21. Read for me

From chapter 1 to 20 the story is more focused on Jimin, but starting from this one it will be a little more focused on Yoongi and his thoughts. Of course, I am still going to explain Jimin's feelings and thoughts because this story doesn't have a specific pov, but yeah.

"Shit!" Jimin screamed out of frustration, grabbing his hair as he looked horrified at his laptop that was on his bed. In a matter of seconds, Yoongi was already in Jimin's room with his fists ready to fight. He got scared when he heard him screaming because Jimin barely makes noises and he has never heard him swear. Well, except for that one time-

"What's wrong?!" Yoongi asked, eyes examining Jimin's room, looking for a threat, but there was nothing, just Jimin with a sour expression.

"I-I, sorry. I didn't mean to s-scream. I-" He mumbled a little awkward. Yoongi visibly relaxed when he realized he wasn't in danger. He went to sit on Jimin's bed beside him. They had watched a few movies on Jimin's bedroom last week, so they weren't uncomfortable anymore. Now that Jimin thinks about it, they had been chilling in his room, but he hadn't entered Yoongi's room yet.

"What happened?" Yoongi asked, concerned.

Jimin sighed and just showed him his laptop screen. "This." He just said. Yoongi was expecting the worse when Jimin showed him the screen. Maybe someone leaked his nudes or someone is threatening to do so, Yoongi dismissed the thought right after thinking it. To his surprise, the screen just showed a letter.

"Looks like an official letter." Yoongi muttered as he squinted his eyes to read.

"Read it."

"I'm doing it, but I didn't bring my glasses." He kept squinting his eyes.

"God, you're so old." Jimin smiled and Yoongi just scoffed.

"I just can't see. It has nothing to do with my age, brat." Yoongi almost regretted saying it because he didn't know if they already were on that phase where they can joke with each other. But after some seconds, Jimin just laughed, and Yoongi calmed.

Yoongi finished reading the letter and he frowned, still not getting what was the big deal.

"Yeah..." Yoongi said.

"You don't get it, right?"

"Sorry, I don't." Yoongi bit his lower lip. "I think it's something good, actually. They chose your essay among all the essays in your university."

"Yeah." Jimin sighed. "And now I have to lecture a group of another university."

"That's cool."

"Yoongi, I have to lecture a group." Jimin deadpanned, and Yoongi tried not to pay attention to how disappointed he felt when Jimin didn't call him hyung, but he asked for it. "I, Park Jimin, have to speak in a room full of people for an hour or more."

And then Yoongi understood. Jimin couldn't do it. Jimin barely could speak with people in a normal conversation, let alone lecture a group of university students. Jimin slowly nodded when he saw Yoongi's realization expression.

"But you can-" Yoongi tried, leaning against the headboard.

"No, Yoongi. I can't." The blond sighed. "The reason why I have such good grades is because I'm really good when I write, but when I have to s-speak I-I." He groaned, burying his head on the pillow.

"I'll help you."

Jimin opened one eye to see if Yoongi was serious. "Really? How?"

"I earn money by lecturing people every single day, I think I can help." Yoongi lightly shook Jimin's shoulder when the other didn't answer. "Come on. You can't let an opportunity like this go."

"Actually, I can. And I think I will, I just have to say no." Jimin buried his face on the pillow again. "For sure my grades will drop, but I can make and extra effort so I can-"

"Stop rambling. I'm helping you and there's no way you're saying no. So get up." Yoongi stood up. His serious face made Jimin finally stand up too.

"Umm, but what are we going to do?" Jimin asked when the elder started walking out of his room.

"Come to my room." Yoongi opened his bedroom door and Jimin hesitated. "Come on, I have to show you something." Yoongi gave him a reassuring smile, so Jimin finally entered. Yoongi closed the door behind Jimin and saw how the blond examined his room with caution. Yoongi didn't know why he started to feel nervous, but he shrugged off the feeling instantly.

"It's a little... dark." Jimin muttered. "If you compare it to my room, of course." Jimin smiled.

"Yeah, most of this house was dark before you came. Now you open the windows and curtains and I can see it looks better with light." Yoongi admitted, feeling a bit weird after saying it out loud.

"You should do the same with your room."

"Yeah, no. I'm here just when I'm about to sleep, so it's not really necessary." Yoongi flashed a small smile. "I don't spend too much time in my room, just when I sleep or..." He stopped, feeling nervous again, but Jimin just offered him a big smile.

"Or when you bring a girl." Jimin finished. "I know." Yoongi wanted to deny that, but he couldn't.

"Umm," Yoongi whispered. "Come here." He started walking again.

Jimin realized that his bedroom was even bigger than his, and it had two doors instead of one. He supposed one could be a walking closet, but it was unlikely since he spotted a closet at his left side. Maybe it's a bathroom, Jimin thought, but he dismissed it because Yoongi always showered in the bathroom that they shared. Yoongi opened one of the doors and Jimin gasped.

"This is my studio." He said, gesturing Jimin to come in before him. He closed the door.

The studio was a big -and also dark- room with a fancy desk in the middle of it and a comfy couch close to the desk, almost every single wall was covered by a big wooden shelf with many books. It looked as if it couldn't save a single more book. On the other side there was a piano, close to it, there was another desk with devicesto make music.

"Have you read all of them?" Jimin couldn't help asking in awe.

"No, I think I have like thirty I haven't read." Yoongi admitted.

"T-thirty? From all of these?" Jimin was surprised.

"C-can I..?" Jimin stopped before asking.

"Can you what?" Yoongi turned to see him, hands on his pockets.

"Uh, nothing." Jimin whispered. Yoongi furrowed his eyebrows and walked very, very slowly towards Jimin.

"You have to learn to speak up." Yoongi said in a low voice. "Talk to me. Tell me anything you want."

Jimin gulped down because he already felt that think in his mouth that made his tongue get stuck every time he spoke.

"C-can I... can I borrow o-one?" Jimin let out. He hated when he stuttered, but he was used to it happening every time he tried to ask something he wanted or give his opinion.

Yoongi smiled. "See? That's progression." Yoongi smiled. "Of course you can borrow anyone you'd like. If you want you can come here when I'm at work and you want to read something. I wouldn't mind." He said truthfully.

"That's progression too." Jimin whispered, they both felt that it was real, Yoongi wasn't faking it just to amend all his errors.

"I know."

"So... what are we exactly going to?"

"Oh, yeah." Yoongi reached a book on one of the shelves. He flipped the first pages and hummed. "You're going to read for me."

"W-what?"

"Every afternoon or when I come from work you're going to read for me. Out loud, of course. It'll help you to speak clearly and stop your stuttering. Also to feel comfortable while speaking. Then, after you finish a chapter, you're going to give me a spoken abstract of what you read."

"W-what?" Jimin scoffed. "Sounds like homework to me."

"Well, I'm a teacher after all."

"Yeah, but not mine."

"Well, now I will be. Bear with it." Yoongi gave him a gummy smile, but Jimin kept his frown. "Don't act like this. I'm doing it to help you." Yoongi's smile dropped. "I want to help you for what I did to you. It is my fault after all."

Jimin's frown disappeared at hearing that. "Yoongi, I already forgave you. Stop thinking about this all the time." His voice was so sweet and soft that Yoongi felt moved by it, and by the kindness those words hid.

"Thank you." Yoongi whispered. "I still want you to let me help you, though."

Jimin sighed, but then nodded. "Alright. I'll do it."

"Great! Let's start." Yoongi smiled.

"R-right now?" Jimin grew nervous.

"Yes."

"B-but I-" Before the younger could say another word, his phone started ringing, scaring the both of them for the sudden noise. "Excuse me." He said, before answering it. Yoongi couldn't help hearing his conversation as he checked some books on the shelves to see which ones were suitable for Jimin to read. "I'm sorry. I'll be there in a second." Jimin said and Yoongi furrowed his eyebrows.

"What's wrong?" Yoongi asked, his back still facing Jimin, so the other couldn't see his frown.

"I have to go to the gym with Jungkook and I forgot. He's been there knocking the door and ringing the doorbell, but I couldn't hear anything." Jimin explained while checking the time on his phone. Yoongi felt upset for some reason.

"Yeah, this room is soundproof. I don't like being bothered when I'm working or reading here." Yoongi explained, and Jimin noticed the sharp tone he used, nothing like the one he was using before.

"Umm, t-that's cool." Jimin felt awkward for the sudden change.

"So you're leaving? We were about to start." Yoongi finally turned to see him.

"How about we do this every night? You know Jungkook and I go out every day at this hour."

"Yeah, I know." Yoongi answered dryly. Of course, he knew it. He had seen Jimin and Jungkook go out every day and come back until night. "Can you close the doors after you leave?"

Jimin nodded and rushed out of the room. Yoongi tried really hard not to follow him, but his feet failed him and he found himself going to the living room just to find Jimin opening the door for Jungkook and giving him a bright smile. A very bright one that made Yoongi almost roll his eyes.

"Hey, hyung." Jungkook smiled at Jimin, showing his bunny teeth, both of them looking at each other like teenagers. This time Yoongi did roll his eyes. He had been watching them getting closer day by day and he's not enjoying it too much. He convinced himself that he was feeling upset because he feels so old watching the youngers flirting like that. It was awkward to watch Jimin flirting in general, especially with someone who wasn't Yoongi himself.

"Hi, Kookie." Jimin's eyes turned into small crescents and Yoongi just couldn't take the view any longer.

"Hi to you too." Yoongi said out loud, startling the other two.

"Oh, hi. Good afternoon, Sir." Jungkook said politely and bowing. It was so strange for Jungkook to come to his professor's house.

"Wait here, I'll bring my stuff in a minute." Jimin smiled at Jungkook and rushed to his room, leaving Yoongi and Jungkook staring at each other.

"Wanna drink something?" Yoongi asked, as he went to serve a cup of wine for himself and gestured Jungkook to come closer.

"Umm. No, thanks. I'm fine. Sir." Jungkook answered.

"Stop calling me that here. It sounds like I'm old." Yoongi took a sip from his cup and glanced his student at the other side of the counter. "Just Yoongi is fine."

"Oh, no. You're not old." Jungkook scratched the back of his neck with an awkward smile. "I was just being respectful, sir." Yoongi looked at him with a serious gaze and Jungkook gulped down. "Yoongi." Jungkook corrected himself.

"So, are you sure you don't want anything to drink?"

"I'm fine. I don't drink." Jungkook admitted and Yoongi raised an eyebrow thinking how much of a bad match Jungkook and Jimin could be because Jimin loved wine as much as Yoongi.

"I have water." Yoongi shrugged.

"Thank you, but I think I-I'm fine." Jungkook was obviously staring at Yoongi with big doe eyes, and for a moment Yoongi thought it could be because Jungkook was surprised that he was drinking in front of his student, but he just shrugged it off."

"I'm ready." Jimin said with a sing-song voice, grabbing Jungkook's arm to leave the house. It didn't go unnoticed by Yoongi, who just chugged his wine in one gulp.

"Wait!" Yoongi called. "Can you give me your number?" Yoongi wanted to face-palm himself after watching the reaction of the other two. "I mean, after that night when the power went out I realized I don't have your number in case of an emergency."

"Y-yes, sure." Jimin wrote down his number and gave it to Yoongi.

"Don't come back too late." Goddamnit! Why did I just say that?

"Bye, Yoongi." Jimin waved goodbye and grabbed Jungkook's strong arm again. "I'll come back on time for our reading session." Jimin smiled, and Yoongi realized how Jimin's mood changed so drastically when Jungkook was around.
