Chapter 10: What Happens Now!? The Decision!

So the dumbass author of this story forgot that Ishida was supposed to be a part of the human world and help out, so for now he'll just appear and be there like he was here the whole time :D

And she also forgot that Kenpachi is still the capt. for 11 squad so take out that Yachiru bit from earlier ._.

Maybe I'll go to Soul Society and be chased down over there, maybe I can save him then. Of course, I would never be able to return here. But wouldn't I have to die in my real body? What would happen if I die in soul form...

Rukia's eyes shut and more blood surrounded her. It hurts...my body feels heavy...I can't speak, or move, or do anything. Hisana, I look a lot like you now, huh? Tears escaped her lashes.

She lied there for what felt like forever in great pain which eventually began to subside...little by little she felt lighter and lighter, until a falling sensation spread across her back. It felt like slowly going into a deep sleep. The only thing that's missing is some snow.

From her shut eyes, a soft white light with a sky blue boarder replaced the darkness. The falling feeling slowly ceased and it felt like she was floating. It was dead silent, and instead of hearing a loud ring in her ears, it felt as if she was underwater. She was well aware of this even though she wasn't breathing. It wasn't cold, all heaviness and pain she was feeling a second ago was gone. It was so peaceful. Am I dead? Realizing that her eyes were open, she closed them slowly, going into a deep sleep again. I thought I would- her brain finishes the thought before she can say it in her mind. Opening her eyes again, she figured out the reason why it felt like she was underwater. She could feel her short hair slide across her face. Somehow she brought her hand up and reached for the light above her, which was gradually getting smaller. Her robes were moving along with the water as well. I'm sinking. Am I dead, or...? Why am I still conscious?  What is this.......what am I? I don't wanna die.

"So am I allowed to cut her hair off?" A young voice said.

The first thing Rukia saw was the face of one or Urahara's "employees", that kid with the hot pink hair (his name slipped her mind). Instinctively, she screamed and slapped him away, then sat up halfway.

"What in the world was that!?" She demanded.

"I-I told you not to upset her, Jinta-kun..." A little girl with twintails said silently. Was she afraid he'd hit her?

"Shut up!" The kid said and began to yank one of the girl's twin tails.

    "Owww ow ow ow!!"

"Shut the hell up before I kill the both of you." Rukia scowled. The boy withdrew. "Well, mostly you." She directed to him.

"Heh! Just fight me! I'll make you regret that challenge!"

"Regret." Images of Ichigo leaving to Soul Society appeared like a three-second slideshow in her mind. It all came back to her, the realization hitting like falling sandbags. "That's right," she quickly said after a slight gasp. "We have to go and find! -- unn." Pain struck her abdomen left shoulder, sliding around like a hot wire and was followed with extreme soreness and a headrush unlike any other she's experienced in her life. It overwhelmed her so much that all she could do was clutch her forehead and breathe with her eyelids tightly locked.

Rukia got herself to lie back down like she was before. Once she was comfortable (as comfy as she can get),a the door nearby slid open.

"So you realized that sitting up was a bad move on your part, that's good. Your friend was pretty stubborn for awhile at his stay."

Friend? She thought. A bright, glowing blue color invaded her mind. A bow and arrow. She turned her head to the side, trying to face Urahara with as little pain as possible

"I-Ishida? Do you mean you healed him after the Hollow incident?" Urahara nodded. What was I dreaming about? Rukia thought. She tried to remember, to bring back any image, but it slipped away just like that. Instead of her dream, the person she was fighting the night before appeared in her mind. Her brow furrowed slightly from the thought. What was her name....?

"That shinigami," Urahara began, grabbing her attention. "The one you fought last night. It's pretty amazing that you managed to keep up with her fighting techniques; she reallly hates to psychically use the blade."

"What's up with her?" Rukia asked as the two kids exited the room, since they really had nothing to do with the conversation. "Wait - you were there?"

"Yes. I let you fight her on purpose."

The anger flared in her voice. "Are you saying you could have helped out!?"

"I said or implied nothing of the sort." he calmly replied. "And as for your question, Arisawa Tatsuki is the vice-captain of the 2nd squad."

Rukia didn't understand the gibberish she just heard. "...Meaning...?"

"Oh yes, I should explain the whole shinigami system first!"

"Do you have to?" she rudely said. Does this guy go from serious to cheerful just like that? "Ichigo is going to be executed any minute now and..." her voice faded.

"As I was saying: There is an academy for souls who have reiatsu higher than normal to train to become shinigami. If they can graduate, they go to the Gotei 13. Like the name, there are 13 squads, and each squad has the usual members of them and then the people who rank higher than everyone else. The two strongest members in each squad are the vice-captain and the Captain. The captain trains and is the leader of the squad, and their personality or fighting styles rub off on the members of that squad." She didn't quite understand thst last part.

"So," Rukia began as she soaked up the confusing information "the captains are the leaders of Soul Society?"

"There is one Head Captain that controls the rest of the 12." Rukia nodded.

"So, like...vice-captains are the closest to captains you can get?"

"Precisely." Chills ran across her skin, creating goosebumps from the fear. I fought one of those...?

    "What about Ichigo!?"

"I don't know that much about Soul Society," he began. Really bad liar or whatever he just told me was a small part of it... "but enough to know that Kurosaki-san is...special in terms of his rank. But his strength is phenomenal."

He's always telling me to never challenge him - "Then why was a bite from a Hollow enough to put him down and cause all of this? If he's that strong then couldn't he have easily avoided it?"

"I don't know the answer to that, but prehaps you can ask him yourself."

She gripped the sheets resting on her lap. "How can I do that if he's about to die!? Shouldn't we be on our way to help him!?" Rukia stood up, ignoring the intense headrush that followed and the blotches that covered up her vision. She was so dizzy that she nearly fell over but stubbornly balanced herself out. "Am I supposed to just sit here and wait for him to be killed, and then live the rest of my life as a human and then a soul knowing that it's my fault!?" Her voice gradually rose to a shout. "We have to get there soon or--"

Urahara brought up his cane and pointed the end of it at Rukia's face, which caused her to stop mid-sentence. Rukia barley saw the little skull inside of a flame before he pushed her on the forehead with the force strong enough to maker her fall back; the back of her head, lower spine, and elbows struck with pain.

"Owww." she growled and rubbed her head.

"Your weak." Urahara said. Excuse me? "It's practically suicide when a weakling enters enemy territory. You don't even have shinigami powers anymore, or spiritual energy. Can you still feel the presence of souls?" Rukia shook her head. "Sit up." She obeyed. "You have little experience with fighting oppenents; you're lucky you at least took dojo classes and can fight hand-to-hand. But all other shinigami fight with their zanpakuto."

    "So, what should we do?"

(The next lines are off of memory - I'll check for any innacuracies later)

"Traditionally, Soul Society waits for a month before executing prisoners on death row. With the time it will take to open the portal to Soul Society, get you your powers back, and to train you, you'll have time to help Kurosaki-san."

There was so many things Rukia wanted to say, but her mind decided to ask first: "I'm...I'm getting my powers back?"

"You'll see. That should take about 3 days. And then you'll allow me to torture you for 10 days so you can fight against other shinigami."

"Do...do you think I can really do this?"

"Only if you're will to save him is strong enough. Like with athletes;  I'm sure you've heard how most of it is mental - the rest is the skill you have."

Am I really going to risk my life just for this guy I barley know? What if I really do die? There's so much ahead...I haven't finished highschool...will I ever get a job? Will I ever have a family? How will Nii-san take it? Everyone else?

"My my, you can just feel the fear radiating from your being." Urahara said. "Don't worry, we'll work on that."

After probably ten minutes of staring at the ceiling in thought, Rukia finally made up her mind. "Fine."

"Perfect! We don't have time to waste - but first we should heal those injuries."

    I must be insane.
