#1.5 - Park Boob-magnet Chanyeol

We arrived at the Park residence by eight in the morning and the very first thing I noticed are the unknown vehicles outside. My fiance and I are both on our way to our jobs and we just came by to drop off the pets because we couldn't find a sitter for them. Chanyeol stopped his car just as the automatic gates open, squinting outside like he's trying to recall something. Peanut is sleeping on my lap and the dog, who we are now calling Rain because of the weather from when I found him, is at the backseat playing with his frog stuffed toy.

"You know who they are?" I asked my fiance, running a hand along Peanut's fur.

Chanyeol shrugged, suddenly unconcerned. "Not sure, baby," he answered. "But I'm pretty sure this isn't a big deal or something."

The main house is a few meters drive from the gates and to my surprise, there are men dressed in security outfit just by the front doors. Chanyeol stopped the car just outside the front porch, handing his car keys to their personal valet. I stepped outside, Peanut still in my arms and I opened the backseat just so Rain could jump out and run straight inside the house. He's really quick in being familiar with places.

Park Chanyeol places a hand just against the small of my back and we walked inside together just as we heard laughter coming from the receiving area. "The guards said it's my aunt," Chanyeol muttered beside me. "I wonder what's up."

The visiting room isn't filled with people like I expected. Instead, there's only my fiance's parents and his sister. And like he said, Chanyeol's Aunt Sae Hyun is also there and she must have been the one who brought all the bodyguards in. When we entered the room, everyone looked up with surprise and glee.

"Oh, you're both here!" Yura grinned, waving us in. "Come over and join us for tea." We started greeting each other with hugs and I noticed how definitely uneasy Aunt Sae Hyun is. She gave me a quick hug, but her gaze wanders off soon after.

Before his mother could pour me a cup, I looked at Chanyeol, holding unto his arm and pulling him to a corner. "I'm supervising the shop today, babe," I murmured. "I can't stay long—"

"Oppa!"

When I looked, I was only able to catch a glimpse of wavy blonde hair before a pair of arms went to wrap themselves around Chanyeol. The girl basically pushed me aside so she could squeeze herself between my fiance and I. Peanut scrambled off my arms and to the nearest couch, but not before giving the girl an annoyed hiss.

And even though her back is on me, I already know who she is. I could only give out a sigh.

"Sun Hee?" My fiance looks utterly surprised, his arms raised and not sure what to do. He gave me a look, eyes wide, and I just gave a slight shrug because I have no idea what the hell is this character doing here. The girl just hugged him tighter in response, suddenly sobbing and murmuring "Oppa" continuously. Finally, with a sigh, Park Chanyeol slowly hugged her back though his face still shows confusion. He looks around the room and now, everyone is already watching us.

So basically, Sun Hee is Park Chanyeol's sixteen year old cousin who is currently living in Japan. I heard she and Chanyeol were really close just before Sun Hee's family decided to migrate because of her father's business. She's an only child. She's pretty and sweet. But to me, she's just a typical spoiled brat who does everything to make things worse.

In other words, she hates me. Like really hates me for the same reason as Lara Sanders: I stole Chanyeol from them. And obviously, I'm not giving him back.

"Oppa, I missed you!" Sun Hee sobbed when she pulled back, her arms still around my fiance's torso. Chanyeol smiled at her but his gaze shifted to me again in worry. Of course he knows how his cousin feels about me. Sun Hee sniffed and followed Chanyeol's eyes, curious as to what's catching her favorite cousin's attention so much. And HA! Surprise. It's me.

"Oh, it's you," she mutters, eyes suddenly turning to pure annoyance. "Didn't see you there, Byun Baekhyun."

I gave her a slight wave and a forced smile. "Hello there, Sun Hee."

"The dishes aren't here, though," she pouts. "I wonder why you're not in the kitchen."

"Sun Hee..." Chanyeol warns, giving his cousin a stern look. "Byun Baekhyun's my fiance now and I believe you ought to give him respect. We already talked about this, didn't we?"

Sun Hee glares at me but when she returned her look at Chanyeol, she's an angel again. "We did, Oppa," she said. "But I still can't believe you would settle with--"

"That's enough!" Aunt Sae Hyun shouts and Sun Hee obviously flinched, pressing her face against Chanyeol again and hiding her cries. I don't even know if they're real or what. Aunt Sae Hyun rushed to my direction, taking my hand. "Baekhyun, dear, I'm so sorry. There's just so much going on right now and I don't know what to do with my daughter anymore--"

"MOM!" Sun Hee protests. Of course she doesn't want her mother opening up to someone she dislikes so much.

I gave out a small smile, squeezing her hand back a little. "It's fine, Aunt Sae Hyun," I said. "Maybe things will be easier if I just... walk out for now," I looked around the room, finding an escape or a thing to do. "I... I better look for Rain. He's probably hungry now."

Aunt Sae Hyun looks reluctant but she lets me go. When I passed by Chanyeol, I felt him hold my wrist. "Baby..."

"I'm fine," I mouthed then pointed at Sun Hee when she isn't looking. "She really likes you."

Chanyeol just rolled his eyes. "I'll see you later, love," he whispers.

It took me a few minutes before I finally found Rain at the backyard, running on the grass and basically destroying plants. It's not like it's a big deal but I don't like the idea of Yura-noona having to build a greenhouse just so she could protect her sunflowers from Rain. I sat on the ground, just watching the dog run around for a while until he finally notices me.

When I first showed Rain's pictures to Kim Jongin, he was already sure Rain's a siberian husky. So now, Chanyeol and I are worried as to how much this dog could grow. He would definitely need his own playground soon.

Rain ran to my direction, barking happily and licking my face as he tries to push me to the ground. "You hungry?" I chuckle as I played with him, rubbing his tummy and under his jaw. "Too bad I can't take you to the shop, huh?" I gave him a kiss on the forehead. "I'm going to miss you."

"What about me then?" Park Chanyeol slowly sat beside me on the grass. "You're not gonna miss me?"

I gave him a fake glare. "Oh, you're here," I huffed. "What? Your fangirl left already?"

"Nah," Chanyeol shook his head and took Rain from me. In his hand are a few dog treats and he started teaching Rain some 'sit' and 'roll over' tricks. "Aunt Sae Hyun and her husband are planning to get divorced. Sun Hee suddenly refuses to go to college and Aunt believes it's because of them. She could just talk to her parents, you know? Tell them what she wants or feels. But Sun Hee isn't that kind of person."

"She's a fcking teenager," I sighed. "Teenagers are difficult hormonal human beings."

Chanyeol chuckles at the remark. "Yeah. Kind of."

I gestured to the house. "And so they flew all the way here from Japan because...?"

"To ask for help? Some advice?" Chanyeol shrugged. "I don't really know. But to explain things isn't really the reason I came to find you, baby." He gave the remaining treats to Rain before Chanyeol took my hand, intertwining our fingers. "I'm really sorry about Sun Hee and the way she treats you. She is only sixteen. She grew up alone and I think I'm the only person she could depend on right now."

"Why are you apologizing?" I chuckled. "Yeah, I know, she's a real bitch to me but I don't really care, honey. I'm... kinda used to it."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, I'm used to getting all the hate just because a certain boob-magnet is in love with me," I grinned, throwing him a look. "And dang. He isn't even that handsome."

Chanyeol's eyes went wide, amused and surprised at the same time. "What did you say?" he grabbed my waist. "I dare you to say that again, Byun Baek. " His hold started to turn ticklish and I let out a yelp.

"I'm kidding!" I laughed, pushing him back. "Seriously, Park Chan, stop-- HEY!" Suddenly, I'm being pulled up off the grass and the next thing I knew, I'm already pressed against Park Chanyeol's chest, his face a few inches from mine. Immediately, my face heat up and I frantically looked around for any witnesses. Well, me stradling Chanyeol on the grass isn't really an ideal sight for the maids, don't you think? I held unto his arms, the muscles palpable underneath, and tried pushing myself up but to no avail. "Y-You're--" I swallowed, eyes sheepishly meeting his. "--really s-strong, huh?"

The giant grinned playfully. "You get embarrassed over the simplest things," Chanyeol murmured, his gaze traveling all over my face. "And I don't know why that makes me want to kiss you right now and don't stop."

"Well, you could basically do that," I planted my palms on his cheeks before giving him a soft kiss on the lips. "But honey, you have a meeting in about one and a half hour and I'm supervising the store today. Remember?"

But Park Chanyeol didn't even budge. "I remember," he whispered before he closed his eyes and puckered his lips. "Let's make out."

"What--?!" I slapped his chest. "What the fck are you saying? We're gonna be late!"

"Come on, baby," the jerk just neared his face more. "A minute?"

"NO!" I pushed him away. "Fck no!"

"Okay, okay," Chanyeol sighs, his hold loosening around me. Then he brightens up. "Ten seconds?"

"I'll fcking kill you."

I should have, though.

I should have killed that giant that very moment. Because if I did, I wouldn't be in this situation right now. I wouldn't be sitting across a very angry Sun Hee in one of the coffee shop booths here at C & B, drowning in her hatred. Do Kyungsoo served her a strawberry milkshake a while ago but she still didn't touch it until now.

"It won't kill you," I gestured at the sad whipped cream on top of the shake. "Drink up, Sun Hee."

"I won't and you can't make me!" she hissed like the spoiled brat that she is. "I can't believe Chanyeol-oppa left me here with you. This place is so boring and smells awful," she crossed her arms over her chest stubbornly. "You're like the least person I want to be with right now."

I continued auditing, the calculator buttons hushing my heavy breathings. Smells awful? What? Because the shop smells like coffee? Isn't that how this place is supposed to smell in the first place? God. If I'll just concentrate really hard, I could almost feel her stares throwing daggers on my skin. "Don't worry," I mutter before giving her a quick smile. "He'll be here any minute now, Sun Hee. There's just a few things in the office that need his utmost attention."

"Huh." she raised a brow. "More important than me? I'm his cousin for crying out loud! Where's oppa's secretary? She better be fired right now!"

Well, I'm about to get married to that cousin of yours and you don't hear whining from me, do you?

I puffed air from my cheeks. My god. I can't take sht this long. "You're right. You're his cousin," I nod. "But unfortunately, the world doesn't revolve around one single person, does it?"

Sun Hee narrowed her eyes at me accusingly. "Okay. What did you mean by that?" she hissed. "Are you saying I'm self-centered?!"

I shrugged. "Your words. Not mine." When Sun Hee's about to protest again, I closed the folder I have at hand a little too loud and placed the pen back on the table. I just looked at Sun Hee with a dead smile and expressionless eyes until Kyungsoo took all the stuff away from the table. The girl tried to meet my eyes. But she's just a kid, I get it, so she ended up looking away.

"I'm done with the auditing," I told her. "How about you? What have you accomplished so far?"

"What the hell are you saying?" Sun Hee glares.

I rested my head on a palm and gestured around the place. "Didn't Chanyeol send you here with me so you could help with the shop?" I raised a brow.

The brat slapped her hands on the table and stood up. "I won't let you just order me around, Byun Baekhyun," she sneered. "I'm richer than you, alright? Moreover, I'm related to Chanyeol-oppa more than you. So why would I--"

"I get it, I get it," I waved her off, trying so hard not to roll my eyes in front of her. Why is this teenager such a drama queen? "It's not like I'm going to make you wash dishes or wipe tables like Cinderella, okay? Besides, you don't even sound like Cinderella. She's more... soft-spoken," I teased.

Sun Hee just glared harder. "What's that supposed to mean?!"

"Nothing." I deadpanned. "But Park Chanyeol told me to make use of you so I'm taking the liberty."

"I won't help you with whatever that is, okay?!" Sun Hee cries. "How dare you--"

"Want to help me with my paintings?" I asked casually, just so she could keep herself from cursing more than she needs to. I really don't want to drive her into a cursing rage just after a day of spending time with me.

But with that, Sun Hee practically stopped breathing. She just stared at me for a few seconds, her eyes wide in obvious surprise. Slowly, she dropped back on the couch and she suddenly looks like she's staring at an unknown species. "W-What?" she breathes, still staring at me. "Y-You're... You're a painter?"

"Yeah," I smile, taking my cup of coffee from the table. "I also sculpt and sometimes write plays for theaters. Why? Nobody told you about my job? Or... You didn't bother asking?"

"It's your job?!" Now Sun Hee's eyes are almost shining. Her face has suddenly shifted from that of remorse to excitement. But then I might have looked a little amused because she suddenly caught herself and pulled her face back to that bitchy look. Although this time, it's somewhat forced. "W-What nonsense are you painting anyway?"

I sipped from my cup while thinking. "I paint anything I believe looks too pretty to be left undocumented," I answer with a wink. "I'm frequently invited to some exhibits and I sometimes display my works there. Here," I took my phone, browsed through the pictures, and handed it to her. "These are some of my paintings. But they're sold now, so."

Sun Hee reluctantly took my phone and slowly gazed at the pictures. It's fun watching how her eyes' emotions shifted from one to another as she stares at the pictures. She swiped a few times until she stopped for a few moments at a certain picture. "It's..." she looks shyly at me and I almost panicked because I honestly thought it's a picture of me and Chanyeol probably naked, but then I caught myself. Those kind of pictures are in Chanyeol's camera.

"What is it?"

"It's Chanyeol-oppa," Sun Hee mutters. "You paint him?"

I chuckled at her sudden shyness. "Sometimes," I say. "When I'm not annoyed at him."

"He annoys you?" Sun Hee's eyes are wide. "But-- But he's Chanyeol-oppa. He's--"

"Perfect?" I raised a brow then gave a small, kind smile. "You really look up to him, huh? I won't blame you. He's a good role-model." I slowly pushed the strawberry milkshake towards her. "But he's not perfect. He has his flaws, too. Like... He laughs too loud or his jokes aren't funny at all."

Sun Hee looked down. "You... You guys always look so happy together," she whispers. "Like nothing ever goes wrong between the two of you."

I frown, thinking. "Well that's not really true," I say. "But you know one thing I like about Chanyeol and I? We talk. A lot. We tell each other what we feel about something or how we see things. You know, good communication is so underrated nowadays."

"Well..." Sun Hee averted her gaze and bit her lip nervously like I just said something that hit her. But of course, I know what I'm saying. I'm not a dumbass.

"You like painting, huh?" I smiled kindly. "Seoul National University has a program for that."

Sun Hee's eyes went wide as she looks at me. "H-How did you know?"

I shrugged and slumped back on the couch. "On our way here, you were painting on your iPad at the backseat, right? Your pen strokes. I know their movements," Sun Hee seems undeniably impressed but then I sighed and looked at her more seriously this time. "I know I may be stepping a little over the boundaries here but... You should talk to your parents, Sun Hee. Your mother. She's worried about you."

Sun Hee looks away, panicking slightly before taking the milkshake from the table and drinking almost the half of it in one go. "I know, I know," she mutters when she's finished. "It's just that... now that she and Dad are going to get divorced, they expect me to choose studying business so I could take over their company shares one day. And it's killing me because it isn't what I want!"

"Did you... Talk to them already about what you want?" I asked.

With that, she looked down. "No," she whispers. "Not yet."

"I told you, a good communication is just so underrated," I sighed. "You're giving them and yourself a hard time."

"What if they won't let me?" Sun Hee panics. "W-What if they get mad at me--"

"You're only sixteen," I pointed out. "And you obviously know what you want, which is good. Or if you like to consider your parents, you could do what I did: Study business so I can help Chanyeol run the company and then study arts right after."

Sun Hee almost jumps from her seat. "Woah. That's so cool," she breathes. "You did a lot. I seriously thought you were just some nobody leeching off my cousin."

"What?!" I laughed out loud. "That's just mean! I'm not like that. I'm an independent individual, you hear me? And my paintings make me rich, too, so Chanyeol can just go home and take his money with him," I added with a wink. "And... Is that why you hated me?" I asked more seriously. "You thought I was only using your cousin?"

"Not just that..." Sun Hee looks embarrassed. "I-I... I hated you because..."

I raised my brows in expectation. "Because?"

"Becauseyou'retoopretty," Chanyeol's cousin answers in a rush. But I still caught the words and the confession made me stop in shock. Oh, she's suddenly so adorable. Sun Hee remains on her seat, her cheeks suddenly blushing in pure embarrassment. "It's true," she whispers. "Even your name sounds perfect for you. And you carry yourself confidently like you know you're the most beautiful person in the room. You know what you deserve and you don't seem like the type who settles less than that. You're admirable. And I hated that. I hated that I can't be you."

I stared at her. But nobody in the Park family looks ugly! Sun Hee may be a mean bitch but she's undeniably beautiful. A little overdressed sometimes, but she's fine. "Hey," I said so she could look at me. "I won't tell you things like 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder' or 'beauty may be skin deep' kind of sht, okay? I'm not Google who could basically send you inspirational quotes in your email if you only ask. But I think the more we focus on the things that we aren't, the more we compare ourselves to others, the more hate we give and the less smiles we make, the more the world would become... less pretty for us."

Sun Hee stares at me and for once, I cannot recognize the look in her eyes. Oh shoot. Did I lose her? Did I say some bullsht again?

I tried redeeming myself. "W-What I mean is--"

"You're not mad at me?" she asked sheepishly. "You don't think I was being unfair?"

"The world isn't fair," I gave a small smile. "It never is." But then I thought I am being a little too angsty for some teenage humour so I sat up straight to explain my spontaneous remarks. "What I'm saying is--"

"No. I understand what you were saying," she interrupted me, a smile slowly appearing on her face. "Self-love, huh?" she grinned.

I chuckled and finished my coffee. "Kind of?" I shrugged. "But not too much or you will end up thinking you're the center of the universe or something."

Sun Hee laughs and I think it's the first one I heard from her today.

"You look pretty when you laugh," I smiled at her. "You should be in one of my paintings. Or do you want to paint with me?"

"Really?!" Sun Hee beamed. "Yes, please!"

We are still laughing together when suddenly, Sun Hee's gaze fell behind me. She looks confused for a moment and then in a split second, she's wearing that bitch face again. I turned to look and as if the demons joined forces to annoy me today, there's Lara Sanders, glaring at me like a maniac. As usual.

"Lara," I forced a smile and stood up when she moved to stand before me. "What brought you here today?"

"I don't care about you and your questions. You know that," she rolled her eyes. "Where's Chanyeol?" She looks around like a hawk, as if I would hide my fiance under the tables just to get away from her.

Oh my god. What the fck, Chanyeol? Just what did you do to this girl to make her go crazy about you? I took in a lungful of breath before giving Lara a shrug. "He's at the office," I answer. "But he'll be back soon. Are you willing to wait for him?"

"No need," she huffs. "I'll go there myself. There are things to discuss about the penthouse."

With that, I frowned and moved to stop her. "Wait--" I called. "What about the house?"

Lara looked back at me and glared. "Nothing that concerns you, Byun Baekhyun," she smirked. "We'll discuss it over at lunch. I'll ask him out so don't bother yourself and just continue managing this pathetic business of yours and babysitting that brat, okay?"

Fcking sht? Is she on her period today or something? What's with all the attitude?

I let out another breath and moved to block her way. "Chanyeol and I are having lunch today so you might as well just discuss the matters to me now," I started calmly. "I also want to know what's up."

Lara tried to push me but I grabbed her wrist so hard it made her gasp. "Let go of me--"

"Didn't I tell you, Lara?" I hissed, stepping closer to look at her dead in the eyes. "You shouldn't try me."

Lara flinched and unconsciously stepped back. "Why, huh?" she forced a smirk. "What could you do?"

I'm just so tired with all these drama with Lara. She's a bitch and she will always be one. I'm tired of scaring her and saying things that will only make her cry because to be perfectly honest, it doesn't make me feel good about myself. It doesn't make me a better person whatsoever. Why is she like this, anyway? Why does she keep on entering situations where in she'll only end up in a puddle of her own tears?

So... stupid.

"Fine," I sighed. "I'm tired of you."

Lara smirked. "Good--"

"You're fcking fired, Lara."

"What--" Lara gasped, her eyes wide. "You can't fire me! I'm your realtor! Chanyeol's Dad asked me to--"

"I know. And I'm Chanyeol's fiance and I'm firing you," I deadpanned. "You're fired. Fired."

"You--" Lara pointed a trembling finger to my face. "You're--"

I seriously waited. Anything. Any fcking thing that she could do. But she gave me none and all she did was cry, again, before rushing out of the coffeeshop. She didn't even notice Park Chanyeol on her way out the door because she's busy hiding her face from everyone. I should have pitied her if not for the fact that I hate her guts and her stupidity.

Chanyeol looks confused when he reached me, looking between me and the crying woman. "What was that?" he asked before giving me a quick kiss on the temple. "You okay, baby? Did she hurt you again?"

"I'm fine," I grinned at him. "But you're back early. The meeting went too quick?"

"Yeah," Chanyeol nods, then he gave Sun Hee a quick glance before smiling a little. "You guys painted yet?"

My eyes went wide. "Oh my god, you knew!" I gasped. "You knew she was into painting and you purposely sent her here with me! You fcking planned this." I glared but I can't deny the fact that I'm a little-itsy-bitsy impressed with his train of thought.

Park Chanyeol forced an innocent face. "I don't know what you're saying," he mutters. "But I'm treating you to lunch today, so what do you want, Byun Baek?"

"I want--"

"Baekhyun-oppa!" Sun Hee called and my heart almost swelled. "Aren't we painting yet?" She's still browsing through my paintings in my phone and she looks up just enough to give me a large, excited grin.

Suddenly, Chanyeol's eyes went wide. "Baek!" he hissed and pulled me closer so he could whisper something in my ear. "Oh my god! Isn't your phone filled with--"

I slapped his chest. "They're in your goddamned camera, Park!"
