Jennifer's POV:

It's been 3 weeks since Arielle has spoken to me or at least looked at me. It was 4th period Whenever I looked at her during class I would see that she would be looking down, or looking out the window avoiding looking in my direction in general. It doesn't even help that her desk is near mine. I just want her to look at me or at least talk to me. The rest of the school day from that point on dragged by boringly.

When I got home Emily greeted me at the door.
"Hey baby." She said seductively kissing me on the lips.
"Hey love." I said unenthusiastically.
She probably wanted to have sex. I was all for it, but just not now ever since that day with Arielle I haven't even looked at Emily as a "girlfriend" anymore, I find her more of a nuisance now.

"Baby are you okay?" She asked concerned.
"Yea...I'm just...tired. Sorry." I responded. I didn't know if she could tell that I was lying. She's usually able to read me like an open book.

Her face then turned into one of sadness and she said "Jennifer is there someone else?"

Yes there is someone else, and that someone else is my student.

"No baby no. Why would you think that?" I asked her, already knowing the answer.
"These last few weeks you've been avoiding me like the plague and whenever I talk to you you seem to just brush me off." She said

"It's just that work has been stressful lately love." I said to her.
She stayed silent.
"I have an idea. Why don't I take you out for dinner tomorrow?"
"I have work tomorrow." She said.
"I'll pick you up from work. Where something sexy." I said to her winking.
She starting smiling and said "Okay baby now go get some rest." I kissed her softly and went into the bedroom. I changed my clothes and laid down.

I looked at myself in the mirror giving myself a once over. I curled my hair and I was wearing a red dress with red heels. If anything I think I looked pretty good. I went to my car and picked Emily up.

"Where are we going?" She asked excitingly.
"I can't tell you it's a surprise. I said keeping my eyes on the road.
"Awww pretty please." She said while poking me repeatedly.
"We're here." I said pulling into the parking lot. I got out of the car. And quickly went over to Emily's side and opened the door for her.

"Thank you baby." She said while getting out the car.
We walked towards the door and I held it open for her and I to go inside. I went up to the waiter and said "Reservations for Jennifer Murphy."
He looked through the list and it was taking him such a long time I started to get nervous that I actually didn't make the reservation.

He then looked up from the paper and grabbed 2 menus and said "Follow me please." with a little hint of a French accent. He guided us to out table and Emily and I sat across from each other. Emily was looking around the restaurant in awe. "Wow I didn't actually think you had a reservation for this place." She said.
"I have connections." I said winking at her. Another waiter came and took our orders. Emily and I were talking about anything and everything.

I looked back while Emily was talking and that's when I saw her walk through the door.

Just my luck.

Arielle's POV:

It was Jacob's idea to take me out to this restaurant. He said it would help me get out of my "funk". He opened the door for us and walked right past the the waiter at the podium.
"Um...where are you going?" I asked him.
"Don't worry one of my dad's friends owns this place. We don't need a reservation." He led me to an empty table and sat down. We looked through our menus and called a waiter over to take them.

Jacob and I were actually having a really good time. I looked around the restaurant and I saw Jennifer. She was at a table with another girl. I guess Jennifer felt like someone was looking at her because she looked around until her gaze fell on me and locked. I looked away quickly.

I haven't spoke to Jennifer every since the incident. I don't remember much of the beginning of the night but towards to end I somehow sobered up. Now I was barely listening to Jacob speak and kept stealing glances at Jennifer.

Who's the girl she's with? I thought to myself.

But my question was soon answered when the girl leaned over and kissed Jennifer. Jennifer didn't even push her off but instead deepened the kiss. When I saw this a pang of hurt went through my chest. I guess I made a facial expression because Jacob then asked "Hey Ari are you okay?"

I was on the verge of tears, from the corner of my eyes I could still see them kissing. "Yea I'm fine I just feel a little light-headed. Excuse me for a minute." I said standing out of my seat and rushing to the bathroom. I looked into the mirror seeing the tears welling up in my eyes. I wiped them away quickly and splashed water on my face. When I was done and about to leave someone opened the door and I bumped into them.

"Oh I'm so sor-" I stopped what I was saying realizing it was Jennifer who I bumped into. I looked down at the ground about to start crying again just by looking at her face. "Excuse me." I said quietly and tried to move past her, but she moved to block my way. I looked back up at her and she pushed me softly further into the bathroom and locked the door.

"What do you want?" I asked.
"Why have you been avoiding me?" She asked angrily.
"I haven't been avoiding you. I've been...busy."
She scoffed. "Yea right because you're so eager to get to your next class that you couldn't stay behind a few minutes for mine."
"Look I really don't want to talk about this." My sadness turning into anger.

I pushed past her and went to the door. She then yanked my arm and pulled me into her. She looked into my eyes intensely and then crashed her lips onto mine. I didn't respond to this kiss at first and just as I was about to an image of her kissing that other girl went through my head and I pushed her off of me. I don't know what I was thinking but I slapped her right across the face.

She looked at me with a shocked expression on her face. "Why did you do that?" She asked frustratedly.

Wow. The nerve of this woman. I thought.

"Why don't you ask yourself that. You kissed your girlfriend just a few minutes ago and then you come in here and you kiss me." I said angrily. I didn't even realize until she reached her hand up to wipe away a stray tear that I was crying. I smacked her hand away.
"Arielle..." I heard her say softly.

I pushed past her and left her there in the bathroom and I stormed out of the restaurant, not even wanting to speak to Jacob anymore. I called a cab and went home. I didn't bother speaking to anyone and just went straight into my room. My mind was in a million places. After I while my eyelids couldn't stay open anymore and I fell asleep.
