Chapter Thirty-Three: Remembering The Times

Cassandra let out a gasp. She had to hear what she said one more time.

"What did you say?"

"I remember...I remember!"

"What do you remember?"

"I...remember..."

"Yes?"

"...that you...are my..."

"Yes!"

Shelly narrowed her eyebrows. "...enemy!" She jerked away from her.

Cassandra was mad. She thought that this storyline of her getting her memory back would finally happen at this point in time.

"That is it!" she yelled. "I have had enough with this!"

Shelly placed her hands on her hips. "Enough with what?"

"This crub! It has gone on for too long!"

"Uh..."

"The readers have been patient from the very beginning! So have I! And you pull this stunt on us?! To think that your memory returned?"

"But—"

"I do not want to hear you or your annoying voice! That puppet voice! 'Cause you will whine and complain like you did in the last chapter!"

"...Cassandra?"

"I am your caretaker! You are like a daughter..." She paused and stared at her. "You...did you just say...?"

She nodded. "I did. I said your name...Cassandra."

Tears started streaming down the caretaker's cheeks. "...Shelly!" She hugged her tightly. "You remember my name. Thank gosh!"

The doll let out a cough and was having trouble breathing. "C-Cassandra...please let go...I-I cannot breathe..."

"Oh. Sorry." She quickly pulled away and smiled. "I guess that I do not know my own strength. I am just excited that you know my name!"

Shelly put a hand on her chest and breathed in and out. "I remember you. You are my caretaker. We did not have a good relationship until you revealed the truth about me and let me have my freedom back."

"Correct!" She patted her head. "Is there anything else that you recall?"

"Yes...I remember it all."

Indeed. The orphan girl remembered everything that had happened. Even the tiny details.

In 2015. When Shelly and her parents moved to the small town of Madison. The horrible crash that left her mom and dad dead. Then come to find out, she actually had no parents. Her mom and dad were imaginary. She had made them up. The only ones who raised her all along were her "Non-Fiends," the people whom she thought of and brought to life. Why were the parents imaginary and not the "Non-Fiends"?

The answer: she was in a coma...for three years.

The events that occurred during those three years did not exist. They were fakes. Even her best friends Chase and Carrots were not real. Knowing these facts alone hurt her. But at least she knew the truth.

However, that was not the only thing.

A certain dummy. Slappy. He kidnapped and forced her to be his bride. He even tried getting married to her! What a psycho.

And here he was again. This time, he lied to her so that she would lean on him. He got rid of Frank and Ms. Jane and made her pregnant. Possibly with his magic and...other things.

Shelly gritted her teeth. "That dummy." Her eyes widened, and she examined herself. "What...why am I...wooden?"

"Oh, sweetheart. I am sorry. Slappy turned you into a puppet like him."

"...what?!"

"Calm down. I am sure that once we trap him and the monsters in the book, you will return to your human self."

"I hope so. I do not want to be a stupid puppet!"

"The readers want you back to normal too."

She rubbed her arm. "I am glad that someone is on our side."

Suddenly, they heard a loud screech.

"Wah!"

"What was that?" Cassandra wondered.

"It sounds like a baby," Shelly commented. She then gasped. "Tamara!"

The caretaker scooped her up and rushed to where the crying was coming from.

The orphan hugged on her. "I thought that you had frozen time!"

"I did, but the remote is one of Libby's newest inventions. It has some glitches."

"Like what?!"

"Time unfreezes itself after ten to fifteen minutes."

"Oh, no." She became worried for her baby sister.

Cassandra was right. Time was beginning to unfreeze. Slappy and the monsters started moving, and the humans, Margie, and Shawn continued planning to attack. Slappy noticed that Cassandra was taking off with his bride.

"Do not worry, my queen," he said to himself. "I will rescue you. And your mind will be erased...permanently."

The two girls entered the castle and looked around, listening intently for the cries.

"Wah!"

"It is coming from over there!" Shelly exclaimed, pointing to a hall.

"Then we are going that way," Cassandra stated as she jogged down the hallway.

The crying got louder and louder, and they soon spotted a door. The caretaker kicked the door open and hurried in, and the girls gasped to what they saw.

The room was the laboratory. In the center of the room was a small, square table. Next to the table was a chair - and Walter the Ogre was sitting in it.

He was holding a fork and a knife and looking down at what was on the table. A plate. Napkins. And what was on the plate?

Baby Tamara.

She was crying and kicking her little legs and feet.

Walter licked his lips. "Yum!"

"Tamara!" Shelly called out.

"Heck no!" Cassandra protested.

"Goo!" another baby cooed.

It was Slappy Jr.

The baby boy crawled into the laboratory and tilted his head up. His focus was on Tamara.

"Goo! Goo!"

He reached for the table, jumped up, grabbed ahold of the table, and grasped Tamara's hand. He grabbed her and fell back. His back hit the floor, and the baby girl landed on him. It hurt him a bit, but he did not care. He was just happy that she was alright.

"Awe!" Shelly and Cassandra said at the same time.

"My dinner!" Walter stated.

"Do not worry, Walter. You will have dinner soon enough."

Cassandra and Shelly spun around.

It was Slappy. And he was not happy.
