Chapter 10 Furinture Shopping?

Two days later, Chloe is in the store.  She looks around at all the sofas, coffee tables and so on in amazement.  She wants to get a few items for her living room, and some for her small study area in her apartment.  She smiles when she sees just the pieces that she believes will work well for her.

"I will take that yellow sofa, the black coffee table, the small yellow table, and the lamp with the black shade please.  Oh, I will also take the black computer chair, and small yellow desk, the lava lamp, the yellow throw pillows, and finally that bright yellow throw blanket with the scene of the beach on it."  Chloe remarks.  She is happy to see that the manager approves her choices.

"Excellent choice, Miss Chloe." The manager says. He recalls how she came here once in the past with her mother .  He helps her wrap the lamps in some newspaper, so as to avoid brakage.

"Now let me know if there is anything else, you wish to add to all this, a nice clock for your wall perhaps?"  The manager remarks.

"Yes, she will take that yellow clock as bright as the sun over there!"  Nathaniel says as he points to it.

"Well, that is fine taste indeed!  I will add that to your purchases for no extra charge."  The manager says.

Nathaniel watches her pay for the items.  "Chloe, let me help you with all that it is rather heavy."  Nathaniel says.

"Fine you may carry all the other things, I will get the lamps."  Chloe says. She goes to her car, unlocks it and sets the lamps carefully down on the front floor space, so as to avoid their being broken.

Nathaniel waits for her to unlock the trunk.  Then, he opens it, puts in the chair, desk, coffee table, clock and throw blankets, and pillows.  He closes the trunk.

"There was not enough room to fit the sofa in your car, so I will follow you in mine."  Nathaniel says.

"Oh, I could come back and get it."  Chloe says.

          "I insist, goose!"  Nathaniel remarks.

"Well, when you put it that way, then sure."  Chloe responds.

Chloe drives back to her new place.  Nathaniel follows close behind her.  Soon they both pull into the apartment complex parking lot.  Chloe parks outside door 10.  Nathaniel parks beside her.

Chole unlocks the door to her place, then carries in her purse and the lamps.

Nathaniel follows close behind her with her couch.  He sees the living room and places it in the empty space.  He grins at her.

"Thanks, for your help." Chloe says.

"Anything for you, Chlo."  Nathaniel says. He smiles at her, and even winks at her some as well.

Chloe blushes at the remark, and he laughs. "Nathaniel, you so, so fun to be around!  I uh..."  She dares not say that she loves him. Not yet, because she believes neither of them are ready for this just yet.  She just sighs. She thinks, well at least he is nicer now that he is free from the grasp of  Noelle, and Susan.  She smiles even more.

Nathaniel kisses her cheek and leaves.  Chloe brings in the clock, desk, chair, and coffee table.  Then, she puts all the new items where she would like to see them from her on out.  Now at last her apartment looks more  like home. She hangs the clock on the wall right above the sofa.  She thinks, it looks nice there somehow.  She also begins to think, maybe I should get some new curtains soon.  She knows there are already some in her kitchen, but so far for her room, she has to  hang a sheet up in front of it to avoid people being rude, or peeping tom's  as the old phrase goes.  It is not like she has a way to get everything at once.

Not even her new job pays that much.  Anyway, for now she is happy to be done with the furniture shopping. She did get to see her crush, so that made it worth it right?  Not only that, but he went the extra mile to help her deliver it.  It was not necessary, really.  Yet, he did decide to pitch in to assist her because he could, and not because he had too.

Chloe has to admit he sure is generous when he puts his mind too it.  She laughs about how only two days prior, her mother told her he was a "bad influence" .  She thinks, oh, yeah!  How?  Is it because I feel myself more drawn to him than in the past is that why?   Is it because my mother does not want to loose her only daughter to a decent gentleman because she rather me remain single as a nun, or nanny?   Is it because she is afraid my love for him is genuine?  Maybe, she is afraid I will grow up to fast?

Whatever the reason, it does not really matter anymore because now I am on my own.  I can be whoever I wish to be, do what I choose to do, wear what I choose to wear, and live where I choose to live.  I can also, spend time with whomever I wish to spend time with now.  Yes, she reasons this day is a great reminder of this and much more.

Nathaniel drives back to his place.  He smiles the whole time.  He thinks, Chloe is the best.  I must ask her to be my girl.  He scratches his head and thinks, but how?  How?  She is so great, how does one go about with this sort of thing, when it comes to her?   He knows he has hung out with her a few times. Only none of those were dates, not really.  Not when Alan was around for a few.    Other than the day, he took her to the movies, he has yet to take her on a real date. Yes, he intends to do something about it really soon!
