Along the Journey
(Y/N)'s P.O.V.
I sat waiting for Link to retrieve the next group of tears. I was getting rather bored actually, staying in this wolf form of mine. Ever since I finally transformed back to my human form, I've been itching to get out of my wolf skin. I mean, sure, there are some perks to being a wolf, but being human is fun too. But then I remember...I'm supposed to be missing or maybe even dead to the people of Castle Town.
But wait, that's just Castle Town. Perhaps I did have some leeway to transforming to my human form.
As if reading my thoughts, Epona, with her majestic glory, let a out a soft neigh.
"You seem to be thinking about something serious," she said as she galloped small circles around me, "What is it?"
I lifted my wolf head to meet her gaze. I suddenly realized that she didn't know I could transform into a human being that she was asleep at the time.
I spoke calmly and sighed, "I'm just wondering what's taking the two so long. That's all," I said with my best lying tone, "Do you think they'll be back soon?"
Epona raised her head to look at the sky. She actually bought my excuse.
"I assume they'll be back soon. Link never takes longer than he should on his journeys."
I frowned and started digging at the dirt. "You stay here, Epona, I'm going to look for them."
Before Epona could even question my actions, I had leapt into the air and dashed away as far as possible.
Running through the ragged mountains of the Goron Province was pretty difficult I must say. And finding a place to transform was even more difficult.
I eventually settled for a place just behind the hot springs where some of the large Gorons were relaxing.
Mumbling the words, I transformed into my human form. I let out a relieved sigh as I stretched out my arms and legs. I wore the same cloths and cloak, but decided it'd be best to close the cloak fully. I ran my fingers through my (h/l) (h/c) hair. I inhaled the scent of the clear air. It felt great to be human again. I blinked my eyes a couple of times to get my (e/c) colored eyes back.
I quickly dusted myself off before letting myself emerge from behind the large rock I was standing behind. My fingers glided across the rocks surface as I took a peak from the rock. I walked away, ready to move when I heard a voice.
"Alevina! What are you doing here?" the overly joyous voice said.
I almost kept on moving but quickly realized that I was Alevina. I looked from my side to see who exactly owned the voice.
Oh...
I should have known...
"I never expected to see you here, Alevina!"
There was Link. Across from me on the other side of the hot spring. Damn.
I mentally threw myself against the hardest brick wall my mind could find and threw myself a couple of times. I mentally cursed at myself for not being able to wait for Link a little longer while back with Epona.
I quietly sighed and composed myself. I put on a somewhat fake smile on my face and waved.
"Nice to see you too, Link."
Looking for a way to get across the spring, all I saw was a narrow rough rocky surface. I stepped onto it. My balance was pretty could as a wolf so I should be fine. I mean, sure, I've only been a human for one day after a couple of years, but it shouldn't be hard...right? It was only a stone path so I should be fine.
After a couple of minutes, I was closing in on the last rock. Feeling confident, I spoke again.
"So, Link what brings--"
My sentence was cut off abruptly as I felt my right foot get stuck between the gaps of the rock. So much for being confident. I felt myself loose balance and ready to kiss the ground.
I waited for myself to kiss the oh-so-wonderful ground, note the sarcasm, but it never came. I felt a firm grip around my arms. I realized that my eyes had been closed so I opened them slowly.
Link's P.O.V.
I saw as Alevina lost her balance on the last stone. I saw as she fell and felt my reflexes dash to her side to catch her. Her hands gripped my arms. Her grip wasn't a hard one though; it was light.
Her eyes were closed and her face was scrunched up, probably expecting to hit the floor.
I looked down at her soft features as she slowly fluttered her eyes open. Her (e/c) eyes shining in the sunlight. She looked at me causing my face to flush.
She really was a cute girl and I was never really experienced with handling girls so blushing was really all I could do.
She released herself from my grip and stood up straight to fix her posture. She dusted off her cloak and looked at me once again, face still flushed.
"Thanks for the save," she smiled as my face flushed even more.
Get yourself together, Link.
Again, I was never really used to nice girls treating me this way. Alevina's features remained calm and composed. A look of sudden concern on her face.
She walked up to me. Her face literally a couple inches away from my face. She examined my face, which was still red and her being this close wasn't exactly helping.
She raised her hand and placed in on my forehead. She was on her tip toes since I was a bit taller than her. My heart skipped a beat.
Link, this is only your second time meeting her. Stop acting like this!
"You're face is hot, Link," she said as she brought her hands down to my cheeks and lifted my face to look into my eyes. Her (e/c) ones piercing my blue ones.
Of course my face was hot. I was blushing like crazy for crying out loud.
She then removed her hands from my face. She put one hand on her hip and held the other to her chin in a thinking matter.
"Are you sick, Link? Do you have a fever?" she said as her eyes filled with curiosity. She genuinely thought I was sick.
I face palmed. I guess Alevina's has never seen a guy blush before. I think that's a good thing.
"I'm fine, Alevina. Thank you for your concern," I said nervously as I scratched the back of my head.
She raised an eye brow as if she didn't believe me. "Well," she started, "I best be on my way. That, uh, little chat was nice."
"Alevina! Wait!" I called as I reached my arm towards her. I still wanted to help me with my weapons and shape shifting.
As she walked she slightly stumbled. The blush suddenly gone from my face, I looked down towards her ankle to see it slightly swollen.
She looked at it and shrugged and continued to walk as if it were nothing. I ran to her side as she slowly descended the mountain. Without saying a word, I quickly picked her up carrying her gently back to where Epona and (Y/N) where.
"What are you--put me down this instant. I can walk you know," Alevina said as her own face turned a light shade of pink.
I continued walking, not letting her go. "Now if wouldn't be very gentleman-like of me to let a lady like you walk around injured like that."
She remained shocked and silent at my words. I too, was shocked as well.

(Y/N)'s P.O.V.
I awkwardly rode on Epona's back behind Link as he tried to find a place for me to get my ankle checked. I wasn't holding onto his waist like all the other people who usually do that when riding with someone.
What luck. I could've easily healed if I were to transform back into a wolf since we heal fast. But idiotic me wanted to transform into a human. The longer I stay in human form with this injury, the longer it'll take to heal as a wolf.
"I'm sorry, Alevina," Link said as we rode along. "I thought my wolf friend, (Y/N) would be there. She's a powerful wolf so she could've helped you. I'm sorry she wasn't there."
I sweat dropped. At the same time Link mentioned my actual name, Epona had quickly turned her head to look at me. She knew it was me. I mean, it's not too hard to figure out. I assume Epona must've had remembered my wolf scent and traced it onto my human self. Epona was truly a smart horse. I'm just glad Link isn't a smart enough wolf to use his wolf senses on me. Perhaps when I become a wolf again, I'll cast some spell so he won't be able to trace my scent.
I felt Epona come to a stop. We stopped at the Zora province.
"We can stop here," Link said. He quickly jumped off Epona and held out his hand. I gave him a confused look as red started to return to his face.
What a liar. He totally has a fever.
