Chapter Twenty-Six: The Reveal

The Prius drove all around town. It went up and down and was going pretty fast. The girl was in the driver's seat and had a tight grip on the steering wheel. The boy was in the passenger seat and watching her drive and make sharp turns. There were also three people in the back, two of which were Kathy and Stine. They remained wooden puppets.

"Why have you not changed them back to their regular forms?" the boy questioned the girl, referring to Stine and Mrs. Quinn.

"I told you earlier. I will worry about them when we get there. I did not want to do it after we put out the fire because I know that they would ask us stupid questions."

"Oh." He looked at the dummies who used to be humans, and then back at her. "Are you sure that nobody will remember who we are?"

"I am positive. Stine, Zach, Hannah, Champ, and Shelly. Their minds were erased. The only people who should not know us are Kathy, Sarah, Sonny, and Sam. And I am thinking about not changing them back. It will take more time than I have, and both of us do not have much time. That is why I brought her along."

"You mean Margie?"

"That is me!" another girl by the name of Margie exclaimed happily, leaning forward in her seat. The moon casted a white light on her. "I am here to help. Plus, this fanfiction needed a guest star from Forlot, and I appear in the Forlot book Monster Protector."

The boy nodded and shook hands with Margie. "It is nice to finally meet you. And you do not need to inform the readers where you are from. I am sure that they know you."

"Pfft! Four - maybe less than that - readers know who I am. Almost nobody reads Forlot_Forever's Forlot books. They read her dumb fanfictions!"

"But I have heard that you like—"

"Love."

"Of course. You love Goosebumps. So what is the problem?"

"Do you know how much time and effort our writer puts into her books? Even her anxiety cannot stop her! That is how dedicated she is! She was - and still is - proud of the work that she put into her Forlot books. But does anyone read them? No!"

"Wait. You said that four—"

"My point is that it would be kind if the readers read her Forlot books and not just her fanfictions. It would make her happy! I mean, who does not want to make a person happy?"

"Shh!" the girl who was not Margie shushed them. "We are here."

They got to the Tesla tower. Or...what was left of the tower. It was a castle with dark colors. The girl drove the Prius up to the gravel road that was near the castle and put it in park. She picked up two objects that were in the cup holders and handed them to Margie. One was a small jar of black and purple liquid, and the other was a needle that was empty.

"Put the liquid in the empty part of the needle," she instructed. "Once you have done that, stick the needle into Stine and Kathy, one arm in each."

"Okay," Margie said. "I have a question though."

"What is it?"

"Why is the liquid in the jar? Why did you not put it in the needle beforehand?"

She facepalmed. "I had no time! Jeez!" She opened her car door and got out. She shut the door and waited for the boy to do the same. "Are you ready?"

"As I will ever be," the boy replied.

The two sprinted to the castle. The girl glanced up and realized that electricity was coming from the top of the tower. She had a sneaky suspicion of what was going on from up there.

"Stupid dummy."

Slowly and quietly, they went in the castle and looked around.

"Where is everyone?" the boy wondered.

"The monsters are not here right now," the girl explained. "I can sense it. As for the humans, they are in the dungeon. Come on!"

They ran down a hall and soon came to a set of stairs that led to the dungeon. Careful to not make a sound, they tiptoed down the stairs. The steps made a couple of squeaks here and there, but they were not loud enough for anybody to hear.

The boy and girl walked down the aisle of jail cells. The children from the orphanage were in some of the cells. Even Mrs. Hopper was there.

Mrs. Hopper saw them and waved frantically. "Help me! I do not belong here!"

The girl sighed heavily, halted, and forced the boy to do the same. "We will rescue all of you soon," she told them. "I know that you all desperately want to get out of here, but surprisingly, you are safe being in the cells. My friend and I need to put the monsters back in their place so they will neither scare you nor hurt you ever again. It is for your safety." She placed her hands on her hips. "Now...is there a Zach here? A Hannah? A Champ? A Sarah? A Sonny? A Sam?"

"That would be us," a combination of voices called out. The boy and girl turned around.

"Aha! We found you," the boy said.

"Who are you?" Champ asked. "You are not working for the dummy...are you?"

"I am Cassandra Blossom," the girl said. "And with me is my friend Shawn Matthews. And no, we do not work for the dummy." Black and purple liquid appeared in the palm of her hand. The liquid formed into a key, and she shoved the key into the keyhole and managed to open the cell door. "We need to get to the top of the tower."

Shawn and the kids followed Cassandra. They got to the top...

...and spotted a wooden puppet in the electric chair.

"Hello," Shelly said creepily.
