He grinned a little, before responding "I am Viktor von Granzreich, the reigning monarch of this, Kingdom, the Granzereich kingdom. In other words, I'm the king..."

"What?"

Present...

You were stunned on what you heard... You did think that he might be some sort of nobleman or even royalty...But a king? That hasn't crossed your mind as you thought that he is still to young to become a king so you just thought that he is some sort of prince of the kingdom.

"Pardon? I can't seem to catch what you just said" You asked with utter shock and disbelief

The king chuckled at your reaction then said..."Hah! Once again...I am Viktor von Granzreich, The King of this Kingdom. What's your name boy?"

You took a double take at the man before responding while in a now composed manner while picking up your Cup from the table with your legs crossed "My name is Mochizuki Setsuna, Mochizuki is my family name while Setsuna is my given name, It's nice to meet you, your highness." You said in a confident tone.

"From Eashen I see! Spare me the formalities, Just call me Viktor especially since we're alone" He replied. "Then Viktor. Mind telling me what are you doing in a place like this?"

"Oh me? Just passing by... By the way, I would like to express my utmost gratitude for your help. As promised you will be rewarded accordingly." He replied. 

"I thought we're speaking without formalities? Anyways now that this we're safe.. Any idea on who sent those assassins? And by the looks of it those assassins are quite skilled. I was only able to get one to spill the beans with brutal strength." You asked

"No one comes to mind as of now...The Royal Guards will be conducting an investigation as soon as we return to the royal palace."

"Excuse me...We?" You asked once more in confusion

"Yes, of course... I can't pay you unless we go to back to the Royal Palace, so you'll have to accompany us to the capital."

"Well then, is that so? I thought our contract only lasts when I successfully deliver you to your destination?"

"Well that's about to change as we can't take a huge risk by letting go such a capable fighter as yourself getting recruited to kill me, eh?"

"Point taken....So, when will be leaving for the capital?"

"Well as soon as possible, when my business here is finished."

"And when is that? You probably don't mean that I should go and kiss your ass all the time right?"

"Ha! I like your choice of words chub...Let's see here.."

Viktor stops to think for a bit before continuing

"Around 2 days max...Just keep me alive for 2 days and then we'll return to the capital, maybe by then we would already get additional knights and get a cleared route... It would be much safer by then." he said in a cheerful tone like it was nothing.

"Alright then, would you like for me to stay close by or hidden and undercover?"

"I really don't like it when I get followed around by someone that I don't see...the way that they keep an eye on me...their stares brings chills to my spine so, just stay close to me, we can maybe chat a little bit if there's time"

"I see, I guess that's quite understandable"

"I do have a question for you, Mochizuki-san, are you a nobleman of some sort? Or are you some sort of an aristocrat from Eashen?"

"Why is that? I'm just a regular civilian that does adventuring for a living." 

"Ho? Is that so? I just found it weird as your mannerisms and your speech is very refined like a nobleman."

You chuckled at his remark.

"I do get that a lot, but I can guarantee  you that I'm just a Civilian that does adventuring for a living, that's why you call me an adventurer."

Both of you just laughed and continued talking with each other to pass time while waiting for Count McClain to return.  Both of you talked about different stuff. Mainly Economics and Politics. As you already lived in that world for 6 months and traveled quite often, you often heard gossips in the taverns and inns you stayed at, about what's going on in the capital, so this topic is also within your knowledge. Couple of minutes have passed when Count McClain's butler went in to call Viktor for dinner. 

"Your Highness, Dinner is ready. Would your friend join us for dinner?" The butler asked in a respectful tone.

"I won't be joining you tonight your highness, as I have some things to do.. I'll just have dinner at my place, if that's alright?" You replied back to the butler.

"Is that so? Well then, you're dismissed for tonight, I'll see you tomorrow morning, alright?"

"Well of course!" You said in a cheerful tone before you left and flew away to go to the Adventurer's Guild to claim your reward for the quest that you just done which after that you returned to your home exhausted. 

'Whew...That was stressful. I never thought that I would meet someone of high status just like that...I don't even know if this is a fortunate or an unfortunate encounter as I just acted on impulse and just said yes to everything...Welp, I guess I have no choice, I already had accepted this...You reap what you sow, huh?' You thought to yourself as you fell asleep on your bed

Time skip to morning

You just woke up and is now preparing breakfast for yourself to prepare to meet the king once again, when you feel an unknown presence outside your house.

'Hmm?? What's this? I feel a disturbance in the force...A burglar? Who would steal on broad daylight? An assassin? Well that's quick? Why am I a target? Well then, I guess I'll have to greet our guest politely.'

You turned off the stove and then took your sword which is resting by the counter while you're preparing breakfast. You went out of your house to the garden with only your Suit pants with a white buttoned down shirt with black leather shoes.

'Aight, now where is that bastard who dared to trespass my domain.' You said as the aura around you turned into pitch black. 

During our travels you managed to learn from one of your magician companions is that one of the quickest way to locate your enemy is by spreading your magical energy thinly across the surrounding area. This can only work if you have sufficient amount of magical energy and a great visualization of how your energy would interact with it's surroundings.

As you meet all requirements from the get go, you immediately managed to do it on your first attempt. Since you've already done this multiple times during your travels, it was not hard to track down the intruder which was on top of an apple tree and another one hiding behind some bushes.

But you didn't approach them directly as you also feel a somewhat strong magical energy emanating from the two intruders.

'They actually sent out people more capable this time but unlucky for them they don't know who they're facing, well I don't even know who I'm referring to as they but let's just not stress it out. Though I still don't know if it's a friend or a foe but I can definitely tell it's a human being and there's two of them...For now let's proceed with caution since I don't know what the hell they'll throw at me..'

You then slowly crept closer to them, eliminating your presence and aura not making any kind of noise whatsoever. You kept you sword in your sheathe preparing yourself to launch a surprise attack. 

You launched yourself at the intruder at the bush at full speed and gets knocked out cold as you used your sword to hit her at the nape hard enough to make the intruder unconscious but also not hard enough to break the spine and kill the intruder.

The other intruder took notice of what unfolded and immediately tries to help out its unconscious comrade by jumping off the tree and to attacks you but you immediately countered the intruder by dodging and grabbing its arm and pinning the intruder to the ground and forcing it to surrender.

The intruder that you just pinned let out a high pitch shriek of pain as you tightened your restraints against it. One thing that stood out to you is that their body sizes and strength is almost similar to a child which confuses you but didn't sway your decision to materialize a zip-tie and bounded the two intruder's legs and arms so that they won't escape before distancing yourself from them...

"May I ask both of your names? And the reason why you have entered my property?"

You then closely inspected them from a distance, they're both wearing brown tattered robes that has a hood on it that covers their hair and a part of their face, that from a distance they would definitely look like assassins, not only that but the strong magical energy emanating from their body is definitely strong, but not on the same as your level. 

"Please forgive us my lord, please spare our lives." Said one of the intruders.

"It was not our intention to bring harm to my lord!" Seconded the other one.

You then activated your Lie detection skill to tell if they are lying or not. And once again asked another question.

"Then what is your intention for entering my property?" You asked.

"My lord, we're very....very sorry.."

"Please answer my question...and honestly that is...."

Both of them hesitated for a bit then both of them starts audibly sobbing, but once again this did not sway you as you've been trained in your past life in situations like these.

"W-w-we we're only trying to get one of those apples as we are staving..." One of the intruders said while audibly sobbing.

"W-we h-haven't ate a meal for 3 days...and W-when we saw the a-apple tree, we we're hoping to get at-least something to eat as we're already at the verge of dying from hunger. With the last bit of our strength w-we managed to climb over the wall. I even got a wound on my leg because of it." You can hear the fear just from listening from the voice.

You inspected your surroundings and you definitely can see multiple freshly eaten apple cores lying on the ground.

"Hmm... One last question... Are you somehow related to any groups assassins..." 

"Assassins? Definitely not my lord, we  swear with our lives that we are not affiliated to any assassins...So please let us go..Have mercy on us my lord..."

"We'll do whatever you want, so please spare out lives and have mercy on us my lord!"

'They didn't lie at all.....So they must be extremely hungry right now...well then...'

You stared down at them for a minute before approaching them. You then slowly lowered your guard and drew your sword.

"M-my lord? P-please..please forgive us my lord...We don't want to die...H-have mercy" Asked one of the intruders shaking in fear.

You then cut loose the zip-ties that are restricting their movements. Before they could even say a word you immediately but gently carried them on one hand each which greatly surprised them.

"My lord? What are you doing?"

"Well both of you were hungry right? That means both of you still haven't eaten breakfast yet....So I was thinking if both of you would like to join me." You said in a happy tone like as if nothing happened.

"But my lord.... We entered your property without your consent and stole fruits from your tree...You should just throw us out.." 

"Do you think I could just throw out poor hungry children out just because they stole fruits from me? Absolutely not! In-fact when I listened to your explanation I actually felt sorry for the both of you."

They just went silent. But you just continued to head back to your house. You then can feel your shoulders are a bit wet, you definitely know that they are crying.

'I don't know what they've been through, or how hard it is, but I genuinely do want to help them. Even if just this small meal.' You thought.

After a couple of minutes of walking you finally arrived at your destination, you then set them down a table then you went off to prepare.

"It's not much but I hope this somewhat helps with your hunger" You said with a huge smile on your face.

"But my lord..."

"No buts...Just eat, also if you take off your hoods you'll be more comfortable I think..."

They at first hesitated but after a long pause then finally took off their hoods and what you saw utterly surprised you.

(A cat girl)

(And a fox girl)

'They're demi-humans? I have seen and partnered with them during my travels back then but... *sigh* Demi humans are usually looked down upon by the masses as lesser beings.. though there has been a law that has been passed in order to counter this public concern the stigma is still there. So that's why they almost always put there hoods up... I feel bad for them..' You thought to yourself.

"Please eat up, it's getting cold" You said as you served them a a freshly squeezed orange juice into their cups.

"B-but aren't you disgusted by our appearance?"

"Why would I? In fact I do think it's very cute! Eat up for now as you guys are pretty hungry"

They then started to eat, the look of comfort and relief in their faces also brought a smile to your face, you look like a father proudly looking at his daughters.

"Say, the both of you still haven't told me your names yet?"

Both paused for a second and looked down on the floor, you could see that their sad because their ears pointed downwards. You then approached them and gave them a pat to the head.

"Is there something wrong?" You asked while getting down to their level.

"We don't have any names.." The cat-girl responded.

"As we were sold off a slaves from birth, they would always refer to us as 'Slave' so we didn't have any names." The Fox-girl added.

"Well maybe we do have names but...It's been soo long since we heard it so we might have forgotten."

"I see..." 

The sour mood filled the room, you could see the sadness on their faces and tears welling up on their eyes. But then you thought of something brilliant that might cheer them up.

"I have a little proposal, would it be alright if I gave you names? It would be more convenient rather than just calling each by names right?" You asked with a gentle smile on your face.

"My lord? What do you mean?" Both of them asked in confusion.

"Just like I said,I would like to give the both of you names!"

"B-but my lord, We couldn't possibly bother you even further by giving us names!" The fox-girl said.

"My lord has already been very kind to us as not only you spared our lives but also you gave us food to eat..." The cat-girl also said.

"Don't mind those stuff...Do you want some names or not?" You asked.

They both went silent.....

"We do..." They said in unison.

"That's the spirit! Give me a minute..." You said cheerfully. Then you started thinking...

'A name....Hmmm...It's been a while since I named something...Usually I always have a list for a potential name...More than that the things that I have named are for Project Models...This is quite hard...A name for a Cat and a Fox... Ahh, these might be nice...' 

You looked towards the cat-girl...

"From now on you will now be called, Yui!" You said with a smile and gave her a pat to the head...

Yow now faced towards the Fox-girl...

"And you from now on will be called, Amane!" You also said to her with a smile and also gave her a pat to the head...

Then a moment of silence...You then started to grow concerned....

'Did they like it? I do hope they like it...I'm not very good at naming people...' You thought.

"So...Umm do both of you like it? Is it bad? Do you want another name? T-then I shall think of another one, give me a second I-"

"No...." Yui interjects...

You can see their hands shaking while holding the cutlery you gave them to eat.

"...We love it..." Amane said...

"I'm glad you liked it...I'm happy..." You breathed a sigh of relief, you can also see their tails and ears standing up which meant that they are extremely happy.

"We are forever in-debt to you, my lord!" Yui said to you with a big smile.

"Yeah, my lord is super kind!" Amane also said to you with a big smile.

"I have a little request, can the both of you stop calling me 'My lord'? It's kinda embarrassing.."

"But my lo-"

"Just call me Setsuna...Not my lord, just Setsuna..." You cut her off before she could finish her sentence.

Amane looked at you in the eyes and said "Hmm...Setsuna-oniichan!" 

This surprised you a little bit but didn't mind at all since it is still better than being called 'my lord' all the time.

"Onii-chan? That's a bit...."

"We can't?" They said looking at you with sad cute fox and cat eyes

"Urk....Umm...*sigh* I guess it's fine...." You agreed a little unwillingly

'Onii-chan? It's been soo long since I've been called that..Heh...Touya....How is he back there in Japan? Is he doing well? How's mom? I kinda miss him now...I do hope he doesn't end up like me... Touya...Mom I really do hope the both of you are doing well...'
