Song: Heaven by Emilee

Four months later...

One of the best parts of being married?

Getting to see my husband's face first thing in the morning.

It may sound cliché and unrealistic. But as I stand by the stairs and watch Park Baekhyun decorate the receiving area with gold streamers and balloons, I just can't help but cross my arms over my chest, smiling a little at how he frowns and pouts when the floating spheres won't behave the way he wants them to. My husband is wearing this pair of black shorts that exposes enough skin to keep me staring for a long while and a loose red shirt printed with the logo of his favorite girl group. His hair is disheveled but light as the morning breeze sways with it. He hasn't taken a bath yet but his skin is glowing against the early sunlight.

The sight was ethereal. And for a second, I cannot believe this godly scene is all mine to witness.

Baekhyun lifted a string of streamers overhead before finally realizing someone's watching him. "Hm?" he hummed curiously, turning to look at me with a suspicious pout, before it disappeared to a large smile. "Hey, honey," he exclaimed happily. "You're awake!"

I grinned back, nodding as I slowly approached him. "Good morning," I murmured before taking the streamers from his hands so he could give his undivided attention to me. "You guys woke up early."

"True," he giggled, and his dark brown eyes shone brightly with the rays of the sun seeping through the glass wall of the house. "The twins love sunbathing."

"Yeah, they do," I chuckled, turning my head to one side to look at Nhoei and Nari, cooing and moving aimlessly in their daybed as they basked in the warmth of the morning sun. Like Baekhyun, the twins wake up pretty early and my husband always sees to it that he could bring them downstairs with him every morning. Sometimes, it almost seems like he can't start his day right if they're not with him. Rain, our dog, is also very protective. He spends most of his day lying beside the twin's bed, always on guard.

After giving Baekhyun an endearing kiss on the cheek, I walked over to our babies and watched as Nari's eyes immediately traveled to mine before her lips twisted to a huge smile. "Hello, princess," I whispered, running my finger under her chin. "Good morning. Are you glad to see daddy?"

Nari cooed again and smiled even wider, making me chuckle happily. Look, my sister isn't even married yet and I have never seen my cousins when they were just this small. I didn't even like kids before. But I don't know— Being a father has opened this new kind of fulfillment in my heart that I never even knew existed before. There's that one kind of love you never know you could possess and give until you are given the opportunity.

That opportunity's now. And I have never been this happy.

When I looked at Nhoei, he's once again just staring at me, eyes affectionate but face expressionless. If Nari's an easy baby to please, her twin brother is the complete opposite. Geez. I think I could already imagine their adult personalities.

Suddenly, I felt two arms wrap around my waist and Baekhyun pressed his cheek on my shoulder as he sighed. "Nari seriously adores you," he mutters with a slight pout as he meets my eyes. "She never smiles that bright for me."

"Of course she does," I said. "You just don't know how to effectively make her smile yet."

Baekhyun pouts even more and I can't help but reach and hold him by the waist instead so I could pull him closer. "I make funny faces all the time," my husband grumbled adorably. "Nhoei merely looks at me and Nari never beams like that."

I can't help but laugh rather loudly. "I can imagine that vividly, hon."

"What? Nhoei's blank stare?" He asks.

"No. You, making funny faces," I answered.

My husband tried to glare as he lightly hit my chest with the back of his hand. "Shut up," he rolls his eyes though they're still kind of sad. No matter how many times I comfort him, I think my husband still gets mushy over the littlest things—Not that they don't mean anything. But Park Baekhyun has been the best Papa to the twins. He stopped attending the art school to be with them twenty-four-seven and barely visits the cafe anymore. He's been nothing but a full-time artist, parent, and husband and I don't think I could ask for anything more from him. I looked down at Baekhyun, cocking my head to one side, before reaching up to gently brush his permanently blushed cheeks. God. He's almost too beautiful for this world.

"So, babe," I started in a gentle voice, taking away his attention from sulking. "How's the decorating going?"

Baekhyun can't help but groan inwardly. "Urgh," he met my eyes quickly. "I should have listened to you when you said we should hire a decorator. The job's really difficult."

"That's okay! I'm going to help you," I beamed.

My husband grinned back, "I know you want to, Park Chan," he mutters. "But you got work. And besides, I asked some of the girls and Kyungsoo to help me. They'll be here anytime soon."

"Oh?" I raised a brow. "You don't trust your husband's decorating skills?"

"Well," Baek chewed unto his lower lip, pretending to think. "Yeah... I don't think you're an expert in that area, hon."

"Oh, ow," I clasped my chest dramatically which only made Baekhyun giggle and roll his eyes. He returned his attention to the twins, who are still watching the surroundings—Light brown eyes drifting from our faces and to our clothes and back. They may not see us clearly yet, but they do respond well to our voices and presence. When I looked back at my husband and watched him brush Nhoei's and Nari's hair gently with his fingers, I realized he's still wearing this emotion of longing and affection I have never quite understood yet. It almost seems like he still can't believe we have them. Like they are a miracle he can't believe has been granted to us.

For some reason, I suddenly wanted to give my husband a moment with his thoughts. "You had your coffee already, love?" I asked in a soft voice.

Baekhyun just shook his head, smiling at me. "Nope. Not yet."

I gave him a chaste kiss on the temple. "I'll make you one," I said before quickly heading towards the kitchen.

Nhoei and Nari have been with us for a few months now but tonight will be the first time we'll be celebrating their arrival with some family members—Like a welcome party. My husband has finally agreed to throw them a celebration after the many times my sister and his friends begged him to. It's not like Baekhyun dislikes parties. He just doesn't want to tire the twins over some noise they don't understand yet—And I'm just the husband who respects and goes along with whatever decision he makes.

After putting enough milk and sugar in Baekhyun's cup and filling mine with just brewed coffee, I grabbed the mugs and was pleasantly startled for a moment as I heard my husband's voice fill the entire house—Getting louder as I approached the receiving area. The melody is familiar, something I hear almost every night when I pass by the nursery and catch a glimpse of Baek rocking Nari or Nhoei in his arms whenever one of them feels agitated. Ever since we transferred the twins to their own room and started supervising them instead using a baby monitor, Baekhyun has always been so attentive, calm, and patient. He wasn't panicky and anxious.

But boy, I don't think my husband has been this emotional before our kids came by.

I couldn't help but chuckle a little when I caught Baekhyun quickly wiping a tear from his cheek as I placed the two cups of coffee on a nearby table. "Hon, you're crying again," I gently teased him, walking over to the stereo to play some soft music.

"I know," he mumbled, smiling off a sob. "But look how peaceful they are after I sing to them, Park Chan," he whispered and that's absolutely true. Nhoei is a grumpy baby and is really difficult to pacify— But only Baekhyun could keep him from crying. All my husband has to do is pull him against his chest and sing him a song— Any song— Because as long as it's Baekhyun's voice he could hear, our son would abruptly stop crying, eyes fluttering to attention and then back to a quiet sleep. And well, Nari's happy as long as her twin brother's not crying his heart out.

When I peeked into the twin's daybed, I saw them fast asleep again, and Baekhyun is a hovering pretty face with teary eyes and a beautiful smile. Sighing, I traveled my hand to my husband's, taking his fingers one by one and slowly intertwining them with mine. Baekhyun spared me a curious glance.

"What are you...?"

"Come here," I murmured, giving him a sly smirk.

Slowly understanding what I'm trying to do, Baekhyun chuckled lightly, shaking his head in amusement. "You and your tricks, huh?" he giggled as I pulled him near me until I could feel his chest press against mine. The song suddenly playing from the speakers is light and somehow tells a lot about what I feel about Park Baekhyun right now. And I don't think it's a good idea to let an opportunity like this slip.

"Don't cry now, my love," I whispered as I felt Baekhyun's arms wrap around my waist, his cheek gently resting on my chest.

My mind doesn't know

What to do when it's all alone

And your mind rushes in

And lets me know ways that I can grow

I find that you and I

We utilize our space and time

And I want to be with you forever

"You have work, don't you?" Baekhyun murmured as he sighed contentedly, his body seemingly melting the moment he felt my arms around him. "I don't want you to be late," he added in a muffled voice.

I laughed lightly then shook my head. "Let me comfort you first, baby." Leaning down, I planted a soft kiss on Baekhyun's hair before tightening my hold around his small frame. He smells amazingly of rose gardens and dew and morning air— And I do not have any idea how he could be so perfect.

We're flying so high now and I can't come down

Every time I see you I feel a way that I can't explain

You just got to know that you're so much more than you think you worth

You are my heaven on earth

You are my heaven on earth

Your heaven on earth

Park Baekhyun and I danced quietly with the music, embracing each other and not really caring if we're in sync with the melody or not. We may be together almost all the time but it's simple moments like this—the proximity, gentle caresses, and forehead kisses—that makes my endearing husband the calmest. It's technically his stress-reliever.

"You know I'm so proud of you, right?" I murmured and Baekhyun pulled back a little so he could look up at me. His eyes are wide and almost star-like.

"Hm?" he hummed, cocking his head to one side. "Of course...," he whispered back. "And I'm proud of you, too, honey."

"No," I shook my head a little. "What I mean is... I'm proud of everything you're doing for me, for Nhoei, and for Nari."

The words made Baekhyun pause before his eyes softened entirely. "Oh..."

"You didn't need to leave the art school for us, baby, you know that. But you want to be there for their first smile, laugh, or roll," I smiled. "You want to be able to finally cook me a full-course dinner whenever I come home. You want to take care of us so bad despite your probably busy schedule, too. And I'm so proud of you, baby," I reached up and brushed some soft strands from his face. "And I'm so thankful... From the littlest things to the grandest ones you do for us."

Baekhyun bit his lip because he's probably about to cry already. "Park Chanyeol... You..."

I took one of Baekhyun's hands and gently pressed them against my own cheek. "I just hope you're happy, my love," I murmured, staring deeply into his eyes because I want him to know how sincere I am right now. "You can ask me anything—Tell me anything—I'm right here. I would give you anything you want, Park Baekhyun. Anything in this world. Just tell me, okay?"

I felt him brush my cheek gently as he shook his head. "You're everything to me right now, you know that right? And you make me feel so, so happy..." he whispered, eyes slowly filling with tears. "I love you, Park Chanyeol. I love you so much..." Standing on his tiptoes, Baekhyun gave me a long, lingering kiss on the lips and I don't think I could let him go as soon as I felt those soft lips against mine. I held him securely by the waist, pulling him up as I kissed him back gently, tongue gliding across his lower lip and sucking slowly just as he parted his mouth for me. Baekhyun reached up to wrap his arms around my neck as we continued kissing, long enough before we finally pulled back for a breath.

My husband has this beautiful smile on his face as I pressed my forehead against his. "Have I ever told you..." I mused as I reached up to quickly wipe his bottom lip with my thumb. "How disarmingly gorgeous you are, Park Baekhyun?"

Baekhyun laughs kindly. "Yeah, you did," he kissed me again. "And you tell me that all the time, now I'm starting to believe you."

"Then believe me," I hugged him again until I could nuzzle his cheek. "I never lie to you anyway."

My husband answered me with another laugh that rang beautifully inside my head. It's almost time to start preparing for work, but I can't bear to unwrap my arms around Baekhyun just yet, so we danced to another slow song, murmured stories that made us snicker and gasp, and shared quick kisses I don't think I could ever get enough of. We stayed like that for so many minutes and felt so comfortable we failed to notice Jenny Kim and Lisa Manoban arrive at the penthouse.

"Oh my god! It's almost seven, Park Chanyeol! You gotta go to work!" Lisa exclaimed, catching our full attention in just a second.

Baekhyun gasped and blushed red in embarrassment while I mainly just threw them a boring glance. "You guys are going to wake the babies up," I pointed out.

"Oh!" Lisa clasped a hand over her lips. "Sorry~" she mouthed as she made a peace sign.

When Jenny and Lisa excitedly went to see the babies, I took the liberty to give my husband another kiss before finally letting go of him— Well, I still got a hand locked around his fingers. "I'm going to start preparing for work," I sighed. "And your coffee's all cold now."

"Oh, you're right," he said. "I'll just heat it up again."

I asked for another kiss and Baekhyun gave it to me lovingly. "I'll see you later, my love," I muttered against his cheek.

"Yeah," Baekhyun beamed and it basically took my wits away. "See you, Park Chan."
