The voice in the depths
Back in St. Freya academy, a bright flash erupted in one of the academy's signature teleport rooms, revealing a wet-haired Rex with a grin on his face while his older brother, Reve, patted the body of his partner, Metagross.
"So, your quota for the week is done?"
"Yep! I already finished my ground-type specialization certificate,"
"Good, you know, you can go to the advanced courses, right? Your ground-type team is terrifying," Reve said with a shiver as he remembered how a pair of dragon-ground Pokemon on Rex's team demolished a competition a while back. To think Rex's starter was around the same level as... well, considering how his and Rein's starters were...
"I already have an advanced license for a Pokemon type," Rex said with a smile while his Swampert nodded. "I only wanted a license for ground types for my next ruins exploration," Rex said with a smile.
"You brats, where have you been?!" A familiar voice belonging to a young woman that was a part of their nuclear family.
Bountiful red hair bounced with each step as Professor Himeko approached them, followed by her partner, a Delphox/
"I was surfing on the storm beach," Rex replied with a cheeky smirk. "Rein was flirting with some sexy ladies on the beach," Reve turned to his younger brother with wide eyes only for the both of them to yelp in pain as Himeko reached and pinched their ears.
"Big sis!"
"This is Child abuse! Get this old hag off me!"
"An old hag, huh? I helped change your diapers, you brat!" Himeko roared while grinding her knuckles on Rex's head while Reve.
"Say, Rita," The younger brother immediately approached the psychic-type specialist to.
"Sorry, Reve. But I have things to do."
"HAH! YOU EVEN INHERITED THIS OLD HAG— NO STOP!" in the background, Rex can be seen getting Boston Crab-ed by Professor Himeko.
"Yeah... those two are my brother and surrogate sister," Reinhardt said as he stood with Elysia on the second floor of the teleport room. Elysia giggled sweetly as she spotted the two before turning to Reinhardt.
"You all have the same hair color," She whispered.
"Yup!"
"GET A DATE FIRST! OW! OW! STOP! DON'T FUCKING JOIN IN, REVE!"

Dressed in regular clothes, Rex winced as he sat on the chair in front of Himeko's desk.
"Are you sure about this, Rex?" Himeko asked. Gone was the annoyed young woman, replaced by the caring older sister who helped raise him. "You know you already have the license and certificate for ground-type Specialization. If you get the advanced license then you can work in Gyms and other facilities as a ground-type trainer,"
"I know, but I already have an advanced license and certificate like Rein and Reve," Rex said, looking at the symbol on his trainer ID. The primary affinity that he and his brothers along with his entire family shared.
"I know, but Rex..."
"I'm searching for the sea temple, the one known as Atlantis," Rex said with a smile, remembering how he first saw that place.
Rex, with a rebreather in his mouth, held onto his Swampert as the underwater currents surged and increased. His grip loosened a bit and when he was about to slip, a Wailord managed to push him into a place, Atlantis, an underwater temple created from an unknown dimension that now drifts on the underwater currents.
"I don't doubt that," Himeko said as she looked at Rex, the youngest Crozzo rarely lied and he never lied when it came to important things. Atlantis existed and Rex arrived there last year. As a ground-type trainer trapped underwater with only one Pokemon capable of navigating underwater, it was a death sentence if he slipped. "If that's what you want,"
"Besides, I already got an offer for the next Archaeology expedition so I won't make it to the next certification exam."
"I'm putting you on a special type-specialization class," Himeko said with a smile and Rex looked at her. "You'll only keep your Swampert on your water-type specialist team, right?"
"Swampert and a Seadra,"
"Do you have a team in mind?"
"I do, it's well-balanced,"
"Good, the class you're in is special. I'll take you there,"
"Maybe the reason why you're single is because you're a slob,"
"Himeko style: La Chancla attack,"
"WAIT NO!"

Reve sighed while looking at his Metagross. The steel-type said nothing but Reve knew it understood him. After all, while he was not his starter, Metagross always had his back.
"You think I'll ever have a girlfriend, you guys?"
A Lucario, his partner and starter, looked at him before shaking its head. A Scizor did the same before moving a checker piece with its claw while a Corviknight perched nearby stared at him. Magnezone floated on the ground lazily, while an Aegislash turned away with its body shaking as if it was trying to hide its laughter.
"I WANT A GIRLFRIEND!"
"Reve?" In an instant, the depressed and lazy steel-type specialist looked presentable and sat on his bed as the door opened, revealing...
"Oh, hey, Shenhe," Shenhe, a beautiful young woman with long ice-white hair entered his room followed by a Frosslass. Like his older brother, Shenhe is an ice-type specialist with an advanced license similar to his steel-typing. "Something wrong?"
"I need some help with a week-long expedition in Hokkaido to catch a new ice type for my team and research,"
"Cool, I'll talk to Rein. What are you hunting for?"
"An Abosmanow for Professor Price and a Cubchoo,"
"Sure, wait a sec." Taking his phone out, Reve texted his brother while Shenhe approached his mini-fridge before taking a bottle of iced tea. "Rein can take us there with his Cloyster,"
Shenhe quietly nodded while drinking the iced tea. Froslass approached the floating Aegislash.
"Reinhardt will soon have a master license exam for ice-types, right?"
"Yep! Hard to believe Rein's affinity and skills with ice types are strong enough. Is Yelan gonna join us?" The water-type specialist and Shenhe were often always seen together and their teamwork was strong. Very strong.
"No, Yelan is back in China to check up on some of her family members,"
"Anyone else?"
"Just us," Hearing this, Reve paled. After all, Shenhe was one of the girls he used to flirt with. A LOT. It even came to the point where he accidentally walked in on her changing and got turned into a popsicle while Rex watched him thaw very slowly.
'I'm dead.'
His Lucaro looked at him and Shenhe before shrugging only to use a checker piece to take a lot of Scizor's pieces.

"Shigure, come on!" Jack Crozzo, an adoptive member of the Crozzo family sighed while getting dragged around by one Shigure Kira. The electric-type specialist normally would have been overjoyed with spending time with the one he simps for but his recent adventures left him tired.
In contrast, his idol friend(?), ignored him and dragged him around to follow Cecilia and Siegfried's date. Maybe he can buy something for his adoptive daughter?

Reinhardt blinked as he looked at the notice on his phone.
WARNING: A HYDREIGON HAS APPEARED AND RAMPAGING NEARBY, CAUTION IS ADVISED.
Elysia looked at him and without missing a beat, the fairy-type Specialist's partner, a Gardevoir, looked at her.
Before the Fairy Pokemon and trainer can react just as the Hydreigon approached them, a black blur ran through the crowd and punched the dark-dragon pseudo-legendary Pokemon with an ice-covered fist.
"Wea!" Reinhardt's Weaville fearlessly stood in front of the Dark Dragon.
"Hone claws and finish it with Night slash," Reinhardt cooly (pun intended) ordered and the small Dark-ice type disappeared with a black blur and struck the Pseudo-Legendary with enough force to send it reeling back a few meters before falling on the ground.
"Ville! Wea!"
Elysia watched the small dark and ice-type with wide eyes. Night Slash has a high-critical ratio but the way that small Pokemon attacked showed an experience with fighting Dragon types. An ice punch to weaken it and a hone-claws-enhanced Night slash combo.
As Elysia analyzed the scene, Reinhardt fearlessly approached the Brutal Pokemon and gently reached into his pocket for some berries. "Here you go," with gentle ease, the Ice-type specialist fed the weakened dragon while the Weaville ominously honed its claws, daring the Brutal Pokemon to hurt its trainer. "Poor guy, a toothache, huh?"
"Oh dear," Elysia approached Rein and released an Audino. "Sweetie, can you please use heal pulse on this poor Hydreigon?"
"Audino!"
As the Pseudo-legendary slowly healed, Reinhardt gently injected something into its jaw and it released some pleased growls before nuzzling one of its heads on the young man. "Yeah, I know that feeling. Come on, let's get you to the clinic,"
"Hy!"
Elysia watched the ice-type specialist expertly calm and control the Pseudo-legendary, focusing on his smile. 'Cute,' she thought. Her Gardevoir looked at her with wide eyes and at Reinhardt before rubbing her eyes.

Hey guys! This is a new chapter, we now reveal Rex's type specializations, he's a water and ground specialist and it seems like he likes teasing his surrogate sister.
I might change this fic to base it on one of the mainline regions. I never played any Pokemon games past Black 2. My favorite gen is Gen 3, Hoenn trumpets baby! Since I have a switch now, I might buy the new games if I have the money but who knows?
Which region do you want this fic to be on?
Speaking of which, how do you like a slow-burn romance between one of the Crozzos and their love interests?
