Six Has A Different Meaning Now

"Talk"

'Thought'
_____________
"So how was your first day?"

Six could be seen standing on the private runway at the Providence Headquarters. Rex and Penny Polendina could be seen exiting an aircraft.

"Miss was a success Father!~"

Penny quickly ran up to the agent with a very bright and cheerful smile on her face, though what she said didn't make him feel as happy.

"F-Father?!"

Rex was now completely confused and shocked by what he had just heard, practically left speechless.

"Hmm, good, now go to Holiday for a quick check up."

Six tried his best to ignore what he had heard and continued speaking to Polendina in a neutral, professional manner.

"You mean Mother?"

"WHAT?!"

Rex was just getting more confused and shocked by Penny's interesting choice of words. Not only that, but she said it in a way as if it was natural and she had always used those terms before.

"... Yes."

Six sighs, even though he tried to act as if he wasn't bothered by this, it was clear that he wasn't used to it either.

"Roger that Father, see you in a later date Sir Rex~"

And with that, Penny left the two alone and began walking back inside the HQ of Providence. She had a cute bounce to her steps as she headed toward the entrance, no doubt excited to meet up with the person named Holiday, aka her so-called "mother." The two watched her walk in and close the door behind her. There were a few moments of silence between them.

"MIND EXPLAINING THIS SUDDEN TRUTH BOMB TO ME?!"

Rex could no longer keep quiet and immediately wanted to know what was going on. His lack of understanding of the situation was already making his head hurt from pure confusion.

"She suffers from brain damage."

Six did not hesitate to tell the human Evo what was going on, and she said it in such a blunt tone that it quickly snapped the questioner out of his confusion.

"H-Huh?"

Rex honestly didn't know how to respond to that.

"When you used your 'Nanites' on the girl, you did more than save her life, you absolutely changed it."

Six explained further in more detail about the situation, though it was hard to tell if what he was saying was good or bad, especially from how neutral his tone was.

"In what way?..."

Rex couldn't help but worry, feeling as if he had messed up again and accidentally done something bad to the person he was trying to save.

"When the Doctor gave Penny a check up, she found out that your attempts in healing her actually turned a once robotic android into something more human like."

This surprised the machine teen from what he had heard from Six. Especially the part where he mentioned turning Penny more 'human-like'.

"Wait, she was a robot?"

The information about Polendina being a robot was very surprising and shocking to Rex. Though it made sense to him when he thought about it, especially considering how easily he had been able to heal her.

"She used to be a robot, again thanks to you, Holiday theorized that after sharing your Nanites, they underwent a similar phenomenon to those that turn humans into EVO, however instead of creating a mutated monster, she instead gained human biology."

Six's words continued to fascinate and interest the robot boy, who began to look at his hands with newfound amazement.

"Woah..."

Rex started wondering and thinking about the possibilities of what he could do, not only for himself, but also for others.

"Though despite seemingly gaining humanity, she is still suffering some of the side effects of becoming an EVO."

The human EVO couldn't help but be reminded by Six that even though he had done something, it wasn't something he should be proud of or even boast about.

"... What kind of side effects?"

Rex frowned lightly, putting his hands down and looked at the agent with a serious yet concerned expression.

"As I mentioned before, she has brain damage, due to having her new humanoid brain infused and mashed together with her mechanical one, luckily it's not crippling her, though..."

Six frowned deeply and hummed to himself.

"Is that the reason why she calls you her Dad?"

Rex had just remembered what Penny had called the man, and he couldn't help but realize how funny it actually was.

"Yes, apparently the damage caused her to have a unique case of amnesia, though unlike you forgetting everything, she is instead having bits and pieces of her memory be replaced with the first thing she sees, resulting in her mistakenly seeing me and the Doctor as her parents."

Six explained why Polendina would even claim him as her own father, despite how untrue it was.

"Huh, I don't know if that is cute, funny or just sad?..."

Rex still chuckled at the thought of seeing the Agent as a dad, though at the same time, he did realize that this subject wasn't something to joke about and decided not to bring it up any further.

"Not only that, but she might also be emotionally sensitive and unstable, at least according to Holiday, though for now it's not an issue at the moment, but it is something that you should know."

Six crossed his arms and spoke to the machine teen with a commanding tone. The teen sighed in response but didn't reject what Six had said.

"Right, right, I'll keep these things in mind."

Rex rubbed his chin and started to think deeply about all the information he had just been given. He took it all into consideration and tried to think of a way to handle the situation he had been put in.

"I hope you do, Rex, since now it is your responsibility to look after her, especially during missions, so please take this seriously."

Six glared at him, who just looked back with an arrogant and overconfident smirk.

"Please, do I look like the type of person to not take this seriously?~"

Rex chuckled as he returned to his old attitude of wanting to have fun and wreak some havoc, which wasn't filling the Agent with a lot of hope.

"Hm..."

However, Six didn't say anything about it and simply turned around and started heading back to the HQ of Providence, with the robot boy quickly following after.

"Oh, by the way, how does Penny see me? You said she sees you and Holiday as her Mom and Dad, would that make me her brother or something?"

Rex was genuinely curious; the idea of having Penny look up to him like an older brother was definitely an interesting and nice thought to have, but he did dislike the idea of having to think of Six as his new dad...though Dr. Holiday was definitely something else.

"We only told Penny that she would be your new partner, though we don't know how she sees it, so you better ask her yourself."

All Six had to say to Rex made him pause in his walk and gave him a moment to think deeply about what he said, now realizing the implications and how it could affect his relationship with his new partner, for better or worse.

"Hm..."
_______________
I only included the "Brain Damage" and "Body Changes" to make things easier for myself, both in having Penny accept her new home and life without struggle, and to give her some fun human quirks and problems, like understanding the concept of sleeping and eating~

(BTW, how do you want Penny to see Rex as? Would it be something family related like Six and Holiday? Or something more unique?~)

/How Penny Sees Rex\

Brother: Something fluff, simple, nothing too complicated.

Friends: I mean, it will probably end in romance, but baby steps I guess.

Boyfriend: Instant romance, Penny just seems like the type of person to assume that you're her boyfriend without even asking or you realizing it.
