Imscared 2 - Room
Pit woke up with a groan, obviously showing signs of pain. He rubbed his eyes gently to not hurt them and sat up on the bed. He stretched his entire body out until his back snapped, making him sigh in relief. He blinked a few times to get rid of the last bit of sleep left on his eyelids.
After his brain could register the environment, he noticed that the room he was in was not his.
Pit looked around frantically, getting more scared the more he looked around. The room looked like it was all made out of wood. The floor has wood instead of tiles and the walls were a dirty white. He looked even more and noticed a small, light brown coffee table next to the bed and a closet wardrobe with the same color.
Then, he noticed a door right next to the wardrobe. It has the word “Exit” written on it with red ink. Not a sign above it or on the wall, on the door in red. He hopped to himself that the wording is actually ink and not blood…
Pit stood up from the bed and slowly walked towards the door. He was afraid that the floor would creak but it didn’t, it must be new. As he got closer, he noticed that the doorknob was… unique to say the least. It’s a square with a weirdly shaped hole with words carved on it.
The words were almost unreadable. Fortunately, Pit went to the doctor a few times and he had to figure out the prescription by himself. He used his index finger and caressed the carving, deciphering a few letters while others were just weird aggressive lines. It took him a while but he managed to read what it was, but it wasn’t a pleasant thing.
“You need a heart in order to open this door.”
Pit’s eyes grew wide as the shock ran down his spine, causing him to shiver aggressively. What kind of heart, an animal heart, plastic, a human’s?! Many things ran across his mind in a worrying and terrified manner. He got so anxious, he began to look for a way to pull on the door.
Pit tried every way possible and nothing happened, not even by pushing it. He sighed and looked down at his hands, they were slightly shaking mainly because of fear and anxiety itself. He kept attempting anyways, he wants to get out of there as soon as possible. He didn’t even questioned how or who got him in that room, he just wanted to escape.
---
A while later, Pit sat back on the bed in pure exhaustion. He used his knees to support his head with his hands. His leg fidgeted, thinking about a way to get out of there. He let out a sigh, imagining the events of his parents failing to find him, making this current room be his forever and ever.
Pit teared up a bit thinking deeply about it. He wiped his eyes with the shirt’s sleeve and held back a whimper. He removed a few strands of hair from his forehead, but failed to keep them in place. Now, he had his arms on his sides and head hanged, giving up about his ideas.
Then, he looked to his side and noticed that he had yet to check the wardrobe closet. He completely forgot that that thing was even there, and it’s difficult to miss because of how wide it is. He stood up and walked towards it, getting his hopes back up about something useful that could break the door down. He grabbed the handles and moved his arm to the side, since it’s those that open sideways.
But, the door got stuck before he could even open a crack.
Pit’s face turned back to sadness and confusion once he caught what just happened. He looked at the wardrobe handle and noticed it has a keyhole. Pit sighed but kept firm after realising that the “Exit” door seems like some sort of puzzle. The key to that door was written down, like a hint.
Pit turned around and stared at the floor cautiously, he was now sure that there could, or there is a key anywhere in that room. Maybe this is some sort of game made by the owner of this… place. Pit walked to every corner of the room, and found nothing. He flipped the bed upside down and checked every inch of the bedsheet, mattress and the inside of the pillow, but yet again, nothing.
He was about to give up when he looked at the coffee table. It has an outline of a wardrobe, as well as a handle. He leaned towards it and grabbed the handle. When he attempted to pull it, it didn’t work at all.
Pit breathed in to calm himself before he could erupt into raging tears. In a slow movement, he let go of the handle and let the arm drop against his thigh. He hanged his head and closed his eyes, breathing in as much tranquility as possible. He sat down on the floor and pouted, obviously thinking where else it could possibly be.
He opened his eyes a little so that the tiredness doesn’t get to him. Then, his eyes opened widely when he caught a glimpse of shiny metal. He quickly supported himself with his knees and moved the coffee table out of the way. Once it was off, a small, metal key made it’s appearance from under the coffee table’s leg.
Pit’s face lit up as he took the key from the floor. He stood up and turned around towards the wardrobe closet, holding the key so tightly that his fingers turned pale. He walked closer to the large furniture and inserted the key in. He turned it to a certain side and heard a click.
He smiled as he opened the wardrobe. He was so happy that he didn’t mind the ear piercing screech that made the door. Once he opened fully and looked inside. His face slowly shifted from joy to shock as he noticed what was really inside of that wardrobe.
The insides were covered in blood.
Pit gasped and backed up, with jelly legs. He looked at the bottom part and saw the puddle with a silhouette of boots. His mind might be tricking him into thinking it’s a fresh corpse or it’s just red ink, like the one on the door and the boots were just simple black boxes. He didn’t even dared to look inside any longer for a tool to open the door.
He felt sick so he closed his eyes for a moment. There is no odor or anything so it didn’t matter. Then, Pit felt air brush against his ear, making him shudder. He quickly opened his eyes and turned to the side where he thought he heard the whisper. Instead of seeing someone stand behind him, he noticed that one, no one was there and two, a room that looked like a passage appeared out of nowhere in a corner.
Pit turned around and slowly walked towards it, noticing how the shadows tried to crawl into the dimly lit room. Once getting in the new room, he saw the handles of a ladder, leading deep down in the pitch black pit. He swallowed nervously and looked behind his shoulder, clearly afraid of leaving the room. But this new room seemed like some kind of progress, and he wouldn't blow the opportunity out.
Pit breathed in and gained courage, gripping the handles tightly as he used his legs to lower himself in the pit.
