So We Meet Again

Dang.

That moment when you realize you haven't updated in almost a month. So very sorry. But anyway...

This story may be starting to stray away from the game in later chapters though there will be some aspects that are similar.

Link's P.O.V.

"Took you long enough," Midna whined as I finally finished the forest temple and collecting a piece of her fused shadow.

"I'm sorry, Midna," I apologized, "but how can I work when you're always nagging my every move?" I asked.

She simply rolled her eyes because she knew I was right.

"Let's just get out of here, Link," Midna said. She finally learned my name once I became a human again.

I exited the forest in human form and walked past the spring seeing the light spirit of Ordon. I then remembered the wolf that helped to make me human. I never did get to thank the wolf myself. What was her name again? (Y/N) I believe?

"Link," Midna said as she snapped me out of my thoughts, "Geez, you space out way too much if you ask me. C'mon, Link, my sources tell me the next place is Kakariko Village."

Obliging, we left Ordon Village. As soon as we were at Hyrule Field, I called for Epona and we rode off to the village. But as soon as we got there, a blockade stopped us from entering.

Midna's shadow appeared in front of me, "Looks like you're going to have to dig under that, Link. Transform now."

I reluctantly transformed being that the process was somewhat painful. Once I was a wolf, I dug under the barricade and went into the twilight-covered Kakariko Village.

I walked until a barrier from the sky dropped down enclosing me.
I mentally cursed. I hated fighting the shadow creatures that came along with it.

"Just follow my lead," Midna commanded. Using that mystic hand of hers, I created a dark circle placing three of the shadow creatures under my target. Unfortunately, I had been attacked while doing so. I flinched at the pain.

"Link, wait!" Midna shouted a bit too late. I had already attacked the three shadow creatures assuming everything was alright.
"Idiot, there was one more!" Midna said as my wolf eyes widened. For sure, the shadow creature was going to screech to revive its fallen, something I learned facing these things the first time.

The shadow creature took a stance and was about to scream the horrid screech.

I wouldn't be able to take them on again. Not now. I wasn't accustomed to taking in much pain yet. I was just learning how to endure it.

Just then, a flash of an elegant bluish-white light attacked the shadow creature with such grace and precision.

The barrier had lifted. My eyes met with a pair of golden ones. On their neck, they wore a tear of light.

"So we meet again," (Y/N) said.

Thankfully, I had learned how to communicate with other animals, "Indeed we have, (Y/N)," I replied to the wolf.

She walked over to me.

"Nice to meet you again, (Y/N)," Midna said with an actual smile, "If you weren't here to save this idiot's butt, I'm sure we would have been toast."

(Y/N) smiled. I never knew it was possible for animals to smile.

"So what are you doing here?" Midna continued.

(Y/N)'s P.O.V.

"So what are you doing here?" Midna asked.

"I just happened to be passing by," I replied casually. Which was a lie. Being that the light spirit gave me tear of light, I felt obliged to help these too. I followed these two actually. Judging by the wolf and the first time I saw him, he really didn't look ready to face the twilight himself. And besides, these two might be of great use to me later.
"Is that so?" Midna replied. I simply nodded.

The male wolf finally decided to speak. "Wait, didn't you give us the tear of light awhile back? Why are you wearing one right now?"

Not feeling like telling him the whole story I simply said, "Let's just say a deity gave it to me for doing good deeds so that I wouldn't have to take tears from anywhere else on Hyrule."

He opened his mouth to speak. Probably to ask more about it but I quickly made another statement. "I never did get your name. If I may ask, what is it?"

His face seeming to forget completely about how I received the tear. He smiled, "Link."

"Link," I said as I took in this information, "I'm sure we'll eventually be good friends. But for now, we are acquaintances."

Midna giggled at my remark, "Well that's the first time I have ever heard of something like that."

There's was a moment of silence. "So..." I said to break it, "What's next after this?"

"Well," Midna said as she took a sleeping position in the air, "We're going to see the broken spirit of light and find the tears and--"

"Mind if I come along?" I asked.

Link's ears perked up, probably by surprise. "No offense or anything, but why would you want to do that?"

"Just let her help, Link," Midna said, "Besides, it looks like you need it anyway."

Link frowned and stopped questioning me.

"Now let's go find the spirit and tears," Midna said.

After, collecting the tears and reviving the spirits, we left the village. Link was now in his human form, riding atop Epona, as I followed alongside them.

"We are heading to Castle Town next," Midna said as she followed Link."

I felt myself drop inside. Castle Town? Did we really need to pass by there? I can't set myself in there. Not after what happened so long ago.

Author's Note (Please Read)

So sorry for the brief chapter, but hey, at least I finally updated. So I'm planning after this chapter, to not mention anything about tears and fused shadows unless I need to. But just remember that even if I don't mention them, the characters are still collecting them throughout the book. I feel I need to focus more on the relationship between Link and you rather than the other things. Anyways, have fun ^_^

Oh! And happy Halloween! While people will be trick-or-treating I'll either be:
1) doing homework/studying
2) writing stories
or
3) making a video

I haven't gone trick-or-treating in like six years, which was like since sixth grade. How about you guys?
