Clone cadets part 2

Heavy point of view

Failed again, this makes it the thousandth time we failed that stupid practice course because those guys refuse to get out of my way. Echo doesn't know when to shut up always repeating orders, Five keeps getting in my way and becomes droid bait and the most annoying one of them all doesn't even have a name he keeps joking around and getting in my way why can't they all just stay back and let me do what I'm good at killing droids. At this rate we're all going to end up like 99 maintenance clones

Echo repeating himself: guys we've got to follow orders come on!

The Joker sarcastically: I don't know. I think it went rather well.

Will he quit joking around this is serious this is my chance to get out of here and fight in the war to become an arc trooper!

Fives: can we please just stop arguing?

Maybe you should take his own advice fives: and how about you stop being droid bait out there? You're getting in my way. Do you want to be the best you've got to think like it I'm thinking like an arc trooper

Echo: arc troopers follow orders.

Oh here we  go again follow orders follow orders that's all he ever says, he's like a broken protocol droid: care to repeat that... Echo?

He looks at me with a blank expression is just pushes past me, oh that is it! I've had enough of this know it all. As he walks past me I grab him by the shoulder and punch him straight in the face he tries to fight back but I'm stronger than him how to follow real orders.

I would've been able to as well if the Master Chief bounty Hunter didn't step in and stop us. Stupid bounty hunters I'd rather be trained by Jedi then some lowlife.

Master chief lecturing us: if you two would focus more on fighting droids then you do with each other you might stand a chance out there

Echo being a suck up: sorry master chief

Why does everyone suck up to him he's just a lowlife bounty hunter he's probably the reason with failing this because we're being trained by some low rank bounty hunter instead of a master Jedi: well Master Chief maybe the problem is with our training. I'd rather be training a Jedi than a bounty Hunter

Master chief crosses his arms and raises his eyebrows: oh is that so well then it's a good thing that Padawan of Master Yoda was watching your little battle and he has a few words he'd like to say to each of you

Echo: The Padawan of the Jedi master is here?

Master chief: yes he is master Yoda sent him here hoping he might be able to learn something about basic tactics of clones, instead he watches you all fall like the dominoes that you are. what are you  all still sitting around for a stand attention!

Where are the others get down standard attention, as the Jedi Padawan walks in he's wearing a cloak covering his face and most of features but he looks humanoid, but the strange thing is he has green hair at least that's what I've seen from the small bits I can see coming from his cloak

He sounds nervous as he speaks:um... at ease?

This guy is a Padawan of a Jedi? Great well they do say be careful what you wish for I asked to be trained by Jedi instead I'm going to be trained by possibly the worst Padawan ever

Padawan stiffens up: okay...um i'm not used to this sort of thing so I'm just gonna say what's on my mind, which ever one of you is echo please step forward

Echo follows orders how surprising, he stepped forward and the Jedi Padawan looked at him: I am echo sir!

The pain of wanting to be surprised to be called sir what is with this one did the Jedi Temple send us one of their rejects to try and make us feel better

The Padawan: okay... Echo I watched your fight and I have some notes that I think you should take into account. Now I know that following orders is the ideal thing for a soldier... But you might need to interpret take your orders sometimes

Echo was confused along with the rest of us were supposed to follow orders aren't we why is echo of all clothing is being told off for following them?

Padawan continues his exclamation: i'm not saying you're doing anything wrong echo it's just well like your name says everyone else can hear the orders you don't have to repeat them korma and in some cases you're taking the orders a little bit too literal

Echo still confused: Sir I'm afraid I still don't understand

The Padawan thinks about it for a moment: okay mmm okay this is a hypothetical situation but what if you had orders to rescue A civilian in the middle of the battlefield, how would you go about it?

Echo responds with; I would follow the orders that were gi-

The Padawan interrupts: No you're not getting the meaning echo I'm saying what would you do if you were just giving the orders to rescue the refugee and that's it how do you go about it would you go storming off in the middle of the battlefield risking getting shot from the enemy or your own team already find another way that's what I'm trying to tell you . You have to interpret what your orders are and how you can best accomplish them just like today your orders were to capture the citadel but that's it I didn't give you instructions on how to do it they just told you to do it the rest is up to you and you need to learn to adapt if you do that I have no doubt that you would make a Great soldier

Echo seems to think about it for a moment: I will try sir, thank you for the advice sir!

The Padawan nods, well I suppose he did one good thing he's gonna try and get echo to shut up for that I'm thankful but I still think that they sent us the weakest Padawan

speaking of which he asks fives and the joker to step forward, which they do unsurprisingly: as for you too, first off you should not be arguing in the middle of a battlefield one of you makes the decisions and the other one follows through with it there's no time for a discussion why are you being shot. If you figure that out you two will make an impressive team. As for you individually fives I have to say that I saw you trying to one up the others this is not a game this is war there's no prize at the end of it other than surviving focus on that and not trying to show the others up. As for you joking around can be fun at times and it can definitely be helpful during war times but there's a time in a place and on the battlefield it is neither of those to hold the jokes in until the battle is over okay

The two not as a step back in line well hopefully that will just get them out of my way now I can final-

The Padawan calls out to me: heavy please step forward

What? Why call me out I'm the only one that actually doing any good out on the battlefield, there's nothing I need to improve I'm already perfect it's just the others

Padawan still lectures me anyway: heavy as far as I can tell... You're the reason your squad keeps failing

What!? how am I the reason that the squad is failing it's them that keep- I can't even finish my transport because the Padawan has something else to say: do you keep disobeying orders your run out to the field breaking formation risking getting shot from the enemy and your own team, you need to learn to work with others

I holding my anger because it yelling at a Padawan wouldn't look good: but sir, they keep getting in my Way. I destroy every droid in site these guys keep getting caught up and getting in my way

The Padawan shakes his head: No heavy you storming off go off and do things by yourself he's got getting in their way, if that was a real bad I feel you have likely been killed by friendly fire you need to learn to stick together with your team and you also need to learn that it's not all about you you have a team with you you are not just responsible for your life you are responsible for there is as well because as soon as one of you falls down it won't be long before the rest of you do. That's all I wanted to say other than that I think you all could be great soldiers just please take my advice

Padawan then walked off with the Master Chief, what does he know he's just a Padawan he's got no real experience where does he get off lecturing me about what makes a soldier

five: okay...If no one is going to say is I guess I will is anyone else gonna mention the fact that that kid head and complete personality change when he was talking to us we went from shivering and scared too confident when he was lecturing us

Echo: Yeah when I first time I thought he was going to run away scared very holding his ground and he punched out major flaws with each of us, Now that I think about it I could probably benefit from being more adaptive

The Joker: yeah and maybe I could learn to keep my mouth shut from time to time

Five nudges me: and heavy can definitely learn to stick with us and not go off and do his own thing

Yeah No there's nothing wrong with me it's everyone else they're just weak they can't keep up and getting in my way whatever that Padawan came up with a complete garbage I don't need his advice

99: I think you boys should listen to him he has good advice, maybe if you learn from what he's told you you have a better chance of passing

No I don't need anyone's advice or help to pass my final test I'm going to do it my own way because that's what an arc trooper would do

(does that sound familiar to anyone else)

Izuku point of view

Master shaak ti called me to her office/room apparently she wishes to discuss a few things for the Jedi Council. I have a feeling that they want to know more about my world possibly more about my civilisation since they've never heard of earth much less any other being capable of doing that we're able to do

I walk into a room and give a bow to the master Jedi: Master

Master shaak ti: please have a seat izuku

I know that and I look around there's not really a seat so I think she means she wants me to sit on the floor close to her, I do as I'm told and sit down a few inches away from her

Master shaak ti: I sense you can already tell why I called you here

I nod,  it doesn't really take a genius to figure out They want to know more about me my society and if they can truly trust me truth is I feel the same way about the Jedi Council and the Jedi self. Now I know I don't know much about them but from all I can tell some of them are a bit hypocritical I mean they have all these rules and traditions yet sometimes they don't stick to them they use the warden excuse to move past some of them, not to mention they're supposed to be peacekeepers and yet they don't seem very good at keeping the peace in fact they seem to be igniting it on some level but that's just my opinion so far , After all I'm in a war right now I'm sure there's much more going on than I could possibly hope to understand at least on a first glance anyway

Master shaak ti: Well then I will get straight to the pub can you tell me more about your society, and more about the people that inhabit your planet the only reason I ask is because we are concerned that others may come into contact with this blue like to claim to have seen and end up on desert planet or worse in separatist territory

Okay that is a fair question , but it's a fairly blunt one and it's a big one to answer: Well... That exactly an easy answer but I guess when it comes to my earth we can I like the whole galaxy and a whole.

Master shaak ti confused: what do you mean by that?

Alright this is gonna be difficult to answer but I will do my best: well you see on my credit for whatever reason people see each other are different some differences because of religion, ethnicity, place of origin and other things it's ridiculous I know we're all the same creature it's just that most people have forgotten that. To be fair we haven't heard anything about that in a very long time but it's still someone there

Master shaak ti nodded: is that one of the reasons why you wish for your people to running out of this intergalactic war

I know it honestly I think if we did get involved we just make the situation worse, they'll be people that saw the benefits in the Republic side there would also be people that are benefiting the separatist side different opinions for different people in the end it would just make the war drag on more and more lives would be lost

Master shaak ti: I see, tell me more about these powers that your people seem to have.

That's a fairly easy answer: well 80% of the population has an ability none of them are the same now unless a child develops a power directly from one of their parents but the chances of that happening are very slim it's usually a power resulted in the combination of two parents's power It's simple biology when you get down to it all. As for what we use our powers for like I said previously you have to have a license to use your powers at least in public if your power is a non-fighting based and you're not doing it to hurt anyone then you're allowed to use it on your property if you break those lies though you will be severely punished

Master shaak ti: that sounds like a dictatorship

Well she's not exactly wrong: well you're not wrong it's not exactly the best way to live, but it's the only thing we could do at the time I mean everyone was basically born with a lethal weapon how else were they supposed to keep control

Master shaak ti nodded in somewhat agreement: I suppose that makes sense still though I don't think it's right to restrain someone's natural ability

Okay that's another good point not to mention I found a view from many people from my world but there is a simple answer to it: Okay you have a point, it is somewhat like a dictatorship but it's to keep everyone equal like I said on the 80% of the population has powers what about the other 20% is it fair for them to lose out on sports or a job because someone with powers has more of a quality than that. I'm not trying to say it's not right to restrain someone is natural ability but it's also wrong to treat someone like a second-class citizen because they don't have an ability

Master shaak ti: oh I did not think of it that way, I apologise that was rude of me I should've thought about it from your perspective

I shake my head as she bowels:  i...is o-okay you don't have to bow, now if you don't mind me asking exactly how do you Jedi work?

Master shaak ti looks at me confused by my question, I can't really blame her she probably this question was completely out of the blue: well... I suppose the easiest answer is that we are peacekeepers we maintain peace and fight for it when needed we are compassionate we holding our emotions

I speak over her: i'm sorry but how exactly can you be compassionate if you're emotionless?

Master shaak ti: well... I suppose well it's not as easy as it sounds it... I don't know....

She has this expression of complete blank and shock my question makes of need to realise just how crazy that sounds. I mean how exactly can you be compassionate yet emotionally and keeping control your motion the whole point of being compassionate is that you understand peoples emotions at least that's what I think

I tried to speak to the master: Master shaak ti I didn't mean to offend you it's just from my perspective being compassionate and also feeling theEmotions of others and understanding them and the only way you can do that is by feeling things given the negative ones like sadness and anger

Master shaak ti: but anger leads to the dark side

Well that might be true but there's also a counterpoint to that argument: well true but that's only if you let your anger consume you, A wise man once told me the anger is an important emotion it can give you the red drive and the result to see something through but you can't let it control you you've got to master your emotions not locked them away only then can you get stronger

Master shaak ti looks at me with a rather confused expression: ... I think that's enough questions for today You should go the final tests are happening tomorrow perhaps you can

I get the feeling she doesn't wanna talk anymore so are you were going to hold and walk out of the room, dammit izuku he just made someone question entire religion that is not what a hero does I can only hope that she'll forgive me for what I said

A few hours after the test

Izuku shook his head as he walked down the corridors of The cloning facility, the client had not taken his words to heart and because of it they were going to fail or at least that's what it looks like Master shaak ti decided to give the clones A second chance to take the final exam, Izuku could only hope that they were going to take it seriously and try taking his advice

He was planning on watching them and seeing if they would improve from today's example, he was originally heading back to his quarters but he ended up getting lost in the barracks he would've asked someone for directions but everyone had already fallen asleep and he didn't feel right waking someone up

Izuku scolded himself: well this is what you get when you don't ask for directions

He entered the perks of the clones realised he was in the wrong place and was about to leave when he started to hear voices it was 99 and heavy, the maintenance clown had discovered that the cadet was planning on going AWOL and was trying to talk him out of it. Izuku sneaked closer trying to hear what was being said a little better

99 pleaded with his brother: but heavy you can't do this to your squad

Heavy responded sarcastically: my squad, we are nothing but a bad batch failures... Like you

Izuku Took his moments and stepped out of the shadows revealing himself to the clown surprising both of them: I want a failure until they think they are

99 trying to cover for heavy: sir we were just-

Izuku interrupted: I overheard everything don't worry I'm not turning in heavy it's his choice is. That being said heavy have you actually thought this through

Heavy raise an eyebrow: what do you mean?

izuku explained: well what are you going to do after you go AWOL? I mean no offence heavy but it's not I couldn't get a job and entire army looks exactly like you you'll be pegged as a deserter

Heavies mouth went dry for a moment he hadn't thought that far ahead but he shook it off as he grabbed more of his gear: i'll figure it out

Izuku shrugged: And what about your squad, do you know without you they can't do the final exam will fail before they even begin

Heavy still packing his stuff: they'll be fine I'll get a replacement

izuku shook his head: no they won't heavy not in time anyway, they'll fail before they even have a chance to begin. You've been given a second chance and you're just gonna throw it away not just for you for your squad? Your brothers?

99 agreed: he's right heavy you need them, and they need you.

Heavy picked up his gun and placed over his shoulder:  it doesn't matter we were gonna fail anyway you saw us out they're even with the advice from a Jedi we still couldn't win so what's the point in even trying none of us can change

Izuku was getting a weird sense of déjà vu heavy wasn't quite the same as bokgou as the young hero first thought instead he appeared to be someone who believed that if he was going to fail then what's the point even trying

The green hero looked at the clone as he was getting ready to walk away: you don't need to change heavy, you just need to learn, to work as a team and to rely on each other... See I never had that growing up I was always by myself I was always running away from my problems instead of facing them head on don't start running now heavy you'll regret it for the rest of your life

99 agreed again: he's right happy you should embrace the fact that you have a team, I never had that so why are you carrying such a heavy burden by yourself heavy when you have your brothers to help you

Heavy turnaround getting a little angry at being lectured: heavy! Stop calling me that 99 and YouTube kid with just numbers just numbers

99: not me to me you've always had a name

Heavy expression changed from angry to confusion in himself as he began thinking, izuku spoke: it's up to you heavy, you can throw away this opportunity and regret it for the rest of your life or you stay and try because even if you fail you can at least tell yourself every day that at least you didn't run away from this challenge at least you still talk and give it your best shot

The clown went deep into thought as he turned around and began walking away 99 was going to stop in but izuku got in the way: he needs time to let him figure this out by himself

99 looked at his brother walking away he wanted to chase after him but he understood where the Padawan was coming from nodded and allowed heavy to walk out of the barracks. After that moment the young hero asked 99 to guide him to wear his sleeping quarters were which 99 happily obliged

The next day

[There should be a GIF or video here. Update the app now to see it.]

Izuku smiled as he watched the cadets celebrate their success in completing their final test, he was proud of them and somewhat proud with himself he wondered if this was how all might felt he saw his successor cleanup and entire beach of garbage.

The young hero made it just back to the barracks to see that the Domino squad was getting their medals of passing and they were heading out to join the republic in the battle against the separatists

The clones walked out of the barracks all of them giving a small salute to izuku as a way of thanking him for his advice, the young hero was slightly embarrassed but hid in his cloak to hide it. 99 and here we were the only ones left in the room

Heavy saw a Padawan and gave him a salute: you two are right you know about everything

Izuku chuckled: I saw that you were quite a leader out there

Heavy: no leaders we are team... All of us, even you 99

99 smiled as he hopped along with heavy: yummy is lucky to have a soldier like you heavy

Heavy: not as lucky as I am to have a brother like you. Or a friend like you and general... I'm sorry what was your name

Izuku pulled back his hood of his cloak and revealed his face: izuku my name is izuku Midoriya

Both the Brothers smiled knowing the name of the general: well, it's goodbye I guess heavy shits out and 99 stays here

Heavy again taking off his medal: I will see each other again I mean how am I supposed to get this back from you?

He handed in 99 his medal, at first 99 was confused then his expression changed to gratitude as he looked up at his brother: you deserve it you're one of us

Heavy began to leave but not before giving one last salute to izuku: I hope we can meet again on the battlefield General izuku

Izuku blush slightly: it's just izuku in fact I would prefer it if you call me that's just that

Heavy smiles: sir, yes sir

The clone walked away rejoining his squadready to embark on joining the war effort for the Republic
