Something Lurking

Sat up in her bedroom, he had been helping her with any work she didn't understand which just happened to be almost everything. From simple charms to complex potions, she struggled more than he believed she would.

"Just explain it to me again one more time," she asked, he sighed dropping his head on her pillow

"I've explained thirteen times already,"

"I'm sorry, I just don't understand,"

"What is it? Is it the potion or the result itself?"

"I guess, I just don't know how it works physiologically," he sat back as he let her continue, "I mean say you took this potion and turned into me," she creased her brows.

"Go on," he sat up on her bed

"Would that mean you could go in the ocean and breathe, grow a tail and fins, I just don't understand, and then another thing, if you turned into a woman, could you get pregnant? Because biologically you're a man you couldn't, but with this potion, you'd appear and have the organs of a woman-

"You reading way too much into this," he said, chuckling as she turned away from him, "the potion doesn't last that long you'd have to continually use it, and usually people don't use it, for sex, they could, but they don't,"

"Fine, I just think it's strange," he smiled at her leaning closer to her, nuzzling his nose against her cheek, pressing his lips against her cheek

"I think some things about Sirens are strange," he pressed his lips against her, tossing her book aside, she shuffled back, snaking her hands around his neck pulling him with her, 'maybe this time it'll happen,'

"What about sirens are strange?" she questioned, after hearing his thought, he licked his lips, as he pulled away from her

"How you can be so beautiful, yet so deadly at the same time,"

"Which one am I?" she said, he took a moment to admire, 'most beautiful girl I ever saw,'

"Too beautiful not to kiss," he said, she smiled he leaned down softly kissing her neck. She moaned so sweetly in his ear, he tried his best to control his thoughts, 'Fuck I need her,'

"Regulus," he pulled away, looking down at her, "you don't think we're going too fast do you?" she asked

"No, I don't mind taking things slow, but if you are worried about sex, then talk to me please,"

"I have had sex before, just not as a human,"

"And that bothers you because?"

"I guess I wouldn't want to disappoint,"

"You couldn't disappoint me," he said, she sighed, "for what it's worth, I don't mind if we never do, I'd rather you be comfortable than feel like you need to for me,"

"But you want to, I know you do," he creased his brows,

"You've been listening to my thoughts," he questioned, "I thought we had an understanding about that,"

"We do it's just so hard, I'm hearing things all the time"

"Yes, I might have thoughts about you, but it doesn't I'll never act on them, not without your permission anyway,"

"Does everyone think like that?" she asked, remembering all the thoughts she had heard from his friends,

"I'd love to yes, but unfortunately some people do act on their thoughts," she looked down biting her lip, "has anyone thought things about you, that you didn't like,"

"A few people,"

"Is that why you never wanted to meet Avery or Mulciber?" she lightly nodded, he sighed, wrapping his arms around her, "they won't touch you, not while I'm around,"

She had received a warning from her uncle that she hadn't met with him yet. Her school work seemed to take up a lot of her time, as the night fell, she kept out of her dormitory, hurrying towards the forest as navigated her way through to the small pond.

She neatly folded her clothes, gently placing them on a log, she dived into the pond, her legs transforming into a tail. She twirled around, happily swimming around, she missed this her world, she aimed to make the most of it while ever she was her.

"You took your time didn't you," her uncle said, waiting impatiently for

"Sorry, a lot's been getting in the way, I've been meaning to speak with you, I think there's something in the castle,"

"What do you mean?"

"Regulus heard something a couple of months ago, he said, it sounded like an angelic voice, the closer he got the more he was drawn to it,"

"Sounds like a Siren's songs-

"That's what I thought, anyway he showed me where he heard it," she gulped, "it had him under its spell instantly, they were nothing in sight,"

"Usually, they have to see it,"

"I couldn't see anything only hear it,"

"This is quite troubling, you know that," he said, he questioned whether he should take her out of the school now. "I can't have you staying at that school, not on your own,"

"What if I wasn't on my own?" she questioned, he sighed knowing what she was going to propose, "My cousins do you know where they are?"

"It's out of the question, they have their own life on land,"

"Then they could help please, Uncle Orpheus,"

"Alright, I'll speak with him," she hugged him, "now someone's been missing you," he gestured to the Kelpie that excitedly swam towards her, she held her hand up, gently placing her forehead on the creature's head.

"I've missed you too," she swam away having the Kelpie chase her through the water, she swiftly swam deeper making it harder for it to keep up with her, swimming round in circles the Kelpie stopped becoming dizzy, after following her movements.
