They both knew nothing could fix it this time. They both needed to be clear about their own feelings at first. They needed time.

Anna heart clenched when she saw tears in Jake eyes. Jake never used to show his emotions. He was always good at hiding them.

But the fact that he was about to break down in front her broke her heart even more. She knew he was trying his best not to cry.

She has never seen him that vulnerable before. "I'm sorry. Please don't go". Jake said. It was almost a whisper. His voice raspy.

His voice held so much pain that Anna almost held him tight in her arms. But she wouldn't do that. Because she knew she won't be able to let go.

Jake clenched his jaw and took a deep breath. He pulled their foreheads together, his eyes closed. When he opened them his eyes were glassy.

Anna knew if he blinks even only once, those tears will break down into million peaces.

Jake blinked and a single tear rolled down to his cheeks. It was like a torture for Anna to watch him so broken.

"I have to Jake. It's the best for both of us" Anna said with a broken voice.

"I love you Anna." Jake said looking into her eyes. "I love you so god damn much Anna. I can't... I have loved you since we were little.

You have been my best friend since forever. You will always be special to me. Please Anna dont go"

It has been days since they said I love you to each other. Hearing him say that made her heart clench. Jake had no idea what his words was doing to her.

he was doing it. he was making her second guess her decision to leave. hearing his words Anna felt like she need to stay.

For him. But she knew if she stayed it will only get him hurt more. It was selfish for her to do that.

"I can't. We are only going to hurt each other more jack". Anna said as she broke down.

They both were in a total mess right now. Neither of them made a move and silence took over between them until they heard the pre-boarding announcement.

Anna smiled weakly at him. "I need to go" she said as she tried to free her arms from his grip. Jake knew he would lose her the minute she leaves.

He couldn't just let her go like that. Jake pulled her close to him and held her in his arms for the last time. He knew he needed to let her go. But he wasn't ready to do it.

He snuggled his face in her neck trying his best to contain his tears. He could feel her slowly snuggling into him. He knew how much she loved his hugs. He smiled at that.

Anna moved closure to him and he found his breath that he has been holding for so long. Anna sniffed as her tears rolled down without any control.

Jake grip on her tightened and they held each other for the last time. Anna wished she could stay in his arms but she knew she needed to leave as soon as possible.

"I'll wait for you" Jake said almost as a whisper yet Anna heard it loud and clear. She looked at him with love as she kissed his cheeks for the last time.

"Take care Jake." Anna said softly as she pulled herself away from him. Jake looked at her with pleading eyes and Anna gave him a weak smile before walking away.

Jake stood there watching her walk away and leaving him and everything behind. He knew it was his fault. He wished he could change everything that happened between them.
