Chapter 2

Barry Allen

I arrived at S.T.A.R. Labs early the next morning. Caitlin crossed her arms over her chest and glared at me. "What?" I asked.

"How come you didn't tell us you got a new partner?" I looked at Joe.

"Really? You told them about Clarity?" I asked in disbelief. Cisco stared at her ID picture on the computer screen, grinning.

"I'm glad he told us. She's hot," he said. Dr. Wells and Joe rolled their eyes.

"Barry, do you know if this Clarity can keep secrets?" Wells asked. I stared at him in confusion. "She may have seen you use your speed yesterday." My eyes widened.

"Damnit! She was right there when I sped away! How could I forget she was there?" I yelled, running my hands through my hair.

I ran in my lab at the precinct and saw Clarity sitting there working. "Hey, Clarity," I said as I walked in. She didn't even look up. She said nothing. "Clarity?" I tried again.

"I don't want to talk to you, Barry," she grumbled as she went through different files. I noticed that all of my work for today was done. She got up and grabbed her leather jacket. "I'll be right back." I watched her go downstairs and towards Eddie's desk. She broke out in a grin as she talked to him. Iris walked in and hugged Clarity. I frowned. Since when does Iris know that she's back? A few minutes later she came back up and I handed her coffee that I had picked up on the way here. "What's this?" she asked.

"Coffee. An apology coffee," I replied. She handed it back to me.

"I can't drink coffee. It makes me sneeze. Remember?" I nodded.

"Right. Now I do. Sorry." She shrugged and kept ignoring me. "Why are you ignoring me?" I whined. She raised an eyebrow.

"Did you just...whine?" A smile broke out on her face and she laughed. "You have not changed one bit, Barry Allen," she told me. I shrugged.

"I've changed. I can run faster now."

"You mean you can run?" I scowled, making her laugh. She opened her mouth to say something else when her phone beeped. She glanced at it. "I have to go. I'll be back later. Bye, Barry!" she called out as she ran out of the lab. I frowned. And to think I just got back on her good side.

About an hour later Clarity walked in the lab and her hair was a mess. Leaves were tangled in the knots of the blonde mess. I chuckled. "What happened to you?" She pulled a few leaves out of her hair.

"I ran into a bush. I didn't know where I was going and then BAM! I face planted in a bush. Not one of my best clumsy moments." She pulled a brush out of her bag and a ponytail holder. She sat there brushing her hair before putting it up in a ponytail.

Clarity Parker

I picked up a box and brought it over to my room. "Wait. What?" I muttered, looking at the items in the box. It's supposed to be jewelry. Not kitchenware. The box is labeled Jewelry. The movers. I scowled just as the doorbell rang. I ran over to the door, my bare feet slapping the wood floors as I did. I opened the door. "Can I help you?" I asked the man in the wheelchair.

"Yes. My name is Harrison Wells. Is Barry Allen here?" I shook my head. "May I come in?" I moved aside so he could wheel in. "I understand that you were in town when the Particle Accelerator exploded, am I correct?" he asked. I shut the front door.

"How do you know that?" I asked him. "Never mind that. Because of you I was struck by lightning and in a coma for nine months. All because of that damn accelerator," I hissed. He folded his hands in his lap.

"And so was Barry Allen. Same time in a coma, same way. And with the same abilities. I'm sure you've seen him use them. Am I wrong, Ms. Parker?" I sighed.

"I've seen him use them," I grumbled. I was acting like a little kid. Maybe he'll leave. "Why are you here, Dr. Wells?" I asked. He sighed.

"Ms. Parker, it has come to my attention that there is another streak running around. A purple streak. Says to be female with blonde hair and wears a purple hoodie. Like that one," he explained, pointing to the hoodie laying on my couch. "I believe that that streak is you." I rolled my eyes.

"No shit Sherlock. Just don't tell anyone and we're good. Now will you leave?" He shook his head.

"I will be back, Ms. Parker. Believe me. But I do think you should join our team," he told me. I snorted and rolled my eyes again.

"Get out," I hissed. He wheeled out of the apartment and I locked the door behind him. Someone knows my identity. And the guy and I have a past. One that I wish never happened.
