Proluge
A little girl, who could be no more than five, raises her arms above her head while trying to stand on the tips of her toes. With her toes firmly on the ground, she spun around. Next, she circled her arms in front of her. Her feet were now flat on the ground, with her heels touching together. She slowly bend down her knees and rose back up. She then brings up one arm above her head and the other arm out in front of her. The enchanting music of Tchaikovsky begins to fade and stop.
The little girl smiled. "I did it! I did it! Mommy will be so happy."
The woman she looked up at smiled, "Of course she will be. You one of the best dancers in the class."
The little girl smiled, with her chest pressed up high. She was going to make her mommy proud. Her mommy will video her dance and show it to everyone, saying that she was the best dancer in the class.
The dance teacher unfolded several chairs in the classroom, for the audience to watch the dancers. The little girl goes up to the teacher, her hair ribbon falls off as runs.
"Careful," the teacher scolded, "no running inside, only walking feet."
The little girl nodded then said, "Can my mommy sit here in front to see me the best?"
"We will see about that," the teacher replied, gently tying the ribbon back in the little girl's hair.
Her mommy should be her in about any minute. The little girl looked into the big ballet mirror. She straightened her tutu and giggled. Her mommy will love her dance that she made up all by herself.
She looked up and saw a lot of people gathering to the door, with big smiles on their faces, excited to watch their children dance for them.
The little girl looked for her mommy in the crowd of people. She wasn't amongst them. Maybe she was in traffic and was going to be late. All the parents took their seats. All of them waved at their own child, while recording this sweet moment.
The little girl was to dance first. But her mommy wasn't there yet. She couldn't let her mommy miss it, she would be so sad.
"Teacher," the little girl whined, "I can't go first, mommy isn't here."
"You can go once your mom comes. But can you say that nicely?" The teacher prodded gently.
"Can I go later?"
"Yes, you may go later."
The little girl sat there watching her classmates dances and the door. As each kid finished their special dance, the more worried she became. Her mommy was never late. She wanted her mommy to be there when she dances. When it was almost her turn, she saw her daddy and big brother. Her whole family was going to watch! She stood up and waved at the through the glass door. When she saw their faces, she sunk back to the floor.
The dad came in with her brother following behind but no mommy followed. The little girl was confused. She looked up and saw her teacher and dad talking. The teacher bowed her head and gently squeezed his shoulder.
When she saw her dad up close, he looked sad. So so sad. He scooped her up in his arms and whispered in her ear.
"Mommy got hurt really badly. We are going to the hospital."
The little girl held onto her dad tightly. But little did she know that it would be the last time her dad would hold and hug her.
