Chapter 29

I woke up to the sunlight beaming in my room. I looked around and no one was there, I slipped on my flip flops and went into the kitchen and made myself some tea. I looked at the time, it was only five o'clock in the morning. I was surprised how awoken I was, I flipped on the TV and started watching Crashbox, a show I watched when I was a child. Watching it, it brought back so many memories, that I took out some pictures from the picture tub. Flipping through the pictures, laughing and smiling Edgar and Brian came out.

" Good Morning, How did you sleep?" Edgar asks as they sit on the couch.

" Okay, I guess... How did you sleep? Would you like some coffee or tea?" I ask as I put the pictures back.

" Wonderfully, may I please have some orange tea,"Brian says.

" Fantastic, may I please have a cup of lemon tea, if you have some," Edgar asks.

" Oh, good. Your drinks will be ready soon." I say playfully, getting the drinks.

" Ma'am, Why will you not go to the Ball?" Brian asks as I hand him his tea.

" There is no reason for me to go, it is the Royals' Family's Ball. Regular people like me wouldn't fit in." I say slouching back into my chair. I wrap a small blanket around me, that was on the back of the chair.

" There would have to be some reason that Prince Baba invited you," Edgar says smiling after his first sip of tea. I tell them what had happened with Dimitri, besides he is the Prince's brother. They listen very carefully, and they think to themselves.

" Like I said there is no reason for me to go. There is, and probably always will be a barrier between Royalty and Normal People. I'm not trying to be rude or anything, it's just I think Royalty would think of me as a pest, and they would think of me as a disgrace to them." I say as I get up and put their cups in the sink.

" You would not be a disgrace to them.." Edgar started to say.

" How would you know." I interrupted, they both look down. " I'm sorry  I didn't mean it to come out like that," I say looking at them as the rest come out from their rooms.

" Now that you're all here if you want to give me lessons and turn me into a proper lady, go ahead. But, I won't promise you anything. If I back out at the last minute then let me, please. But, I am accepting part of your offer, I can't believe I'm doing this, of going to the Ball..." I say taking a deep breath, looking around at all of them.

" Gentleman, make up a schedule now, we have a week to get Ma'am ready," Brown says, then they all scatter to their rooms and come back out with a whiteboard, with a schedule on it.

" Oh, I can't do it Tuesday or Thursday, I have to work..." I announce as the look at me with a smile.

" We have that covered, ma'am," Edgar says as he pulls me over to the board by the wrist.

" Okay since we have a week, and there is six of us with our own specialty. There will be three lessons each day, all day. You already seem to have the first step down to everything, like the basic manners. So if you are wondering the seventh day which makes the total week we will find you a gown, and the proper makeup." Seth says to me as he points at the days and the subjects.

" Shall we begin?" I ask, and they all smile and say " Yes."  This already seems like it's hard, I just get the feeling. They start to move the furniture out of the way, making the room empty.

" First we will begin with the simplest task, oral comprehension. People never judge you by what you don't say. They judge you by what you say, and if you can do this well, it will influence people to have confidence in you.
Therefore, form the habit of pronouncing each word correctly, and to speak with care and dignity. Speech is the only means to make yourself understood. By not pronouncing your words correctly and by not speaking with the proper care, your listener may get the wrong meaning out of what you say. The correct pronunciation of each word, enunciating each syllable, will not only improve your speech but will also enable you to spell correctly more easily." Norman starts to say, as I grab a pen and paper writing everything thing down.

"To understand Voice Production, it is essential to know the function of each organ by which it is produced. The organs to produce speech are the lungs and diaphragm, which are the powers that move the breath, the substance of which the voice is made; the larynx with the vocal cords, which are voice-producing powers and the mouth, which includes the tongue, palate, lips and resonance chambers, which are the organs that amplify the voice and transform it into speech." He starts to go on at a moderate past.

" Um, Norman you don't have to go all medical. I know how to use my bodily functions..." I say shyly looking around the room at everyone. " Sorry... Go on.," I add on after a moment of silence, he continues. After an hour and 10 pages of notes, I get a five-minute break.

" Do you want to continue with the speech lesson or do you want to start another lesson?" Seth asks.

" Um you choose for me if I stay with this lesson doesn't that interfere with the schedule?" I ask Seth looking back over the notes I just took.

" Well that's true, if you have a three lessons in each day that means that the day is split it into thirds, you can have extra time doing one lesson ." He replies with mild hand movement.

" Okay, well then let's continue with this lesson. The more the better." I say with a laugh. I continue with the speech lesson for two more hours. I got an hour and a half break and the next lesson was dining.

"
Etiquette affects almost every aspect of dining. Dining etiquette rules apply before you ever take your seat and continue after you excuse yourself from the table. This dining etiquette reference is divided into six sections: Table Manners, Table Setting, Restaurant Etiquette, Business Dining Etiquette, Wine Etiquette and International Dining Etiquette. We will only be covering four sections." Edgar starts to say, as he seats me in the chair. Bringing out some food and silverware.

" You are supposed to work from out to the plate, right?" I ask, he smiles and nods.

" For almost all meals, if you are wondering what utensil to use, start from the outside and work your way in. So, if you are served a salad first, use the fork set to the far left of your plate.
Your water glass is the one above your knife in your place setting. Don't chew with your mouth open." He continues. I continue listening and writing notes. A few hours later I start the Final lesson of the day.

" Posture is the emergent alignment of the body that remains relatively constant in its underlying structure and unity across various forms of human positions. It refers to the unconscious and stable structural disposition of the body framework attained over a long period of continuous body movements and patterns.

These stable postures attained over time is a result of one's lifestyle and orientation. Over time people come to attain an average posture, bad or inefficient posture, and sometimes a good or effective posture. The quality or effectiveness of posture is related to the proportionate structure of the body framework and the optimal balance of the body. " Seth starts to say, putting books on my head, I sit up straighter balancing them.

The lesson goes on after it finishes. I start to rub my tense shoulders, Brian notices and he starts to give me a massage. I get relaxed almost falling asleep.

" Um, Thanks. I think I'm going to go to my room... Good night..." I say going to my room. This was much harder than I thought. As soon as I finish getting dressed there was a knock on the door. I open it finding Brian.

" Hello, your neck was really tense, before... Would you like me to finish?" He asks.

" No, you don't have to." I say, he bows and says " Please, I insist." I let him come in, I sit on my bed. I could feel his soft hand move my hair from my back, he starts to massage gently. Moving from my shoulders felt so good I started to moan a little feeling relieved. I notice my morning, I move away from him.

" Thanks, I feel better now..." I say looking at his slightly blushed face. There was another knock on the door. I get up and answer it finding Edgar.

" Ma'am we set a bath for you, so you can relax." He says looking at Brian. "Was I interrupting something ma'am?" He asks.

" No, you are not. Thank you, let me grab my clothes. " I say to Edgar. I go to my closet and grab some new clothes, and a towel, as they leave. I lay in nice bath when my phone rings.

" Hello?"

" Bonjour, sorry I didn't call you back. " Max says.

" Max! I missed you so much. " I say as my knees go to my chest.

" I missed you too baby. How are you, anything now happens?" He asks.

" I'm okay, just a lot has happened... Just like don't get mad, okay..." I start to say.

" Baby, I won't. Go on." He says. I start to tell him what happened from the day I wrote the note, until today.

" Umm... Max are you still there?" I ask.

" Yeah, I'm still here... I'm confused... You are going to the Ball, the royal ball." He says.

" I told you not to get mad," I say.

" I'm not mad, I'm quite happy in fact. Just the fact that there are six men living with my woman." He says.

" I know, I guess when you say it that way it is kinda weird..." I say.

" Yeah, just don't do.." He starts to say.

" Babe, You know I will never." I interrupted.

" Okay, well I know it is getting ready late. You should go to sleep." He says.

" Okay, Good night babe," I say and we hang up. I notice that the water got really cold. I get up and get dried. When there was a knock one the door.

" Hey it's Brown are you alright in there?" He yells trough the door.

" Yeah, I'll be right out," I yell back, getting dressed. I go and open the door. " Sorry, I took so long... Could you tell Edgar thank you for me?" I say.

" Yes, I will tell him." He replies.

"Okay thanks, good night," I say going to my room. I fall fast asleep thinking about Max's voice.
