"Allie, Hope you're done packing?" My mom yelled from the kitchen.

I left what I was doing and headed towards the kitchen.

"Mom, could you please reconsider what I told you?" I implored.

"No way!" She retorted. "There's possibly no way I'll go back on my words. "Sweetheart," she said as she approached me, her hands finding their way to my shoulders "you are old enough, already you have spent two years at home drooling and there's no possible way I'm gonna let you face that again."

"But mom..." I tried pleading once more.

"No! Allie, you are leaving and that's final." She yelled.

I hissed while walking away, anger written all over my face.

"Why does mom always go against my Will?" I thought as I approached my bedroom.

She often says she understood me but still forced me to go against my will.

Why doesn't she understand that I don't want to further my studies? I queried no one in particular as I sat on my bed. My eyes went over to my luggage which lay flat by the corner of the bed. I glanced around the room, several memories came occurring in my mind.

My gaze fell on a picture frame that was hung beautifully on the wall, a picture of myself and mum at my 11th birthday ceremony.

Tears dropped down my cheek as images of what transpired after then came brushing across my mind. I shook my head in an attempt to wipe off those images. And it worked, yes it always works.

"Allie!" I heard my mom calling out to me again.

"Not again" I screamed in my head.

Just let me be, woman! I need breathing space. It's my life and school, I do what I love.

"Get your stuff out, I'm waiting outside" she added

Disappointed and dejected, I replied almost screaming "I'll be right there mom, just a few minutes and I'll be out".

After a few minutes of arranging my stuff, I surveyed my room, and on my king-sized bed, lay my Teddy. I could see the sadness in her eyes, it almost broke me. She was sad because I was leaving her behind. My eyes were blinded with tears as they piled up in my eyes refusing to drop. I left the room after so much hesitation.

"Sweetheart, what's the matter?" Mum asked as I stepped out.

I approached her quietly, "Mom, please I don't wanna leave, "I said as I burst into tears unable to hold them anymore.

She reached out for my shoulder, gently placing her hands on them. I rested on her chest, sobbing quietly.

"Mum, please!!!" I pleaded in tears.

"Don't cry baby" she said wrapping her arms around me and gently patting my back. "You know how I hate seeing you in tears, clean up and take your stuff in?"

"Hey! what's wrong?" she said snapping her fingers across my face.

I jolted. It was then I realized I was daydreaming. How the fuck do I think my mom would adhere to my sayings? I felt so stupid at that moment.

"Sweetheart, you have been standing for close to five minutes now, hop in, and let's move," she said dragging my box along with her to the boot.

"Dear home, I will miss you," I muttered.

"Silver Bridge, please be nice to me," I murmured as my mom ignite her engine and zoomed off.

I watched our house from the car mirror as it gradually fade away, till it was out of view.
