Chapter 15

"We'll it's nice to meet you Sting."

"It's nice to meet you too, Lucy."

I heard footsteps coming this way. One of the voices sounded a lot like Natsu.

"How would you like to go out with me later this week? Maybe grab something to eat?"

"Umm, I don't know."

"Well when you decide..." he held my hand putting something in it while he got closer to my ear, "call me." His voice sent chills down my spine and made my breathing hitch.

His voice was husky, smooth, and had a bit of an accent.

Australian? British?

But either way it took alot of me not to pull him closer to me. I just met this guy and he's making me feel things I've never felt before.

He let go of my hand, "I'll see you soon Lucy." He walked toward the exit of the gallery.

Wow, is all I can say about him.

"Oh hey Lucy." Natsu said walking away from his group. He noticed me staring at Sting, "do you know him?"

I left my train of thought and turned to him, "no not really, we were just talking about this painting."

"Oh, well now that I'm here let's see the rest of the gallery." He said, reaching to grab my hand.

I stepped back, "I think I need to get home. It's getting pretty late and my mom is probably getting worried."

I'm such a liar.

"Oh, ok. Just wait for me by the entrance." He said, looking a bit disappointed.

I know what you're thinking. Yes I'm an asshole, but! He did abandon me tonight and I really didn't appreciate it. How are you going to beg someone to come somewhere, that you didnt even wanna go to in the first place, and then blow them off for some other people and leave you by yourself!

I'm starting to get an headache from all this. But, at least one good thing happened tonight.

I held up the card he gave to me, "Sting Eucliffe."

"Did you enjoy the gallery?" Natsu said, buckling his seat belt.

"Yeah it was nice." I wasn't really paying attention to him. All I could think about was going home and taking off this dress.

"Hello? Earth to Lucy."

"Oh, I'm sorry. What was the question."

"I asked if you wanted something to eat before we go home."

"No thanks." I continued staring out the window.

"Is everything OK? I'm really sorry that I left you, but I really needed to talk to-"

"It's fine Natsu. I understand."

"Then why are you acting so strange? Usually you'll be going on about something, but tonight, you've been really quiet."

"I'm just tired that's all. It's been a long day."

"Why won't you admit you're just mad at me?"

"I'm not mad, I'm just tired."

"Come on Lucy, we promised not to lie to each other."

"I'm not lying, I'm fine."

"When a woman says she's fine it usually means she's pissed."

"Ok Natsu, you wanna know how I really feel? How could you just go off with your little buddies and leave me by myself not knowing what the hell was going on! You know I don't understand art like you. So yes. To answer your question, I am pissed."

"There's my Lucy." he chuckled.

"Don't play with me Natsu."

"Look I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you, I promise." He held out his pinky finger, waiting for me, "come on, I know you want to wrap your pink finger around mine and forgive me."

"I'm not in the mood Natsu."

"I'm know you want too though."

I kept my head turned away from him looking out the window.

"I guess I have to bring him out huh?"

I stiffened, "dont you dare!"

"Here he comes..."

"Natsu stop, I'm not playing."

"He's almost here..."

"Please Natsu stop." I tried a scooting as close as I could to the door.

"Here comes... the tickle monster."

"No! Ahaha!" He started tickling me causing me go into a fit of laughter and releasing my horrendous laugh. He knows I hate being tickled!

"Stop! Ahaha! Natsu ok, ok! I promise!"

"That's what I like to hear." I wrapped my pinky finger around his, "Promise?" He said.

"Promise." I smiled.

"I'll talk to you later Luce!" He yelled from across the street.

"Goodnight, Natsu."

I walked in my house to find my mom talking on the phone.

"Oh stop it! It wasn't that big of a deal." She giggled.

Her smile. I'm happy to see her smile again.

I closed the door letting her know I was in the room.

"Oh I'll talk to you later, my daughter's home."

"Goodnight." She smiled, hanging up the phone, "how was your thing tonight?" She asked me, going back to the tv screen.

"We can talk about my thing later, who was that?" I smirked, leaning on the door.

"It was just a friend from work."

"Didn't seem like a friend if you ask me."

"I'm with your father Lucy, you know that."

"We both know that's not true."

"It's that bad, isn't it?" She chuckled.

I nodded my head, "so tell me about this guy. What's his name?"

She smiled, "Jude."
