Marauder of a Forgotten Sea
Toss me a line to hoist this sail,
For our voyage shall not end in a rivulet of tears,
Mingling with the salty ocean,
In a reflected constellation of our fears.
Toss me a line to ensnare this sea serpent,
For our existence shall not end in protruding rib-bones,
Vibrating like the bars of a xylophone,
Our vessel catapulted to Davy Jones'.
Toss me a line to strangle this Siren,
For her carols have begun to curdle in my ears,
And beauty is but naught,
If that falsetto in my heart yet sears.
Toss me a line,
For the fabric of my sanity has been tattered to ribbons.
The freedom of the sea is but a hall of lonely prisons.
And I swear in the night,
I can still hear their screams,
As the Kraken pulls them under,
Lungs ripped at the seams.
