorry, it's in all family. Mine is the worst!)"

"Wanna bet? We'll scale through it though"

"I heard of your breakthrough with Caroline on Saturday,  well done job dear!" "I'm so happy about it" "That's the joy of this job, just knowing we're saving lives through God's strength and wisdom. Thank you for making yourself available, it wasn't even work period."

"It was nothing"

Mrs Aisha noticed questions imprinted on her face, "What? Do you have something to ask?" "Yes Ma, if... I hope telling you this doesn't make it sound like I'm breaching trust. If someone's child was taken from her after she gave birth, can she file for a law suit to get him back"

"Well, it depends on different circumstances, one, the age of the child,  does the woman have the right income to take care of the child, the circumstance that led to the child being taken from the woman. What was her conduct, she might have been a drug addict"

"No, I don't think so"

"Or a prostitute. On such basis, it's always hard for the lady to win, the man will"

"Her husband is dead, the child was taken by the family, i think two weeks after he was born"

"That's preposterous! What was the woman's crime?"

"Nothing"

"Are you sure?"

"I don't know. Toh, she just said they took the child"

"It also depends if the child wants the mother back, how old is he?"

"I.. I think seven"

Mrs Aisha exhaled, "Where is the child" "With the husband's family in Ebonyi" She answered and Mrs Aisha rolled her eyes, "I hate those cases, urgh! All these family members and their entitlements! If they have viable reasons why the boy shouldn't be given to the mother. I'll say you'll have no case, I don't involve myself because the mothers sometime tend to hide things, only for you to receive the shock of your life in court"

Kilahi grimaced, "Are you speaking out of experience?" "Oluchi Daniel's case in 2017, I can never forget it. Her late husband was a Hausa man and the family took the children. Turns out the woman had cobwebs, custody was given to the man's family and I left the court with my head down. These cases are usually emotional or they can send a legal letter setting out proposals to the family.... I have enough drama on my plate. You can ask Aunty Abebi"

"Huh? No way. There's no need, I'll forget about it"

"Sorry, there isn't much I can do"

"It's fine Ma."

Hilary stood at the lobby watching ayra star music video on the flat screen television hanging on the wall. Meanwhile, she contemplated whether to see Manny or not. The receptionist had already put a call through to him, though she requested she didn't reveal her name.

Even though the young lady was skeptical, she agreed after Hilary told her to relax that she won't be kidnapping him.

Manny walked down the stairs in anticipation, perhaps it was Kilahi's gift. The shock on his face when he saw Hilary was priceless. "How... " he paused in thought.

This can't be Kilahi's gift. How in the world did she meet her when they only just spoke about her two nights ago?

"Cats got your tongue?" She asked and he chuckled, should he be chuckling that moment or remorseful??  "Hey.. What are you doing here?" "What else? You wanted to talk, let's talk. Or if don't want to any longer,  fine" She shrugged leaving and he pulled her back.

"Hey wait. Let's go to my office" He  led the way and she followed him into the office, it was a small space. She looked around observing the decor, it was something she does often when enters a new space in order to get ideas for her work.

The office was dark, it could just a light color and the wallpaper looked bad too! The only nice thing in the office was a painting of a headset with musical chords emitting from it.

Manny shut the door after she walked in,  his heart beating in fear. "Okay...." He paused staring at her as though she was going to remove a long cane from her handbag and flog the life out of him.

She noticed he was nervous. He was beginning to sweat too. "Um... Have your seat" "I didn't come to have my seat" "You came to kill me right? This is the part where you bring out the knife and stab me"
.
Hilary sucked her teeth, "So I'm a psychopath too" "No!!! Come on! Hilary I'm sorry, can you just hear me out" "Exactly what I came for, better be worth my time"

He exhaled, "Let me turn on the Air comditioner first, Is it just me or there's heat here?" He pulled down the blinds then he turned the AC on. "Shit! I didntm't ask if you're comfortable with it. Are you?" He asked turning towards her, "If you want me to turn it off,  I can"

She wanted to laugh but she maintained her cool. She didn't even need the apology any longer, the fear and nerve breakdown was doing it for her. "It's fine"

"Okay!" He replied standing afar off. "Hilary, i'm sorry for what I did," He paused walking closer to her,  "I should have asked first before going on air but I didn't and it was wrong because looking at it closely, it was almost as though i didn't give a damn about your opinion. It was your story, I had no right."

"Did you know i'll be listening?"

"I knew you'll be listening cause you told me yourself, you never miss a show. I was just trying to get people's opinion so you can hear what the had to say about that so called man that slapped you." Anger heated through him at the thought of it.
"I'm still angry cause, no man, no matter how angry he is should ever lay his hands on a woman"

Hilary suddenly felt hot, she began to wonder who sucked the rest air in the room cause she just happened to be breathless at that moment.

The AC is on oh!!!

"I'm sorry. I'm really sorry, I felt miserable after that day, guilt was eating up my heart, i was worried you'll do something crazy. I tried calling using other numbers, you didn't answer"

"You broke my trust"

"And I'm sorry, just give me another chance. If I had your home address, I would have disturbed, every day" "I would have had a court restraining order to stop you, I was really mad at you"

"And now?"

Hilary shrugged, "Let's say I already unblocked your number before coming here" She laughed and he sighed in relief, "Thank God, so am I forgiven?" "Yes but if you say a word about me on air without my consent."

"I won't. I promise, if I do flog with koboko"

"Koboko soaked in pepper"

He smiled, "I think I've learned my lesson the hard way"

She smiled too, "Good" "What changed your mind?" "My twin sister" "Huh? You never mentioned you had a twin" "I didn't?" "Yes"

"That's because we haven't met at that time. I just realized I have a twin sister"

Manny gasped,  "Wow.." He muttered and Hilary busted into laughter, slapping him playfully on the chest,  "Got ya there! I was just joking, but she's my twin sister now" "I'm lost" "Let me give you a clue, she's slim and pretty, you went on a date with her on Saturday"

"Kilahi?"

"Bingo!" She answered and he chuckled, "I'm lost, loster, lostest here. Are you free let's have lunch, I hope you're not watching your weight cause I'm in the mood for swallow"

Hilary giggled, "Well... This is one temptation I can't resist so sure,  let's swallow together" She got out with Manny bumping into Geena.

"Hey" Geena observed Hilary closely then she gave Manny a look, "Oh my... You're her, the Hilary"

Manny slapped his face slicing his fingers across his neck, a gesture for, cut it out!

"Oh my God, Manny felt horrible after that day, I heard you blocked him. He's really really really sorry"

"Madam, we've reconciled, thank you for adding starting up another fire and adding fuel to it. I might have to apologize again"

Geena gasped,  "I'm sorry. Just pretend you didn't see me and I didn't say that. Nice to meet you Hilary" "You too" She replied as calmly as possible watching her leave.

"How many more people know me facially as the one who almost committed suicide"

"Facially, Just her, I swear. I'm sorry"

Hilary chuckled walking forwards, "I'll pay for lunch, no arguments" "For someone that says she's not a feminist. What are trying to prove? What a man can do, a woman can do better? I'm the one apologizing, I should buy lunch"

She turned towards him folding her hands, "I told you already, I'm not a feminist. Let me pay for your lunch then, you'll pay for mine, at least, let me pay for the big hole of guilt I dug in your heart" She replied walking off.

"I hope you brought cement and trowels cause it's a very big hole"

Hilary climbed the stairs laughing,  "I'll make do with the eba from the restaurant" Her shoulder tremble and almost slipped from laughing. Manny held her hands, "Careful" He replied and she chuckled staring at him then she cleared her throat.

"Thank you"

A pregnant Lota, Temi's best friend walked into Gbadamosi's office with a box. "Brother Gbadamosi" She called out and he shook his head, he knew Lota was not far from sending errands. "Anything you want, I can't do it"

"You've not even heard me out"

"You like sending message"

"This one is for Temi, there's this stuff I ordered for her, they delivered it to the office, since my office is close to your church and I don't think I and my baby princess will not be able to stress ourself with all the sun so... I came so you can deliver it"

"What's inside, I've always been suspecting you of using drugs" he teased and she rolled her eyes. "Private girls things... It's not drugs. You can open it oh but the only disclaimer I have for you is that, you won't be able to sleep without thinking of it"

Gbadamosi shuddered and she laughed,  "Look at your face, it's a shoe jhoor! Will you help me? Please, for the baby" "That's just emotional blackmail" "Please ehn, thank you God bless you. Your anointing will not run dry, very soon God will give you your wife. You know I love you" She blew kisses running off.

Gbadamosi groaned, he had a lot on his plate, meetings here and there. He also had to go to the printing press to correct a problem with the recent church bulletin.

So he quickly puts a call through to Temi, "Hey Bride to be" "Hey Gbadamosi. What's up? See, I'm not free oh" "Mehn you can feel yourself oh! Who said I wanted to talk to you?"

"You might just need your therapist, you know my services work like magic"

Gbadamosi laughed, "Stinky pride!" "What's up?" "Lota delivered a box to me and I'm supposed to give you but I don't have time, I have my work cut out for me today. I was thinking maybe you'll drop by at the church and pick it"

Temi groaned, "Okay now, but not now sha, I'm busy at work" "It's your wedding week,  shouldn't they let you off?" "They have, I'm just brain storming here with Kilahi and Didi"

"Wait, did you just say Kilahi?"

"Yes, why?"

"Huh... Change of plan, I'll be coming over to drop the package" "I thought you said you have your work cut out for you" "Work is an essential part of life, maybe I need to stretch my legs around that your side, it's been quite a while"

"Hmmmm"

"See you there" He ended the call closing up his laptop and then he arranged his book. "Okay Gbadamosi, brace yourself, today is the day you start to shoot your shot" He blew hot air from his mouth upon his palm then he inhaled it.

He didn't want to talk to her smelling like the fish sauce he made that morning "

"I'll need some mints"

Kilahi walked in with a blue file, "This is the only one found. Joy is looking for the others" She sat on the desk removing her wig, "I usually love fixing my hair instead instead of wearing wigs. If not for the way I rolled the hair on the floor on Valentine's day. I would have still carried that my weavon for like another two weeks" She complained running her hands through her weaves and Temi stared at her.

The only thing that ran through her mind that moment was the fact her cousin was rushing over to see her! Manny likes Kilahi too!

She must deal with this before it gets out of hand.

Hilary bit a large part of 'pomo', this was accompanied with a smile on her face, it was the texture for her.

"This world is a small world" Her hands were all oily and gummy while Manny washed his hands. Her gaze instantly fell on the fish and shaki still in Manny's plate.  "Are you going to leave that fish and shaki there?" She pointed at his plate and he gave a nod.

"Oshey! You're doing big boy"

"I'm not doing big boy" He laughed covering his lips.

"Pass me the plate Osiso (quickly),  precious meat and fish should not go to a waste"

Manny laughed, "Don't do this" "Why? After all I'm paying for the plate" she held out a spoon taking out the shaki and fish. He had no option but to bust into laughter.

"God, you don't have shame"

"I  have shame, not when it involves meat. Even if I don't eat it, I know some people that I can give that needs it but I love meat sha"

Manny smiled at her, "Are you free on Saturday?" "I've got small laundry and house cleaning" "I hope you won't mind coming to my sister's wedding" He asked then he remembered her was Alabi's Best man but it was too late to unask her. "Huh.... I don't know, it's not like I know people there and wedding vibes does give me the yikes"

"Oh,  I'm sorry. Stupid idea"

He thanked God deep down!

"But I could use a little outing in my life right now. So that's a yes"

He faked a smile and laughed at how awkward it'll be when she finds out. Hopefully she won't be angry. He didn't even know why he asked. He should have just kept shut.

"How is your son, have you heard from him?" He asked and her face contorted from a cheerful to a sad one,  "What happened" "I can't talk to him for a month"

"Why? Is he fine?"

"My mother in law... Ex ... She declared it"

"Why?"

"Huh... I called him on Saturday with my bestie Osita's number, the guy friend I said I have. Yes, she got angry"

"Because you used his phone?" "No, I wasn't supposed to call, Saturday is our off day and I was there missing my son so Osita called with his number. He's my late husband's best friend too so she knows him. We tricked her and she got angry so she... I won't be speaking to my son till only God knows when"

"My God! You can't keep on taking this rubbish, you keep taking a lot of rubbish" He snapped obviously referring to her ex! "No offense"

"I've taken the offense. What am I going to do? I was wrong, I'll just take the punishment"

"Who set that damn standard?"

"She did.. Obiageli Kalu did"

"I'm sorry but that's just fucked up!

"As fucked up as it" She shrugged, "I don't have a choice. The only thing I'm thinking of is how I'll get my boss to free me to go and see him, at least, if I can't talk to him, let me see him"

"How are you sure she will let you see him, since she calls the shot every time"

"She can't keep him indoors all day, I'll see him even though it means going to the school to see him. If life gives you lemon"

"Oh please!" He rolled his eyes then he hissed. Wow, he was really carrying the matter on his head. Who gave him osuka? (Head gear used in carrying things)

"Well some of us are trying to make lemonades even when in reality life gave me limes instead. Can we not talk about this? I'm sad as it it, don't worsen it. I haven't laughed this much until I met my twin sister so...."

He lifted his hands in surrender,  "Okay... You are sticking with the name" "Yes. She's twin sister i never had! My whole family is a disappointment, having a sister that understands you is a change I'm opened to"

"Where you at the church on Valentine's day?"

"Yes. I ran away from you" "I knew I saw you! So that gist you were supposed to give me, the one about the Albino in the BRT bus" Manny asks as her teeth fought with the shaki.

Hilary broke out in laughter coughing from the peppery stew then he poured water into a glass for her. "You still remember" She smiled taking a drink. "Come on, I was looking forward to that gist that day before the whole on air debacle"

"You're a male Amebo, tufia akwa! (God forbid). I hope you know"

"I admit it, okay, I'm all ears"

"I'll tell you but don't go on air and say it. Screw it! You can say this one cause it's so funny how he sat close to me that day"  She smiled telling the story. Manny just sat there listening with all interest, the guilt had worn off, just the right amount of cement he needed.

Thank God they were back to being friends!

Temi flipped through the books,  "I can swear that we've handled the matter before. Surgeries cannot make her come and start complaining about someone imfringing on her rights. She looks awfully familiar" She complained about the case they were dealing with.

"These are all the female cases we handled that month" Didi chipped in,  "Should i ask Freidah?"

"No. Why should you?"

Kilahi shrugged, "Are you sure we're not looking at the wrong places. Toh, what if she's one of those cross dressers the transgender ones and she previously came as a man not a woman?" She asked and Temi smiled.

"Smart!" She snapped looking at Joy,  "I'm on it!" She replied leaving the room.

"See the essence of brain storming."

Gbadamosi stood by the door holding the box and a bouquet of flowers,  he cleared his throat and everyone turned heads him. "The blessing of the Lord be upon everyone in this room" he said,  it might not be his favourite line but he had to say something.

His gaze fell on her and a smile curled up his lips. Kilahi stared at him tapping her pen on the table.

Suddenly she remembered she wasn't wearing wig, shoot! She bent her head swinging the wig on her hair.

He chuckled and she wondered what he found amusing. Didi rose up smiling,  "Pastor Gbadamosi George in the room, I better come and tap anointing" She rose up shaking his hands. "How are you Sir"

Kilahi quickly used the period of distraction to arrange her hair using the screen of her phone. Temi laughed within, the whole thing was just weird to her. Why will she be struggling to look good for someone she claims to dislike?

Did she miss something? Why he is holding flowers too?

"Good afternoon Temi" He greeted after Didi's complimentary greeting and hype. "Good afternoon cousin that I love so much"

"Good afternoon Kilahi" His voice was silky, calm and different from when he greeted Temi.

The way he called the Kilahi and the smile and the wave that followed afterwards reminded her of the wave on Saturday night. "Good afternoon Sir" She replied slowly and Temi wondered if this was the same Kilahi that has been talking to them since.

Doesn't she like Manny again, didn't they go out on a date like on Saturday?

Shoot! She hasn't even asked either of them how the date went. She has been busy with wedding plans here and there! How in the world did she forget to ask? Manny didn't even say a thing to her!

Ooooh, he's going to see her red eyes today.

Slow and steady Kilahi heart began to dance in ways she didn't understand. She felt uneasy and scared someone will see through her.

"I see you guys are busy"

"Yes we are" Temi replied, "Thank you for the box" "Yes. I didn't just come here for the box"

"Oh really?"

"My oh my, Pastor Gbadamosi graces the foundation with his presence" Aunty Abebi said and Gbadamosi smiled, "Long time no see, I haven't set my eyes on you all through the year"

"The year just began"

"You know what I mean" She pushed her head into the room, "Kilahi, in my office now!" "Okay Ma" She rose up nervously, Aunty Abebi bowed her head at Gbadamosi leaving then he watched her pass beside him.

She walk close enough to whiff his perfume. He was still standing by the door then she slides through, "Sorry" "He apologized,  she could smell the mint in his breath. Slhe finally made her way out.

There goes his shot!

Temi chuckled to herself, " Um.. Didi, I hope you don't mind leaving me with my cousin" "Sure thing" She replied leaving and Temi laughed. "What the hell just happened in here? Gbadamosi George why the hell do you have a flower? Is it for me?"

"Eessh! You're not that special"

Temi moved towards him, "Wow. What's happening?" "I came to shoot my shot" "Shoot what shot? Have you forgotten a cousin of yours that's interested in her, his name Manny"

"Manny and I kind of had an agreement,  I shoot my shot or he does"

"When?"

"Saturday night, after the date"

Temi brushed her hands through her hair, "And you guys could only tell me! So unfair! Manny can be secretive for Africa, he'll hear from me today! I'll give him a earful"

"You better not block his ears, he needs it for his fans"

Temi collected the flower, "So you got it for Kilahi" She sniffed it and he gave a nod, "Flower has always been my way of communicating feelings, love" "I know. Nice, smells nice too. Awwwn, someone still remembers how it's done. I'm so proud of you"

Gbadamosi laughs, "Stop it! It took a lot making that decision, my heart is beating. Should I start with friendship? I don't want to be friendzoned, I'd rather be direct. Can we court?"

Temi closed her lips laughing,  "If you dare use that, I'll personally ask her to say no!" "Do you think she'll say yes. My hands are sweaty, carry your box"

She grabbed it laughing at him, "This is a funny sight. Is that mint I smell from your mouth?" "I believe the question was do you think she'll." "I don't know. She still thinks you're a womanizer" "I'll promise to prove her wrong. I just need to do this and get this over with. I just want an opportunity to know her more, get close to her and help her grow"

"Awwn"

"Stop it"

Kilahi walked back in, "I'll be heading out, Aunty Abebi sent me on an errand" "Oh." "She said, she still doesn't like me but she needs me to get somthing from an old friend in Harris law firm."

Temi scoffed, "That's not your job description" "I never really had a job description when I took the job. Besides if this can just put me in her good book. I'll be happy!" She replied turning towards Gbadamosi.

"Oh my God, I'm so sorry for interrupting like that"

"It.. It... er.... It was nothing"

Temi laughed at him, "So... How long will you take?" "One hour, two, depends on traffic" "Okay now" "Later Ma" "Sure" She replied, "Gbadamosi has something he wants to tell you, if you can spare him a minute or two"

"Huh?" He asked staring into her face while she waited in anticipation, "What is it Sir? I don't have...." She cleared her throat staring as he furrowed his brow looking for an answer.

Mehn he's getting fine by the day!

She cleared her throat admiring his well trimmed side burns, it didn't look like those men that will go about carrying unwashed,  bacteria-filled and untrimmed side burns. She was so sure he trims at least every week.  "I don't have all the whole day Sir, Aunty Abebi, my boss' sister will have my head if I deliver those documents late. I'm literarily on the clock"

She almost laughed herself, she that was admiring someone's beard!

"Um... Sure, i just wanted to say Bless you" He replied lifting his hands and she laughed, "Who sneezed?" She asked out loud then she covered her lips, "Jeez, did i say that out?" She asked and he smiled.

That one was new!

"I believe the right answer should be Amen" he replied and she nods shutting her eyes in shame,  "Yes, i'm sorry." Then she clasped her hands.

"Amen" She replied leaving then Temi glared at him,  "Chicken Much?"

"I didn't chicken, you heard her"

"Will you wait for her?"

"I have a lot cut out for me this week, I really had to use this chance. To think I was this close, my heart was racing"

Temi chuckles, "Is she the one? Did God say something?" "No. The signs are just there, for the first time, I'm having feelings for a woman I've never had a personal conversation with. This was our first conversation, if I can call it a conversation.  I think I'm falling in love"

Temi's heart float on  hearing that confession, "What about Brenda?"

He shrugged, "It can't be her, I don't feel jack"

Manny positioned his phone towards Hilary to take a picture,  "Smile" "Jesus, I don't like pictures,  stop" "Just one, to commemorate the day you used Eba cement the guilt hole. Say cheese" "Cheese" She smiled lifting a peace finger in the air.

Then he laughed,   "You have vegetable in your teeth, I just wanted to take a shot of that" He revealed and she gasped using her tongue to search for the vegetable. "Manny, you're wicked, delete it"

"No. Is it your phone?"

"Wickedness on air and off air"

"Oooh, grudges! This one cut me like a knife. I thought I already apologized,  510 times"

She chuckled, "What you should apologize for is that color in that office,  the office needs work, a little lighting, a change of wallpaper" "And what do you know about that?"

"Oh please, that's my job. Hire me and I'll transform your office, you'll think you walked into White house"

Manny laughed,  "Wow. I'll think of it and give you feedback. I hope you're not expensive" "I said I'll be turning your office into white house, that means you'll have to be like a president to afford me. Just kidding!"

He chuckled, "You're good. You had me going, i like the confidence too. Be like this everyday and no one will ever have to talk down at you okay?" He squeezed her fingers and she smiled.

"Okay"

"I have to rush back"

She hated that he had to go. She too had to go sha!

"No wahala"

In the evening, Temi called Manny up for dinner at her place, Kilahi was there too; even though she was somehow concerned about what her parents might think.

The previous day was at Amazing's place and now.....

After Temi chastised the both of them for saving details after the date, she went into the kitchen to check the food she was preparing.

"So how was your day with Hilary, i have the pre-gist already but more wont hurt"

"I'm still in awe at how you two met and suddenly became twin sisters. How does that happen?" "When two people that have been miserable finally meet, we had an understanding and we clicked."

Manny exhaled, "She's fine. She's still going through a lot but trying to mask it. She needs her son back" "Yes she does. So I chatted with my boss about it" "Did you ask for her approval before doing that? Cause I've been there and it was that bad!"

Kilahi shook her head chuckling, "No. Mrs Aisha said those kind of cases usually go off the rail. The women in question usually lose because of some secrets, like real secret why the baby was taken away"

Manny shrugged, "I'm not a lawyer but one thing I know is that Hilary doesn't want to fight back and it's annoying how she's willing to lay back and let people trump on her. Then she gives you the whole 'when life gives you lemon speech"

Kilahi shrugged too, "I  don't blame her, people like us, after years of taking whatever life gives to us, we get used to it even though it's crap but no more! I will let go of that weight. We can't be children of God be eating scraps or crappy meals the devil feeds us. I'm tired of eating devil crap" She confessed sipping her juice and Manny lifted his own glass of juice at her, "I'll drink to that" He sipped.

"Well what I.." her phone rang so she walked away to answer it.

Temi walked up to him, she stared at Kilahi who was making a call close to the window, she was speaking in hausa. "There I was thinking there'll be a cousin war over one woman. Thank God, how did the date go, for real" "Great. Although,  she diplomatically told me she didn't want to start up relationships. She asked us to be friends"

"Ooh, she friendzoned you"

"Exactly. She's not a bad friend, I would have pushed cause she has that sweet aura and personality of someone you want to keep around you but Gbada likes her too, I think his own is even more genuine. With the way he was scared that night"

Temi laughed, "I wish you saw him today, he was cool at first then he became a mess. He bought flowers for her"

He busted into laughter, "Gbada? Does he still remember where they sell those?" Then he shook his head, "Wow..." "Yes. He ended up giving me instead, he has a tight schedule" "Or he wimped out, what's so hard"

"And this your new girlfriend kor?"

"Hilary is not..."

Kilahi walked up to them,  "That was my Mom, she's worried" "Oh. I'm sorry, Manny will drop you off" "No need,  I'll order an uber. Thanks and good night Ma, good night Manny"

Manny got home, took a long shower, got out of the bathroom in his towels then he sat on the bed tiredly. He picked his phone fiddling it when he noticed a message from Hilary that had been sent in , twenty minutes ago.

They were pictures of interior decoration designs so he chuckled sending in a voice note, "Are you sure you're not just trying to sell your market as the ibo woman you are?"

He knew she was going to react! Honestly, he was looking forward to some bickering that night.

She came online almost immediately then called him via voice call. "You tribalistic Yoruba demon, how dare you?" "Good evening to you too" "Save your greetings, the evening just turned violent and it's violence we shall use to solve this. This table you're shaking, I hope you can keep up cause I've got weight that can break it"

Manny laughed heartily, "I've never been a violent man, I don't shake tables, I only decorate them" "Wow, how quick you are to forget we just repaired the one you broke on a new month day" "Have you heard of forgive and forget?"

"Have you heard Tribalism? So, because I'm an Ibo woman, I jump at opportunity when they come okwaya?"

"Hey, I didn't say anything" he said lifting up his free hand,  "You did"  he added laughing loud. "Thank God, I'm seeing this tribalistic part of you" "Just kidding, I hope you know that. I was just trying to push your buttons, and apparently I did." He groaned laying in bed.

"Are you okay? You don't sound okay"

"For a violent person, that sounds like a sweet question to ask."

She laughed softly,  "What's up?" "Nothing. It's been a long day, it hasn't been long since I..." He yawned loudly,  "Since I got in. I had dinner with my sister and I could really use a good massage right now"

"Omo baba olowo, (child of a rich father), weldone. You should get your personal massuese"

"Wait... Was that yoruba or ibo?" He asked laughing while Hilary kept quiet, did he just mock her attempt to speak Yoruba? This one actually cut like a knife.  "Sorry, I thought we were still shaking tables"

"I see"

"How long have you been in Lagos? Your Yoruba sucks"

"Uncle this table will break oh, i'm giving you disclaimer oh, my mouth has weight"

"I need a massage"

"Why don't you get a wife for starters?"

Manny chuckled, "I should, good women are hard to come by these days. I just haven't seen the right one yet. Searching becomes hard by the day" "Don't worry, you'll see, as time goes on, you'll find that special woman"

"You too"

"I already told you, marriage Is no more a priority even though Pastor Amazing said shouldn't say it. I don't want to be called a second handed piece of shit that a man is managing. I'm a widow, fine, I have a son, fine! I don't want to put another man in between that cause the truth is,  I won't date and hide the truth about my son. Ossy is part of me, he's my world, no man deserves that kind of drama abeg!"

Manny exhaled, "Hilary" "Good night Uncle Tribalist" "I'm not a.." "Argue with your head" She added hanging up.

The next emoji that came up was a tongue out emoji

😛

He laughs thinking of what she said then he began to question his relationship with her. The conversation is good, he is always happy seeing her but Is it enough to make a move?

He has never been the kind to beat about the bush, he sees what he wants and he goes for it. Hilary had good virtues you can ever seek for in a woman, minus the suicidal thoughts.

She was his kind of woman but...will his family agree?

Personally, he doesn't care about being  with someone that already has a child but with the kind of family he comes from, especially his mother, she'll just end up frustrating her!  Hilary has gone through a lot to be sandwiched into another family drama! The last family were mean to her, he was so sure beyond doubt that they'll reject her.

He swiped his gallery to the picture of Hilary he took earlier on then he scoffs, "She deserves better Manny, she does. She's a friend, keep it at that!"

Sewuese folded her leg in bed going through wedding pictures on Bella naija while Kilahi studied the bible in her pyjamas.

"This wedding gown is so nice" She shrieked happily showing It to Kilahi. "I'm studying" "Sorry" She apologized but Kilahi held the phone closely, "Wow.... Awwn, the bride is so fine." She comments,  swiping to the next picture, it was a traditional dress"

"This is beautiful, I love this material. It's really expensive, people are living big oh. God when?"

"Soon. Your wedding day is around the corner. Don't forget what that sticker on the wall says, who would thought that in less than a month, you'll get a job that pays more than mine? Or that you'll go on a date, or that you'll finally allow me do your make up successfully"

"Or that I'll make more friends than i've ever made in my whole life"

"See! There are endless world of possibilties to which we can achieve if we set our mind to it"

"And trust in God"

"Exactly, babe, you see that my masters abroad, I'll do it. I don't know how I'm going to start working my visas but I'll do it cause I believe so."

"And that Visa, you will not even encounter any problem in getting in. Everything will be smooth like ehn!"

"That's the spirit baby,  that's the spirit. You see this wedding thing, we'll all do it, your own is this year!"

Kilahi smiled and Gbadamosi flashed through her mind again.  "Pastor Gbadamosi came to the office to see Miss Temi today" "Oh.... Why did you just think of him?" "What kind of rubbish question Is that? The thought just crossed my mind"

"Just when I was talking about weddings,  wow"

"Don't be ridiculous! Don't start entertaining ideas"

"Are you not the one that said,  if he was a swimming coach, someone's daughter will drowning everyday to collect CPR, you that don't like swimming"

"Hence the drowning part"

"Hence the CPR part, which is done with the lips"

"I was just.... I just wanted to say that maybe I misjudged him,  maybe Pastor Gbadamosi is not all that bad" "Why the sudden change of heart"

She shrugs, "I don't know. I guess, i just want to give him the benefit of the doubt but what does it matter, not as if I'm close to him"

Sewuese rolled her eyes, she was getting tired of the denial. "It's okay if you're attracted to the man. I'm not going to judge you, he's fine. Just don't lie to me about your feelings, I'm your sister, not a stranger"

Kilahi blinked her eyes, "I swear it's not as if i like him, this is the truth. It's not a new fact that he's attractive, i admit it. From the way he looks at me, the way he waves, that smile but it hasn't gone to that stage yet. I'm not lying" She confessed looking up at her.

"My heart danced this afternoon"

Sewuese smiled, "I knew it" "It's not a dance to worry about, it was the way he entered. I was just admiring his beard and...." She trailed off,  actually the dancing heart occured before she started admiring his beard.

"It hasn't gone beyong that. I don't even know why the stupid heart was dancing,  my heart is confused, walahi. If it goes beyond this, which won't happen cause I'm not Mummy GO material and the only thing bringing us close is Miss Temi's wedding"

"The dinner at the Palm grooves, wasn't that a coincedence.. Maybe God..."

"Miss Temi suggested it to Manny, he told me. And I'm sure this man has other options of women so I won't be giving myself hope. I don't even want to be a Mummy GO, the thought scars me, a depressed Mummy GO"

"You're no longer depressed"

"Because everything is going on well"

"Don't talk yourself down,  Kilahi you're doing better than before and i've never been more proud of you"

Kilahi smiled, "Awwwn. Thanks. If maybe by mistake, i start to feel things, you'll be the first i'll tell."

"Promise?"

"I promise"
