Aubrey's P.O.V

"Let's go inside. Shall we?" Cameron says smiling down at me.

That smile though...

"Sure." I say smiling back.

"You guys get going, I have to go for a bit." Ariana says heading to her car.

"Where are you going?" I say feeling scared to being left all by myself.

"Well my car is running out of gas, and I don't want us to get stranded while dropping you off."

"But is there any gas station around here?" Cameron says in a concerned tone.

"Well, according to Google maps, there is one around the corner." she says sharply.

"Bree why don't you go with Cameron. I'll catch up later." Ariana continues.

"Oh okay. Call me when you get back." I say as we head inside.

"Yeah yeah honey. Go have fun. Cameron makes sure she has fun."

"Yes ma'am. Now get going."

Wow, they must really know each other for Ariana to entrust me with him. The question though is how they know each other. Ariana always tells me about the friends she makes, what happened with this one. Although, she might have considering that he looks familiar as well as his name.

As we enter inside, I am welcomed with an unfamiliar strong smell which I'm guessing is what alcohol and dancing teenagers smells like.

Gross.

The party is not like all those disgusting club parties, its more of a celebration; a wild one actually.

"Hey sis." I turn to see my elder brother smirking.

I wonder what he's doing here.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" I ask really surprised.

"Are you forgetting that I'm in this school?"

"No, it's just that this party is for outgoing 8th graders and seniors."

"And who says they're the only ones that came for this party?."

I should have known.

"Wait, so there are people from other grades here as well?"

"Well just your class, freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors."

"And by juniors he means the future seniors a.k.a us." Cameron says pointing at him and Jack.

That's weird.

"Wait you guys know each other?" I ask confused.

"Bree don't you remember Cameron?" Jack asks as I shake my head.

Now this is getting twisted.

"Seriously, Ariana wasn't kidding when she says you have a memory the size of a bird's eye." Jack says chuckling.

I'll get him back for that, but first, I need to know what he's on about.

"You seriously don't remember my best friend Cameron that moved to another city when I was younger? The Cameron that I was sad about? The Cameron that was part of our squad? You don't remember?"

And that's when it dawned on me that the guy I was standing in front of was my long time crush Cameron. The one that I planned on confessing my feelings to but was too scared. I still remember that when he moved, I didn't step out from my room for two full days because I had a complete breakdown. I told my family that my goldfish died and apparently I had to kill Mr wiggles because of him.

And right now I'm standing in front of him completely shocked and the only words able to come out are;

"T-that C-Cameron?" I say nearly choking on my words.

"Yes that Cameron." Jack replies impatiently.

"Um I have to go to the bathroom." I say and run out before waiting for a response.

I rush to the opposite hall in search for an actual bathroom but then I bump into a hard chest and when I look up I see-

"Aubrey!!!" The guy says and then hugs me.

No freaking way!!!

This definitely has to be some kind of coincidence. How can both of them show up at the same party?. My child crush and my second bestfriend. The two guys that meant a lot to me, the two guys that held the group together, the two guys that left me. Mason and I met at camp.

Instantly, we clicked unlike him and Ariana who took the longest to understand each other. But once they did, it was just the best thing. My friendship with Mason always remained the same as we still communicated with each other. Distance can't even separate us.

"Oh my gosh why didn't you tell me you were coming." I say as he releases me.

"I'm sorry. I wanted it to be a surprise."

"Well you succeeded. You've grown so much." I say scanning all his features. Mason has always been good looking but back then, he looked innocent. Now, not too much.

"Yeah, you kind of look the same. Just hotter I guess." He says smirking down at me.

"It's good to have you back, Hotshot." I say hugging him again.

"Shall we go back to the party?"

"No." I say sternly.

"Why? What's wrong?" He asks with a concerned look.

"Well, it turns out that you're not the only surprise I got today." I say smiling.

"What? I'm confused."

"Cameron, he's back." I say as his mouth hangs open.

"Wait Cameron, the Cameron that I know, is at this party?"

"Yup." I say plainly.

"And I suppose you still have feelings for him." Mason says in a bored tone.

"Well it's difficult not to have feelings for a guy I've been obsessed with since the 4th grade!!!" I say with a loud voice.

Sorry!

"I-I'm sorry for shouting its just that I can't get rid of this feelings even if I want to. I've not liked anyone since Cameron and honestly I don't think I can. Even though he has been gone for a really long time, seeing him again brings all those feelings back. The whole thing is just driving me crazy. The guy I like is probably thinking about anything besides me and I'm just by a corner still obsessing about him." I continue.

"You really have issues." Mason says placing his hand on my shoulder.

"I know I'm your best friend but..." he continues.

"But?"

"But I don't do well with boy drama." he says as I let out a small laugh and he chuckles.

Thank Christ he's here.

"Thank you." I say smiling.

"For what?" He says still smiling.

"For being you and for showing up."

"Well, I'm here to stay." He says smiling down at me.

No freaking way!!!

"You can't be serious." I say in disbelief.

"Let's conquer high school together." Mason says taking my hands into his.

"I better be in that plan of yours." a voice says, and we both turn around to see Ariana.

"I'm so glad you're back!!!" Ariana squeals and runs to hug Mason.

"Yeah me too, I'm glad I'm back." he says and nudges me.

Corky as ever.

"I mean when I saw you I was seriously shocked, we really missed you Mace." Ariana says with a small smile.

"I'm just glad we're altogether." I say as we all engulf ourselves in a group hug.
