Serena's POV

Merida and mother went to visit me again after a few days, I had a puzzled thought by their sudden visit. Usually, they will be visiting me once in double weeks due to their daily life, and here they are waiting before my small cottage house, I greet them with Ao in my arms as both of us just finish in making pickle fruits. Lately, Ao seems to be less active than before but his cheerfulness remains the same. For the first time ever, I can feel Ao's wave of his soul, it's beating with a small thump like a weakened heart and it worried me a lot since it was the first time to see Ao falling into this state. Hopefully, it's not some kind of disease but fatigue only.

"Mother, Merida-san, welcome." I greet them with a smile that secretly hiding my worries. "It's rare for both of you pay visit earlier than usual."

"There's no time pleasantry, Selena my child."

The colors of her feathers' irises abruptly changing into many colors that I thought I was a seeing a disco light, sound funny but the view of it are making me feel uncomfortable too. Everyone rather looks strange recently, the wave of living things stutter as if something choking their life out and chilliness dancing in the air even though the wind stay still. Something tells me it has something to do with Goddess of Fate, but it may be something other than her, who knows if there is another magnanimous living being beside that goddess.

"Today Deity of Darkness is going to visit the Lost Forest, little spice."  "It's been a few decades but the point is. His existance will also invite the eclipse."

The eclipse. it rings my mind.

I will take him back after the ninth eclipse.

The first eclipse is coming after all these years, I still yet did not tell him the truth. How could I dare to say that painful truth? The guiltiness burdens my heart that I forgot to listen to what were they trying to explain to me. The air again distorted but with this time, wind fan into my face with some of the colorful glitter shoot toward me in fast speed. 

"Selena-chan!!" Many small squeaky voices called me as the fear seep in their glowing soul. Ah, the fairies.

"What's wrong?" I feel them clinging on my shoulders and behind my hair.  They are smaller than my palm so their weight did not bother me that much, even magical being is flustered today, then indeed eclipse it's a scary event. Quite different than my previous life though.

"Deity of Darkness certainly often scared many living things, but he only did his own responsibility," Merida said awkwardly. 

"Responsibility?"

"To balance everything around the world. Where darkness is too much reside in this world, he was blessed with the strength to consume the blackness within." Mother said. 

He sounds like a nice and reliable person despite his name, the eclipse occurrence are quite rare in this world. At least it should appear once a year in my previous world, seem this world did not entirely apply the same principle as mine. 

"Hey, I never ask this before, but what does eclipse meaning to Ao? Does Deity of Darkness has anything to do with him?" I ask worriedly, I don't want anything hurt him without my notice.

"If his darkness keeps inside him for way too long, misfortune shall set in his future as heart tainted." 

So this is like cleansing, I thought as I cradle Ao in my arm. His getting sluggish as the time pass by, mother told me I have to be somewhere farther from any natural resources and suggest me to go deserted forest which there are no a single living things except dead trees. The fairy kindly leads me to the direction of my destination, as I continue walking with guidance, the flickering light of living things around me is slowly disappearing as if I enter another world.  The next thing I knew...I am back to the dark world, it's a bit scary but the light in my embrace reminds me that I'm not alone. I coil my arms around him, feeling the warmness from his belly. 

Now I need to wait for Deity of Darkness to come, but thinking back again....wait a minute, how should I know he will come? I mean, does he even knew where am I? Mother, you forgot this daughter is not entirely know how his soul looks like either. I sighed in defeat, what am I going to do...Ao...I look down on him with worries keep increasing in me. 

Why are you keep making everything hard for me, huh, you goddess?

Somewhere in the void of space where the hair glitter like the milky way, gliding around the planet. The goddess of fate looking around with a same smile that plaster on her face, watching every creature daily life that still breathing, or already had their life snuff out like a burning candle.

"Cycle of life keep repeating,
so does the history,
 the fate I brought down are nothing,
 but a river that keeps pouring,
plants, animals, and mostly,
human...you're the one who change the trail of river,
Wether lead to joy or dread,
All of you keep pointing,
Pointing finger on each other, 
And lastly perhaps blaming me,
The goddess of fate."

She laughed dryly at the word she just said, looking directly at a blind maiden in silver that was about to meet t Deity Of Darkness. The loose bandage overflow as the wind running through her. Even the wind is trying to flee away from the presence of Deity Darkness. 

"But why you keep pouring the fate...even though it may lead torment on them?"

The goddess of fate glance behind her, a small soul in human figure standing,  looking directly on her that filled with questioning gaze. She simply laughed back at the child.

In this galaxy, the goddess is not actually alone as she has another peculiar soul need to deal it. The wilfulness of it, brimming persistently, eager to caught goddess attention. 

"Young man, fate is necessary to create every existence, no fate, no story, no story, no life," She continues. " Everything must have it and they just received it....but you, the sentient creature with knowledge and mind of your own, are special because you can choose it."

" The path can lead to what people always said, whether to a happy ending or bad ending. But honestly, there is no such thing as the concept of true ending. The world simply rotates just like a cycle, repeat and repeat,  till then...on the judgment day...but, if that happens, the world simply reborn and created again...Where there was an ending it means for a beginning of something again."

She smiles at the child of man and brings his soul in her hand closer to her. 

"But I don't think you care those stuff at all, do you?" She said calmly. "After all, all that you want is...to be near to her." 

"If you know then send me, reborn me to the place, nearest to her. Let me be forever with her."

"But young man--"

"My name is Shinchirou...not young man since I already died in old age."

"That kind of attitude won't bring you anywhere as far as I concern, well, at least your sister know her place."

" SHUT UP! I WANT TO BE WITH HER! NO ONE CAN STOP ME, NO ONE SHOULD STOP ME GETTING BACK TO HER!"

"SILENCE MORTAL."

The slipping from her still smiling lips slowly turn into a frowning, silence the impatient soul named Shinchirou. 

"I already reborn you to the world, not to mention, right next to her."

"What?"

"Foolish, should I repeat?"

"But I don't remember, I thought I just died today, on my patient bed!"

"Unfortunately, you already were reborn in my world three years now without memory of your past life. Your body is having imbalance mana occasion, causing your soul slowly slipping in my void again. Simply to say, you slowly dying inside her arms right now."

The soul trembles in shock, disbelief he's about to die again. 

"Don't lose hope right now foolish one, do you think she will let you die easily?"

".....her?" He looks up to Goddess.

Goddess of Fate only sigh in helpless and point her finger on the earth. Directly on Selena that still patiently awaiting for Deity Of Darkness to come. 

"Tsukina..."

"While you enjoying seeing her again, let me remind you. 'Forever' is a subject that cannot be applied to you currently."

Break from the trance of seeing Selena, the soul completely unfazed and staring right back at the Goddess of Fate fearlessly.

"Then how about we make a deal?" The goddess said with intention playing in her mind. "Since you 'o spirit, abandon your previous world voluntarily and I admired it."

"Currently my world is still having war, narrow-mind creature trampling every other creature life carelessly,  if this keep continues on, might as well this world need to be destroyed and I have to create another one."

"So you soul that coming from the peaceful era, do everything you could to bring my world into a harmonious era. Confront it,  destroy it, tear the bleakness of despair from my world.  And I shall grant you to be rightfully next to her, forever. "

"Promise me, Goddess."

"In the name of Euphirean, God's god."

Selena's POV

The wind running through me and bring me chiliness as I sneeze. The world is now silence the only thing I could hear is the beating of my anxious heart together with Ao's weaken breath. 

In the world of only darkness, suddenly a trail of warm flicker light appeared along the road at the far distance before me. Without recognition of it, the trail of the light stop before me. Something is coming here, I raise my head and squint my eyes to see a figure cover in dark masses is coming toward me with a relaxed manner. As it gradually coming closer, the swirling dark masses around him move and I can see a pair of crimson eyes staring at me.

We did not break our eye contact till we met face to face, I know I supposed to be shaking in fear by his presence, but honestly, it doesn't shake me up unlike during meeting goddess of fate. I did not wait and step forward, but I guess moving without a warning is making the being before me also flinched in surprise manner. 

"Umm...are you...Deity of Darkness?"

"...."

Concern by his silence I wave my hand before him. He did not even blink, should I poke his eyes? My, that would be rude. I scold my inner mischieve heart. But if he did not do anything, Ao will....

"Deity of Darkness....please save my Ao."
