Ah, Valentines Day.

The day of love, romance...

The day where single people complain about their love life. Including me!

I've had crushes before but none of them really ended great...

That's a story for another day!

Anyways, this Valentines Day was...pretty darn good!

I was going to bed the night before and thinking if I wanted to give some of my friends some candy for the special day. I fell asleep before I made up my mind XD.

I had been pretty drained that week but it was like all the  adrenaline I should have had throughout the week came back full force. I was so freaking giddy and had no idea why. And it wasn't because it was Valentines day because I always forget that it's that day until it's like 9PM and the day is practically over.

Another weird thing, I got to school early that day. Not normal at all.

Anyways, since I had time before class I kinda just aimlessly wandered around the school looking for people to talk to. Also our school is teeny so I kinda just walked up and down a really long hallway 3 times.

Eventually after nearly boring myself to death, I saw one of my friends in the hallway. We'll call him Akane. Why? Because we can!

I went over to say hi and we talked for a bit. Then he suddenly told me something. I have no idea what he said, I couldn't hear him but he reached into his backpack...

AND GAVE ME A FREAKIN' SKETCH BOOK AND WHOLE SET OF COLORED PENCILS!!!!!!!!!!

If you haven't figured this out by now, I love to sketch, and I love to color.

I had that sketch book with me the whole day.

Then weird stuff happened.

Like my parents happened.

My parents don't let me date or anything and are very cautious about who I hang out with, especially guys, which gets weird because like 80% of my friends are guys. So when I told them Akane gave me a present on Valentines Day, they were...well...

The point was we had a few awkward conversations after.

My parents told me to ask Akane why he gave me the gift.

Now to any normal person, this should have been easy. It should also come as a surprise to no one that I am NOT a normal person. So there was a lot of pointless stressing that night and the day after.

I had other reasons for stress, but this was one of them.

Turns out it was exactly what I told my parents. He gave it to me because we're FRIENDS. I told them this and they still made me do it! Geez! Why!

Anyways, that was my anxiety filled socially awkward Valentines Day! It was still really great.
