Strawberries

It was finally lunch time, and it turned out Kyung Mi had ordered, and had lunch delivered. The boys ended up sitting on the floor in the practice room, while we sat at the table in what I had decided to call the radio room. Needless to say, lunch was delicious.

~♡~

After lunch, the boys continued practicing, while Mi Ok and I went to our hair/make up room, so she could help me pack my bag to take to the show. It wasn't too difficult, because everything I would be using for Tae was all together. The make up for his skin tone, and the lip tint he preferred, anything I would need for him, were all already in my area, so all I had to do was transfer it to the bag.

Once that was done, we went to the dressing room and Mi Ok checked on their outfits, which were all bagged up and ready to be taken to the venue. She explained that they would be picked up and delivered by a courier service that was regularly used.

We headed back to the practice room and walked in to see all the boys leaning, hands on their knees, catching their breath. They looked exhausted. Tae and Jimin each had a small towel hanging around their neck.

"Guys, lets take a 15 minute break." RM said, straightening up and stretching his arms over his head.

Tae walked towards me, pulling the towel off, and when he stopped in front of me, I took the towel from his hand, and wiped the sweat from his face and neck. It still made me slightly dizzy being this close to him, and having this responsibility.

"You look worn out."

"A little. It helps knowing that we get to be done by 6, though," he said, still breathing hard. " I was thinking later we could get something for dinner, maybe eat at your place."

"Yeah, sure. That would be nice." My heart sped up at the mention of having dinner at my place. Spending time together, just the two of us, was something I didn't think I'd ever get enough of, and since I didn't have all that much time, I was going to take all I could get.

" Okay, I'll order closer to when we'll be finished, there's a place a couple buildings down that has amazing kimchi fried rice. We can just grab it when we leave here, and take it to your apartment. I don't feel like dealing with the public today."

"Sounds great."

RM had indicated that break was over, and Taehyung took a breath, and headed back to the dance floor.

I went into the radio room, and sat at the table with the other girls.

"Hey Laney, how has it been, working with Taehyung?" Sang Hee asked, smiling at me.

I hesitated for a second, not sure what I wanted to say. I was sure all these girls realized how drop dead gorgeous all these men were, but they were also all married. I also wasn't mentioning that he had asked me to be his girlfriend, because I didn't know if he wanted them, or anyone, to know. I knew he wasn't supposed to get involved with his stylist, he'd told me that himself.

"Uh, he's great. He's super nice, and he's made me feel comfortable enough. I like working with him."

They all looked at me, then at each other, and giggled. I looked at each of them, and they all had goofy  grins on their faces.

"Silly girl," Mi Ok said,  the single dimple appearing as she smiled at me. "Don't you know he likes you?"

"Yeah, it's as plain as the nose on my face. Girl, he's got it bad for you." Soo Yun chimed in.

I looked from one to the other of them, and Hei Ran laughed. "It's not a bad thing. At least you have a chance. You're the only one of us that isn't married."

"I thought they weren't supposed to get involved with their stylists." I said, not expecting the replies I got.

"They aren't, but I can tell you right now that if Big Hit hired stylists that weren't married, It would no doubt happen. I mean, we are closer to them than we are with our husbands." Kyung Mi said, tilting her head and giving me a tight lipped smile.

"So, are you saying that because I'm not married..."

"It wouldn't surprise me one bit if you two ended up together." Sang Hee answered.

"But won't he get in trouble, if he's not supposed to get involved with me?"

"They don't want the boys getting involved with anyone, but they can't stop them. They only hire stylists that are married because that way, they can't get involved with us. Sejin might advise against it if he finds out, but that's the worst that will happen. I mean, what are they going to do, kick him out of BTS?" Yung mi said, snorting.

"Maybe they would just fire me." I said worriedly.

"Even if they did, it wouldn't stop Taehyung from being with you if he wanted to, so it wouldn't do them any good to fire you, plus, then they would have to find someone to replace you."

"Oh."

"Don't worry, Laney, you're not going to get fired." Mi Ok said, rubbing my shoulder.

I wasn't so sure. But seeing as how I was here by God's doing, I probably was worrying for nothing.

"So, do you two have plans later?" Soo Yun asked, widening her eyes.

"What?"

"I heard him ask you if you wanted to get dinner later and take it to your place." Mi Ok said, ducking her head guiltily. "I wasn't eavesdropping, I had stopped to ask Suga if he needed anything, and we were close enough that I heard. He may have heard too."

I drew in a breath, pressing my lips together and exhaling thru my nose.

"It's okay Laney, all those boys have quietly gone on dates, trust me. They aren't going to say anything." Yung Mi reassured me.

I wasn't really worried, because of course Tae and I dating was supposed to happen, I just wasn't sure how transparent it was supposed to be, and I didn't want it to cause any problems for him. But these were my co-workers, and I had a feeling I could trust them. Besides, I needed girlfriends to talk to.

"Actually, Tae was at my apartment with me last night when the power went off. He stayed with me until it came back on."

Hei Ran and Soo Yun grabbed each others hands and squealed.

"Did anything happen? Did he kiss you?" Hei Ran asked excitedly.

I tried to hold back a smile, biting my lip and looking at the table.

"Oh my God, he did, didn't he?" Soo Yun said, her hand coming up to cover her mouth.

I glanced up to see all 6 of them smiling at me, and I didn't admit anything, but I didn't deny it either.

"This is so great Laney. You have no idea. We have wished for Taehyung to find a nice girl for the past year. He needs someone to make him smile every day. He looks so sad sometimes." Kyung Mi said, reaching across the table and grabbing my hand. "You are perfect for him, and we can all clearly see how much he likes you."

I closed my eyes, not sure whether to be happy or upset. I was thrilled to hear that they could see how much Taehyung liked me, because that just clarified what I'd been told about him asking me to be his girlfriend. But it also made my heart ache, because it just made me that much more certain that Tae was going to end up hurt. I hated this.

"It's overwhelming, isn't it? You knew BTS before you were hired as a stylist, yes?" Sang Hee asked.

I nodded. "I did. I'm a huge fan. I didn't know I would be working for Big Hit when I applied though, I just applied for a job as a stylist." It seemed better to just go with that lie, since I'd already told it.

"Oh wow, so how shocked were you when you found out?"

I thought back to my conversation with God.

"I couldn't believe it. I thought I was having an amazing dream that I would wake up from any minute."

Mi Ok smiled. "I hope you're here for a long time Laney, I really like you."

"Me too," Soo Yun said, "but I still wanna know if Tae kissed her."

They all looked at me expectantly, waiting for an answer. I smiled shyly, and nodded. They squealed collectively, and Jin actually poked his head in and asked if we were okay, causing everyone to turn and look at him.

Sang Hee nodded and waved him away, and he left, a confused look on his face. They waited a minute to make sure he was gone, then they all looked at me again.

"How was it?"

"Did you Die?"

"Are his lips as soft as they look?"

Does he taste like strawberries?"

"Did he slip you any tongue?"

"Was that all that happened?"

They were all asking questions at the same time, and I had no idea which question was coming from who, so I could only sit there, trying to decipher everything so I could answer them. When they were finally quiet, I simply said "It was amazing, and yes."

They all smiled, big cheesy smiles. I shook my head at them, but It felt good to know that I could talk to them.

I heard someone clear their throat, and I glanced up to see Tae standing in the door, arms crossed, smiling at me. Well shit. I wondered how much he'd heard.

He walked towards me, one eyebrow raised, and the girls watched with lowered gazes, trying not to make it obvious.

He came right up behind my chair, his hands resting on my shoulders, and I caught Hei Ran's face from the corner of my eye, and the smile she was trying to hold back.

"So, my lips are soft and they taste like strawberries?"

I bit my lip. Damn it.

I felt his hands gently squeeze my shoulders. He leaned down, his lips right at my ear.

"I need you for a minute," he whispered, as if no one else could hear.

He backed up as I slid my chair out, and stood, turning to him, expecting him to walk away so I could follow him. I was shocked and pleasantly surprised when he instead bent his head and kissed me softly, one hand going around my waist, the other coming up to caress my cheek.

When he pulled back, I was flustered, to say the least. I could only imagine the looks on the girls faces right now.

"We'll be done in about 30 minutes. I'm ordering dinner right now. Just wanted to let you know in case there's anything you need to do before we leave."

I nodded, afraid to try and speak. He smiled, and rubbed his thumb over my cheek one more time, then backed away and went back to the practice room.

I stood there for a minute, not moving. When I finally turned around, they were all looking at me, their mouths opened in shock, eyes wide.

"Oh my..." Kyung Mi mumbled.

"Sorry Laney," Soo Yun said quietly. "We didn't know he was there."

I waved my hand. "It's okay."

Hei Ran snorted. "I'd be on the floor right now if he had just kissed me..."

"I almost was," I breathed. "It's a good thing it was just a quick kiss."

They all laughed, and stood up.

"We should straighten up a bit before they finish." Kyung Mi said, grabbing the trash from the table and throwing it into the bin. She grabbed her chair and turned it upside down to place on the table. We all did the same, making sure the ones that were empty were flipped up too so the cleaning person could sweep and mop without anything in the way.

We all moved to the edge of the practice room, watching the boys finish up their last practice for the day. As the music faded, all the girls moved towards their charges, taking their towels and wiping the sweat from their faces.

They all looked exhausted.

"We're done here for today. You girls can go home. Enjoy your evenings, and we'll see you tomorrow." RM said, smiling at all of us.

They all started to wander towards the door, guys included, and I followed. Tae fell into step beside me. "I'm gonna go get a quick shower, then we'll get going. Wait for me in the lounge, ok?"

I nodded, smiling happily at the thought of spending another evening with him, this time maybe not in the dark.
