"Stop it! This Ink Machine is already broken beyond repair, and so is this place!" the poor toon shrieked from the top of his body, not minding the fact that his pleads were blocked by the charshing gears of the Ink Machine.
(Y/n) inhaled a trembling breath, sweat accumulating on her skin. With an axe tight in her grip, She wasn't ready to leave - her goal was to wreck the machinery that created and tortured those Ink Dwellers. "I won't go anywhere before I destroy this... this thing that Joey created!"
The Dancing Demon opened his mouth to interfere, but his course of attention was shifted into the growing arson. Before any fear takes hold on him, Bendy glanced at (Y/n)'s figure - who stood few meters away from him and separated by an empty pit of instant death. Only then The Demonic Toon realizes that convincing his Muse to stop won't be a piece of cake.
"I know you're mad, but you must listen to me! This place will be falling on top of our heads in any second now. I know you want to run away with Henry, I should've listened to you when you told me to be more forgiving towards those... towards your co-workers, even if they betrayed us in the past- but-... I'm sorry. I really am, For every inhumane and disgusting thing I did. But I can't let you get harmed - so just jump to my side and we'll be safe... together." The smoke thickens, more obstacles fall into the pit between (Y/n) and Bendy. The male toon could only extend his arm with anticipation "Don't you trust me?''
Broken voice of the Little Devil Darling caused the Lady to stop from causing havoc. She turned around - Words left him. (Y/n) stared into those pitch black eyes burning with anger, and her heart fell silent.
"Answer me!" Bendy roared. As if stuck underwater, everything was slow and warbled as he pointed a shaky finger in (Y/n) face. "Do you have nothing to say? I have poured my heart out to you, gave you my whole existence, my love - doesn't it mean anything to you?" he demanded. But the lady could only stare at him in horror. Bendy's eyes desperately searched (Y/n)'s... waiting. She had to say something! She searched for something reasonable to say, but to her own surprise her heart answered for Bendy.
"I failed myself, and you too. I never understood before why love must be free; I do now. You wanted me to be like you - a being of ink with no blood, no worries, no care for human beings... So you threw me in that, wicked, cursed Ink Machine just to strip me out of my humanity!" - with each word her voice was getting louder and more boisterous, regretting every decision she made throughout the years. "Love isn't possession, Bendy. You kept me locked in here within your protection a-and love, but what about the world outside? I had a family! I'm... no different than those Ink dwellers, just trapped in here,"
"Then what about ME?! I wasn't meant to be made in this word, I had no one - I'm no human. You were the only person in this workshop who cared enough for me a-and enveloped me with a warm sensation. My Creator, I couldn't just let you off - I knew that eventually you'd leave this place just like everyone wanted to do!"
"So that's why you locked me in here while seeing everyone I knew being tortured ; we need to end this!" - (Y/n) interrupts immediately; her temper mild and her body is exhausted. The Ink Demon was taken aback, leaving him speechless for a minute.
"I can't," Bendy finally says, sounding betrayed and heartbroken as he slumps in his place. "I can't let you leave me, not after everything we went through together."
"Why can't you just get it?! " Miss (L/n) says frantically, grasping for straws in her brain as she stares into his eyes, "I want to be a human again!"
"...but, I tried, to satisfy you- and love you-? It wasn't enough, wasn't it?"
Bendy held his beloved (Y/n) so many times, developed her with countless kisses ; but now that's not the future that he seeks - it is an empty shell. Things have changed so much, so fast, he worry that he won't be able to control the ending of this mess. The single thought of his Muse leaving his arms, his love and lust made his mind go haywire. So like a lost child, The Ink Demon held out for love, wide eyes and shaking limbs, still looking at the Lady in front of him, praying for her affection back.
"I..." (L/n) stayed rooted to the spot, the smoke moving her hair softly away from the cheeks. Her features buckled just slightly before she spoke, the only betrayal of her grief. "I never sought to hurt you, Bendy. I'm sorry."
And without a single second to waste, the female cartoonist jumped away from the ruins of the Ink Machine that started to catch fire. She just ran, not looking back at her weeping Little Devil Darling.
Bit by Bit, her walls came tumbling down. As she ran from her one and only creation that she loved; the tears in her eyes turned the rainy day of a whirlwind. (Y/n) slammed through the burning doors. She didn't care for the fiery fire stinging through her (skin-color) skin. She just broke down. The sobs punched through, ripping through her muscles, bones, and guts.
♢ All the while, Within the workshop the fire spread with ease, turning the once nostalgic first floor into a maze of flame. Black smoke billowed up the stairs, moving like a hurricane of ashes.
An adult man and a cartoonish wolf were escaping the incinerating bodies of the anguished Ink Slaves. The butcher gang, Ink Dwellers, Searchers and even the lumping body of Joey Drew were now conflagrating in agonizing pain. And yet, those souls welcomed death with greeting arms.
"Boris, be careful," Henry tried his best to dodge the Ink puddles and pitfalls that stood between them and the first floor exit "We just need to find (Y/n) and soon we'll leave this hell."
Boris followed his pal close by, only to suddenly whimper and wobble his arms in front of Henry. Tracing the Toon's index finger, The adult male noticed that he was pointing towards the old staircase - a figure was slowly approaching, or more specifically, dragging the broken furniture away from the blocked passage towards Henry and Boris.
"(L/n)!"
The female gasped upon hearing her name, her eyes are still glossy from her tears ; "Henry, Boris!" (Y/n) was ready to stumble and shove any heavy obstacles that stood in her way, but something else caught her attention causing her to snap in sudden panic "BORIS!"
Henry was on his way running towards (Y/n), completely forgetting the goofy Wolf behind him. Although seeing as (Y/n)'s expression changed into more of a trembling one, the man couldn't help but turn towards Boris in concern as well.
A heavy lumb of broken wooden planks and pipes fell on top of Boris, crashing him down to the floor. "Oh God, Boris!" - the Lady and the adult male ran to their dear pal with fear, trying to help Boris who started to tremble and whine under the heavy load of burning hurdle
"C'mon, Henry, Help me out!" - Boris was in constant motion, wagging, wriggling and stomping. The poor Wolf grabbed at Henry's heels in pain. The crashing pipes and wood were seized on fire, making it only hard for (Y/n) and Henry to lift them. "Careful! It's caught on fire, we can't just grab it!"
When Henry and (Y/n) got a firm grip on Boris, he began to shake his head back and forth. They tried to bent down to pull him away, bit Boris just kept resisting. There was no malice in those big doggy eyes, they were the eyes of a baby. Thus Boris kept pushing Henry and Miss (L/n) from the burning pile.
"No, Boris, what're you doing? Let us help you." (Y/n) pleaded, her voice breaking from word to word "We won't leave you!"
"(Y/n), the fire-" In a swift movement, Henry snatched (Y/n) away from the blazing fire that started to densely envelop them, throwing each other away from Boris.
"But Boris!?"
"This place is going down, there's no time!"
turning around in a hurry, (Y/n) and Henry glanced at their innocent pal one last time. Boris has his doggy eyes fixed on them. Whining and shaking his head, he tried to guster for them towards the exit. He wanted to tell them to run, live and leave him behind, the flames were already blocking him from getting up ; but his mute existence made him look helpless.
"B-boris..." cupping her hands to cover her mouth, the Lady started to tear up ; first she had to leave Alice, then Bendy, now Boris. Henry clenched his teeth in despair ; But the wolf tried to smile, even though he knew he'll be devoured by the fire. "You saved our lives, pal. Goodbye."
And so, trembling away, Henry and his female colleague ran away in guilt, feeling forsaken. At last, Boris got to see his two favourite people running towards their freedom - and he was happy. He was a precious gift of light in this nightmare, a pure soul.
♢ "On three : one, two , three-" - Trying to hold on together, (Y/n) and Henry continued towards the exit, lifting up the barricades that are blocking the exit of Joey Drew Studios. The two were able to work together - doing everything to survive the arson that will soon cover the whole workshop.
But in the far back of the hallway, Bendy stood, watching the two figures escape.
He could've stopped them, attacked Henry, took his dear (L/n) back - but he couldn't. These many years, most of them beautiful, some brutal, He have earned (Y/n)'s trust. He have never strayed or abandoned ; but been stalwart, true, loving. He proved her that her Little Devil would do anything in this world to keep her safe; Just like (Y/n) warped him with love and care, he would repay her with tender passion, away from prying eyes.
The Demon's heart still beats for his Muse, but against a chest that feels hollow. His eyes still see, yet the world that is now in fire seems far away. His mind begins to shut down, unwilling to think anymore. His gaze never broke from the figure that he always loved and praised higher upon anything in his soul.
Bendy was left alone.
(Y/n) knew what she was doing, It's no excuse she owns her behavior. She tries to help, to be good, and then a trigger is flicked. Her emotions turn - cold, fearful, anxious. Perhaps it was her blaming for the fire, or Boris's demise, and Bendy's exile. In these moments she's least proud of who she's. But she didn't dare to look back. Instead, she kept on running with Henry
A harsh swing of fresh air bursted them in the face. "We escaped, we're free!"
Right when (Y/n)(L/n) was about to give up, right when she was about to let go of the dwindling ray of hope that flickered dangerously inside her, as if the heavens had given the lady another chance to live her life right, and her heart soared, mending itself once more. She was saved - free into the outside world! Waves of fresh air and relief washed over her, and she felt it soak right into her bones. Dizzy with exaltation, she closed her eyes and savoured the felicity that fizzled in her heart. She's free.
The end
