While in Castle Town
(Y/N)'s P.O.V.
I was walking with Link, Midna, and Epona through the fields heading towards Castle Town. I must admit, I was a bit nervous inside, but luckily, no one could tell, well except for Epona.
During the ride to Castle Town, she would glance at me. Dang these animal instincts. I'm pretty sure I would be questioned later.
When we arrived at the bridge leading to Castle Town, Link got off Epona and placed her near a large stone post.
"Are you coming, (Y/N)?" Link asked as he patted Epona before leaving. I simply shook my wolf head, "no".
"Of course she's not going," Midna said with that sassy tone of hers. "If the townsfolk saw a wolf in there, they would freak out and panic."
"Oh, right," Link said with a down face. "Well, we won't take too long. I just need to find some materials and we'll be on our way."
Link and Midna crossed the bridge leading into Castle Town leaving Epona and me behind.
"So," the female horse started, "I noticed that ever since they mentioned Castle Town, you've been a little off. Care to explain?"
I simply rested myself on a patch of grass and looked towards the dark sky. "Well, considering that I haven't known you for too long, not really. No hard feelings or anything, Epona. I know that your intentions aren't bad, it's just that the topic itself isn't something I'm comfortable with."
I heard Epona start sweeping the dirt with her hooves. "I understand. But if you ever need someone to talk to, (Y/N), you know which horse will be here."
"Thanks, Epona," I said gratefully.

"Thank you for you purchase," the merchant smiled as I paid for the bombs and arrows for my journey.
"Thank you for supplying them," I said to the man. "By the way," I started, "Do you happen to know where I could get my sword sharpened? Or perhaps a place that sells good weapons?"
The salesman pondered for awhile and it seemed that a lightbulb struck him, but then seemed to turn off.
"We did have a place like that awhile back," the man said.
"Oh?" I said as I suddenly became quite curious and interested in this shop. "Do you know what happened to it?"
The man shook his head lightly. "Unfortunately, no one knows what happened. There have been many rumors about the place, but the main one is that the owners were associated with dark magic."
"Dark magic?" I questioned the salesman.
"Yeah, it was such a shame too. The owners were really nice. They had a daughter who would always walk around the plaza and help people just for the heck of it. They really were nice people, but they were accused of dark magic. So apparently they ran away. Some people say that they were killed. Some say that the family escaped to the woods. But now one really knows."
"Link, let's get out of here," Midna said as she motioned towards the door, "We can't always have your shopping sprees turn into gossip sessions."
Midna did have a point. But something about this story just stuck to me. I wanted to find out more.
"Do you happen to recall the family's last name?" I asked.
The man scratched his chin, "It was (L/N) I believe."
"Thank you," I said as I left the shop and entered the plaza. Midna followed behind me and started to nag me for wasting time in the shop talking about irrelevant things.
"I don't even know why you wasted time talking about that missing family, Link. During that time, we could've been making our way to finding the next part of the fused shadows."
"Midna," I spoke calmly, "Does it not interest you in the tiniest bit? A family that just magically disappeared. A family that was associated with dark magic? Maybe if we can find them, they can assist us with our journey."
"Pffft," Midna mocked, "It seems like a ridiculous myth to me."
I let Midna think her thoughts, but with everything that has happened so far--light spirits, a shadow imp, a mystic wolf, and the ability of me to even transform into a wolf--a missing family with dark magic isn't that strange.

Elina...
Elina...
Elina...
It was the name chosen by my parents to name our tribe because we wanted to keep our last names hidden. The word Elina was the opposite of what people associated my family with.
I looked over to see that Epona had fallen asleep waiting for Link. So I took this as my chance. I got up on all fours and made my way towards Castle Town.
