Chapter 14

Chapter 14

Lily gasped looking at me lying on the bed. She then looked at Brianna who was standing beside the bed.

“It’s not what you think,” said Brianna, “I’m simply applying this toothpaste on his body. He had some hot spaghetti sauce on his body,” she explained.

Lily gasped again, “What actually happened?” she concernedly asked.

“I didn’t realize the spaghetti bowl is hot. I think I have ruined our dinner,” I looked at Brianna apologizing to her at the same time.

“It’s ok. I’ll just cook it again,” Brianna said and past the toothpaste to Lily, “Here, you take care of him,” and immediately get out of my room.

“Is there any place else that need to apply this?” Lily concernedly asked me.

I shook my head, “I think Brianna has applied all,” I said to her covering myself. “I better get up and help her to clean the kitchen. I’ve spilled everything.”

Lily smiled, “I’ll go and help her. You just relax. Let your burned subsides,” she said and with that, she got out from my room. Phew! Thank god she didn’t suspected anything but what to suspect right? There’s nothing happen between me and Brianna, well maybe something nearly happen.  Damn, I nearly get Brianna to be friendly with me.

Brianna continued ignoring me after that. She avoided eye contact with me. She totally went hiding again after dinner and I couldn’t find her anywhere not even in the bathroom.

I was on my way back home from office the next day when suddenly I realized that my car fuel was low and it started to jerk indicating that the engine will die soon. I totally forgot to refill the tank. Good thing I manage to stop the car at the road side. I immediately call Mike asking him to send someone to bring me the fuel.

An hour later I saw a familiar motorbike approaching me. It’s Brianna.

She stooped her bike in front of me, and lift up her face visor, “Here your gas, Mr. Anderson,” she said while handling me a small gas tank.

“Thank you, Ms Silverstones,” I replied in the same serious tone she used while taking the gas tank for her and walked over to my car and fill it. I guess we still not friends.

“What a stupid moron forgot to fill his car?” she scoffed behind me.

I cast a look at her before concentrating back on filling my car, “I was so preoccupied today. I was too busy with meetings and work, I totally forgot about it,” I told her. “I realized the signal but I thought its enough to take me to the gas station in front.”

“’E’ does not mean enough,” she smirked.

“Yeah I realized that,” I smiled and emptying the gas. “Thank you for reminding me. I’ll make sure I won’t forget that next time.”

She rolled her eyes before walking back to her motorbike. I got in and drove away with her leading the way but we immediately go separate ways when we reached home. God, I really have no idea how to make this girl talk to me or be my friend.

I was bored as Lily has to study for her coming exam and her friends are not coming for jamming today. I decided to spend my time in the library instead. Maybe I could find something interesting to read.

I was surprised to find Brianna there. Oh, this is where she normally hides. She has her legs curled up in a big chair looking so comfortable reading a book.

“Hi,” I greeted her and she immediately looked shock.

“What are you doing here, Mr. Anderson?” she asked bringing her eyebrows together obviously not happy to see me there.

“I’m bored. I thought I could look for something to read,” I told her.

“Why don’t you go out clubbing with your friends instead?” she said but more like a suggestion.

“I don’t really like clubbing,” I told her, “I prefer staying home instead. Why are you not out clubbing? I asked her instead.

“Clubbing is not my style either,” she said.

I smiled and raised my eyebrows, “Hmm, we have something in common there.” She rolled eyes again.  “Wow, there are so many books in here,” I said looking through all the books on the racks. There must be thousand of books in here.

“Yes, we all love to read but most of them don’t have time anymore,” she explained, “What type of books are you looking for? Maybe I could show you which rack you should look,” she offered.

“Hmm, mystery and thriller,” I told her.

“Over there,’ she pointed at one of the center ranks.

“Thanks,” and I walked towards it, “What kind of books do you normally read?” I asked while looking through the titles of the books.

“Anything that readable,” she sarcastically responded.

I finally found a book that interest me, I took it out from the shelf and sat opposite her, “Hmm, a story from Stephen Colin,” I comments looking at the titles of the book she’s holding. “What’s the story about?”

She lowered the book and look at me, “About something interesting,” she smirked and rolled her eyes before continued reading.

“Do you spend a lot of time here?’ I asked.

She looked at me angrily, “Are you here to read or are you here to chat?”

“I thought of reading some books but when I see you here, I think I love to chat with you. It’s not easy to be alone with you so I think I’m going to take that chance now,” I replied smiling sweetly at her.

She sternly looked at me, “Well, I don’t want to chat with you. I want to read. Library is not a place to chat but to read. So if you want to chat, go and find Lily. She’ll happily oblige to your needs.”

“I don’t want to disturb Lily. She’s studying for her exam. Besides I don’t think it a good idea if I spend a lot of time with her. She might still think she can change my feelings towards her,” I explained.

“Hmm, you probably right about that,” she shrugged.

"Wow," my eyes suddenly caught a paintings hang on the wall. It's a picture of scenery. I got up and walked towards it. "It's beautiful." I praised. I bend nearer to read the artist's name written on it. It's signed by Brianna.

I turned and look at Brianna who was looking at me. "Wow," I looked at her in amaze, "You drew this?" She blushed and nodded, "Wow, amazing." I praised again. "You really have skills."

She smiled and continued blushing, an amazing new sight of her. "You think so?" she shyly asked.

"Yeah, really," I nodded smiling back at her. I want her to continued smiling at me. "Lily told me that you are the one that drew the murals on my bedroom wall. Is that true?" I asked and she nodded shyly at me.

"Wow amazing," I praised again while she continued blushing. I’m actually praising her because she looks amazingly beautiful when she blushed. "I find people who have talents with brush are gifted. They just run their brush on a blank paper or wall and it came out amazing. I for one do not have such talents,” I added making her smiled shyly at me.

"Maybe you have not really try?" she said putting the book she's holding on the chair where she sat earlier and walked towards me. Hmm, I finally succeed in making her talk to me without rolling her eyes.

"No," I shook my head, "I've tried once but it turned into a disaster," and she laughed with me. "Are you learning to be an artist?" I asked.

"No, I'm majoring in photography and designs. Painting is just my hobby," she told me still smiling shyly.

“Wow, photography. I love photography too,” I told her.

“You do?” she asked excitedly, “What kinds of pictures do you normally takes?”

“I love nature and scenery,” I told her.

“Wow,” she chuckled, “Me too.”

“Hmm, we have second things in common then,” I chuckled with her.

Still chuckling she asked, “Do you take a lot of pictures?”

“Yeah, I do when I’m at home. I have them in my computer. Do you want to see them?” I offered

“Really? Sure,” she excited responded. We abandon our books and walked to my room. “Wow, beautiful,” she praised looking at my collections. "What camera did you use?"

"Oh," and I walked to my wardrobe and took my camera begs from the drawers, "This," proudly showing her my camera.

"What you have this camera?" she excitedly took it from me, "Wow, this is the best camera ever."

"Yeah, I know," I smiled triumphly, “I haven’t got the chance to shoot anything while here. Besides, I don’t really know the place well, so I don’t know where I find a good picture,” I said to her who still holding and playing with my camera.

She smiled, “I can show you. I know a place that would amaze you as a photographer.”

“Really? Wow, that’s would be great,” I said excitedly. “When can we start?”

“How about tomorrow after breakfast,” she told me.

“Hmm, I can’t wait,” I smiled. Finally, I’m going out on a date with Brianna without she’s realizing it. I really look forward to it.
