40. Flashback
Ayo, so we're like five chapters away from the ending.
Btw, I don't know why that picture is so funny to me.
Jimin was scrolling down his phone as he waited for Namjoon and Hoseok on a bench, next to the café they agreed to meet after Jimin messaged them and asked to reunite. The reason for the meeting was part of the great idea he had last night when he was on Yoongi's bed, talking about his birthday.
Namjoon appeared first, and, even though they didn't know each other, Jimin knew it was him because he had seen his Facebook profile picture when he stalked him last night. But he seemed taller in person.
"Namjoon?" Jimin asked as he stood up from the bench.
"Oh? Hi. Jimin?" Namjoon asked and smiled. His smile was warm.
He has some cute dimples, Jimin thought.
"Yes, I'm Jimin, nice to meet you." Jimin extended his hand and Namjoon shook it.
"Nice to meet you too." In all honestly, Namjoon was surprised because Jimin was as cute as Yoongi said. In fact, he was really beautiful.
At that exact moment, Hoseok appeared and greeted Jimin with his usual bright smile. Then he noticed Namjoon.
"Hi, I'm Hoseok."
"Namjoon."
"Should we go in?" Namjoon asked and they agreed.
When they were finally sitting down, drinking coffee, Jimin cleared his throat.
"I know this might be a little awkward and sudden." He said, looking at Namjoon. "But I'm really glad you agreed to meet."
"No problem. For a moment I thought something was wrong with Yoongi and that's why you called me, but I see now that everything's fine, right?"
"Well, yeas and no." Jimin tried to explain. "See, I wanted to meet with you because Yoongi's birthday is coming and you both are his friends." He bit his lips. "I don't mean to sound pitiful, but I think we're the only friends he has."
Hoseok scoffed. "So now you're friends with the idiot that hurt you so much?"
Jimin felt bad at that. "I-I already forgave him and so should you. He's nice to me and we're friends now."
Hoseok just rolled his eyes. "I kind of already forgave him since you told me you both are kind of dating, but still, I'm a little upset."
"You're dating?" Namjoon asked surprised. It had been so long since he talked to Yoongi since that sort of fight they had. Namjoon talked to him only when necessary at work.
"Not really, but we're good." Jimin shrugged, trying to act cool but failing.
"I can't believe Yoongi and I fought over you and now you're dating him." Namjoon shook his head.
"That's why you guys fought?" Jimin's eyes widened.
"Well, not really. He was confused because of you and then I suggested something and he got mad at me and said some really mean things." Namjoon shrugged. "But, as your friend said, I kind of already forgave him. I know Yoongi can be a dick sometimes."
"He is a dick." Hoseok agreed.
"But that's not the point! I actually wanted you to, you know, make up." Jimin waited for a reaction, and he could see both of them frowning. "His birthday is coming, and he is a bit sad because he never celebrates it, but this time he believes he won't have any of you by his side."
"He deserves it." Hoseok sipped on his cup.
"Yeah, he does."
"But, come on," Jimin whined. "this is going to be spending with him. I want him to be happy."
Even though Hoseok and Namjoon didn't know each other, they shared a look. They both knew about Jimin's tragic love story with Yoongi. They couldn't help feeling bad for him.
Namjoon sighed. "Alright. I'm in."
"Yeah, me too." Hoseok gave up. "Do you have something planned?"
Jimin beamed "Yes, since we're social misfits, it will be just the four of us, maybe I can buy some things to eat, so we can gather at our place."
Our place. It was the first time he realized he felt part of it, part of Yoongi and their home. It felt so natural to say it.
"Sounds good." Namjoon nodded. "Yoongi likes simple things."
"Yeah, he's not a person who liked to draw attention to him. He'll like that." Hoseok added.
"By the way, how do you know Yoongi?" Namjoon asked Hoseok and that's how they spent the whole afternoon chatting about his experiences with Yoongi and how they had met him. They realized they shared their passion for music, something Yoongi did too and, perhaps, that's the reason why they were Yoongi's closest and dearest friends.
Namjoon and Hoseok got along too well. Jimin was happy when he watched them interacting and felt even happier because he was included too. He was being part of something.

Jimin was writing down an essay in the living room when Yoongi entered their house and loosened his tie, something that still caught Jimin's attention.
"Stop giving me your bedroom eyes every time I loosen my tie." Yoongi said as he took off his suit jacket and unbuttoned a few buttons of his dress shirt.
Jimin felt his ears getting hot and tried to keep his eyes on his laptop screen. "I don't... I don't give-"
"Yes, you do." Yoongi finally sat down on the couch, right next to him. "But I don't mind." Yoongi leaned close to Jimin's laptop. "Is that the essay you told me about a few nights ago?"
"Yes, I'm finally finishing it." Jimin huffed.
"That's good because there's something I want to tell you." Yoongi said, nonchalantly.
Of course that piqued Jimin's interest. "What is it?"
"Oh, nothing. Just finish your essay."
"Yoongi."
"Finish it, we'll talk later."
Jimin closed his laptop and put it on the coffee table, turning around to face Yoongi as they remained in a sitting position.
"Curiosity killed the cat." Yoongi chuckled.
"I'm not a cat, you are." Jimin scoffed. "Now, tell me."
Yoongi finally met his eyes in a serious expression. "I just wanted to say thank you."
"You're kidding, right?" Jimin narrowed his eyes.
"No, for real, that's what I wanted to say." Yoongi looked a little embarrassed, making clear that this was a little hard for him, so Jimin's eyes softened.
"Why?"
"Today, magically, Hoseok called me to make up for all the things we went through because of me and Namjoon finally spoke to me at work." Yoongi looked at the blond, expectantly.
"So..."
"Don't pretend you don't know. It was because of you and I-I, I mean, I'm thankful." Yoongi's cheeks tinted a pale pink as he said that. "It's not something I'm used to, but I really want to thank you for that and also because, since you came to my life, it seems brighter."
Jimin's face broke into a smile and he jumped against his hyung to hug him, pushing Yoongi against the couch.
"If that's your reaction to me being thankful, then I should thank you more often.
"Shut up." Jimin smiled and leaned down to be on top of Yoongi's body. He hugged him and Yoongi happily wrapped his arms around the younger.
He felt an itch in his throat. He wanted to say something, but he didn't know what. Well, no. He knew what he wanted to say, but the words were there in his throat, afraid to be said. Just three words. But he couldn't, instead, he pressed Jimin harder against him, hoping Jimin could feel what Yoongi wanted to say through the hug.

A few weeks passed and Jimin and Yoongi decided to go grocery shopping because they were running out of food and because Jimin wanted to buy some things to prepare for Yoongi's birthday.
When they arrived, Yoongi went to one aisle and Jimin to another. Jimin was looking at the price of some vegetables when he was interrupted by a phone call. The screen showed the word mom and Jimin couldn't help debating whether to answer or not. They hadn't talked since that time when his parents left the house.
Finally, Jimin answered and his mom's relieved voice made him feel a bit guilty. She was speaking so lovingly to him, as she always did. Never mentioning his father because she didn't want to ruin it. They talked about home, university, homework, and a little bit of everything.
"I hope you're eating well too."
"Yes, actually, I'm buying some vegetables right now." Jimin admitted. "By the way, you might get notified about me spending more money than normal."
"And why is that, honey?"
"I'm buying a few things right now for a birthday."
"Oh, whose birthday?" She asked curiously because she knew Jimin didn't have too many friends since... well, since that happened.
"Yoongi's. It's on the ninth so, you can see, I'm running out of time. I just have three days left to prepare everything even though it will be a really small gathering."
Jimin's mom hummed. "Don't you think you're too fond of your roommate?" She finally asked.
"What do you mean?" Jimin frowned.
She sighed. "Isn't that the Yoongi you told me about when you were younger?"
Jimin froze on his spot.
"I-" Jimin didn't want to respond to that. "I need to go, I have to pay. Bye, mom." He hung up, feeling something weird in his heart.
He searched for Yoongi and finally found him in one of the aisles. Yoongi smiled when he saw the blond one approaching him, but then he noticed something was off in Jimin's expression.
"Jiminie, what's wrong?"
"Nothing." Jimin lied, but he wasn't convincing. "I'm fine."
They finally went to pay for all the things they bought and carried the bags to Yoongi's car. When Jimin sat on the passenger seat, Yoongi was already on the driver's seat, but he didn't start the car.
"Jimin, what's wrong?" He asked again. More serious this time. "Don't even try to lie to me. Just tell me what's bothering you, so we can solve it."
Jimin let out a long sigh and explained to him what happened in the phone call.
"So, I get that she knew about me already." Yoongi shook his head about the obvious bad impression Jimin's mom had about him. "And what has you so mad is..." Yoongi pushed.
"I didn't tell you," Jimin bit his lip. "but the day you told me all those mean things, I cried in my room for hours until my mom forced my door open and, I wasn't planning on telling her, but I was just so broken and vulnerable that I told her everything. I confessed to her that I liked a boy and how he rejected me and... you know, everything." Jimin looked at his fingers, that day still haunted him. "But that's not the only bad thing that happened that day..." Jimin's eyes got teary and Yoongi felt his heart breaking.
"W-What else happened?" Yoongi asked, a little scared to know.
"Do you remember I told you I was my dad's pride and then suddenly he started treating me like trash? Well, it all started that day too." Jimin felt hurt just at remembering that. "While I was crying with my mom, we didn't know he was right on the other side of my door and my mom couldn't help asking in shock if I was gay. Of course I said yes because I knew my mom would never hurt me." A few tears rolled down his eyes now. "But he did. When he heard that, he got so mad. I had never seen him like that. He said... he said a lot of things that I don't want to say out loud and then beat me up."
Jimin wiped his tears away, still not looking at Yoongi. "I really hate remembering that day. All the shit that happened just because I wanted your attention. That day I was more insulted than any other day and by two people I loved."
Yoongi stayed in silence for a while. He didn't know what to say. He was so angry at himself for ruining this boy's life. He hurt him so bad, that it still had effects on him nowadays, even though he was getting better.
"What I did to you brought you more trouble than I could ever imagine. I'm such a piece of shit." Yoongi finally spoke. He shook his head and rubbed his temples.
"Hey, it's in the past." Jimin sighed. "I didn't tell you this to make you feel bad or guilty. I just needed to let it out."
"Jimin, why do you like me?" Yoongi asked seriously. He couldn't understand it. He was the worst to him and yet he still liked Yoongi.
Jimin shrugged. "I don't know. I liked you a lot and I still do when I should hate you." Jimin finally looked at him. "But I don't. I would hate you now if you hadn't changed, but you did. You changed because you wanted to be a better person and, maybe I'm just stupid, but I couldn't help falling again."
Yoongi didn't deserve him. He knew it.
"I will always be sorry for what I did to you, Jimin. Even if you already forgave me, I don't think I can forgive myself. The things I called you and everything I said caused permanent damage, especially because your dad found out you were gay because of me. If I hadn't hurt you..."
"Hey, it's ok now." Jimin tried to smile. He was happy with Yoongi now, but it didn't mean he could permanently erase all the bad memories from his head. He wished he could though.
"You know I like you a lot, right, Jiminie?" Yoongi asked, his fingers reaching for Jimin's to hold his hand.
"I-I think so." Jimin stuttered.
"In case you feel insecure some time, let me assure you that I like you a lot, Jimin." Yoongi wanted to say the words. He really did, but they wouldn't come out. Instead, he opted for joking to ease the tension in the air. "I don't know what you did to me to get me to like dick.
Jimin laughed and he actually felt assured, then he joked about it too. "You don't really like dick. I do." Jimin giggled. "You had never tried it."
"I've had it in my mouth." Yoongi argued back.
"Yes, but maybe you need to have it up your ass to see how much you can like it." Jimin joked and Yoongi's eyes widened.
"What?!"
"I'm just kidding. Don't get scared, Yoongi. I don't want you to have another existential crisis over dicks." Jimin giggled and Yoongi felt relieved.
He had just learned to deal with his new gay experience with Jimin. Of course he was not ready to have a dick up his ass. So, instead of replying, he started the car and they drove off laughing at Yoongi's scared expression.
Thank you so so so much for 7.7 K reads (it looks cute because it's 7.7) and 811 votes. I honestly always thought no one would read this mess. I remember when I got one read that wasn't from my friend and I freaked out lmao. I even went to tell my mom "Mom, someone read my book!" And today I have all this and I'm getting emotional, so yeah. Bye.
