Chapter 15

"How are we going there?" I eagerly asked Brianna as we walked out of the house the next morning. She’s going to take me to her favorite place. Well that’s what she told me.

"We're taking Edward and Jacob," she said as we walked toward the garage.

"What are they actually?  Vampire and werewolf?" I joked.

"Mountain Bikes," she chuckled as she tried to pull up the garage door.

I assist her to it, "Do you name everything?" I dare to asked again.

She rolled her eyes before walking towards 5 bicycles lining up nicely. "There's Jacob," she showed me the black mountain bike while she walked to her orange bike.

"Hi, Jacob, nice to meet you," I mocked as I shook the handle of the bike as if shaking hands with it. I received a glare from Brianna.

"When you name something you ride or play, you will take extra care of it," she said me, "You'll treat them like human, with care."

"Oh, so that's why you name everything?" I smiled.

"Yes," she nodded proudly as we both closed the garage door together.

"I realised its all guys name," I can't help feeling a bit of jealousy.

"Well, I don't have any guys in my life, except dad. I always wish I have a big brother. He could teach me some guy stuff."

I smiled, "Not even a boyfriend?"

She chuckled, “I have a lot of boyfriends but they are all jerks just like the rest of the guys that I know."

"I'm not like the rest of the guys, I'm not a jerk," I told her but she rolled her eyes instead. "Really, I'm not. I'll prove it to you," I dare her.

“Hmm I love to see that," Brianna said as she climbed on her bicycles.

We were about to ride our bicycles when Lily called us up, “Wait up guys! Where are you going?”

“I’m going to take him to the hills,” Brianna told her.

“Can I come along?” asked Lily excitedly.

“Sure,” shrugged Brianna. Damn, there goes my chance of being alone with her.

“Wow, this is cool,” I smiled when we reached our destination. The place was not far away from their house. It’s actually their stables where they keep their horses. I didn’t know they have one until Brianna brought me here.

She laughed, “Yeah you could say that but you have not seen anything yet,” she said me. “The place I’m going to take you is more amazing than this.”

“Really?” I eagerly asked as I snapped some of the scenery that catches my eyes.

“Yeah, it’s Bree’s favorite place,” informed Lily.

“I know, Bree has told me,” I smiled at Brianna who was smiling at me too.

“Yeah but we have to take the horse,” Brianna said and then looked at me concernedly, “Do know how to ride one?”

“I think Rick knows how to ride, Bree,” injected Lily, “He has a ranch. Am I right, Rick?”

I nodded my head, “Yeah, we do.”

“Sorry, I don’t remember much about your place,” Brianna said coyly, “It’s been long time since I’ve been there.”

“Yeah, 10 years,” I reminded her and she smiled.

“Morning, Bree, Lily,” greeted a guy making us turned towards him. He’s look like he’s in mid thirties, “Should I bring Snowy for you, Bree and are you going for a ride too Lily?”

“Morning James,” Brianna greeted him back with all smile making me feel a bit jealous while Lily just nodded.  “Yes and I need Thunder for him,” she said to him before introduced us, “By the way, this is Mr. Anderson. Mr. Anderson, meet Jake. He’s the caretaker here,” she told me.

I shook James’s hand and he smiled, “Nice to meet you Mr. Anderson.”

"Call me, Rick," I said to James before vanishing into the stables.

Lily grabbed my hand and showed me around the stables. I turned and looked at Brianna. I don’t want her to be angry with me and have wrong perception on me again. As if she understands what I’m trying to prove, she smiled and nodded her head.

“We only have 8 horses here, not as big as yours. Each of us has our own. Bree’s call Snowy and mine call Disney,” Lily explained.

“You ride horses?” I asked her, “I never see you ride one?”

Lily laughed, “I don’t really ride them as often as Bree. She rode them everyday.’

I stopped and looked at Brianna who’s walking behind us, “So this is where you’ve been hiding?”

Brianna chuckled as she catch up besides me, “Yeah you could say that. Do you own any horse?”

“Yeah I do,” I nodded my head, “Mine is a beautiful black stallion which I call Blaze. It’s a gift from my Grandpa on my 17th Birthday.”

“Do you ride it often?” she asked.

“Not that often after I start working. I don’t have the time but I do ride him once a while when I’m free.” I told her.

We turned our head when we heard the sound of the horses coming towards us. James has brought the horses for us.

Brianna walked towards James and took one horse from him, “This is Snowy,” she introduces a beautiful white mane. “Isn’t she beautiful?” stroking it gently.

“Yes, she is,” I nodded my head in agreement with her as I stroke her horse.

“This is mine. She a beuty too right? That’s Thunder,” injected Lily and introduced to the horse James was holding as he passed the rope to me, “It belongs to dad.”

“Hi Thunder,” I greeted the horse while stroking him, “He’s a beauty too.” Brianna smile sweetly before climbing up the horse without much hassle like a pro. She’s done it so many times. James helped Lily to get on her horse. I didn’t want to embarrass myself and mount the horse like a pro too. Luckily I did well. I haven’t rides any horses for long time actually since I don’t have the time.

We rode side by side along a narrow road towards our next destination. We stopped along the way as I take my time taking pictures of the scenery around us. It’s beautiful and I really enjoy the view.  Along the way, Brianna will tell me about the place and how she really fond of this place but as usual, Lily will interrupt in all the conversation. She never leaves us alone, not even for one minute.

“I really have a wonderful day today,” I told Brianna after we parked our mountain bike back in the garage. Lily is right behind us. 

She happily smiled, “I glad you do. We can go somewhere else next time. There’s a lot of amazing places around here, you know.”

“Really, I love that,” I smiled. “We could do that tomorrow.”

She laughed, “You’ll be working tomorrow and I have classes.”

I sloughed my shoulders feeling disappointed, “I totally forgotten about that.”

“It’s ok, we can do whenever you free. If you not tired, tomorrow I take you to a place where you can capture beautiful scenery at night,” she suggested.

“Wow, that’s would be great,” I said to her, “It’s on.

“Can I come too?” asked Lily excitedly.

“Sure,” Brianna nodded while I try not to roll my eyes in front of her.
