Hola, como estas amigos?
My name is Camilla Isabella Noceda, an average fifteen year old with an average life, with a socially average household..

"Camilla mi hija! Come downstairs por favor!" My head looked to my bedroom door, lifting up my homework I set it on my textbooks and bring them downstairs. Setting them on the table I round the corner into the kitchen.

"Si mamá?" I adjusted my black square framed glasses before looking directly into my mamá's eyes, she smiled and waved me over "help me with dinner, I'm making enchiladas.." she singsonged 'enchiladas' a bit more extended to gather my attention, catching my drool with my sleeve I smile slightly nervous. "I uhm.. suppose homework can wait."

She stops and looks at me with serious eyes, "no no mi hija! Go finish your homework then you can help."
My adoptive brother Alex slams into the house with excitement, before the front door closes hesitantly "lo siento mamá" he apologizes quietly before entering the dining room, looking down at my opened textbooks and homework packet.
"Aw, prissy Camilly is being all nerdy." Papá looks up from his newspaper and says a two part sentence that absolutely destroys Alex "at least she has good grades, unlike what your report card says."
I tie the tassels of my zip up hooded jacket to distract myself from laughing, he sits down and points to the pitcher of lemonade. "Por favor?" Papá points to the kitchen "ask your mother.."

Leaning into the view of mamá I ask suddenly knowing if she made lemonade, she made her sun tea. "Mamá? May I have some sun tea por favor?" Turning around she smiles, "you may mi hija" standing up I head into the kitchen and grab a glass, pausing I ask out into the dining room "papá would you like some too?"

His voice chuckles before he replies "si por favor."
Muttering 'excuse me mamá' when I grab a knife I cut a lemon in half then into slices, cutting a peach in half I twist it to get the pitt to detach itself from the fruit.
Slicing the peach in sort of triangular slices I lean over to mamá, "peach slice?" She smiles before taking the slice to eat it, "mm perfect! I should make empanadas tomorrow!"

Returning to the slices I cut slits into the peach, setting a couple of the peach slices into the two glasses I pour the tea ontop of them.
Getting on the tips of my toes I grab two fabric four inch cloths, walking into the dining room I put a cloth down then the cup ontop of it, setting a lemon on the rim I head into the kitchen to get my own and clean up.

Taking a sip of my tea after stirring in the lemon and crushing the peach with my straw I smile.
Setting my textbooks and homework into my backpack at the front door, I head into the kitchen and wash my hands.

My eyes snap open to knocking on my bedroom door, looking at my clock I sigh. "I'm up mamá, I'm up.." I mumble groggily,
Pulling on jogging clothes I shove a clean outfit and my water bottle into a thin backpack, pulling my green zip up hoodie on I jog down the stairs before running upstairs to get my glasses.

Mamá smiles and heads outside, following her I yawn and stretch my arms.

Every morning at four thirty, just as the sun rises me and mamá jog for an hour and a half then she takes me to school.
Hopping on my shoes to get the feel of the new jogging shoes I look at mamá, jogging out into the trail we normally take It's not long before I push my jacket into the backpack.
The trail becomes muddy, too muddy. Slipping on a muddied rock I slide off the trail and roughly tumble down the hill, my leg catches on something and there's a swift snap.

Looking around the dark forest I call out to mamá before the pain causes me to faint.

There's multiple voices around me

"She's a human."
"What happened to her?"
"She slipped on mud and fell down a hill mom. I think she broke her leg."

I begin to open my eyes, wincing to the searing, stabbing pain in my leg. A woman looks at me with a nervous smile, half moon glasses glimmering in the light.
I look to see the owner of the young voice to be a girl with bright near carrot colored hair, she's mixing something in a.. cauldron?
Pouring a shimmering blue liquid into a cup she hands it to me, "drink this.. it'll.. hopefully heal you." I raise an eyebrow to her sceptical tone, drinking the liquid I shake my head to the flavor "it tastes like what alchohol smells like." My leg snaps suddenly back into place, covering my mouth I choke on a painful scream.

Her mother rests her hand on my shoulder and murmurs it would last long, leaning my head on her shoulder my screams escape in pained sobs, my hand gripping at her sleeve. I watch the girl pour more of the weird medicine into a glass, "no no, please no more!" I beg with a terrified expression, she sighs and approaches me.
Pressing into her mother I watch my vision go slightly blurry, my glasses are pretty bent up and broken, the lenses cracked in many places. She dips them into the liquid, letting them sparkle and shimmer until the shimmering stops. Pulling them out she wipes off the remaining liquid and sets them on my face, she's unimpressed but also worried.

"I thought humans were supposed to be supreme warlords.. you're a wuss-" she comments nonchalantly "Edalyn!" Her mother swiftly warns, I look at her with wide eyes "t-the military and outlaws! Not me! I just go to school and do my homework, maybe hang out with my friends!"

She looks at me with an eyebrow raised "what's up with the loud self moving chariots then?" I feel myself snort, "cars? Are you from the fifteen hundreds? How do you guys travel long distances?"

Crashing comes from an adjacent room, a staff flying into her hand. She stands on it as it hovers the ground two feet, "staffs and palisman? Magic? Hexes, spells, jinxes, curses, incantations?"
I look up at her mother and shrug, she frowns. "It's a wonder how your kind has survived without magic. I'm Gwendolyn by the way.. Gwendolyn Clawthorne, but please, call me Gwen. And my chaotic daughter- she prefers everyone to call her Eda."

Eda scoffs and flicks at the air, a floating scroll?? On some form of social media scrolling up each time she flicks up. "She's.." my eyes look towards Eda to see her giving me.. no- her mother the middle finger in an almost unnoticeable way. "A bit hard to deal with.. since her sister left."
I nod with an understanding smile, standing up I limp a little and wince. Eda stands up, her harsh, antisocial attitude changing as I wince. "I um.. if I can.. would it be too much to know where the bathroom is? I just realized all the mud on me, I'm so sorry for making your couch dirty.."

Gwen smiles, shaking her head. "It's alright. If you're willing, Edalyn. Could you please show..." I jump in sudden surprise "oh dios mío I'm so sorry! I'm Camilla, Camilla Noceda."

"It's all fine dear, now.. as I was saying, could you please show Camilla the way to the bathroom? And you can leave your clothes in the hamper Camilla, I was planning on doing laundry today anyway."
Eda, before I could protest, feeds me more of the alchohol tasting torture water then nods. Smiling nervously at Eda, I mumble a short thank you before entering the bathroom with my backpack. Finger gunning me she winks, I close the door before she can see my blush.

Changing into the black skinny jeans, white t-shirt and my green zip up I don't even mind zipping it up, checking my hair I find it's not dirty. Neither is my skin surprisingly.. must've been that 'magic' Eda was talking about.
Splashing water in my face I sigh, my muscles slightly relaxing.
Heading downstairs I put my backpack on a hook beside another backpack, Gwen smiles warmly. I look around confused for a moment, Eda pats my shoulder, now in a Letterman jacket. "Let's go outside.. you need to stimulate your leg."

Walking out the front door I immediately freeze "is that a UNICORN?!!" Was my first sentence, Eda chuckles before nodding. She flicks away a fairy that is approaching me, I go to defend it but she looks at me blankly "they eat flesh.. and will use your skin as clothing. Don't conversate with them."

My skin gets immediate shivers, she spins her finger behind her back, making a neon bright ring of light. My ears suddenly feel heavier.
"Edalyn? I haven't seen you in months! Who's the pretty girl?~" a feminine voice comes from a person in an outfit that makes them look like a bird, "this is.. Camilla- she just moved here from.. the knee, her parents homeschooled her but, she is planning on joining either the healers or beast keeping coven." She seems nervous about.. whatever those are, but I get the gist.
"Ah si, I'm just bummed I can't join the two, I'd make a veterinary clinic for all the semi to full domesticated animals in the.. isles." I'm just practically looking at Eda giving me the right words to say, the girl lifts up her mask. "Oh my Gosh Lily! What- where- your glasses and hair!"

Lily?? Touches her black two inch from shoulder length hair, and chuckles. "To look more professional."
Eda looks faint, nauseous. "Well you better get back to work.. so bye-" Eda grabs my arm and walks away from the girl.. that must be her sister..
Wincing I intake air and say worriedly "p-please let me rest a moment, my leg really hurts." She pauses, sighs then leads me to a bench.

She hands me a small bottle, I reluctantly take it and drink the blue potion. "I'll go get you something that doesn't taste like liquor. Be right back."
I watch her walk off, my cheeks fill with a blush.. what is this feeling? Why is my heart racing? Did she put a curse on me? Why do I have the sudden urge to reward her worry with a kiss?

Oh Dios mío..

I.. I think I'm gay.

Why now?! Why did some mystical, wild place full of pointy eared people have to awaken this feeling??
Why Eda?! I mean yes, she's nice.. kind.. thoughtful- so far.. a little bit jockish but, my goodness..

"Hey Camilla." Eda announces her return, handing me a bottle with a blood like colored substance she blushes embarrassed. "It's.. apple blood. It's pretty good."
Cracking open the sealed plastic cap I skeptically sniff it before taking a drink, I give a little smile before returning my attention to the drink. "I know.. you may decline but, mom thinks it's a good idea to stay at my place a few days. She's worried that because you're human.. the potion isn't strong enough. Obviously.."

She gently nudges my leg, causing me to wince slightly, looking up to look at the slowly appearing moon, "it is a waxing moon so.. I might need to double down a few ingredients."
My eyes look towards Eda, she had a serious look on her face.
The way she looked as she stared at the moon.. mesmerizing. The way she bit her lip as she concentrated, a sharp fang nearly peircing her bottom lip. Her golden eyes shimmering in the dawn of a sunset.
Everything about this girl was.. interesting, eye catching.

She looks like an internal dork..

She looks like she loved to cause fun chaos..

She looks like she's driven to success with a smile rather than a toxic attitude..

...

She looks like the kind of girl.. to cheer up an absolute stranger with a busted leg..

The girl I'd kinda be into.

She glanced at me and snickered, mumbling that I was a dork. I looked away with a blush, my face stiff from the smile that threatens to reveal itself.
Standing up I suck in air swiftly, my leg now barely letting me put a pound of weight on it. Kneeling down she pats her back, trying to refuse she laughs and reassures me she'll be fine, that she 'didn't get this jacket(her letterman) for bench sitting.' She pulls me into a piggyback, I hug her neck to keep myself stable.

Beginning the walk to her place she talks minimally about how it's like here, trying my best to reply I end up mumbling 'mhm' and 'uh-huh' until I pass out.

I semi wake up to someone moving hair from my closed eyes, a short sigh appears before obviously Eda walks off. My eyes open to see her hovering above a glowing turquoise potion, exhaustion in her expression.
Sitting up I yawn a moment, her eyes, looking green in the potions glow move to my half opened eyes. Filling up a glass she approaches me, sitting down in front of me she brings the cup to my lips.
I swallow down the better tasting potion and lean back, my leg starts readjusting immediately. I frown as she yawns, "you should sleep.. don't stay up because of me Eda."

She pauses, her eyes wide. Surprised that I'm worried about her, sitting at the other end of the couch she puts my healing leg on her lap. Massaging my tense, sore muscles to replace walking.
She's going to be hard to sway.. "I need to keep an eye on you.. I need to know if I need to make it stronger.." sighing loudly I smile "dios mío, 'I need, I need, I need'.. what you need is to sleep. I'll be up awhile."

She takes a moment before closing her eyes, I almost instantly miss her golden hues.
I chuckle softly before closing my eyes, about possibly an hour later I feel weight fall onto my front in an unconscious manner.
Opening my eyes I see Eda had laid on my side and shoulder, her knees tucked under my own. Exhaustedly breathing in a slightly harsh manner, drinking some more potion I sigh before closing my eyes again.
Eda adjusts herself before mumbling then sighing heavily, I feel myself blush..

I know she's just tired..

I know I told her to sleep..

This is my surprise 'reward'. I set my head on my free shoulder and breathe in, my exhale flowing me into a semi peaceful sleep.

Dreams flowing, running, streaming like a river in my mind as my subconscious catches onto one of the various dreams.

The only thing I want to ask is

Did anyone get that "be more chill" reference? If you don't watch musicals cool, if you do, you know BMC.. I'm disappointed in you.
