Jennifer's POV:
It was now the beginning of February. Right now I was inside my car with my cousin next to me. She asked me to drive her to her friend's house. And once we stopped in front on a large mansion I could guess who the friend was.
Arielle.
I parked the car near the mansion and Jaylin and I both got out and headed over to the front door. Jaylin rang the doorbell and waited. 2 minutes later I was surprised to see Arielle open the door. She looked at Jaylin and the looked at me shock written all over her face. Arielle stepped aside and let us in. Jaylin and I walked inside and Arielle closed the door behind us.
"So what did you guys need?" Arielle asked us.
"I needed to ask Adrianna for something and she decided to tag along." Jaylin said.
"Alright. Adrianna is in her room."
"Okay." Jaylin said and the left towards the stairwell.
Arielle turned her attention towards me. "So you decided to just 'tag along'?"Arielle asked.
"I wanted to talk to you." I said to her. Arielle nodded her head and then went towards a different stairwell. We went up the stairs and opened up the door to her bedroom and she went and sat on her bed. I closed the door behind me and sat next to her.
"So what did you want to talk about?" Arielle asked.
"Us." I said simply.
"What about us?" Arielle asked innocently.
Arielle had been acting different every since the kiss on the ferris wheel and had been somewhat avoiding me for give or take 2 months. Now, I'm not saying what we did on the Ferris Wheel was okay, but at the time, when we were doing it, it felt so right and honestly the way she made me feel was a way that Emily never did.
Arielle wasn't avoiding me but she was sort of keeping her distance. I thought that we were actually progressing on our relationship, but then the ferris wheel happens, and then it became strained.
This is the only way... I think to myself.
"Look Arielle...I like you." I said slowly.
She looked at me and said "I like you too." I frowned at this.
"No." I sighed. "Arielle I like you more than this weird friendship or whatever it is that we have. I like you a lot." I said to her and looked at her. She stayed silent for a while.
She sighed and said "I like you too Jennifer...more than I should." I couldn't help but smile at hearing those words.
"But," she continued "I can't like you."
"Why not?" I asked feeling my heart break. "If it's because of Emily I'll break up with her, that's no problem."
Arielle stayed silent. I grabbed her chin and made her look at me.
"What's the problem Arielle?" I asked her. She stayed silent again.
"Arielle!" I yelled. She winced at my aggression. I didn't mean to act like this but I was desperate. Desperate to know the reason why she couldn't like me. I hated that she made me act this way.
I looked back at Arielle and saw that there were tears falling from her eyes. I took my other hand and wiped away her tears with my thumb. "Arielle why are you crying..?" I asked her softly.
"My sister." She said.
What happened to which sister?
"Who?" I asked her.
"Adrianna." She said quietly.
"What happened to Adrianna?" I asked curiously. I shouldn't have asked her that question because as soon as I did the tears fell down from her eyes quicker.
"A-Adrianna...she l-likes you." She choked out.
I looked at her shocked. "So what does that have to do with us?" I asked confused.
"It has to do with everything. If she likes you I'm not gonna be in a relationship with you knowing she likes you. If it was Amanda I wouldn't have cared but this is Adrianna...I-I just can't."
I grew angry at hearing this. "So you're gonna make yourself unhappy just so that your sister can be somewhat happy? It won't matter anyways because I'm not going to date her. I don't like her like that." I said harshly.
Adrianna was my friend and I felt guilty for speaking about her this way but as I said before, I was desperate for Arielle.
She looked at me shocked "You wouldn't date her?" Arielle asked.
"No...I don't like her I like you." I said to her.
"But what about Emily?" Arielle asked.
"I don't like her as much as I like you. I thought I loved her but...I don't, I lo-"
I stopped myself. "I like you a lot more than I do her."
Was I just about to say that I loved Arielle?
"You do realize you're my teacher right? And that you could go to jail if we get caught?" She asked
"Then we just won't have to get caught." I said back to her.
Arielle stayed silent for awhile. She then nodded her head. "Okay." She said. "But...let's not define what we have just yet okay?"
I wanted Arielle to be mine but I wouldn't pressure her for something she doesn't want yet.
"Sure." I said. I looked over at her and saw that she was looking at me. I leaned in and pressed my lips towards hers. It was a gentle kiss. She pulled away and smiled.
I got up, got her TV Remote and sat down on her couch. "Wanna watch TV?" I said to her patting my lap, motioning for her to sit. She got up and sat next to me on the couch.
"That's not gonna do." I said and grabbed her arm pulling her so now her head was in my lap.
"It's not what I wanted but it's close enough." I mumbled to myself and turned on the TV.
I changed it to a random channel and started watching it. At first, we were both watching it but then we got distracted and started talking.
----------------------------------------------
A few hours later we heard a knock on the door. Arielle got of off my quickly and said "Come in." The person opened the door and it was Adrianna.
She looked over at me and smiled "Hey Jennifer, Jaylin told me to tell you that she's ready to go."
I waited for Adrianna to leave the room to say goodbye to Arielle but she lingered by the door. So I had to settle for a platonic goodbye.
"Bye Arielle."
She looked at me and smiled warmly "Bye Jennifer." I smiled back at her and walked out of Arielle's room, closing the door.
"I'll walk you to the front door." Adrianna said to me.
"Alright, Thanks." I said.
Adrianna and I made small talk while walking towards the door. Once I got to the door, I put my hand on the door knob to open it but Adrianna put her hand on top of mine to stop me. I looked at her shocked.
"Don't you have something you wanna say to me?" She asked.
"Um...goodbye?." I said to her.
She chuckled lightly "Yea there's that but there's nothing else you wanna tell me?"
What is she talking about? I wondered. I racked my brain trying to find something, anything, I had to say to this girl. Not one single thing popped up.
"No. I don't think there's anything." I said to her.
"Well let me help you remember."
Adrianna stepped towards me, a little too close. She then pressed her lips onto mine. This kiss wasn't like the kiss I had with Arielle.
No, this one didn't make me feel butterflies in my stomach or give me a tingly sensation. This one just filled me with pure disgust. We then heard a thud. We turned in the direction of the noise and saw my purse.
Wait...didn't I leave that in Arielle's room? How did it get here then?
"Is that yours?" Adrianna asked.
"Why did you kiss me?!" I said to Adrianna.
"I thought you liked me..." she trailed off.
"I have a girlfriend Adrianna."
"Oh yea, what was her name, Emily right?
Not the girlfriend I was actually thinking about.
Wait.
I just called Arielle my girlfriend. I thought to myself.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves Jennifer. Another voice of mine said.
"Shit, I'm so so sorry Jennifer." Adrianna said.
"It's fine Adrianna." I said to her. I honestly could care less about her apologizing right now.
My mind was only on one thing, and that was if Arielle saw the kiss.
