Chapter 7
Chapter 7
I’ve already waiting for Madison downstairs at 6.30 sharp. Eager? Yes you can say that. I’ve been waiting to go out with her for nearly a week and finally it’s on. I hope everything goes on well and hope that my suspicious about her relationship with Steve is not true.
Lily knew about me going out with Madison and from her face I could see that’s she not happy but she tried to hide it. I think she’s still hoping that I would accept her as my girlfriend. I did my best to act brotherly towards her and I really hope that she would accept that I’m too old for her.
15 minutes later Madison came down looking beautiful as ever. She wore a dress and her hair tied nicely behind her. She smiled sweetly at me making me smiled back at her.
“Wow, you look beautiful,” I praised.
She smiled, “You always said that to me.”
“Well, that’s the truth,” I said, “You are beautiful.”
She smiled again, “Well let’s not waste time with you praising me. Let’s get going,” she said and linked her arms around me.
We went for dinner but I don’t why but I could feel someone is following us.
I realized that Madison is not so talkative unlike Lily. Lily is bubbly and always has something to say or talk. She makes me laugh and there's never a dull moment with her. With Madison, there more silence than talking and well, I have to admit that I do feel bored because she will only answer or talk whenever I talked or asked her questions.
I thought going to a movie would released me from being boring but unfortunately, the movie that Madison choose for us were bored to death. I tried my very best not to fall a sleep so that she won’t have bad impression on me on our first date.
I finally come to conclusion with our first date. Madison is not my type of a girl. She loves romantic movies which I hate. She’s not a talkative person, she prefer to be in her on thought, in other words she love to day dream. We have nothing in common, except going to the gym. She didn’t like outdoor game and gym is the only place she do her exercise, meaning, she never jog but only use the trade mills in the gym. She don’t like loud music, she prefer slow and symphonic music while I love rock and roll and fast music.
“I have a lovely night,” she said while we walking towards our car. Somehow I could still feel someone is following us.
“I have a lovely night too,” I responded which is a lie. Its another boring date just like I experience before.
Then she sighed, “But I don’t think you and I share anything in common,” she said softly.
“What make you said that?” I queered looking at her.
“Admit it Rick,” she looked at me, “You are bored to death tonight. I could feel it. Just admit it.”
I bite my lips, “It too obvious is it? I’m sorry.”
“No worries,” she chuckled.
“Let’s do it again and I promise you I’ll try to be fun next time,” I said to her.
“No, it’s not you fault. It’s mine too. I shouldn’t hide my feelings,” she sighed.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“I go out with you just to make someone jealous,” she admitted.
“Who? Steve?” I guessed. She nodded, “No wonder he’s glaring at me. I suspected there’s something going on between you two.”
“What?” she chuckled, “It obvious, huh?”
“Yeah, I saw you and him always tried to steal a glance on each other when either one of you not looking,” I pointed out.
“You realized,” she blushed.
“Yes, I do,” I nodded, “Funny how others didn’t know about you two?”
"Well, that’s the reason why I’m angry with Steve,” she confessed.
“What happened?” I asked.
“Steve told me he likes me and I admitted my feelings too, but Steve scared it will create an office affair so he wanted to keep it a secret,” she told me.
“Why? Is he married?”
“Of course not.” she scoffed.
“Then why he wanted to keep it a secret?” I asked again.
“Because he didn’t want people think that he’s taking advantage of me, because I’m the chairman’s daughter,” she explained, “and because he thought I’m engaged.”
“Engaged?” I queered.
“Yeah, to you,” she smirked.
“What make him think that?” I snorted.
“I don’t know. There’s a rumor going around the office that I and you are to be married by the end of this year,” she rolled her eyes.
“Who make such rumors?” I scoffed.
She shrugged, “I don’t know.”
I thought for a while. Could it be Mike who made out those rumors? It can’t be because he promised not to let any of his daughters except Keyshia know about this plan. Beside he didn’t know which one of his daughters that I’m going to choose.
“Don’t worry,” I said to her, “We’ll explain everything to everybody especially to Steve that we’re not engage and you two could go ahead telling and showing everyone how you felt towards each other.”
“He’s a stubborn man. He might not believe it. What more with him knowing we’ve gone on date?” she scoffed.
“I think he will believed,” and then I yelled, “Come out Steve!! I know you’ve been following us!!”
“What? He’s been following us?” asked Madison in shock.
I was only guessing but my instincts are right. Steve came out from the darkness, “You follow us?” asked Madison in anger.
“Yes, I can’t help but to follow. I can’t stop my jealous feeling of seeing you with him. I wanted to see what you two going to do with each other. Thank god nothing happen,” Steve admitted.
I chuckled, “When you going to come out? Until l I’m about to kiss her?” I asked.
“Yeah,” he nodded and Madison hit him.
“You have no right to stop him from doing anything to me,” she scoffed.
“You’re mine Mady, whether you like or not. You love me and I love you,” he snorted.
“I thought you don’t anymore,” she sneered.
“How could you think that,” he whined, “I’ve never stop loving you.”
“If that so, why you don’t want to admit or show your feeling in front of others,” she scoffed again.
“You know why,” he whined again.
“I don’t think you will create any affair, Steve,” I injected. “You both are not married. She’s not engaged to me.”
“You’re not engage to her?” he looked pleased with my nodded, “But then why Mr. Anderson tell me so?”
“Mr Anderson?” I queried.
“Yes, your grandfather,” he told me.
Damn that old man!!
