𝗜𝗧 𝗪𝗔𝗦 𝗥𝗔𝗥𝗘 times when Phoebe would call on Olivia for help. Usually, Olivia was used to the girl ─ or Max, coming up with a silly plan, probably a costume or two, and the plan would go every which way but somehow they would get out of it barely unscathed. So, when Phoebe texted Olivia capital SOS the girl couldn't help but run over.
Capital SOS was reserved for dire situations. A lowercase sos was more for things in the realm of fashion emergency or Cherry had gotten her hand stuck in her bookbag again.
That's what had Olivia running through the Thunderman's side door. However, her running came to a complete halt when she saw Billy and Nora sitting on the couch and Max pointing at some badly drawn-out heist plan.
"Nora, you laser a hole in the ceiling. I'll float Billy inside Phoebe's room. He'll superspeed, grab the plant, and get out. We rendezvous in Cleveland, start feeding it firecrackers and patio furniture," Max said not seeing Olivia standing there yet.
"Cleveland is the first place she would look for you," Olivia crossed her arms squinting at the three.
Max's head shot up to look at the girl. "We've been compromised, take her out," He instructed the two younger kids. Billy and Nora just looked at their older brother confusedly.
Phoebe came rushing down the stairs distracting them. "No, no, no," She repeated before joining the group. "Guys, I spilled water on Trevor, and now I think he's dead!" Phoebe held up the sad plant. "By the way, Cleveland is the first place I would look for you,"
Olivia couldn't help but give Max a sarcastic smile at the fact that she had been correct. Nora shook her head. "I told you we should've gone to Miami,"
Phoebe sighed before turning to her best friend. "This is serious. My teacher chose me to watch her favorite plant and I let it die. Liv, you gotta fix this," Phoebe thrust the potted plant in her hands.
Olivia looked down at the sad wilted plant now in her arms before holding up her hand to fix it, but before she could do anything Max interrupted.
"Wait, you're not gonna ask for my help? I could fix that plant," Max interrupted the two with a scoff. This made Olivia pause and raise an eyebrow.
"You think you could fix this plant better than a superhero with plant powers?" Olivia squinted at the boy lowering the potted plant and stepping towards him.
"I know I could. I'm a supervillain," Max challenged matching her step so they were almost nose to nose.
"You're not a supervillain, yet," Olivia shot back.
"And you're not a superhero, yet," Max clenched his jaw.
"Guys, please Liv," Phoebe tried to cut through their staredown.
Olivia didn't break away from Max's stare, she only held her hand up to her best friend. "No, since Max thinks he's better than my birth-given powers he should do it," Olivia shoved the potted plant into Max's stomach.
Max winced slightly at the force. "I will do it and I'll succeed," He shot back.
"All right, Dr. Frankenstien let's see what you got," Olivia smirked.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
𝗠𝗔𝗫 𝗛𝗔𝗗 𝗦𝗘𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗗 to take the girl's Frankenstein comment too literally because his room had transformed into some sort of mad scientist lab. Olivia looked around the room knowing that Max would make a big dramatic point because of how she had challenged him.
Max let out an evil laugh and spooky organ music played making her jump. "You really had to do all of this?" She asked the boy.
"Yeah, is this just some excuse to wear a silly costume?" Phoebe asked gesturing to Max's lab coat and goggles.
Max lifted the goggles from his face. "No, but this is," Max clapped his hands twice. "Assistants!"
Billy and Nora stepped forward and Olivia's eyes widen had their costumes wondering how she didn't see them before.
"My hump itches," Billy said before reaching behind him to scratch at the fake hump on his back.
"Well, that's too bad because I look fabulous," Nora struck a pose showing off her bride of Frankenstein costume and smiling.
"Don't worry Max, it's not like I wanted to wear a fun costume," Colosso called out from his cage.
"You know if I had known you would've done all this, I would've just fixed the plant myself," Olivia said still taking in Billy and Nora's costumes.
Phoebe turned to Olivia hopefully. "There's still time,"
"No, I got this," Max said. Olivia shrugged and Phoebe sighed stepping back. Olivia stood next to Max with her arms crossed, watching over the plant. Max leaned down on the metal table where he had the plant and chemicals he needed.
"All right, let's begin," He said and Billy and Nora moved into position to assist him. "Essence of moon ray," He held his hand out.
"Yes, master," Billy handed him the vial and got into character.
"Growth hormone," Max held his hand out again.
"Yes, master," Billy nodded handing it to him.
"Eye of newt," Max held his hand out.
"Gross, master," Billy couldn't help but comment still in character.
Max straightened up and turned to Phoebe. "All right, before I do this do you promise if I bring it back to life I can feed it whatever I want?" Max asked her.
Phoebe pouted and turned to Olivia. "Liv," She tried to beg again.
Olivia rolled her eyes. "It's not like it's going to work," She told her friend honestly after seeing the ingredients Max had put in the plant.
Phoebe sighed before turning to her brother hoping Olivia was right. "Just do it," She sighed.
Spooky organ music played again as Billy raised up the metal table and Max went to flip the switch that would activate the plant. "Here goes nothing," Max said and flipped the switch.
Electricity struck the dead plant ─ almost blinding the group. Once it was done Billy lowered the table back down and Max looked at the plant in awe.
"It's alive. Alive!" Max shouted.
Olivia and everyone else looked at the dead plant unimpressed. "Hey, Dr. Fake-Einstein, your light show didn't work," Nora sassed.
Olivia let out a chuckle. "Exactly, I'll fix it," She said moving to hold up her hand.
Max held his hand up to stop her. "Not so fast, flower power," He said. Olivia turned to look at the plant again seeing that it had now sprouted a new shiny green leaf. "Evil science takes time," He said leaning down to get a closer look at his work.
Olivia couldn't help the shocked expression that came over her face as she too leaned down to get a closer look at the plant.
"Woah, maybe it did work," Phoebe said in awe.
"I got next!" Colosso said. "Breathe some life into my friend here," The kids turned to him to see the stuffed rabbit next to him. They only raised their eyebrows. "What? I get lonely," He defended seeing their curious stares.
Max shook his head before turning to Olivia. "Told you I could do it," Olivia gave him a look before turning back to the plant that was silently growing. She couldn't sense that anything was wrong with it. It just felt surprisingly normal.
Olivia stood up facing Max. "We'll see about that," She shrugged still not buying that somehow this plan wouldn't go array. "Don't forget it's capital SOS when you need my help," Olivia shouted making her way up the stairs.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗔 𝗛𝗔𝗗𝗡'𝗧 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗬 expected an SOS text from Max, but when it popped on her screen she couldn't help but smirk slightly. There was a skip in her step as she made her way to Max's open window.
"See I told you — OH MY GOD!" Her gloating was cut off when she caught sight of the gigantic plant that was now growing in Max's room almost taking up half of the room. "How did this happen?" Olivia turned to Max with a panicked look.
"Gallon of growth hormone," Dr. Colosso's voice was heard, but instead of it coming from his cage he was now muffled and coming from inside the plant.
"He ate Dr. Colosso," Olivia said slowly.
"Jokes on him, 'cause I'm going straight to his thighs," Dr. Colosso's muffled voice retorted.
Max shook his head and rolled up his sleeves. "You crossed the line, weed. No one messes with my bunny," Max said bravely. He used his freeze breath to freeze the monster plant. The two only watched horrified as the plant shook off the ice seemingly immune to the power.
"Step back," Olivia pushed Max back knowing she had to fix this. As easily as she could heal plants she could kill them or in this case shrink them down to normal like she should've done in the first place instead of letting Max get the best of her.
The girl held her hand up to use her powers to shrink it down but the plant made no changes. Olivia sighed in frustration. "Any day now," Max leaned closer to her and whispered.
She shook him off and tried again. The plant got annoyed by her stance and reached one of its vines out to grab at her hand and slap it down.
"It's not working," Olivia complained to Max with wide eyes.
"Freakishly big and immune to powers? Even your powers? I am good," He said in awe making Olivia glare. The plant swiped at the two again but they were quick to duck out of the way and scramble away from it.
Max pushed Olivia behind him to yell at the plant. "You've already eaten all my food and my friend, what else do you want?" The plant growled at them and they stepped further away.
"Sorry Trevor, but we're off the menu," Max said before grabbing Olivia's wrist so they could make their getaway up the stairs. "I'm coming back for you, Dr. Colosso!" He shouted.
Olivia and Max ran fast up the stairs and into the living room where Phoebe, Billy, and Nora all sat looking at what Phoebe had made for breakfast.
"Hey, guys. How's breakfast?" Max asked them as calmly as he could.
"Well, Phoebe said you took all the food for Trevor, so we had to boil my macaroni art," Billy picked up a piece of pasta from his bowl to show them.
"Hey, it was either that or we order pizza for breakfast," Phoebe said. Her stomach made a noise and she frowned. "We should've ordered pizza for breakfast,"
"So, did you change Trevor back to normal?" Nora asked.
"Oh, he changed," Max sighed. Phoebe looked between her brother and her best friend suspiciously. "Off-topic here, but does dad have a chainsaw?" He asked.
"Why do you need a chainsaw?" Phoebe's suspicion continued. "What did he do?" She turned her look to her best friend.
Before Phoebe could get her answer Billy let out a scream. They all turned to see the boy getting dragged towards Max's slide by a strong vine.
"That's what he did!" Olivia answered Phoebe. Phoebe stood up to grab onto her younger brother. Olivia followed her friend grabbing her waist to help pull him. Soon everyone was using their strength to get Billy free.
"Is this Trevor?" Phoebe asked.
"No, it's my other monster plant!" Max sarcastically yelled back. The five finally yanked hard enough to get Billy free from Trevor's grasp. The panic wasn't done because the Thunder monitor beeped and the four siblings yelled and rushed to sit on the couch.
Olivia just followed their lead sitting on the couch and crossing her legs with a wide smile trying not to seem too suspicious as Hank and Barb popped up on the screen.
"Hi!" Barb waved through the screen.
"Hi, mom and dad!" The siblings said back.
"Hi, Mr. and Mrs. Thunderman!" Olivia waved back.
"What's wrong?" Hank asked immediately.
"Wrong? Why would you say something's wrong?" Max asked.
"Because you're all sitting in the exact same place as the last time we called and Olivia's got that creepy smile on her face," Hank answered. Olivia was quick to let her smile drop.
"I know what it is," Barb said making the kids panic. "My poor little babies miss me," She cooed at the screen making Hank look at her strangely. Before they could suspect anymore some guy in a suit walked in from behind them.
"All right, Thundermans. Breaks over, time for chapter 106," The man sighed. Hank and Barb matched his annoyed face.
"Gotta go, we'll be home soon," He sighed and hung up the phone.
"I love my babies!" Barb shouted before the call completely ended.
"Okay, we have to get this thing under control before mom and dad get back," Phoebe stood up from the couch.
"Yeah, or before they send my parents to check on you," Olivia added.
"I can create an antidote to change it back but I'll need someone to sneak into my liar to grab the chemicals," Max said. He turned to his younger brother with a smile. "Who wants to play fetch the chemicals?"
Nora shook her head. "You must think we're real idiots,"
"I love playing fetch the chemicals!" Billy said excitedly.
"No, no more of this. Liv has to fix this," Phoebe said.
"Superpowers don't work on it," Olivia informed her.
Phoebe sighed. "Okay, we can do this together. I have a plan," She nodded sitting back down to inform everyone of the plan.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗘𝗕𝗘 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗔 were the first to venture down into Max's room. Which was now covered in foliage and looked like a jungle. The sound of a bird chirping could be heard as the girls looked around for any sign that the mutant plant was going to attack.
"Would you stop that?" Phoebe asked exasperatedly turning to her younger sister who was the one making the jungle noises from behind them. Trevor growled again bringing their attention back to the matter at hand.
"Okay, you guys ready?" Phoebe called out to her brothers.
"No," They both answered.
"Just get down here," Phoebe said. The two boys made their way sadly down the steps. Phoebe's plan had them now dressed up as sunflowers and they were not happy about it.
"Is this really necessary?" Max asked, clearly embarrassed.
"Yes, it's part of the plan. You two need to distract Trevor while Liv and I grab the chemicals for the antidote," Phoebe explained. "Plus it's hilarious," Phoebe and Olivia laughed.
Max sighed but was the first to make a move toward the plant. "Hey, Planty, Planty. Over here," Max tried to distract it.
Billy stepped forward and pushed him back. "That's the best you got? Watch and learn," Billy faced the plant. "Hey, there tall green, and leafy. See anything you like?" Billy's voice went up an octave and he waved flirtatiously at the plant.
"She said distracting not disturbing," Max said in disgust. Phoebe and Olivia ducked out of the way to go get the chemicals as Billy continued to flirt with Trevor.
"Okay, Max, what chemicals do you need?" Phoebe asked.
"I'll need the lunarcialmafin, the chloroformalios, and the triptafotomene," He answered.
The two girls only turned to look at him confusedly. "The green, purple, and yellow ones!" Max corrected so they would understand.
"Uh, hurry up, guys," Billy said in his high-pitched voice. "This is getting weird," The plant burped loudly right in Billy's face. "And disgusting,"
"Okay, got 'em," Olivia said holding two of the vials Max needed. Phoebe nodded holding the other one.
"Wait! Dad's emergency fried chicken!" Nora called out to them. "Some of us didn't have a real breakfast," Phoebe groaned before grabbing that too and handing it to Nora.
"Max, hurry up and mix that antidote before Trevor..... changes his relationship status to it's complicated," Phoebe hurried him.
Max picked up the pace mixing the chemicals as fast as he could but somehow Trevor had finally realized Billy was in fact not a talking sunflower. The plant got angry and used his vines to push back Billy and wrap him in them. Nora who was eating away at Hank's emergency fried chicken was too close so Trevor smelled more food.
The plant reached a vine to try and take some from her but the young girl slapped it away. "Get your own," She said.
This angered Trevor more and Nora met the same fate as Billy. Both were now tied up in vines and held captive by the mutant plant.
Billy and Nora screamed. "I am not happy about this!" Billy yelled.
"Don't worry, Colosso, I'll get you out of there," Max said, still trying to get the antidote perfect.
"Get a hot towel ready. It's like a bag of wet hamburger meat in here," Colosso said, still stuck inside the plant.
Olivia let out a scream when a vine hit her back. The girl did her best to swat at it to keep it at bay since her powers didn't work. "Any day now, Max!" Olivia said exasperatedly.
Max mixed one last chemical. "It's done. I just need to get him to eat it," He said before turning to Phoebe. "Give me your shoe,"
"No way, these are my favorite flats," Phoebe shook her head.
"Phoebe!" Max said sternly.
Phoebe sighed. "Fine," Phoebe took off her flat handing it to Max. Max dipped her shoe in the antidote.
"Hey, stink breath!" Max shouted before throwing the shoe at the plant. Instead of swallowing it, he hit the plant and the shoe flew back at them. "Darn it, he won't take the bait. He just wants to eat us" Max concluded.
"Let me try your shoe," Phoebe held her hands out to Max. Max nodded taking off his shoe but once Phoebe had it in her grasp she hit him with it. "Those were my cutest flats!" She complained, hitting Max with his own shoe after every word.
"Guys!" Olivia yelled to her friends still trying to shove away plant vines. It didn't help because the twins continued their complaining only this time less physically.
"Billy, since this looks like this might be the end. I have something to tell you," Nora said.
"That even though you insult me all the time deep down, you really love me?" Billy asked trying to get sentimental.
"No, I use your toothbrush to scrub Dr. Colosso," Nora admitted.
Olivia's eyes went wide with an idea. She held her arms up to push the twins back who were still fighting. "Wait, that's it! Dr. Colosso!"
Max turned to her confusedly. "What do you mean?"
"Well, your mutant plant doesn't have an appetite for shoes, he wants us or something that seems to be living," Olivia began to explain. "So, let's give him what he wants,"
"The stuffed rabbit," Phoebe whispered to Olivia catching on. Phoebe turned around and used her telekinesis to get the stuffed rabbit from Colosso's cage. "Here, dose this with your antidote," She handed it to Max.
"You might want to hurry, it looks hungry," Phoebe rushed Max as he dipped the stuffed bunny into the antidote.
Max turned to Olivia handing holding out the antidote-soaked stuffy. "Would you like to do the honors?"
"Hmm, how'd you know?" Olivia asked sarcastically taking the plush toy from his grasp. She faced the plant and got ready to throw.
"Three pointer from deep," Max narrated. Olivia threw the stuffed toy and it landed right in Trevor's mouth. "Nothing but plant," Max said holding up his hand for a high-five. Olivia returned it before the three watched as Trevor swallowed the antidote.
The mutant plant grumbled as the stuffed toy flew back out of its mouth. Phoebe instinctively caught it.
"Ugh, why did I catch this?" Phoebe asked disgustedly holding the toy away from her.
The plant grumbled again before Dr. Colosso shot out of his mouth and Max caught him. "Someone run me a bath," Dr. Colosso said, his voice shaking, clearly traumatized.
Trevor began to grumble again and they looked back at the plant worried he might cough up something else. Instead, the plant finally began shrinking. The vines around the room loosened and Billy and Nora were finally free.
The foliage dropped away to reveal the plant back to its normal self making them cheer at their victory.
"I did it I defeated the plant!" Max said amongst the cheers. This made Phoebe and Olivia raise their eyebrows.
"What? I defeated the plant?" Olivia corrected.
"I came up with the plan," Phoebe continued. The three teens argued amongst themselves an indicator that things were finally back to normal.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗧 disaster had been Max's fault Olivia felt it was only fair that they had to clean it up themselves. Maybe she had helped a little bit but that still left a bag of plant waste for each of the Thundermans.
"Is a mutant monster plant garbage or recycling?" Billy asked as they made their way up from Max's room with the last bit of the mess.
The Thunder monitor beeped with an alert. "Parents approaching," The monitor warned.
"Yard waste," Max panicked. They all grabbed at the trashbags and shoved them out into the backyard. The kids ran to the couch and all tried to sit as normally as possible. Olivia kept her smile from being too wide not wanting to rat them out.
Hank and Barb opened the door. The kids all greeted them as they made their way in. Hank carrying a tray of random jams in his arms.
"Did you guys get the yacht?" Max asked.
Olivia turned to Max surprised. "They were getting a yacht?"
"Or uncle Wilson died," Nora said sadly.
"Wilfred," Barb corrected. "There is no yacht," Barb said sadly.
"So we're not rich?" Billy asked.
Hank looked at Barb. "We're rich in family, you see life's an adventure and ..... your mother will tell you all about it," His voice trailed off as he walked off to the kitchen with his jams sadly.
Barb looked at her kids excitedly. "Sooo, what did my little treasures do while we were gone?"
"Not much," Phoebe shrugged.
"Chilled," Max added.
"Almost got eaten by a giant plant with huge teeth, smelly breath— " Billy said but Phoebe quickly put a hand over his mouth.
"Oh, our Billy has such a wild imagination," Phoebe tried to play off. "Stop talking," She whispered to her younger brother.
"Oh, it is so nice to be home," Barb said paying no mind to her son's story. "How about tonight we have an early Thunderman-Greenedge dinner?" The kids all nodded at this.
"Yeah? I'll call Carla and I was thinking of a great, big, green salad," Barb continued.
"No!" All of them shouted not wanting anything to do with plants at the moment.
"Okay," Barb said looking at them strangely. "How about spaghetti?"
"No!" Billy shouted. "Ohhhh, wait spaghetti is good," He quickly changed his mind. Barb just looked at the kids strangely before nodding and going off to the kitchen to call Olivia's parents over.
With her gone, the five just looked at each other. They couldn't help but laugh about the interesting day they had all had.
