Selena's POV

I only stare at the same oversize, ball of flame silently, unable to said anything after receives an unexpected outcome...Excuse moi!?Σ(っﾟДﾟ；)っ

I frantically shake my head in slow speed, determined to denied my new title. That's way too inapproriate, I am still a child not to mention I am disable  and do not have enough strenght to take care everything especially an egg that was about to hatch. Oh my god, how big is that egg is? How am I able to find food for him? Is that mean I have to change it's diaper too!? 

"I--can't...!" When it hear my half-sentence of rejection, the ball of flame viciously roar at me that instantly shut me up. I really mean it!!o(╥﹏╥)o

"When I said you are the one! Then you shall take care of it!" It huffed impatiently as it release a cloud of smoke directly on me. "Until the time has come."

I coughed.

But why me?  I stumble down,  since when did I stand up? It must be nervousness I supposed, before I was able to refute a rush of wind push me again that I roll over by the pressure.  But this time, it was another glowing light came over next to the fire orb. The light have brilliant colors of neon feathers in darkness, I was relieve when I see 'her'.

"Deity of All-Eye-Know. " A previous grumpy female voices said with a respectful tone.

"There is no need introduction, Albanesse, the Golden Flame Dragon." Deity All-Eye-Know said calmly. "However I do need an explanation for you putting a task on my dear child. "

Deity of All-Eye-Know's POV

"I apologize for my rudeness, but your child!? " The white dragon before me was surprised, jaw drop for she never heard it before. I only sigh and lay down near to little Selena, I already decide it at the day she was going to live around me. She will never be harm and mislead with under my watch.

I was fortunate to be able return immediately when I sense a wave of new and even raw magic came at the near of my area. I should have expect when Albanesse planned to lay it on my nest, but still,  never I predict she easily give this child a role as a mother.

Dragon are really fierce when it came taking care of youngling as they are their pride and prove of their existence, so I look down at the egg with the shell made of smooth silver and crystal of Sapphire glow, I supposed it already began its life as I can see the soul inside the egg was beating slowly.

But, the color of that soul are nothing resemble like its mother, Albanesse. Inside of the egg swirl gentle light of stars that I cannot help but seem familiar with this kind of description.  Anyhow, It seem I have found the answer, so I look up at the serious expression of the white dragon.

"You trouble by it, I supposed? " I said. "Different essence can ruin this unborn youngling growth after all."

"I admit,  I'm not a suitable mother to be the one to raise it. However, I will promise that I will taking my little one back after the sun eaten moon for at least tenth time, that will ensure my baby's mana essence to withstand mine presence."

" It does sound a brilliant, safety plan. Somehow I should have remind you that my dear child are currently not in a good state to taking care of such a fragile thing. I'm sorry I have to disappoint you. "I patiently said. I felt a rather confuse feeling of wave emit beside me and of course it was belong the little dear child of mine that suddenly slowly making steps to the egg direction.

Both of us decide to watch as Selena stumble upon the egg by her knocking toe, she hissed in pain but then forget instantly when her palm covered with bandages smoothly rub the eggshell.

"Mother... "Selena called me. " Are we going abandon it? "

As she said it, the surrounding area brewing as the fog of the forest swirling around. It bring alert upon us, this is not good. She was brimming with confusion to sadness, something trigger her inside as this time she turn her head at Albanesse.

"You... How can you.... said that.. Easily? " Selena gasp each time she let out a few words, she rarely talk a lot unless she felt it was important. It could be because she was sad with Albanesse decision to abandon her own child.

Albanesse however, stake a pride upon her title and force herself held her head high to the moon. It cannot hidden well as suddenly the tears dripping from the pair of golden eyes and look down at the bandage child. I just stares at the scene without interrupted both of them

"A mother always know the best for their youngling. If you knew what is a pain, then you understand how it felt. Especially a mother that supposed having her very first child. " Albanesse growled at Selena.

Selena fell silent, conflicting with the words came from Albanesse herself. Her hand went to her face as she tugged the bandage, clench her teeth with hostility.

"I'm a first... child too, " the wind around us whipping noisily, waving her bandage to uncover her head, expose the old wound that yet still continue to heal. " they...abandon me too, what's different? Lacking... necessity?"

Something snapped inside Albanesse too as she open her jaws to lounge at Selena, since I know this was about to happen. I stopped her(Albanesse) movement with only a glare emitting from my mask.

While Albanesse was petrified under my glare, Selena still stood with the egg next to her, still caress the egg with familiar feeling.

"Albanesse, from your reaction, there are something more reason you unable to tell us? " The dragon were avoiding my contact with the whimper a bit. Brought both of me and Selena surprise by her change attitude.

When the fiery inside her soul finally calm down from the rage. I let off the gaze by closing my eyes and decide to listen what is her hidden thought. 

"Tell the truth Alba, the dragon never proud with dishonest ability. "

With that, Albanesse finally confess her problem to us regarding situation that happen in her continent currently. Humans, elves, dwarves, and many other races start to targeting dragons clan recently and it wasn't that bad until the first Demon Revolution World War appear.

"All of them eager to have us whether for our impenetrable scales, magic essence, breeding purpose, enslavement..." Albanesse continue listed the disaster have fallen upon her race that had been through all this time,  the painfulness seep to Selena as she also began to understand situation. She regret to throw accusations on Albanesse and apologize while lower her head, hiding the burn mark.

"Enslavement are not suppose to happen unless a dragon against a hundred numbers."

" Indeed, even against a baby need half of it, but we dragon clan know where to hide our younglings into a best and safe place that created by our first dragon king. The Guardian kept them well too,  even it might cost their life sometimes. "

"Nursery? "Selena abruptness makes both of us stare at her for a while that she end up laugh awkwardly and then continue her own business by rubbing the surface of the egg. I shake my head in hopelessly, Selena does say some weird stuff under my care and I cannot help but to peek her mind by asking her later.  She does told me she is not from this world, I do believe her. No one can lied when I'm around after all.

"...continue to our conversation, somebody create a troublesome spell that we dragon cannot even avoid it for the first time. "

I narrow my eyes at her,  knowing what her meaning.  I recently have felt a power that work like a chain searching for its prey, we are the preys.  Although it was not powerful enough to drag me but any creature below me might already taken.

"They called it summoning spell. " Albanesse spat angrily. "Century ago, it could only summon small lesser creature, but their spell improve more years by years,  many sacrifice were taken. "

"I know Albanesse, I'd see it by myself how they summon it. " I said.

In order to summon stronger creature the sacrifice such as significant number of living things need to be make. Demon use humans, Humans use demon or even among themselves. The earth already soak with innocent blood, as the darkness eager color the ages that we live currently.  I'm afraid this might be also trigger Selena anger toward the world. 

I look down at my child,  stroking the shell softly like a fragile thing. However the beating of soul caught me by surprise as I look into the egg. The orb of soul inside the egg increasingly brighter than before  that suddenly the air filled with the crispy cracking sound.

I immediately pull Selena away by pulling her collar with my beak. At the right time, the shard of eggshell flew right after the burst. The spreading of disaster continue when the yolk of the egg spilling out,  dirtying my nest.... An awful stench indeed.

All of us froze on the spot with Selena still hang in my beak, clueless as she cannot determine the situation right now. Albanesse with an obvious reaction,  drop a wide open jaw when she saw a skinny little dragon crawled out with some mewl.

"It hatch..." Alba said in awestruck.

"It hatch, indeed. " I said calmly, unfortunately I'm not that entirely excited though.

"It hatch?" as usual, only Selena blurt out in a spur moment.

"Mama~" A dragon open with its crystal sapphire eyes and instantly cried out when it saw Selena. Crawling excitedly toward us with it still trembling-like state.

Alba without a second thought,  she shamelessly pull out the book from her special dimensional space, put it smoothly next to us and instantly flew away like nothing happen.

I look down at the book and screaming internally at my own new problem sprout like an annoying sea of munshroom.
