Chapter One
I spent my whole life thinking Vampires weren't real, watching movies like Twilight, reading books. But now I know for a fact they are.
West Side used to be a very quiet town. Nothing bad every happened in West Side, until on the news there were reports on three animal attacks nearby.
The bites on the people don't look like animal attacks. They look like vampire bites. How do I know? I know a lot about vampires.
Could this be true? Are there actually vampires in West Side? If so, who are they? My best friends? My parents? My brother? My aunts or uncles? Who? My ex boyfriend?
-------------
"Did you guys see the news last night?" Elena asked as I sat down along with Caroline and Bonnie.
Bonnie shakes her head, "No what happened?" Caroline gasps, "You didn't hear?" Elena continues, "Three animal attacks. The people were completely drained of blood."
Bonnie laughs, "Animals can't drain people from their blood. Unless they bled to death." Caroline looks over at me, "What do you think Madison?"
I shrug picking at my salad, "I think that we should be alert. And make sure we-- wow who are the new guys?"
Elena looks behind her and Bonnie and Caroline look up, "Damn."
Bonnie nods, "Mm, new kids. They are twins but not identical obviously. Stefan and Damon Salvatore."
"Which one is Stefan?" Elena asks. Bonnie nudges to the brown haired one, "The one with brown hair. And Damon is the one with black hair."
I glance up at Damon and he gives me a crooked smile and I smile back.
Caroline grunts, "There are no really hot guys who like meeeee." Elena laughs, "Okay Care, you may need to chill a little. This is our senior year and we should be celebrating it! Not worrying about the hot guys."
I nod, "Elenas right, Care." Bonnie nods in agreement. I look back down and Bonnie looks at me, "Hey, Madison. Wh-What's wrong?"
I shake my head, "Nothing that you guys should be worried about." Elena laughs, "Mads, you're out best friend and we are yours," she reaches for my closed hand, "you can tell us anything."
I take a deep breath, "I don't think the people were killed by animals." Caroline looks at me, "What are you talking about?"
I bring out the newspaper I took from my bag, "Look, it's not any animal in those woods. I don't see how animals could or would do that. West Side was completely wiped out of coyotes, foxes, wolves. All that's left in that forest are harmless deer, rabbits, and chipmunks."
Elena, Bonnie, and Caroline look at the newspaper carefully. Elena looks up, "Guys Madison's right. But what else could it be?"
I take a deep breath, "I have a theory that there is a vampire roaming around West Side."
"Vampires don't exist, Madi." Caroline says.
I point at her, "That's what they want you to think." Elena and Bonnie look from me to Caroline.
Elena shrugs, "I think any things possible." Bonnie shakes her head, "You're not serious? Madi, we love you but I think you're wrong."
The bell rings for first period.
"We'll see you two later." Caroline says. Bonnie and Caroline go their separate way from Elena and I.
Elena nudges me, "Don't worry. I believe you." I nod and then grunt, "Bonnie and Caroline must think I'm some lunatic."
Elena stops, "Don't you ever think that. They love you, come on let's head into history." I nod and follow her into the classroom.
I take my seat and I notice Damon walk into the room. I bite my lip hiding my smile.
Elena: oooh
All I do is blush at the message.
Me: shut it Elena :D
Elena: why? He keeps staring @ u
Me: what?
Elena: yea turn around
I turn around looking diagonal from me to see Damon smiling at me already. I bite my lip and look down.
Wow.
