Coffee

Andha night romba naalaa young uh irundhurkku... Sorry for the delay 🥺.

---------------------------

Scared. That was Siddharth's state when he stepped into Sarakshi's house. He passed a sarcastic smile, as it was this place which was once his home, their home. He was afraid if something would happen like the last day.

Will she ask him to leave, again was the only thought running on his mind. He wasn't ready to accept another breakdown.

Sarakshi: Ukkarunga... I'll be back.

His thoughts were broken by her melodic voice. How he wished everything in these four years to be a dream.

Instead of settling down, Siddharth noticed her house. It was still the same. But what hurt him was, it didn't feel like home, anymore.

Every little corner in her house had a memory of him. That made him happy and sad as well. What was he supposed to feel? Should he be happy to know that she was still having some feelings on him? Or should he be sad that he wasn't lucky enough to have her in his arms again?

His heart pricked, thinking of how his little bird spent all these four years, alone. But he knew she was a fierce eagle at those times when it comes to protect herself and he was proud of her.

He noticed Snow who was hyper and running all around the house. It felt like , Snow wasn't here for a long time.

Before he could think further, Sarakshi came back with two mugs of coffee in her hands. She saw Siddharth in the balcony, leaning on the railing as he kept looking at the city that was upto fall asleep.

She moved towards him and stood beside him, their arms brushing slightly. Her long hair strands were now tickling his well built ,unclothed arms. Siddharth felt this ticklish feeling throughout his body and he slightly moved away from her.

Though she was disappointed, she kept a straight face. She slowly handed him his coffee. Siddharth was emotional, as it was evident that he was an addict to her coffees'. Taking deep breaths, he took his cup of coffee from her, which made smile. His eyes didn't fail to notice the 'Dad' word painted on the cup.

Sarakshi: Epdi irukinga, Sid??

She spoke after a long time. Siddharth was neither happy nor sad to hear her. He would have been the happiest person if she spoke with him in a better way the last time they met but all he could hear was her last sentence 'Stay away from me'.

Siddharth: I'm good , Sarakshi. What about you?

Sarakshi: I don't know, Sid.

Siddharth sighed as he knew that this night was going to be the longest night in their life.

Sarakshi: Enaku unga kooda pesanum!!

Siddharth sipped the first sip of his coffee and closed his eyes as the caffeine reached his soul.

Siddharth: Pesalaam...

Sarakshi looked at him with a great shock as she was expecting a nod or a 'hmm' from him. Was there any magic casted upon him?

Sarakshi: Inga vendam... Terrace ku polaama?

He nodded his head this time and they together went to the terrace, taking Snow with them as they knew Snow would never interfere in their personal time.

They sat on their favourite spot, hanging their legs down and sipping coffees'.

After five minutes of calm silence, Sarakshi began speaking.

Sarakshi: Indha edam nyabagam irukaa?

After the second sip of his coffee, his lips curved into a small smile.

Siddharth: Rombave! Marakka mudiyadha alavuku.

Sarakshi's heart was beating really fast. Does he remember every little thing about them? Did he still have her in his heart? Will she ever be able to be his Sakshi, again? Her mind was clogged up with a flood of questions.

She chuckled suddenly, making him confuse. He raised his eyebrows, asking 'what' to which she chuckled again.

Sarakshi: First time neenga inga vandhapo.. inga ukkara evlo bayandhinga nu nyabagam iruka???

Siddharth looked straight, staring the tall building infront of him as his mind wandered to those beautiful memories. The way he held her hands, asked her to climb up and made her scream.

He took the third sip of his coffee and he smiled a bit more.

Siddharth: Adhellam ipo dhan nadandha maari iruku !!

He set his gaze on her, now. For every second she made him fall for her more and more. She sat there with her raw and real face without any make-up which he always preferred. He could say she was tired, may be she hasn't slept for a while. She gathered all her hair to one side , tucking some strands behind her ear. She kept sipping her coffee as he noticed her petal lips.

For a moment, she stirred up Siddharth's heart by flaunting her dimpled smile.

Sensing his gaze , she looked back at him. He was still the same devilishly handsome, Siddharth who had become extra hot as time goes. She noticed his hair tied up in a top knot, leaving the rest of his hair free and she totally loved it. He seemed like a baby lion to her.

From no where, she again asked him something, looking straight into his eyes.

Sarakshi: Appa, amma ve paaka vendama?

Siddharth's face changed as reality hit him again. What was he supposed to say? He has yearned for them, all these years. But were they ready to accept him now?

Sarakshi: They miss you a lot, Sid !! Avanga unna pathi nenaikadha naale ile..
They love you.

Siddharth kept silent.

Sarakshi: Please avangala mannichudunga...

The place was filled with silence again.
Siddharth took the fourth sip of his coffee.

Siddharth: I miss them too...

Sarakshi raised her shaking hands slowly. Her little fingers trembled all the way to reach his warm big hands. She gently placed her small hand on his. Both felt the warmth they had for eachother. The touch bought back a lot of memories. It reminded them of home.

Siddharth's lips parted as he saw her hands in is. He looked at her, who was already looking at him and she gave him a weak smile.

He gripped her hands back, after the fifth sip of his coffee.

Sarakshi's eyes blurred as his hold told her, she was right there in his heart. She suppressed her tears, pressing her lips tight.

Her little thumb, kept caressing the back of his hand. Siddharth looked down and noticed that she had a small tattoo on her left wrist. It was the design of a small cupcake and a snowflake. He understood it was him and Snow.

Siddharth: Unaku valikalaya di?

Sarakshi: Sid !!!

He jerked for a second.

Siddharth looked at her, who's face was completely hidden with her hair, due to the heavy wind. Having coffee cup in one hand and the other in Sid's hand, she was unable to adjust the waving hair.

Sarakshi: Enaku kichu kichu aavudhu!! Indha mudi !!!

Siddharth casually took the sixth sip of his coffee without letting go of her hands. Sarakshi might have jumped in happiness, if she wasn't sitting at the top most floor of the building, with hanging legs.

Chuckling at her pout, Siddharth took away his hands and let her adjust her hair.

Sarakshi: Sid... Na unga kita onnu kekalama??

He nodded his head on response.

Sarakshi: I'm sorry.

Siddharth began trembling. He was still emotionally weak. She knows that he loves her and he does love her a lot more.

Sarakshi: Neenga evlo venaalum enna punish pannunga...but please don't hate me... Neenga enaku thirupi kedaikala naalum paravaale.. I'll live the rest of my life like this... But please Sid... Enna veruthudaathinga. You were the only person who loved me in my life.

She began crying.

Siddharth looked at her with moist eyes.

That was enough for her breakdown. She turned her head away from him, wiping away the uncontrollable tears from her eyes. He then noticed, her right thumb, constantly caressing her tattoo. What did that mean? Is it hurting or does she seek strength with that?

He couldn't believe if it was the same Sarakshi whom he met four years ago. It was her words that made him bleed. She wasn't lying when she once said that she was full of thorns. But the thing is  Siddharth was even ready to bleed for her.

Sarakshi: I'm sorry, again. I didn't mean to create a scene.

She sniffed.

Snow who saw his mother crying, ran upto her and sat inbetween Siddharth and Sarakshi.

For a moment, Siddharth felt content. He was ready to live the moment, even if it was a lie. He wished to be the old Siddharth for that time alone.

Sarakshi saw him, staring at the deserted highway road on his left. She passed a small smile with her hands rubbing Snow's back.

Sarakshi: Snow ungala romba miss panaan.

Siddharth: Apo nee pannalaya???

Siddharth smiled and kept him palm over Snow's back without noticing her hand. It was too late when he realised that his palm was above hers on Snow's back. Snow for the first time, after four years, felt the warmth of his father and mother, together. He passed a satisfying, toothy smile at them.

Sarakshi: How's Ryan anna??

Siddharth smiled as he heard her act as if she hasn't seen Ryan for years.

Siddharth: Aren't you guys in touch? Iniku kooda pesirpingale...

Sarakshi gave him a caught look, making him chuckle.

Siddharth: Ithana varsham enga stay panna? He sounded serious the next moment.

Sarakshi was taken aback by his sudden question. She kept silent.

Siddharth: I can see, Snow being hyper in this place. Romba naal ku aprm inga vara maari irukaan ??

Sarakshi: I'm staying at your place for the past four years... Amma, Appa kooda.

This was something unexpected and shocking for Siddharth. He hadn't expected her to stay there. But to be honest, Siddharth was overjoyed when he heard that. He had given her a family and she wasn't alone. She had been there to take care of his parents when he wasn't there.

Siddharth smiled a little, again.

Sarakshi: Ungaluku kovam ilaya?

Siddharth: Edhuku??

Sarakshi: Unga veetla irundhadhuku?

Siddharth smirked at the fate, thinking how it was 'Ours' back then and it 'Yours' and 'Mine' now.

Siddharth shook his head negatively.

Siddharth: Naa kova pattu enna aaga pogudhu?

Sarakshi knew that she shouldn't have asked that. She began humming a random song that made Siddharth interested since he hadn't heard her sing for a long time, in person.

Siddharth: Sathhama paadriya?

Sarakshi looked at him with a smile as she knew, her voice was his drug.

Odum neeril orr alaithaan nan
Ullae ulla eeram neethan
Varam kidaithum naan thavaraviten
Mannipaaya anbae

Siddharth closed his eyes, taking in her voice, the melodious music and the lyrics. His heart began melting, like never before.

She stopped singing as she was emotionally weak and she would end up crying.

He knew if he stayed here, something might happen that he wasn't even ready to think what it is.

Sipping the seventh and the last sip of his coffee, which has now turned cold, he stood up carefully from the slab.

Sarakshi looked at him, yearning visible in her eyes. Siddharth smiled in response and she now saw his dimple that was burried in his bearded cheek and that gave an unknown comfort for her.

Siddharth: Poitu varen, Sakshi.

He moved away without looking back, bidding bye to Snow, leaving the poor girl's heart to beat at the most rapid rate.

Siddharth: I can never hate you, Sakshi...

Katrile adum kaagidham nan
Neethaan ennai kadidhamakinaai
Anbil thodanghi anbil mudikiren enkalangarai vilakamae...

And he knew that his little bird would fly across the seas even if it is to drown in the wild ocean.
