Dear Jealousy
〰〰〰〰〰〰〰
O, beware, my lord, of jealousy;
It is the green-ey'd monster, which doth mock
The meat it feeds on.
[William Shakespeare]

Dear Jealousy,
You were always the one with the best disguise. No one would intentionally invite you in therefore you hid behind Love and seeked it's shade. The mighty Love was so busy going in and out of the hearts that he never saw you backstabbing him and taking his place.
Then you spread in them like a drug, slowly and then all at once. They would lose their senses and forget the solace Love provided them. Your madness would work like a catalyst -- speeding it's way to their doom. Dragging one heart to the dead end along with the other that matched it's beat. If they were lucky enough to escape your clutches they were found vulnerable by other dark beasts like you.
People talk about Zeus and Hera or Othello and Desdemona but it wasn't limited to people it was spread all over the materialistic society. Like Love, you could kill from inside out. But in case of Love, their last moments were spent with him. And you just left them to rot with pain.
Running into you was like walking through the desert to find the rain. You know it's on the other side but the mirage, you come in, you captivate them, you lure them and you destroy them. And you continue doing so upto that point that the jealous heart fails to recognise itself, it's own beats sound unfamiliar and then you send in the pain. You were indeed like the mirage, an illusion of Love.
You were the reason red was stained, cut and bleeding. I have encountered you in many instances of my life. Thankfully they were fleeting moments that didn't last -- but that glimpse did leave an impact on me. They were little moments like when my mother hugged my brother first, when my father forgot my birthday but not his, when the largest piece of cake was passed to the elders and when I saw Love everywhere else but in me. That was when you entered, no - that was when your cover was blown. Love slowly diminished and you took the spotlight. And I let you do so.
Not because I couldn't, but because we were on the same boat, stuck in the same whirlwind -- jealous and looking for Love.
Yes Jealousy, you were jealous of Love. You tried to catch him, take his place whenever you could, wherever you could. You had the passion, the intensity -- the same as Love. But while Love could offer it all to you, every ounce of it you didn't have the heart to taint him with your malice. Thus you waited, you always waited till it was gone and took it's place and a new story was told.
But we both will find him, the paradise we crave. And I can promise you, I have got a boat for two.
From,
your well wisher.

What is the emotion that you are jealous, you don't feel it a lot?
Love,
Isla.
